Narutopedia.Primary nature:Secondary nature:Tertiary nature: ▸ Appearance:Kajiya stands a bit taller than most his age, ranging arond the 5'7 -5'8 range, with bright red hair and reddish-amber eyes. His body is highly muscled, due to both his ninja training and his work as a smithing apprentice under his father leading to him having a relatively built physique for his age. Along with these muscles came a number of calluses and scars that tell the tale of all of the mistakes he had made up to that moment in his life while learning his craft, both as a ninja and a blacksmith of the Kajiya clan.
▸ Wardrobe:Tatsuya's typical garb is usually are a pair of durable pants, resistant to both heat and tearing, steel-toed boots to protect his feet during his apprentice work, as well as to add some extra 'oomph' to his kicks. For his top wear, more often than not he chooses to forgo wearing a shirt, as he feels it gets in the way of the intimacy he has with his forge, but he does have a jacket of sorts that he wears tied around his waist for when his partial nudity is considered "unacceptable" or "distracting." It should be noted that this tendency towards shirtlessness is a trait that many Kajiya smiths, both male and female, are often found adhering too. Another trait that these men and women share are a distinct array of dark black lines arching their way up the Kajiya’s back till they reach the shoulders, after which they spread down the arms, all the way to the back of the hand. At each major group of tenketsu or large bundle of tenketsu, there is a hollow circle with the kanji for Heat in the center of it.

Biography
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————▸ History:For as long as he's been alive, Tatsuya has been enamored with blacksmithing. To forge great weapons as beautiful as any work of art, yet capable of great devastation in the hands of a proper wielder. As such, in his youth, he found nothing wrong at first with forgoing Ninja training to instead focus on the arts of his father, and his father's father, and so on and so forth. From birth, it had almost been decided that the young boy would be one to make blades, not wield them.
And yet, even in his youngest years, where he could only watch his father from a distance, he felt a stark difference between the Kajiya that his family told grand tales about when compared to the Kajiya of the modern day. The Kajiya of old where Swordsmiths and Fuinjutsu masters, said to have once been a sect of the Uzumaki clan of Uzushiogakure during the warrior clans period, or so the rumor goes. In the years that followed, they became more entwined with the rising hidden village of Kirigakure and are the clan behind the creation of the weapons of the Mist's 7 ninja swordsman(or so they like to claim, but there is precious little solid evidence to either support or deny it). Highly regarded for both exceptional skill on the battlefield and in honing of their craft, as well as their sense of honor, it would not be wrong to say that Kajiya clan was of great import to Kiri's foundations. But then came the time of Bloody Mist, and the Kekkei Genkai purges.
Despite having no KG to call their own, the clan stood up against the Mizukage for the atrocities committed, trying to appeal to their honor and reason, only to find themselves considered enemies of the village, a dangerous element that had to be dealt with. As such, the Kajiya clan was decimated, with only a few souls escaping the destruction and fleeing Mizu no Kuni.
The Kajiya of Ame, in comparison, are a mere shadow of what they once were. The descendants of those initial refugees trying to hide from the Bloody Mist's wraths, they provided much aid to Amegakure in exchange for their asylum, but all of their greatest techniques and rituals had been lost. Forced to rebuild themselves in the shadows, the clan kept to their pride as craftsman but had lost that adventurous warrior spirit that permeated the stories of old. And as such, their work had suffered greatly. Though they are still quality smiths, considered as some of the greatest in the creation of both chakra conductive weaponry and fuinjutsu imbued specialty arms, nothing has yet to ever reach the level of power and complexity that was seen back in their golden age.
Tatsuya saw this, and he knew that other of his clan saw it as well, but they had let the fires in their heart grow dim under the oppressive realities of their situation. They had grown complacent or, in Tatsuya's words, 'dull'. But as the heir apparent to the clan, Tatsuya refused to accept this as the only path his clan could take. He refused to let them wallow in mediocrity. So he decided to reinvigorate the old ways of the Kajiya, to mix knowledge of battle with knowledge of the forge, and to let war and carnage inspire him to create the greatest weapons of his era.
