Fleur La Mallificum

Location: Port Witch Coven

Thankful to be away from the castle, she and her cohort were brought back to their home. Despite Mal being taken, she would consider today a success. It may not look it, but they had their quarry. Still, they were not done yet. "Rhys, I will give you whatever Wizard I come across, if for no other reason than you helping out today. I can almost guarantee that if those at the castle haven't already made preparations to come here and attack us, then they will soon. If you wish to stay and aid, I would be grateful, otherwise travel safely."

Fleur turned to the sisters, ignoring their use of an unknown language, "Thank you both for your help. Rest up because we will be moving soon. Once you feel up to it, please gather the others, especially the children, and prepare to move them to a safe shelter. Every available Witch and Warlock should be available to defend our home. Nera," She said, turning to the other woman, "My love, we have precious little time. We have the Princess here and we need to act quickly. Follow me and we will prepare her. Bring defenses. We left her alone too long, she may feel agitated and ready to fight back."

With that, Fleur moved toward their quarry, waiting for Nera to follow. CradleSnatching was easy enough, but she didn't want to mess this up after having come so far.

Rhys Asher

Location: The Palace

Rhys mussed over his options. He was eager to be gone from this scene. Seeing no reason for himself to be put at risk because the Port Coven had done such a foolish thing, but it was tempting. Tempting that they might be inclined to owing him something. Fleur's good will was not something he would toss aside. "My dear, I have a 'spare' room. One that you might use for your little amusement." His body leaned against the wall as he decided to see how this played out. If it came down to it he could slip away one way or another. A little word here and there. The rogue wizard smirked silently.

[color=Gold]"Might be interesting to take me up on the offer, just in case they do decide to raid you and set your beautiful home ablaze." He smiled with a cruel glee. "Just think of them rushing in, finding no princess. Only innocent witches who fled in panic of what happened to their safe home? My dear Fleur they'd never look in my direction and if they did..." Rhys chuckled darkly. Let them look and see what could have been! If only Blaize had not been blind when he took Arya as his ExtraOrdinary Wizard's Apprentice.

Present Day - The Castle: December 21st, 12,507 - 1:45 PM

Myrus' eyes were partially glazed over, as he stared dumbly at the Palace Landing Stage, seeing the magnificent silver dragon land with her mortal companion. Thalia would be able to hear the sharp cries of a newborn baby, coming from within the Palace itself. And while the Prince appeared to be lifeless on the outside, on the inside, he was screaming. Mind control worked both ways - just as Myrus' mind had been opened to Nera, he had managed to glimpse into her mind. And what he had seen terrified him - the chaotic destruction of the Castle, with his sisters' heads on a pike. Valda you need to run!!!

Arya listened to Cuyler, memorizing the details of his tale. She was not quite sure what he was implying - did he imagine these forces at play were the gods of the Land of Long Nights? It didn't quite make sense to her, what those forces would be doing here, at the Castle. With everything happening, it didn't seem divine. It was the cruelty that humanity specialized in. "So you believe this Mistress of Chaos may be responsible?" Arya asked.

Thankfully, Rowland decided to help his apprentice, fielding Atkin's question about the Darke Week. "As tradition, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard never uses the Darke...But without the Darke, the Lyte cannot exist. Each apprentice studies Darke Magyk for one week, called their Darke Week, in order to understand it...And I hope, dear boy, never need to use it."

Asha gave Lyra a slight smile, before her eyes widened as she gazed at the dragon. "That is no ordinary dragon....It's a Tyme dragon!" Asha exclaimed, unable to hold in her excitement. Yes, there had been a gruesome death in front of her but her breath was taking away by the dragon. The illusionary red dragon paled in comparison to this. She could feel the raw power radiating from the magnificent creature and while she found it comical that a lowly man was riding the great beast, she was transfixed. She had thought that Tyme dragons were nothing more than myth.

"That is no illusion..." Arya murmured in agreement. This entire day was so insane and chaotic that she was beginning to wonder if Cuyler may be right - if it was the forces of chaos at work. Yet it was too planned, too methodical for her to quite accept that explanation.

Puck was grinning with glee as he saw the silver dragon land. "Come now, Amarantha my dear, show a little grace," Puck urged. "I have a feeling we are seeing someone we shall soon call a dear friend...But go, take a squad and move on the Port Witches. Supplement with my sister's witches as well. You will need their Magyk. I, meanwhile, have a business deal to make."

Nera Hawthorn

Location: Port Witch Coven House

Nera silently absorbed the information that Rhys was providing. He had indicated a pressure point, a weakness - and that wasn't something that was easily forgotten. Even if she were to have a lapse in memory, all it would take would be a short trip down the Witch's Road in order to recall it perfectly. She could Sense from Rhys how much he wished to flee. He was worried, then, about being found out for what he was. Nera smirked slightly. He was far too easy to read.

Marya and Medea shrugged, before Marya spoke up. "We aren't really tired," she pointed out. Medea nodded, chiming in. "Just tell us where you want them moved to...We could use a good run..." The twins were fidgeting, hardly able to stay still. The lengthy trip to and from hadn't taken hardly any energy from them. "Знаш, могли бисмо је једноставно убити и сами преузети Цовен..." Marya then whispered to Medea. "Да, али забавно је гледати како све изгубе..."

"And there is no need, Witch Mother. You attend to matters here. I will go prepare the girl for you - a bit of Concilium should calm her from any frenzy." Nera then smiled sweetly, as if her words were venom and she were a snake. Nera then pressed a kiss to Fleur's earlobe, before she retreated into the house and paused on the threshold of Malekith's room. Per her instructions to the twins, they had stashed Luna there. She could Sense the waves of fear and panic coming off of her.

"Sweet Luna, do not fear," Nera instructed, before she began to use Concilium, forcing Luna to sit on the bed and be still. Once a few moments had passed, Nera opened the door and waited Lilith. With any luck, Malekith would be replaced by the Princess-in-Waiting.

Princess Luna

Location: Malekeith's Room, Port Witch Coven

Luna started to pace around the room a bit more as she tried to think what she could do to try and escape the room, someone would eventually come into the room. She eyed the knife once more, before making her way towards it and pulled it off of the wall, she really didn't want to use it. But it was the only way for her to try and escape this place. As Luna held it in her hand, she paused when she heard Nera's voice on the other end of the room. Her eyes glazed over when Nera used Concilium on her, Luna ended up dropping the knife and started to make her way towards the bed and sat down.

