Premise

In 2000 people began developing powers and abilities. They came in four kinds and the United Nations began assigning and labeling those with abilities by different names depending on their powers as most countries followed along with the labels. Troubadours, those with psychokinesis or telekinesis abilities; Apostles, those who were able to see visions of the future; Paladins, whose abilities were to conjure and manipulate energy; and Elixirs, who were able to heal others.

Most governments in major countries secretly began hunting down and experimenting on those people with powers and abilities, trying to understand how each power worked and to see if they could use it to benefit themselves, thus began the arms race for superhuman abilities and the secret capture of citizens all over the world.

The current year is 2032 and most of the world has stayed the same and the United States is no different. Those with abilities try to hide it from the outside world as there have been stories of people disappearing once they announce that they have powers, being captured and taken to labs to be poked and prodded with needles, to become a science experiment for crazed doctors and scientists, or even worse, to be slaughtered and killed. Those are all just dark rumors though and the only ones who know the truth are those within the government and a small task force simply known as Paragon.

Paragon's main goal is to hunt down and capture people with powers and abilities, returning them to facilities placed all across the United States in hopes to find out ways to enhance their powers. They are being used by the United States government to make sure the U.S. is going to be the first to achieve a breakthrough in the arms race for superhuman powers.

Where we begin is in a facility located in New York City. The building is located in Lower Manhattan of New York City, disguising itself as a pharmaceutical company called Aceso Medical. Deep underneath Aceso Medical and the streets of New York City are the underground laboratories and cells that people with powers and abilities are kept locked up and experimented on.

Each of our characters will have various abilities at different levels, but the goal is the same. Our characters are trying to survive and escape, but with no where to run and no plans, all they can do is wait. They have to wait for the right time to strike but they aren't even allowed to socialize with one another let alone move without one of the doctors, nurses, or guards seeing them.

We're aiming for a casual to high casual roleplay, and in turn that means no one-liners. Also please consider the amount of effort the others in the roleplay put into their posts as you should read theirs before posting yours in case the posts don't align. This goes with respect as you should respect the other writers in their efforts as they should do to yours as well.

If you have any issues with the posting rate please let me know. I myself know that life can hit at any time, so just keeping us in the loop will help everyone and the flow of the roleplay keep steady!

COLLABORATIONS
I'm all for collaborating posts, so if you and another writer have something in mind then go for it. I know for you shippers this is a fun thing to do.

MATURE THEMES (+18)
Drugs, alcohol, and other mature themes are more or less a thing in this roleplay, if necessary in the overall scene. Think of it as a movie, it doesn't go into super detail, just touches on whatever is needed. Also death is a thing, our characters CAN die.

ABILITIES

Troubadour - Telekinesis is the main ability of Troubadours as they are able to control others and objects without any physical interaction. Without proper training and experience the user's telekinesis can sometimes become uncontrollable and ends up in havoc and chaos, also leading to the death of the Troubadour and those around them. As they are using their powers, the Troubadour is often heard chanting incomprehensible words, which is where their names come from.

Apostle - An Apostle's ability is their visions of the future. Most of these visions are vague and filled with useless information, but it is up to the Apostle to figure out the meaning behind the vision and what it entails. They are the only ones who can deliver the messages sent from these visions.

Paladin - Paladin's draw their abilities from their life energy, being able to conjure and use both large and small amounts depending on their own strengths and needs. Like most of the abilities a Paladin's power varies from user to user depending on their experience, but overuse of a Paladin's power can drain the user of all of their life force or essence which can lead to their death.

Elixir - Healing others is what Elixir's are able to do. Being able to cure most flesh wounds with ease, it's the internal wounds, and illnesses that take an experienced Elixir's to cure. Even with that, most of the time it is only a relief for the time being with most of the damage still there unless the Elixir is willing to sacrifice their own life.

personality:// Sage has an extremely unstable sense of self and his personality can come off as insincere. He has a bit of an attitude problem and tends to act out as a means of garnering attention or infamy. He wants to be seen as unflinching and unbreakable. This nature can often lead to him being very rude and making nasty commentary, he seemingly wants to start drama. When provoked, his temper can quickly spiral out of control and swing into violence.

He is extremely confident and cocky, though this front is a little transparent and can make other parties unsure if he actually likes himself as much as he acts like he does. He tends to act as if he's invincible and maintains something of a God complex. He can be extremely reckless at times and make split second decisions, he often gets into bad situations because of this. He's very restless and becomes bored easily.

Despite his mostly negative qualities, he maintains a kind of gallow's humor about his situation. The jokes tend to be grim but it seems to help him keep a steady head about everything that's going on. He's also a bit flirtatious but his flirtations are of a passive nature, he doesn't take them very seriously. He can be a good conversationalist if one can get past his many, varying moods and has a quick wit about him. He favors sarcasm and observational humor.

Would wake up, spend all day following after a selfish CEO and doing her best to make him look good for a shitty paycheck, and then return at night with sore feet to a cup of ramen and a cigarette. She was able to hang out with her friends on the odd weekend but mostly spent her time alone. It was a lonely existence but at least it kept her busy. She hated boredom more than she hated her job.

Then, she moved a pencil. Just knocked it off a table after staring at it in silent boredom for the longest. For the longest time she'd thoughts she'd gone mad. How else would she explain it? Eventually she started picking up on patterns of when she was able to use it the easiest but it didn't really mean much. She was a normal woman with a normal job and a surprisingly low grip on her sanity. She didn't want some superpower she'd never really get to use, didn't think it did her any good at least. All it did was further isolate herself and put her further off tempo then the rest of the world. I mean, could you see the headlines?: The Incredible Assistant! What will she do next? Get her boss a coffee probably... with her mind!

She likes to think that she's a pretty okay person, polite at least, if a bit curt and short. But, she already had 3 really good friends. What else did she need, really? There was no point to her being nice... nothing good came from it, she found. It would hold no baring on her life, at least. She had more important things to worry about than if she was cold to a random passerby on the street. She's not a good person but she's not a bad one either. She prefers the term... neutral.

Ivory hates sweet things, much preferring spice and sour. (Unless it's ice cream because... ice cream.)

Ivory was actually mute for almost 5 years after her pet dog Jamie died.

Ivory is almost constantly in a state of boredom, and finds most people to be boring. Hence her disconnect to most of the world around her.

Had to change her power last second BUT it still works, heh. Would've gone with Paladin BUT... *shrugs* Have a bored PA.

That's a really good question. I think we can find some way to work it in. Maybe either for plot purposes they can envision more vague things like... an explosion in the lab, but not knowing which one or what day, someone seeing a spider, but not seeing the face of the person that said spider is coming out of, and whichever person wants that to be them can role-play it out or kind of dibs it.

And as for visions that help further the plot we can talk about it through pms to give it a bit more flow too!
