The Story to date:
Our story takes place on the world of Molov. A formally Imperial held Civilized world only light years away from the edge of the great rift. And it was perhaps no surprise that the world was quick to fall to chaos during the 13th crusade. Before the chaos invasion following the great rift, the Planetary capital of Torantos alone had a population of approximately ten million souls. One hundred years on and its doubtful than any loyal blood remains.
As warp storms plaguing the Dark Imperium abate and the Indomintus Crusade gives the New Lord Regent room to breath and re-assess his strategies. The Imperium can now look to re-conquering some of its fallen worlds and taking a more aggressive approach to their strategies. Worlds like Molov with their heavy infrastructure and manufactory capabilities have become like precious gems to the forces of the Dark Imperium. Ones whose potential production capabilities were well worth sacrificing for.
On-top of that, Dante knows that he needs to show progress to all denizens of the Imperium Nihilus, and give hope to its many beleaguered worlds under his protection and too his legions of enemies both heretic and xeno that the teeth of Imperium are still sharp. The re-conquest of dozens of worlds like Molov are being launched across the darkened stars, hoping to throw chaos onto the back foot and give hope to his own armies. The ever fickle masters of chaos, even now with their demon forces beat upon the defenses of the new Lord Regent Dante, testing the strength of his resolve and pushing to consolidate their gains after the Indomintus crusade crushed their advances.
To this effect, Your 'regiment' has been in transit for several weeks, making only short warp jumps a few days a a time to ensure the Imperium's deadly cargo reaches the world safely. Our regiment was officially born in those long weeks between warzones. As shattered remnants of regiments were coralled back on board the transport ships, whether broken from a campaign or liberated as The Lord Commander's fleets rushed out to shore up and answer whatever desperate please for aid could still be heard. It became clear that the simplest solution (for the department) was just to shove all of these broken regiments and their surviving assets into one unified and strong fighting body. And for someone unaware of anything to do with the military it certainly looks like a simple, clean idea on parchment. You are all members of the various types of Imperial Guard units. Whether you be a Tallarn, or maybe even a Vostroyan, or an Ogryn or Ratling, you are the last hope for the world of Molov.