Luna turned to look over towards the door, as she waited for a few moments later the door opened as she stared directly at Nera tilting her head slightly. "What do you want with me?" Luna finally asked, as she stared directly at the woman who entered the room that she was locked into. She couldn't help but wonder what they were planning on doing with her, she remained still and unable to move at all she was still very scared.

Atkin Bowman

Location: Palace: Lawn

Atkin had no clue how he was supposed to react to this entire situation. First the guy's explanation was a fairy tale. Not just a fairy tale, but one that he didn't even go through the effort to actually connect to the situation at hand? What, was some divine half-breed supposed to be the root cause of all this? Were one of them supposed to be the one who actually did the kidnapping of Princess Luna? Was this just the work of some crazy cultists? He had no clue what exactly he meant to communicate with that.

He had to know that even if a story like that had some basis in truth, a story continually retold, especially orally down generations, was going to end up warping into something entirely different. Hell, he had seen that happen in the span of mere minutes earlier that day. And he was *this* close to telling Buyler exactly how he felt about him wasting all their time when a dragon showed up.

An actual dragon.

So this was just his life now, wasn't it? Wrestling little furry men, throwing pillows in the face of the Queen and having to deal with actual dragons. Oh yeah, also some old Queste that had a 98% kill rate or something. Marvelous. At least he got to learn what the Darke Week was, even if he still wasn't sure what exactly Darke Magyk was. Rowland only made vague allusions to it. Maybe it was like what witches did.

But, regardless, the most important thing to deal with was the dragon and the guy that decided to roll in riding it. Apparently this was a Tyme Dragon too. Whatever that was supposed to mean. Was there like Space Dragons too? Who cared. Everyone seemed to be more or less frozen in place, aside from Puck. Fuck it. Since nobody else seemed willing to make the first move, he would. His day had been fucked up enough already, that even if he made it worse, it wouldn't affect too much.

"Afternoon," he called out to the dragon and its rider, waving to them. If they were hellbent on killing everyone here, they could have easily done as the illusion had and just torched the place from the skies. So at the very least they wanted something and were willing to talk about it.

"Care t' introduce yourself?" Although his word choice was casual and friendly, his tone was not. The most apt term would most likely be "cautious neutrality." They certainly outgunned any one of the people here, aside from potentially Asha, but he had no idea what the upper limits of either of their abilities were, nor did he care to try finding out. And he didn't know what they wanted either. They could be here to help or hinder. And until they revealed their motives all he could do was hope for the best, but be ready for the worst, and that carried over to his actions.

Magyk was such a troublesome thing. A woman clad entirely in black held aloft a small, well-worn Counter Charm in her hand and once more, spoke aloud the words inscribed there-on. She had managed to remain hidden so far, but there was no doubt in her mind that she was bound to get caught. It was fortunate that this time, she managed to form the words in her mouth in just the right way that caused the Charm to briefly vibrate in her hand as a hole formed in the ward ahead. She couldn't see it, but experience had taught her such was the case. She just needed to move forward while the breach remained.

Now that she had infiltrated the Coven's magical defenses, it was a dawdle to get to where she needed to. As terrible a power as Magyk could be, it didn't allow Witches and Wizards to be omniscient. And she found that their defenses made them complacent. Confident that whatever they had set up would surely protect them. As long as she stuck to the shadows, she could get to where she needed to be. Thanks to that witch, she knew just where to go as well. The others had already arrived, so the ability to complete the job cleanly was likely out the window.

These suspicions were confirmed when she actually made her way into the room itself to find the coven mother and her consort already there with the princess. She didn't speak, but let her shoulders sag a bit in disappointment. It looked like she wouldn't just be able to leave this as an extraction. She'd need to get her hands a bit dirty.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: The Palace Lawn

Cuyler shifted over to Ayra, standing beside her rather than in front or behind her as they all stood, facing the great dragon and man who suddenly appeared in their midst. Thia stood in front of Cuyler and Ayra, staring intently at the creature before them. In response to Ayra’s statement, Cuyler leaned over a bit to speak to Ayra over the screaming crowd and talking around them.
“She may not directly be responsible but she creates it and let’s it thrive. If this is just the beginning of the Castle’s downfall, Halley will soon be attracted to it. They say the four will return when the world they come from is in peril. I think this qualifies,” Cuyler stated. Cuyler’s attention became drawn to the apprentice as he began speaking to the newcomers. Bravery and stupidity often went hand in hand.
“We should get the people out of here before anything else decides to show up.”

Amarantha

Location: The Palace Lawn

Amarantha smirked, her eyes still watching the dragon. It was quite, beautiful, regal even. Part of her wanted to remain and see what the outcome would be, what Puck’s plan would be, but he would inform her of any dealings if she was required to know. Her eyes scanned over the Wendron Witches, thinking who she would ask to bring along, perhaps she would just ask Jadis. She would provide the best. Amarantha tended to rely on her skills, although she did learn a few things from the witches during her training that she was able to use but there was something more exhilarating about using your own hands to get the job done. She gave three short whistles, a signal to her finest to come running. It was a bittersweet moment to watch them come pushing out of the crowd, making their way towards the stage. When she was still known as Girl 526 her best friend, Boy 513 and her used to stay up, talking about all their future plans. He was supposed to be here, running to her now rather than Boy 512, Girl 603 and Boy 604. They stood at attention, eyes on their Deputy rather than the dragon behind them; as it should be. Amarantha walked over to Jadis and bowed her head in respect.
”Who are you able to spare, Witch Mother?” Amarantha spoke politely, after all Jadis was the one to give her, her Chocolate Charm and Fast Freeze Charm, which she kept on her person at all times.
"To save sweet Valda's sister and fight the Port Witch Coven?" Jadis asked with a smirk. "The entire Coven is at your service."
Amarantha's eyes lifted as she looked at Jadis. A slow, upward curve crested her lips in pleasure.
"Your generosity is greatly appreciated, Witch Mother." She took a step back and looked over the entire Coven, her eyes gleamed as a plan formed in her head with so much power at her fingertips. "I will lead," she informed them, her voice ringing with authority. "Allow me and my people to move in first before joining. If the Princess is there, we will get her out, as for the Port Witches, I will leave the creativity to your capable minds."
Jadis looked to Valda and smiled as she spoke, "Oh and Valda, my dear, you are more than welcome to come help us if you wish. It's not every day we get to do something quite like this."
Amarantha picked up on Jadis’s words to her Coven member and the Queen of the Castle. She turned and looked at the Queen.
”I would advise against that your Highness, purely at the expense of your safety. Of course, it is your decision.” Amarantha would have to rework her plans if Valda chose to join them on their journey.

