@Andreyich Your good now, but I can't help but notice your lacking flak armour. Usually a bad idea when entering a warzone

@Kipsateking You're good.

@Lady Selune Is that stubber a sidearm or a rifle? its a little vague. An autopistol is probably easier to find ammo for in the guard than stub weapons, And fairly common sidearms but your good either way.

@Ollumhammersong
That was my bad I thought ratlings didn't get armour but I checked my 'dex and they do. I gave him a mesh vest instead of flak since it's more flexible to move in but his joint protection is still flak to help climbing. No helmet because I learned from TF2 that hats are sexier. All good now?

@Eisenhorn A few things. One is that this is taking place over a hundred years after Cadia fell. But your world took the brunt of the Black crusade during the all the craziness and held out for decades? Basically i'm wondering how your character would be old enough to remember his world.

Also your weapons are pretty crazy for a line trooper. i'm iffy on the specialized stub rounds, Which also carries over into the blind grenades. I am going to say nothing that fancy in a regiment that's supposed to be understrength and scraping to get by. I'm fine with you having the revolver as a sidearm in general.

But pair that all with a pimped out lasgun and a chainsword... I'm going to say no to the chainsword. If you want your regiment to have some sort of culturally unique standard issue combat knife/shortsword catachan or Tanith style that's cool. The Lasgun pattern fits with the theme your trying to go for and that's cool to.

@Andreyich ya, that's fine.

@Searat I mean, the first picture has the same problem as the last. No face. It's a cool concept, but I still don't have an idea of what your character looks like.

As for the second one. It works I suppose as far as the face goes. A bit heavy duty and now I am worried about everyone seemingly trying to take carapace armour. And no for the hotshot lasgun

@Ollumhammersong Concerns are good, it means things needed to be fixed even if I didn't realize it. I'll list off changes in order of noted concerns.

My apologies for missing the mark on the date, altered it so the fall of his planet (Which is now a mining world, to better fit other changes) occurred ninety years after Cadia fell, so its only a ten year gap between the current events and his lost homeworld. Does that work better for you?

In regards to equipment, the stub revolver had any mention of specialty rounds dropped, blind was replaced with frags (Noting he only ever has, at most, one or two depending on scavanging or supply luck), and the chainsword dropped completely. Instead, it was noted that mining picks were altered for battle and carried instead, though they are two handed affairs typically. Is that still considered too far, I can certainly go the knife/shortsword route if it is. Which means the only weapon of any unusual quality is the custom lasgun pattern, assuming the mining pick isn't considered unreasonable.

Can i keep the first one and just provide an extra picture to what he looks like underneath?
Also, I apologize if I'm bothering you with this too much.

Update

If none are suitable enough. I'll just scrap the picture in the CS and use bullet points to describe what he looks like but keep a picture of the one you liked as reference to his Appearance in full Combat Gear.

@Lady Selune personality wise their are definite similarities. But there are also definite differences in skills and equipment. Enough so that i wasn't worried about it overlapping too much myself.

You guys both have good characters. But if you guys want to talk something out between yourselves, then by all means.

@Searat I'll allow it, you'll have to change your sheet around a bit if you want to go the fuedal origin route

Neither of the two pictures you just recently provided are suitable. Please think less fantasy, more 40k

Name: Arkan Dissilden

Character Description: Arkan is... Relatively average. He's not tall, not short, not fat, not thin. Being a soldier, he has muscle, of course, but his only real curious feature is his eyes- which are a bright blue colour. He's slightly darker skinned, and is also fairly tanned on top of that, making him look darker than he actually is. He makes a point to remain clean-shaven, but has his hair slightly long, pulling it back into a knot if it would get in the way.

Role: Dannandorf 32nd Sentinel Division (Prior.) Scout Sentinel Auxiliary (Current.)

Specialities:
  • Vehicle piloting and repair. Need him to drive a tank? Tracked vehicle qualifications. Sentinel? That's his job! Wheeled vehicles... Everything on the ground he can probably drive it, and repair it too. Mostly, it's the same underneath the hood.
  • Demolitions. Satchel charges, promethium, IEDs, grenade launchers. Tools of the trade when it comes to making sure something stops existing.
  • Communications. Rule one of being in a command vehicle: The officer never knows how the radios work. Ever. Rule two: The next time the commissar is about to summarily execute someone, it'll be you if you belittle the commander for not knowing how to repair a radio.

Characteristics:
Weapon Skill: 5
Ballistic Skill: 5
Strength: 7
Toughness: 2
Agility: 5
Intelligence: 8
Perception: 7
Willpower: 5
Fellowship: 6

Equipment: –
  • 'My Darling:' Cadia pattern scout sentinel. Repair tools have been strapped to almost every part of the vehicle, camo netting has been strung across the vehicle, and floodlights have been retrofitted along with smoke launchers. It's far more than your average autogun-kitted scout.
  • Combat shotgun. Strapped to the inside of the sentinel is his old trusty. Made in his home planet, it sports a lovely wooden finish, and a leather strap, with the number of kills that Arkan has earned with it carved into the stock. Currently, it has seven neatly carved notches.
  • Laspistol. At his hip always. As standard as standard comes.
  • Various repair tools. On and around his sentinel. Some can even be co-opted into close combat tools, such as his specially sharpened shovel, crowbar, sledgehammer... And hatchet.

Personality:
  • Optimistic. "It's a good job we're fighting a long way from home. Means the folk there are safe, and we can fight to make sure they stay safe.
  • Instructing. "You tighten that... Yes, yes, like that. Then, use the wrench to pull that bit down, and clip in that. See, not so hard, is it?
  • Private. "My home world? Dannandorf. What's it like? I'd prefer not to say, really."

History:
  • Born on Dannandorf, an agri-world.
  • Utterly unremarkable until he joined the PDF, and later guard. Experience with tractors led to him becoming a tanker.
  • Served in a Leman Russ for several years, and then a Chimera Command Tank. Finally placed into a scout sentinel.

@Irredeemable your math for your characteristic scores is off.

As far as the sentinel goes. If you want an armoured sentinel you could just ask for one. And if you want a scout sentinel take a scout sentinel. Pick the one you like the sound of the most. Keeping in mind how the mechabicus tends to view custom modifications.

@Lady Selune Didn't do a real close read of other characters, so any potential similarities in character was unintentional. I did notice the little flavor text thing you had done first, and thought it was a clever idea, so did something similar to that.

I do see a couple of things that do seem close to each other, upon closer inspection, but I personally wouldn't call them really similar.
