This. If anyone is uncomfortable with the idea, an opt out is a good option.

Another RPG I was part of did weekly critic reviews of posts, and let's just say that my writing style was extremely unpopular with a very vocal minority. I wound up having to lobby pretty hard for an opt out mechanism because I got tired of getting a weekly digest of how terrible a writer I am.

I can see me liking it since it could improve my writing more and that's the primary reason why I came on this site. But, I can understand it becoming annoying since you are basically being told that your writing is shit. And no-one likes being told that.

Yeah, these Hype games have never been about what posts are disliked/bad, but rather supporting those and keeping morale high.

I personally always loved what Andy, Bounce, Byrd, and the rest have to say about my growing characterization and narrative abilities, so to have that again even if its later on in a one-and-done thing would be really satisfying. I can understand some’s issues with feeling like we are competing [even if we aren’t], but the positive outweighs the negative I feel.

On a separate note, I’d like to just iterate how thankful I am that you guys have accepted me these past six years. I know I’ve not been the most consistent [or affable] writers you guys have dealt with, but I really do feel like I’m part of a community when it comes to working together with the superherohype crowd. I haven’t had this much writing superhero stories or being surrounded with writers who challenge my prose style and ability since I started roleplaying and I’m really glad I met every single one of you even with all of the growing pains and misunderstandings I’ve had here and there. You’re awesome. Let’s make sure this one lasts.