With the aid of the Wendron Witch Covens Magyk, they Transport the entire Coven, including Valda if she chooses to come and Amarantha to the Port. Boy 512, Girl 603 and Boy 604 will have to travel by the barge.

Richard Laine

Location: The Palace

Taking a long draw upon the cigarette, Richard Laine stowed the lighter in an inner pocket of his suit. "Thalia, darling, if I had known this was the local Renaissance Fair, I would have worn my armor." This was a moot point, due to the fact that Richard's 'armor' was in no way a metal suit. Otherwise called by the false British man a 'human microwave'. Certainly there were plenty of air flow, but when standing or mounted upon a horse in the sun for hours, let alone actual fighting, it was going to get 'toasty'. Watching a lad approach the two, the 'man' raised a brow. Medieval indeed was the dress code around here! But his lips twitched into a smile as his snake like eyes gleamed with interest at such a bold lad to approach what most were running in fear of.

Sadly, it wasn't him.

What harm would it do to introduce themselves? The answer was none that he knew of, and if there was? Then Thalia should have told him. Forewarning was forearming or in some cases disarming Richard before he said or did something. "It's it polite to give your name along with the rest of that sentence, laddy-o?" The Adder spoke about the cigar, before raising a hand to pluck it from his handsome visage. "But as we did land in the middle of a celebration it seems..." His gaze turning from Atkin to look about the Palace with a curious glance. A celebration for sure. The question was what type? But his questions would have to wait. They needed to find his- and Thalia's- child. His fingers twitched as he thought of the poor helpless infant without his protection.

"Very well then! I am Richard Laine, the Adder." The taller man held a hand for Atkin to shake, his other holding the burning cigarette that he took a long draw from before blowing a ring into the air. "And the Lady behind me is Thalia Maehers. My beautiful wifey." Turning enough to give a cheeky wink to the great and scaley dragon. "As for why we are here? Why don't you explain, love?"

Queen Valda

Location: The Palace - Lawn

Valda watched the dragon, unsure of what to say. Arya had just said that this dragon wasn't an illusion like the other one, that this one was in fact a real live dragon. It was beautiful to say the least, and she had no idea how to fully react to it. The fact that it was in front of them, and Asha said it was some specific dragon, started to make her wonder why it was there. Not to mention Atkin was being dumb and approached the dragon, without even giving his own name first, plus he wasn't being very respectful to a creature that could swallow him in one gulp.

She hardly was paying attention when she heard Amarantha mention going to the Port Witch Coven. Yes, she wanted to go get her sister back, she didn't know if she trusted her Coven to retrieve her sister without any problems, but she also knew that the Deputy Hunter was right. "Alright, go get my sister using whatever means necessary, I'll stay here," Valda said, looking right at her, before she watched them disappear and her attention turned back to the dragon.

Thalia Maehers

Location: The Palace

Thalia looked at Richard for a moment, before she responded. "Do not call me wifey Richard," she said, before she glared slightly at Atkin when he spoke. Either he was the bravest person around, or the dumbest, she wasn't too sure yet, however, she wasn't in a good position to really be able to talk to them properly. Sure, in her dragon form, she was a lot more intimidating to others than in her human form, but as a human she was more able to talk to people, and not having to worry about smacking anyone with her tail was an added bonus.

She hesitated for a moment, before her body started to crackle shimmer slightly. Her body started to shrink, and soon, she was in her human form, and she easily was able to adapt, and her outfit was a simple silver dress, perfect for the time era. Her skin shimmered slightly, as she gave them a smile. "Don't mind Richard too much, he sometimes can get on my nerves. As he said, my name is Thalia Maehers, and we've come looking for our child," she said, looking at Atkin directly for a moment, before she looked around at the others present.

Out of the corner of her eye, Lyra caught the look of pure, unadulterated wonder that took over Asha's features, and she couldn't quite help but to take a quick glance over at the woman to get a better look. A soft smile graced her lips before her attention returned to the apparently real, live dragon, a Tyme dragon to use Asha's words. She didn't know what a Tyme dragon, but considering Asha's awestruck reaction, she could only assume it was something truly rare. The fact that Asha and Arya didn't seem overly concerned or alarmed by the appearance of this admittedly majestic beast put her mind a bit at ease. That is not to say however that she was going to fully let her guard down. She would be a fool to not have a healthy respect, and perhaps fear, of the undoubtedly powerful dragon.

She tensed slightly as the young ExtraOrdinary Apprentice unabashedly walked right up to the dragon and its rider. Did he honestly even know what he was doing? She doubted it if his slightly terse words to them were any indication. Her lips thinned as she watched and waited with helpless apprehension to see how the newcomers would take Atkin's none too friendly words. She let out a small breath that she hadn't realized that she had been holding when they seemed to take it decently. Wait. Did that dragon just talk?! Her eyes widened and her mouth fell agape when the dragon's body then began to shimmer and crackle before shrinking down into the form of a human. Wow, just wow. She glanced back over at Asha for a moment. As she began to relax, she was finally able to understand and share some of the wizard's amazement. When it came to the Tyme dragon, there was certainly more than meets the eye. She was indeed curious about it and interested in learning more, but she knew that now was definitely not the time for that.

Lyra blinked when the woman, who mind you had just been a dragon, stated that her and her apparent husband were here looking for their child. She tilted her head to the side slightly, brows furrowing. It couldn't possibly be just an uncanny coincidence that the same day she had found a dragon egg a real live mother dragon shows up. She took a step forward, fully intending on sending the parents in the right direction. It was really no question in her mind. Dragon or not, it was still a child, and a child needed its parents. She wasn't selfish enough, or stupid enough for that matter, to keep the egg for herself. Whatever value it had wasn't hers to be had. She sheathed her sword and closed the remaining distance between her and the dragon people. As she came to a stop in front of them, she then promptly curtsied deeply. "Lady Maehers and Lord Laine, my name is Lyra Lauerk, the lady-in-waiting to Princess--excuse me, Queen Valda. It is an honor to welcome you to The Palace of the Small Wet Country Across the Sea," she greeted them politely before getting straight to the point. "If I may be so bold, I believe I know this child you are speaking of. Earlier this morning, I found a dragon egg. Please allow me to take you to him or her. I do not wish to keep you from your child."