As such, he badgered his father into allowing him into the Ninja program, much to their discontent. However, he saw the passion in Tatsuya's eyes that hadn't quite been present before and felt that, even if he didn't succeed in his claims, it would do well for the clan to have a leader with some more worldly experiences under their belt. What followed that decision were years of hardship, determination, and many, many, many sleepless nights as he worked to become not only catch up to his classmates, but also continue his apprenticeship under his father, learning the clan techniques for chakra forging. To no surprise, he proved to be exceptionally skilled, even as an apprentice, already working more complex chakra channels into his blades by the time he entered his last year of the academy, but aside from that, he also seemed to develop a taste for combat and showed some skill at both ninjutsu and kenjutsu. By the time that graduation was nearing, he proved himself to be a capable fighter, using his own intimate knowledge of weaponry along with a highly aggressive fighting style to pass the exam with flying colors. Now he simply waits for a chance to prove his skill in the real world, eager and observant for the next even to inspire him onward to greater heights.
▸ Personality:✓ Determined 1.A well-known trait of all Kajiya is that they're a determined lot, and Tatsuya proves no different in this regard. It takes quite a lot to discourage him from something once he's set his mind to it.
✗ PerfectionistA trait that many creative often suffer from, Tatsuya is one who will completely throw out a project if he finds even the smallest imperfection, and often falls into bouts of artistic blocks because of this, wondering what went wrong, how he could fix, etc, etc. He agonizes over these things so much, and this aspect can also be seen in day to day life as he finds himself irritated whenever he pots flaws in both himself and others.
✓ Creative-Thinker An artist at heart, Tatsuya always tries to think outside the box in any situation, whether it be formulating a plan, working on a jutsu, or creating a new weapon, which gives him adds a good deal of unpredictability to his fights as he uses tactics his foes would never expect.
✗ Anti-socialTatsuya is not a people person. He feels most at home either on the battlefield or in a forge and for a majority of his time in school, he stuck to himself rather than interact with his fellow students. That doesn't mean he can't work in a team, but his general disposition is to just do what he's told and keep his opinions to himself rather than communicate with others
✓ Honest 5.while possibly questionable as a positive trait for a ninja, Tatsuya is a person who believes in Justice and honesty, and thus, is one that is hardly ever known to lie. . .
✗ Honest 6.. . . even if it would likely serve his best interests to fib a little. He's honest to a fault and blunt as a mace, often lacking the social awareness to curb his tongue when asked for his opinion, even when speaking to those superior to him.

▸ Motivations:Ambition and Idealism are what make Tatsuya who he is. More than anything, he believes that, despite all the factors against him, he can bring the Kajiya clan back to their old heights of glory. In fact, he doesn't want to just get them back to where they were, but to surpass the legends of old and forge a new set of legendary weapons for his new home. More than anything or anyone in his life right now, this desire to recapture and surpass the glory of old for his clan, even at the cost of his own life, are what push him farther forward every day.

Military
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ▸ Kekkei genkai:Lava release
▸ Description:Lava Release is a combined chakra nature, with the component natures being fire and earth. By melding them together, Tatsuya is able to create volcanic materials such as Lava, magma, and in some cases a rubber-like material. Not only that, but the Kajiya also use Yoton chakra as a critical part of their forging techniques, allowing for the composition of stronger, purer metals due to the heightened levels of heat.
▸ Strengths:Lava style is a highly destructive chakra nature that compliments both a straightforward aggressive style, as well as more creative uses, depending on both the user and the materials they specialize in making. In general, the style is very versatile and dangerous, as it combines the great aspects of its respective component natures to the fore and amplifies them.
▸ Weaknesses:Water style techniques, in general, can provide a pretty hard counter to Yoton techniques, as the contact with water can instantly cool them down and solidify them. Not only that, but the user of Yoton jutsu is not inherently immune to his own creations, and as such, if a yoton user creates areas of lava all over the places, they can easily find it used against them, especially against smart dot on users, who could redirect the pools of lava there way or incorporate them into their own jutsus.
