A WH40K Black Templars RP
Currently accepting new players
Summary:
- A jaunt of daring and do within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and setting.
- Characters for this RP will be limited to Initiates and Neophytes, there will be 'leadership' roles in the form of specialists (tecchies, apothecaries, and so forth) which shall be limited to one.
- Violence is mandatory, but don't overdo it.
- Our tale takes place in the most up-to-date period of 40K time line, about ca. 111.M42 after 'The Plague Wars'.
- This is an Astartes RP, but more specifically one concerning the Black Templars – fanatical warrior-monks of the God-Emperor, based on the crusading orders of the medieval period. Their names, armour and so forth reflect this, so bear this in mind when crafting your character sheet.
- I do not require perfect grammar, nor character sheets as long as my arm, but what I do require is effort put into both CS's and IC posts. Keep them a decent – or above decent – length, and make sure spelling etc is up to snuff. Not hard with a Spell-checker.
- The Astartes are the best-of-the-best, but even they are ultimately mortal, so I want to see some grit and 'realism' in this – no marine running off on their own, no overkill, and so on.
- Character sheets will be accepted based on merit alone, not 'first come first serve'; the more odd/powerful your character, the more exceptional your character sheet will need to be.
- I fully expect, and intend, for characters to evolve over time during this RP. An example might be that someone loses a limb and seeks a bionic replacement, whether they get one will be both up to me as GM and the participants as a whole; character sheets will then be edited to show any changes, as with a TT role-playing game, and just remember that every action will likely have some form of reaction.

In Character Info:
Fighting Company Scaro “The Hammers of Scaro” re-entering realspace after becoming embroiled in what we can only assume to be a warp storm of extreme proportions, location is unknown, and the date is uncertain, our company strength is down to sixty-three combatants and seventeen wounded – company veterans all but non-existent – but we endure as only the sons of Dorn can endure, partially stranded at this moment aboard the Vanguard Cruiser Warspite on our way to a classified location.
This is a message to all vessels, friendly or otherwise; do not hinder us, or you shall know the wrath of the God-Emperor and his most furious angels of death.

Out of character info:
Welcome, one and all, to the grim darkness of the future where their is only war!
In this RP we/you/the writers/players shall be taking on the roll of a survivor of Fighting Company Scaro – named after their wounded Castellan Scaro – a group now made up primarily of 'line troops', those being Initiates and their respective Neophytes, due to high rates of combat seen and substituent attrition.
Dispatched from a larger crusading fleet toward the Gothic Sector, the Cruiser and company were entangled within the gaping galactic rift known to Imperial scholars as the Cicatrix Maledictum; upon re-entry into the material realm once more, in the Immaterium for less than a few minutes by their counting, it transpired that not only were they disastrously off course from their objective rally point, but centuries had passed during their time in the warp. The Rift now split the Milky Way galaxy in two, and the Hammers of Scaro now find themselves on the wrong side of it – dead bang in the Emperor knew where!
Taking command of the remaining brothers (and soon-to-be-brothers) of the Fighting Company for the foreseeable future, Brother-Chaplain Sibrand – one of the few veterans of the Fighting Company still in active service within the formation – aims to discover the answers both to immediate questions, and to the future of he and his comrades-in-arms.
I expect everyone will have some knowledge of Warhammer 40K, but for those that might lack a little, I have always found warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Warhammer… to be one of the best places to look. Just make certain that the information has a source, otherwise it is very likely fan made and therefore not canon.

Please submit your character sheets by Private Message to me, myself and I - once accepted you can post them in the Char tab.
Name: Your character's name. A pretty obvious one, so enough said.

Rank/Position: His rank, obviously.
Power Armour History: What deeds has it seen? Who has it protected and armoured? Why was it given to this particular marine? Or is there nothing special about it at all...
Description: A written description of your character's appearance. No pictures. Please include here any armour or clothing as well.
Skills: What skills do they possess, how did they come by them, what have they used/been using them for?
History: A sketch of your character's life and history, preferably until their arrival at the fortress.
Equipment and Armament: What do they bring with them/carry on their person? This includes weapons. Be sensible when deciding, as weight can be an issue even for a marine.
Miscellaneous: Anything you want to mention but haven't been able to cover yet.