Fleur La Mallificum

Location: Port Witch Coven

Fleur nodded, understanding Nera's words. She would let Nera go in first. Rhys was another matter entirely. "You have a point, lover. And a good one at that. I may take you up on that, but I must attend to matters here first. Ensure the children's safety and make sure our prey is taken care of before I even think of leaving. You may stay, if you wish."

A portly witch woman walked up. Bernice was her name and she was charged with the children's studies. It was foolish to judge the woman on appearance or occupation alone. She was a competent Magyk user and was a force to be reckoned with. Many a time Fleur has asked her how many people she has killed, only for Bernice to smile and laugh while she knitted, a twinkle in her eye as she said: "I'm not telling."

Bernice didn't look panicked, but she knew things were up. "Bernice, take the children and go to the safehouse. Transport them there if you must, but you must leave now. We will be getting attacked soon and I do not want the children there." Bernice nodded and waddled off to go ensure their safety. Now, it was her turn.

She entered the room, seeing Luna on the bed, calmed down thanks to Nera, she looked over towards her reward for the evening. "My dear, we wish to offer you something magical. A chance for a home, without limits, without worry." Before she continued to speak, she looked back as a stranger entered. Before she continued, Fleur summoned Darke energy and bound the woman. A rope tied her in place. "Nera, watch our intruder here while I continue our work. If she so much as breathes funny, do not be afraid to kill her."

She faced Luna and knelt down. "Have no fear, child. This will be better for you." Lilith summoned her Magyk and started CradleSnatching Luna.

Rhys Asher

Location: The Palace

There was a wicked smile of the rogue wizard's face, as he gave a chuckle. "Lover. Am I moving up in the world?" But while words were eager for such a thing, Rhys was in fact contemplating the best way to dispose of the Witch Mother and place Nera as his puppet in her place. Giving a graceful bow, he swept an imaginary hat from his head. "My dear Witch Mother. I would be so eager to make sure you remain unharmed. That is what allies are for are they not?"

So it was Rhys followed after the woman and found himself facing an amusing situation. It wasn't like he could go to the Castle with the news that the Port Witches had the little Luna or that he would. It would go against what he wanted after all. Not to mention he whole business with the fact he was supposed to be dead. Speaking of which... He's have to deal with that pesky wizard at some point. Doubtful the man would keep his mouth shut but... Mistaken identity? He had never really spoken of his family so it was possible to say he was a relation of the poor lad who had perished. Leaning against the wall as he watched the two witches deal with an intruder and their Cradle Snatched child. Richard though he might amuse himself. "What is this little odd one doing here? Shall I just... Read what you most desire you precious childe?" Rhys crooned as he eyed the woman greedily trying to read her thoughts. "Do you want that one... She looks entertaining."

Present Day - The Castle: December 21st, 12,507 - 2:00 PM

"Atkin!" Rowland called out, chasing after the young lad as quickly as his old and wizened knees would take him. He wasn't his own apprentice but he was his former apprentice's apprentice and in that way, Rowland felt like he was something of an intellectual grandfather to the boy. He let out a breath as well when the Tyme Dragon and her herald did not appear to hold any offense to Atkin's words. "Atkin, m'boy, perhaps you should mind your etiquette more...especially around beings of immense power and rarity," he whispered to him.

A small puppy had run across the lawn, yipping at Thalia excitedly. Just like most of the humans in attendance, the puppy also had never seen a real dragon before. A dark haired young woman raced after the dog. "Bard! Silly boy!" the woman called out, narrowly catching the puppy before they got too near to the crowd. The puppy licked her face almost apologetically and the woman laughed. "Alright, alright, all is forgiven...Now let's go home, before the rush hits the Ramblings..."

Arya relaxed as well once she saw that no harm had come to Atkin. She found her attention split between him and Cuyler. But thankfully, Rowland seemed to have her apprentice protected from harm, allowing her to return her attention to the man from the Land of Long Nights. "...I regret saying this already, but it seems the Young Army has that handled," Arya murmured. Under Puck's orders, the Young Army was directing the crowd out of the Palace Lawn and ushering them back into the streets. They were all being encouraged to head straight home, with some officers - falsely - claiming that Queen Valda had ordered a curfew for their protection.

Myrus slowly began to move again, until he was standing next to his sister. His eyes still had a glazed quality to them and he kept trying to voice his thoughts, to warn Valda of the great danger that was to come. He managed to open his mouth but only a strangled cry came out. "...I-I...have to...warn you...but she says I mustn't tell....I-I mustn't tell you..." Myrus whispered, quietly enough that only Valda could hear. He was as pale as a ghost and shaking.

"Cuyler, I would very much like to discuss this with you further - though I must confess, I am a bit confused...If Halley is this Mistress of Chaos as you say, why would she be a friend to us?" Arya mused. But her duties as ExtraOrdinary Wizard called and she politely excused herself, moving over towards the silvery woman and her herald. "Thank you, Miss Lauerk," Arya said kindly. Greeting these strangers was a task either she or Valda had undertaken, but their sloth had prevented them from doing so. Lyra had saved them from civil embarrassment.

A thought then occurred to her and her eyes flickered towards Valda. "Miss Laurek, once you have escorted our guests and reunited them with their child, please return for a word...concerning the protection of our Queen in these Darke times." She didn't even want to begin to think about the Magykal grudge match likely to transpire at the Port.

Nera Hawthorn

Location: Port Witch Coven House

The twins had no trouble evacuating the children to the safehouse, once Bernice gave them the location. In fact, the speedsters hardly broke a sweat. But given that they spotted the arrival of the Wendron Witches on the doorstep of the Port Witch Coven House, the two debated whether or not they should go in and defend their home. "Малекит је већ умро данас..." Marya pointed out. "Да ли си уплашен?" Medea scoffed. "Можда мало... Изгледа да ће коначно бити магични грађански рат..." Marya murmured. Her twin sighed before nodding and the twins took off, heading back into the Castle and going to the Ramblings. There was a board game pub there that they enjoyed visiting.

She nodded at Fleur, abandoning her use of Concilium on Luna once she saw that Fleur had begun the CradleSnatching process. "Of course," she said, turning to look at the intruder. She held out her hand and began to attempt to use Concilium to keep her still and complacent, but there was an unorthodoxy in her - one that Nera had witnessed only a few times before. Her efforts proved fruitless and blood trickled from Nera's nose, which she quickly wiped away.