▸ S-rank Techniques▸ A-rank Techniques▸ B-rank Techniques▸ C-rank Techniques▸ D-rank Techniques▸ E-rank Techniques▸ Kajiya Fuinjutsu: Heart of the Forge ▸ Rank:N/A
▸ Range:N/A
▸ Description:A Seal that is placed on every Kajiya blessed with the Yoton chakra nature. Its fundamental attribute is that it protects Tatsuya from the effects of intense heat(not fire, nor flame, but heat in general) via channeling a thin layer of Yoton chakra around them passively. This allows them to work in the crazy heat of their Yoton forges without risk of passing out from heat exhaustion or suffering some sort of heat stroke. In the future, however, this barrier can be consciously strengthened around his hands to allow direct interaction with the molten metals he works with, to better mold and meld them into desired shapes according to the Kajiya style, though he’s a long ways off from that. And while theoretically, this would give him an seeming immunity to Katon techniques, the Yoton barrier isn’t made to withstand direct assault from chakra-based attacks, meaning that it easily crumbles against such things.
▸ Weaknesses:Can’t really think of anything to say here, it’s not made for combat.
▸ Kajiya Shīru tanzō Techniques▸ Rank:N/A
▸ Range:N/A
▸ Description:This represents Tatsuya’s knowledge of the Kajiya clan’s personal smithing techniques, of which he is only at the apprenticed level, though already considered rather advanced for one so young. The first level of Kajiya smithing, of which there are four(Apprentice, Adept, Journeyman, and Master). Ever since their massacre at the hands of Kiri, not one Kajiya has ever attained the rank of Master, and less than 3 have managed to achieve the lowest level of Journeyman status. Most of the techniques for achieving these levels were either destroy or taken from the Kajiya compound many, many years ago during the bloodline purges.
▸ Weaknesses:The weapons made are only as good as the one who wields them
▸ Lava Style: Lava Blade▸ Rank:C(B)
▸ Range:Short
▸ Description:After performing a quick set of hand seals, Tatsuya will coat one of his weapons in a layer of protective Yoton chakra before sticking it in to either the ground, or an active area of lava from one of his other techniques. With a quick upward slash, the jutsu is activated, launching a plume of molten slag towards the opponent. When used by itself, the range is pretty small barely making for a couple feet of sparse spray and acting more as a disengage maneuver than an actual attack. When used with an active lava area, however, he can charge up the attack, causing lava to crawl up the blade(hence the need for the protective Yoton layer), and the longer he charges the attack, the bigger and stronger the plume will be, up to a maximum of about 3-5 meters with a much more condensed plume of slag that makes it look more like an actual blade of lava cutting through the air. Note that as long as the blade isn’t lifted in an upward swing, the jutsu will not disperse, allowing for Tatsuya to reposition himself if needed and not be a complete sitting duck, tho this has the added wrinkle of making the weapon in question rather heavy.
▸ Weaknesses:The base spray is easily dodged and can be blocked by just about any kind of defensive jutsu, being more of a “back the fuck up”move than anything else. The stronger variation is usually harder to dodge due to the extended range but is still a relatively close-range technique, so anyone who can keep him at a distance is pretty safe. Not only that but if he moves with the blade still covered in lava, someone who catches him off guard can hit it with a Suiton technique to instantly solidify it, making the weapon even heavier than it was before until he manages to chip off the rock. Also, target the areas of active lava so he can’t charge up.
▸ Lava Style: Lava Creation ▸ Rank:B.
▸ Range:2 meters in diameter for the starting point
▸ Description:The user will first channel chakra into the ground, thus turning the ground to lava. The process is quick, as the ground will melt away into the liquid-like lava. This lava can be used to aid in his other lava based jutsu by creating a source which he can manipulate, instead of creating it himself. To increase the base area that is converted, the user must have both of his hands in contact with the ground.
▸ Weaknesses:Hit it with a water jutsu and it’s just a patch of moderately warm rocks, or fight Tatsuya inside a building. Aside from that, it doesn’t really do anything on its own, being mostly a setup jutsu.
▸ Katon: Nenshou Tosshin (Fire Release: Burning Rush)▸ Rank:C
▸ Range:Sphere goes is 2 meters long in diameter
▸ Description:A two-part technique in which the user blocks an attack by creating a sphere of fire around themselves, and after blocking the attack, the fires converge around his feet, forming what looks like two pairs of small wings along the users heal. With a simple mental command, one pair of the flaming wings will blast outward, giving Tatsuya a burst of momentum in whatever direction he’s facing, and can even launch him into to the air, tho not very far as of now. They can also be used in a more offensive function, say if he was to slam his onto a foe then activate, likely knocking them back aways with some slight burns, as the effect is much more concussive than a jet of pure flame. At his current level, he can only create about two pairs of wings, and as such, can only use it twice per cast of the justu.