"Witch Mother, this one is like the twins...and the Prince," Nera said calmly. She wouldn't have interrupted Fleur in the middle of a CradleSnatching for anyone else. "You're a мутант...A strong one too, to have broken through our warding...Dedicated as well...But your potential is wasted. You are held back...Witch Mother, I believe we should let this one go...She has a strength to her that may prove valuable." Perhaps as a member of our Coven...

Outside the house, the Wendron Witches regarded the building with amusement. It was a symbol of their greatest foe and Jadis was quivering with expectation. On the day that they had gained control of the Castle, the Port Witch Coven would fall! And all on MidWinter Feast Day! She could not help but have a bright grin on her face, her witch blue eyes sparkling. Everything she had strove for would soon come to pass.

Jadis extended her arm, staring at the building. "Flash and flicker, the fire rages - burn this building like fresh pressed pages!" Jadis commanded. A great streak of fire burst from the sky and crashed into an invisible barrier of sorts on the outside of the Port Witch Coven House. She was not too surprised that the wards were still in place. It would have been too easy otherwise. "Come on, sisters - let us dismantle these pathetic wards together," she beckoned. The Wendron Witches all joined hands and began to chant.

Princess Luna

Location: Malekeith's Room, Port Witch Coven

Luna's eyes turned towards the door when Fleur came into the room, the other woman seemed to refer the blond woman as their Witch Mother, she was indeed in the hands of the Port Witches now. Visibly she remained still and calm, but internally Luna was screaming and she wanted to fight back and run away. But as much as she wanted to, she was under the spell when yet another woman came into the room, the girl's skin was pale and her hair was dark. Luna also noticed she wore all black as well, when Fleur told Nera to hold the new girl down she assumed that she was there to possibly rescue her, just as Fleur used her Darke Magyk to bind the woman with rope.

Luna felt the grip on her loosen on her somewhat, she felt disoriented as Fleur got down close to her telling her that this was much better for her. Luna didn't believe it at all, she wanted to be back in the Castle with Myrus, and Valda she was scared and alone with all of these witches. Luna's eyes wondered over towards Fleur as she started the CradelSnatching on her feeling the Magyk starting to touch her now, she looked up at the man who just stood outside of the door.

Luna listened to Nera speak, about the new girl noticing that the woman's nose bled slightly as she spoke to Fleur possibly recruiting the girl as well, calling her something that she didn't understand, but mentioned her brother as well. "It looks like things are going to be getting interesting." The voice in Luna's head finally spoke up as she noticed some flashes of light in the corner of her eye.

Atkin Bowman

Location: Palace: Lawn

As expected, everyone else in the crowd more or less shit their britches when he walked over to the now named dragon and its- rather her rider. Husband. It took a lot of self control not to refer to him as a lizard-shagger when he referred to Thalia as his "wifey" before she transformed into a human shape.

As far as the danger of his actions, of course he knew what he was doing was bloody dangerous. It was obvious in the situation. She was the size of several Ramblings buildings before shrinking down. But the thing about danger is that you shouldn't shirk away from it. Avoid it when you can, sure, but if it landed at your feet, you couldn't afford to pussy foot around with it. Like dealing with an feral dog. If you showed fear you were done for. Maybe that was just the street punk thinking, but he wasn't going to throw away a mindset that'd kept his ass intact just because he was in some green robes now.

As far as the ever present insistence that he mind his Ps and Qs? Fuck em. Today was not the day for him to think about If anyone's feelings were so fragile that a simple greeting bereft of copious amounts of formality were enough to send them in a hissy fit, maybe they deserved far, far worse than an "afternoon."

"Mm, fair enough. Atkin Bowman, ExtraOrdinary Wizard Apprentice at your service," he responded in kind to Richard, taking his hand firmly and shaking it, maintaining eye contact throughout just like his Pa instructed. It was a handshake that established trust. At least he hoped. Everyone else freaking out likely undermined whatever impact his own introduction had. But whatever, it seemed like Valda's bodyguard had them covered as far as finding their -ew- baby. So they were probably just going to get their business done and then go on their merry way somewhere else, which was fine by him.

Looking again, it seemed like everyone had more or less decided to do that as well. All the witches left to get Luna back, or more likely pull each other's hair out because they finally had a proper excuse to do it out in the one. The Young Army was already overextending any authority they might have had. Yeah, this Queenship was already going quite beautifully. Atkin just hoped that Valda would be able to reign everything in before things spiraled too out of hand.

The woman's body tensed when the rope suddenly bound itself around her, but she didn't seem particularly surprised. Nor did she immediately attempt to escape her prison. Her expression retained its sense of melancholy, if washed over by the more pertinent emotions of urgent need, frustration and regret. If she had anything to say, she certainly was in no mood to share with the witches (and Darke Wizard) that surrounded her. Rhys, however was able to get a bit of a read on her surface thoughts. It came in a few short disjointed flashes, but ultimately came out to something akin to:

Please, just go away! I don't want to have to kill you.

However, when Lilith began to CradleSnatch Luna, she could afford to stay still no longer. With a sudden surge of motion, she twisted and writhed enough to free herself from the confines of the rope. Distracted though two of the Magicians were, she was still outnumbered 3-to-1. So once she had freedom of movement once again, she pulled out a weapon from her person. Perhaps the only nonlethal instrument in the entire room: a club. Short, easily concealable, metallic and sturdy. It wouldn't do very well in a direct fight against someone armed with a proper weapon like a sword or a polearm, but in this small, cramped room it was more or less perfect for what it needed to do. Not to mention it was still perfectly capable of knocking out someone cold and with enough determination and willpower, end a life.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: The Palace Lawn

Things shifted again as Cuyler watched the crowd being escorted away from the dragon who turned into a woman. Arya moved away from him to focus her attention on the potential threat who seemed to be here for their child. A child that Lyra apparently knew the location of. This day was only growing more bizarre by the moment. He ran a hand over his hair, straightening his furs before he looked over the rest of the crowd on stage. Everyone’s attention was on the pair of newcomers and each person seemed to have their own agenda for them. Cuyler stood out of the way as best he could while he put his observation to good use and watched each person in turn, trying to get a read on them as they advanced through the palace gardens.
It was peculiar that Halley would be a friend, one that thrived on chaos but with her siblings they created balance. There always needed to be extremes, two opposites of a line but they always came together in the middle. Cuyler was sure Halley would help them. It was destined and he believed that wholeheartedly. The stars would speak their tale tonight and it being the shortest day of the year, Cuyler only needed to wait a couple more hours before the stars would really start to show. He glanced up at the sky then, where one could see a portion of the moon and a few bright stars beginning to show already.

Amarantha

Location: The Palace Lawn

Surprisingly, Valda had agreed with Amarantha to remain behind. This allowed Amarantha and the Wendron Witches to depart quickly without the need to assign security to the Queen. The Port was a place strongly cemented into Amarantha’s memory. Even though she was taken at a young age, that smell and feel of wind on her skin never left her memories. She stepped up the Port Witch Coven’s house. She remembered this place from her memories as well. It was a place the orphaned and neglected children often went to on dares or other childish games. Some were even said to have disappeared on the rare occasion the front door opened. None of these worries of fears went through Amarantha’s head as she stepped up to the dark building and surveyed its surroundings. Every place had a stronghold and a weak point, she was about to find theirs when a great wall of fire came down from the sky. It bounced off a barrier, doing zero damage and then Jadis began to speak again. Amarantha had jumped back from the fires impact. She immediately drew a knife, ready for whatever came out of the fire or the house in retaliation. When nothing presented itself she turned slightly, glaring at the witches who began to chant. So clearly they didn’t care all too much if the Princess Luna died, just that they ended their witch rivales. The Deputy Hunter wasn’t too sure how to feel about that predicament; however, the spell bounced. This showed her that there was no way to safely get in until these wards were down.
Amarantha took to guard duty, walking around the witches in slow, ever changing steps. She kept one eye on the Coven house and one on the barge. Waiting for it to make it’s slow progress into the Port. At least she would have her back up to assist her in getting Luna out safely.
She removed another knife from her belt and began twirling them in unison around her fingers before switching to flipping it back and forth while the Witches made their progress. The air seemed to shift around Amarantha and she turned her head in time, hair blowing back around her, to watch the windows be blown out from the house. She turned away, covering her head and waited for the tinkling of glass hitting the ground to stop. Once the sound cleared she looked back to see that the door had been splintered open. A evil smile rose to meet her lips at the sight. A simple yet welcomed sight as it finally gave them the access they had been waiting for. Amarantha flipped her knives back, the coolness of the handles comforting in her palms as she walked forwards. She stepped over glass and the cracked wood that littered the ground outside the house and inside on the floor. She looked around the deserted front room and began to hum to herself. It was an old song the children used to sing while playing games in the streets. It spoke of creatures appearing out of the night, their form continually changing into the thing you feared most. One, two… She’s coming for you… Three, four… Here he climbs the walls… It wasn’t the most pleasant thing but it had almost become habitual for her to sing it.
She felt her companions come in behind her. She looked left than right before giving a simple nod. Two fanned around the edges while one went back outside to secure the back. From here on out Amarantha’s mind was on one thing and one thing only. The survival of Luna. The Wendron Witches were here for the blood of their rivals but if they stepped in her way or proved to be a hindrance in the mission she was tasked with, more than just the Port Witch Coven’s blood would be spilt. Amarantha had no problem throwing the head of Puck’s sister at his feet if she proved to be the problem.
As Girl 603 and Boy 604 moved out, Amarantha took another step forward but no more as one witch descended from the stairs and three more out of the hallway.
“We did knock,” she said sweetly. Their eyes narrowed and their lips began to move. Amarantha shifted and looked at the witches behind her. ”If you wouldn’t mind,” she said. With a nod from Jadis and sweet gesture to have their fun, the witches moved forward to take on their enemy. Amarantha however remained focused on Jadis.
”If you would follow me Witch Mother, I may be in need of your assistance if the Princess is well guarded.”
As the room began to light up in front of them, Amarantha took Jadis. They moved around the mass of witches doing battle in what remained of the front room. It took time but they moved undetected and reached the hallway the three witches had emerged from earlier.
The fighting continued on in the room behind them. Two Port Witches would fall at the hands of then Wendron Witches, leaving two left but the casualties weren’t all one sided. One of the Wendron Witches perished as well.
There weren’t many rooms to choose from and on the third kick of opening doors, Amarantha found her target. Luna sat on the bed, surrounded by three people. The Hunter was able to survey the room quickly, using her skill of perception that had given her promise at an early age. It was in this that she saw that the closest witch to Luna was attempting to Cradlesnatch her. With a flash of movement, Amarantha grabbed the Fast Freeze Charm on her person and threw it into the room. It effectively froze everyone in the room, leaving her and Jadis who remained outside the room and to her immense pleasure, Luna unfrozen.
”Princess Luna, we have been sent by your sister to retrieve you. If you would please hurry.” Amarantha spoke rather calmly to the Princess, not wanting to frighten her more than she already looked. They were, after all, on a trial run of sorts. If Amarantha secured the Princess, there would be no doubt about the Young Army.

Richard Laine

Location: The Palace

The man looked in amusement down at Atkin, his serpentine eyes never wavering. What a odd little fool this one was! He was a brave lad, Richard would give him that. But one did not charge up to a dragon and a stranger without some caution. "Some advice, lad. Keep yourself with caution." Patting the youngest on the shoulder, Richard's broad hand fell away as a woman walked up. Not only did she walk up, this Lyra Laurerk pronounced she knew where his child was! The man stiffened and there was a deep aggressiveness in his stance and eyes that spoke volumes to those who knew him.

The Adder drew a deadly hiss, as he chained his temper. This woman had not kidnapped his offspring nor did she seem to offer the mother of said child any harm, Richard reminded himself. It was hard enough when Ayita showed interesting in a young man... To have his own child! It was nerve wracking on the man. "Please." The word and the nod of the head were polite enough, but Richard's tone was nothing short of a command. Refusal would be met with violence, unless it was Thalia. For she was the mother and mother's had a sense about their children.

Rhys Asher

Location: The Palace

Rhys shifted into a fighting stance as the stranger snapped the ropes and drew a bludgeoning club. So she didn't want to fight them? But she was fully prepared to. It was curious. Turning a glance towards Nera the rogue gave a dry comment. "Care to repeat that for those that don't understand foreign garble, lovely?" But it didn't matter in the end, Rhys thought with some amusement. This wasn't his fight. Rather it was just a means to the end of the ExtraOrdindary Wizard and all those who would not yield the position to him when he chose to take it.