▸ Weaknesses:This jutsu requires a bit of focus in order for Tatsuya to keep the wings formed so any sufficient distraction, from genjutsu to a rather nasty smack to the head, could easily lead to him losing his control of the chakra and losing the wings. On top of that, the wings can be put out or smothered by any sufficiently strong Suiton jutsu or a Doton jutsu that causes his feet to get covered with rock or some other thick material.
▸ Tsuchi Tou Tou (Swift Earth)▸ Rank:C(B)
▸ Range:Current range would be 6 meter at maximum, with 2 meter width, and the earth moves at high speeds
▸ Description:When performing this jutsu the user places his hands on the ground and causes it to move rapidly away as if it were a conveyor belt. As the shinobi increases in skill and rank the size, speed, and range of this jutsu all increase. While little more than a delaying tactic, if mixed with Lava Creation, it can create a rather deadly surge of lava heading straight toward the target at high speeds.
▸ Weaknesses:Tatsuya needs to have at least one hand touching the ground in order to use this jutsu, after making the needed hand seals, plus it can easily be disrupted in both Doton and Yoton form through the use of an equally powerful or greater Doton technique
▸ EquipmentKetsui Bracers▸ Type:Arm guards
▸ Description:Bracers made from some leftover metal from the forging of Ketsui, they are solid, durable constructions that provide Tatsuya with some defense against other weapon users. Like Ketsui, they can be infused with Doton chakra to increase their durability and resileince. They also have a sealing forumale place on the inside of the arm, allowing Tatsuya to summon any weapon sealed with in(usually Ketsui) at a moment's notice. This is especially useful when it comes to traveling with especially big or heavy weapons, as they can be a pain to lug around.
▸ WeaponryShurikens and Kunai
▸ Type:Read above
▸ Description:Basic ninja tools, though of better quality than the standard set. Carries about 20 shuriken and 10 kunai in their respective pouches at any time.
▸ EquipmentKajiya Forging and maintenance tools
▸ Type:Smithing and weapon maintenance kit
▸ Description:A set of fuinjutsu inscribed hammers, chisels, a portable anvil, chakra-infused sealing tags for strength, edge, durability, heat, quenching, polishing, etc that help to speed up the forging process and ensure the quality of the weapon, as well as a preservative seal to keep works in progress in stasis and thus allow a Kajiya to continue his work on the go. Note that Tatsuya doesn’t know how to create most, if any of these tools, being just an apprentice of the craft. He does carry a fuinjutsu imprinting hammer that he made, more as both a memento(as it’s the first thing he forged himself) and an emergency tool because it is clearly an inferior product to what’s included in the standard set.
Alongside the smithing set, there is a whetstone, polishing and cleaning oils for the blade, polishing powder, a powder ball, a cotton cloth, and rice paper to apply the oils to the blade. Some Kajiya prefer to use Fuinjutsu alone to care for their weapons, but Tatsuya things it better to take the time to properly know and care for one’s weaponry. Often says it’s more respectful to the blade.
▸ WeaponryKetsui▸ Type:Odaichi
▸ Description:A blade of his own making and meant to serve as a graduation present to himself, Ketsui makes up for its bland appearance with functionality and reliability. Made from chakra conductive materials and forged with the Kajiya sealing techniques to ensure heightened durability and a keen edge, it was made to be as strong and unyielding as the determination for which it was named after. Along with it’s fine construction, being able to hold up reasonably well to even chakra enhance weapons on its own(though it would definitely need some serious care afterwards), it can also channel Doton chakra to increase its resilience even further, as well as it’s striking power by making the blade weigh a great deal more. While this slows Tatsuya down a fair bit, the added density and weight can make for some devastating blows. Still, to counteract the drain to both stamina and chakra, he has to time his chakra flow so that it takes effect at the peak arc of the swing, then release it immediately afterwards, a timing he still has yet to completely master but when he does, will make for quite a deadly surprise for anyone who doubts the strength of his determination