His ambitions had grown and he wanted more than just the death of Blaine and Arya. He wanted them all dead and him on the top. Controlling the Castle and the city. A puppet master pulling the strings from behind. "My dear, perhaps it is time to take me up on my suggestion. You know very well how to get in." The Wizard commented to the Witch Mother, careful to keep his tone light and neutral. Yet, he did not care for being weaponless against this strange woman, and if he knocked her out or maimed her enough to twist her to his ends?

[color=Gold]"Make a sword, balance and true. Transmute the club that lies before me to rusted flakes." The Wizard reached out with magyck in an attempt to up the field against the woman. Doubtless she would be just as dangerous, but he would rather she not have a weapon to brain him with.

Queen Valda amd Thalia Maehers

Location: The Palace - Lawn

Valda was just looking at the two, edging a little closer to her younger brother. Lyra seemed to know where the child was that they were looking for, so she hoped that the problem with the dragon was resolved rather quickly. She did not know what else to do regarding that situation, and she hoped that the Young Army and Wendron Witches would be able to rescue her younger sister, she was worried about Luna, and she hoped that they returned soon with good news. She glanced at Myrus for a moment, listening to his words, unsure of what to say about them.

Thalia looked at Atkin, shaking her head slightly. The boy knew absolutely nothing about what he was doing, or who he was talking to, so she didn't make a comment about how Richard spoke to him. Someone needed to teach him a few manners or something from the sounds of it. She turned to face Lyra, glad that someone knew something about their child, the woman seemed to have better manners than the boy did, and she was starting to debate about whether or not she'd swallow Atkin or not.

"...Before you go anywhere Lyra, there is something that should be done first," Valda said, looking over at her. It was something she had been thinking about, especially because of how much Lyra tended to try and protect her. "I know that this is sort of sudden... But I'm going to make you a Knight Lyra, so congrats..." she said, twisting her curls slightly, she didn't really know what she was doing, and it was the best that she could do now.

Thalia smiled slightly at the woman, glad that Lyra seemed to be a kind person, and she was glad that it was her that had found the egg. The woman seemed like a trustworthy person, especially if the newly crowned Queen was deciding to make her a Knight right now. "Thank you Miss Laurek, I would be grateful if you could take us there," she said, her tone of voice even and steady, calming almost. Lyra was not someone that Thalia actually wanted to scare, unless she threatened the child of course.

- Madeline Bridges

Location: The Palace Lawn

Out of the corner of her eye, Lyra caught sight of the small puppy running across the lawn, followed promptly by its handler, but she didn't think much of it as her mind was preoccupied by other more important things. She glanced back at Arya and nodded her head at the ExtraOrdinary Wizard's words, before dutifully returning her attention to Lady Maehers and Lord Laine.

She flinched almost imperceptibly as Richard hissed at her, and her hand started to instinctively gravitate to the hilt of her sword before she quickly stopped its trajectory. She instead chose to lace her hands in front of her. Drawing a weapon would surely only make matters much, much worse, and at the moment, she had more than just her own safety to be concerned about. She was fully aware of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard and the ExtraOrdinary Wizard Apprentice flanking her as well as her Queen, Asha, Cuyler, Myrus, and a handful of others not far behind her. Not to mention there were still many civilians attempting to escape The Palace Lawn. No, enough blood had already been shed this day.

Lyra graciously bowed her head to Richard before her gaze drifted to Thalia in order to see her reaction. Yet, before the woman could reply Lyra heard her Queen speak up. She turned to face Valda for a moment, curtsying and averting her gaze respectfully to her. As her gaze slowly came back up though, shock registered on her face at Valda's proclamation, and her breath escaped her in a small gasp. She blinked rapidly as if to wake herself up, or perhaps it was to keep back the tears that threatened to fall. She glanced back at Thalia and Richard, biting her lip before looking back at her Queen. "I-I am honored beyond words, Your Grace. But can we please wait until after I reunite these parents with their child? Surely they have waited long enough?" she finally spoke up, once again putting others before herself. If the Queen agreed to her request, she would then lead Thalia and Richard to her chambers where she had the dragon egg safely tucked away.

Fleur La Mallificum

Location: Port Witch Coven

Fleur worked her magic on Luna, continuing to CradleSnatch her when things went to shit. Not only did her rope bind break, but she could feel the presence of Magyk gathering outside. They would be attacked soon and she was not about to lose her mark too.

The flash came suddenly, but not unexpectantly. Charms were part of every witch's knowledge. As soon as the stun flash occurred, she fought back, breaking out of the stun without a sweat. She continued her Magyk, not breaking concentration from Luna for a second, even when the stranger in the room got out and away from Rhys and Nera.

Still, it was done. Fleur, with a flourish of dark energy, finished her spell. She stood up, away from the girl sitting on the bed with the woman. "You are too late, though your efforts were impressive. Nera, Rhys, take care of this woman. I give you permission to do what you wish. She would make a wonderful addition to our flock."

She turned with a flourish outside as the other witches and warlocks scrambled to hold. She felt her numbers dwindle, but she was not scared. Far from it, she was motivated. "To arms, my sisters and brothers. We fight to our last breath!" Fleur summoned whatever energy she could muster, ready to face the oncoming onslaught. They would break the barriers soon and she needed to be ready.

Present Day - The Castle: December 21st, 12,507 - 2:15 PM

The Ramblings is well known for being a wild and chaotic place. When it was first created, individuals in need of housing would build a few connected homes and take one for themselves. The next group would then take their place and in this fashion, it eventually turned into this mile and a half long living community. With odd twists and turns, staircases that go to nowhere and parts of it still unfinished, quirky is perhaps the only proper descriptor of it. But despite how crowded it is, there is truly no better place to live in the Castle. Everything you need is simply there. It's filled with schools and bazars, stores and doctors offices, homes and theaters, friends and restaurants.

Even the underground has made its home in the Ramblings, although it's rarely talked about beyond hushed whispers. Whatever you require, for better or for worse, it is already there. You could live a full and content life without ever leaving the Ramblings, perhaps venturing up to one of the rooftop gardens just in order to see the sun rise above the trees of the Forest. In fact, one former Castle Queen grew up in the Ramblings, with a cupboard drawer for a bed as a baby (she was noted to have been rather small and tiny).

In the Winking Duck Tavern - colloquially referred to as just the Yellow Duck due to its yellow door - bards were often invited to perform. With the sudden influx of people fleeing the coronation ceremony, things were incredibly busy and packed. There was even an informal bet going on as to whether or not the Ramblings would withstand an attack by the Young Army. Sentiment towards the new Queen had taken a harsh turn, ever since the Young Army decided they were able to act as if the Castle were under martial law.

An old man currently operated the tavern, barely able to get the spiked FizzFroot drinks that the younger crowd was so fond of flowing. "You know back in my day, if you talked about Queen Kaimana like that, she'd have thrown you in Dungeon One!"

There was a young man there at the bar, who let out a small chuckle. He had slightly long, dark brown hair and lightly tanned skin, and had on a pair of glasses as he looked at the old man. "How little you know... That family line has had to deal with people thinking poorly of them and talking poorly about them before. Now, where could my sister have gotten to?"

"Вероватно је трчала после неког штенета ... Осим ако не мислите на једну од друге две," a silver haired girl muttered, as she and her identical twin walked inside, sitting down next to the man.

He let out another laugh when the twins showed up. "Do not get me started on her chasing after puppies! Try growing up with that. I remember, one time, my father counted up how many puppies where there, and there were one hundred and one, all the same type of dog too," the man said, shaking his head before he turned to look at them. "Now, you two really should not be criminals, like at all. Apparently you two take more after one side of your family line than the other, but still."

Arya Rincewind & Myrus Silvers

Location: The Palace Lawns

Arya began to feel greatly uncomfortable, for Atkin's sake, with the man Lyra was happily referring to as Lord Laine. She supposed it was a fitting title, for the herald of a dragon. While to some the dynamic of the female dragon being seen as higher would be odd - especially from earlier times - it wasn't surprising to Arya nor Myrus. Some countries in the world were patriarchies - some were evenly balanced amongst the genders - and others, like the Castle, were matriarchies. Puck was about to join the group heading inside to get the child, when Emperor Taj stuck out a hand, blocking the far shorter man's path.

"That is a family affair," Taj said sternly.

"And you would not wish to interrupt it, no?" Asha added, her necklace shimmering. Arya turned her gaze and looked at the necklace for a moment. It felt familiar to her, the energy that it was emitting, but she couldn't quite place it. Yet it was not any sort of Magyk - none that she knew of. But that in itself gave her an idea - there were others skilled in a Magyk that many dismissed, yet had real results. It had failed to heal the Queen, but perhaps...perhaps it would explain the kidnapping of Princess Luna.

"Please do hurry and fetch the child for them," Arya finally said to Lyra, before she returned her gaze to Asha. "The gem you wear - what is its nature?"

"I cannot tell you that, Ms. Rincewind," Asha replied calmly.

Arya frowned, staring at Asha. She judged Asha to be slightly younger than she was and the purple stone she wore bothered her. She hadn't seen any reference to something like it in the Pyramid Library, but she knew the ideal place to look - as well as for answers of any sort when it came to this business. Once the Royal Family was secure, she would be taking her apprentice with her on a trip to the Manuscriptorium. Too much strangeness had occurred to afford otherwise.

Rowland chuckled slightly. "Well, that is the most informal knighting I've ever seen - and about time, too. Those ceremonies were getting to be too fussy for what they were worth," he commented. He tipped the rim of his hat to Valda, having found a bit of merriment in what had been a dark and grim hour. However, Myrus was not nearly as fortunate. He was still as white as a sheet and with the look of terror on his face, one would believe Malekith had chosen to Appear to him.

"SHE'S GOING TO KILL YOU!" Myrus screamed, before blood started gushing from his nose. He stumbled backwards, grabbing onto one of the chairs only for it to shimmer a slight shade of pink and then explode. Bits of wood sprayed everywhere and luckily, no one was injured but Myrus' hair was standing up straight, as if he had stuck his finger in an outlet. He looked at Valda, terrified, before he went back to his muttering.

"...Queen Valda, I believe there is something just wrong with your brother," Puck muttered.

Nera Hawthorn

Location: Port Witch Coven House

Outside of Malekith's room, the fighting raged on. Although there were more Wendron Witches than Port Witches, the Port Witch Coven practiced Darke Magyk. Specifically designed to kill and torture, their spells packed a little more bite to them than the Wendron Witches' could. One Port Witch - who just so happened to be Malekith's mother - sensed that the battle could still be won, but knowing they were injured leapt forward towards the coordinated strike force. They then summoned all of the Magyk they could and detonated themselves like a bomb, killing seven Wendron Witches and Girl 603, as well as injuring Boy 604 and another Wendron Witch severely.

The other remaining Port Witch, limping from a nasty hex that - shockingly - Little-Bell Dreamfree had sent at her, turned to throw a Consumption spell at the girl. The Port Witch still had Fleur and Nera to count on, as well as the reserves at the safehouse with the children. But the Wendron Witches? They had sent everyone they had, except for Queen Valda. Either side could still easily win at this point.

Inside Malekith's room, things are getting hectic, to say the least...

Rhys' Transmutation spell fails, as he's still Frozen from Amarantha's charm. Between flirting with Fleur and the ice, his concentration just wasn't enough. "Typical wizard," Nera murmured with a sigh, as she Unfroze herself by muttering the Reverse. It was a relatively simple feat to undo a FastFreeze Charm. They were intended to be used on wild animals and any witch worth her salt knew the Reverse, just in case she accidentally Froze herself in place. "Slither and writhe, feel the venom its fangs may hide!" Nera chanted, summoning a snake with Darke energy.

The spell was successful and the snake hit the ground, slithering and hissing at the stranger. It hadn't moved in for the attack yet. Jadis then Unfroze herself in turn, looking at Amarantha with some irritation. "Only my brother's pet whore could ruin a perfect day," Jadis muttered under her breath, her good mood souring. She felt the loss of members in her Coven as well and she was worried. It didn't bode well. She then heard Fleur complete the CradleSnatching and she felt livid. As if she was going to allow Fleur to take away her throne - she meant Valda's throne, of course....

"Do you think you'll actually manage to keep her?" Jadis taunted Fleur, staring at her. "You know as well as I do that the Queen knows a Reverse that if done within the hour can undo a CradleSnatching...Do you think it was easy when we snatched sweet Valda from her crib?"

Of course, Jadis didn't have any intention of returning Luna to her sister alive. She knew that Queens rarely ever got a chance to perform a Reverse and undo the CradleSnatching. The time limit on the spell made it essentially useless.
