Conflict brought humanity to the brink of extinction. Humanity suffered for centuries under the endless nightmare of the Moonlight Council, the ruling body of vampires,as they were hunted for sport like beasts. However, humanity discovered its own power buried within. This energy, deemed Magic, was latent in all humans but only a tenth of the population could access it. In another time, humans may have stood a chance. As it was, magic was too new and its mages too inexperienced for it to matter.
Vampires however hunted humans in greater number, addicted to the magic laced in the mages’ blood. Full out war broke out between the races, one desperate t survive and the others itching to taste magic again. When all seemed lost for humanity and extinction seemed inevitable, another faction made its way from the night. Lycanthropes, or werewolves as humans called them, attacked each side indiscriminately without mercy and threaten to eradicate both sides.
Vampires and mages had little choice but to band together. The Council Leader of the Moonlight Council, Queen Anastasia Noila, and a representative of the humans came together and signed a treaty that banned vampires from outright hunting humans at the cost of making mages serve the vampiric race for eternity. Vampires from this point forward would only ever feed on mage blood on the threat of death.
Together, the two races managed to beat back the Lycanthrope threat. Severely weaken, the invaders fled with curses ad promises of vengeance. They slunk back into the shadows and the hidden places of the world, eventually fading into legend.
Built by the eldest daughter of Queen Noila, Princess Ryner Noila, two centuries after the signing of the treaty, the Noila Academy boasts the largest and most extravagant grounds throughout the known world. Funded directly by the royal lineage, the Academy includes the small town a mere thirty minutes away from the campus proper and includes access to a large private beach and a massive forest. Top of the line chefs, instructors, and others are employed here, which all contribute to its luxurious reputation. The best part is that students accepted here make no financial contributions to the school, attending free of charge.
The Noila Academy however rarely only accepts twenty mage applications a year however. Most individuals receive handwritten notices that they have been accepted, all hand picked by the Princess herself. Noble vampire families often trade favors to gain entrance for their children but Princess Rayner ensures only a few of them manage to make it in in order to maintain a wide variety of social classes.
Mages are paired with recently matured purebloods and those who have been Embraced a month ago. These pairs would be the first in the vampire’s life and, in most cases, the only one in the mage’s. The Academy teaches mages and vampires to control their powers while also teaching them to work together.
Welcome to Of Blood and Magic! This Rp will explore the relationships between humans, mages, and vampires as a centuries old powder keg reemerges and more than a few individual’s secrets see the light of day. Of Blood and Magic starts at the Noila academy and players start as newly awoken mages and/or recently matured vampires who must figure out their own pairing dynamics. As the characters get comfortable, or at least acclimate to their new lives, the will be exposed to decision after decision and none of them should be taken lightly. There are several ways this RP can go and all of it depends on how the players act. The story and NPCs will change and react accordingly, for better or for worse. After all, your actions will have consequences. And if the character is smart, they’ll find their ways of making it out ahead.
However, nothing can start without a little lore about the world! Please read everything below before making your character. Once all characters have been created, I will assign pairs at random! Have fun and please feel free to ask any questions you may have!
The world developed mostly as normal. Breakthroughs in the arts and sciences either directly attributed to vampires or, in rare cases, funded by vampires. Gunpowder was quickly eliminated after a small group of humans discovered its properties and its creators were hunted and killed. Since then, weaponry has stalled at swords and bows.
Much of the modern technology is still in existence. Phones, electricity, and most methods of transportation currently exist. However, vampires use 100% renewable energy. Their jealous protectiveness over their territories makes them hesitant to use methods that may destroy them. Logging, farming, and fishing are all done at sustainable rates under the watchful eye of the vampires and mages.
Creatures of supernatural beauty and physical prowess, vampires once stalked the night with deadly efficiency as the most dangerous predator on earth. Faster, stronger, and often more intelligent than their mortal subjects, vampires are only balanced by three things; their inability to walk in sunlight, their vulnerability to fire, and their need for human blood.
However, vampires in modern day no longer hunt and feed on terrified victims. Instead, vampires act as both a ruling class and celebrities and are generally the only ones who have any classical training in the variety of art forms they engage in to pass the centuries. Those that don’t find some hobby engage in bitter and petty socio-political wars to help entertain them over their eternal lives. Although, only mages know of the intense rivalries that exist in the upper echelons.
In this world, vampires may be born between a vampiric father and a mage mother. Although technically infertile since they are dead, vampires have since pushed mages to develop a ritual that allows vampires to Sire children.
Physiology: Vampires’ appearances vary as much as humans’ do but all are exceptionally beautiful. A vampire’s eyes change instinctively to match their moods, a lighter shade when pleased or amused to near black when furious. As a vampire’s hunger grows, their eyes slowly turn red. Vampires may also influence both mage and human emotions and actions through a simple form of hypnotism requiring sustained eye contact. It is generally referred to as compulsion or thrall, although the ability does not actually compel others to do something. Instead, it allows the vampire to shift the intensity of a target’s emotions and lowers their inhibitions, rendering them more easily persuaded. Targets of compulsion say while in a vampire’s thrall, they feel light, warm, and comfortable.
Unlike the turned, purebloods are able to temporarily take the shape of a bat. The turned on the other hand, can actually stomach regular human food but end up regurgitating it before the sleep next.
Vampires also require mortal blood, mage as per the treaty, to survive. Most can survive a night or two without feeding but the longer a vampire goes, the more likely they are to frenzy. Vampires who frenzy fall into an animalistic like rage and hunt down the nearest source of blood regardless of the person and drink until they are dead. Vampires entering a frenzy are absolutely desperate and will destroy everything in their path until they find a food source. If they cannot find a food source by first light, the vampire falls into torpor and won’t awaken until fed an entire human worth of blood. To assist in drinking blood, vampires have non-retractable, hyper-extended canines that act as fangs to piercing flesh.
As the undead, vampires do not have a heartbeat and the vast majority of their internal organs are shriveled and withered in comparison to mortals. Vampire’s insides are primarily a soup of blood, withered organs, and a petrified heart. Vampires instinctively draw on the vitae within blood to heal and empower their physical strength and senses. If the heart is pierced, a vampire does not die. Instead it enters a torpor until the object is removed. Vampires can only die through extensive injury, decapitation, sunlight, or fire.
For centuries, the practice of turning, known as the Embrace, was the only form of reproduction vampires could achieve. With mages making procreation possible, the two methods of vampiric creation have different significances. Birthing new vampires is the preferred and the only legal method, in most cases, of vampiric creation any more. Although born of a mage parent, these vampires are never born with magic and are considered true blood vampires.
The Embrace however, was outlawed at the start of the treaty with exceptions made by the council every few centuries and when saving the life of a mortal. The Embrace is a brutal and painful experience, the vampire feeding the victim its blood once the mortal was drained of nearly all its blood. The Embrace is torturous, especially for mages who have their magic stripped away in the process. Nearly 75% of mages do not survive the turning, their pain magnified as something so intimate is stripped from them.
Sociology: Vampires own this world. Using a feudal system, powerful vampires known as Counts rule over territories , lesser vampires, and humans alike. These vampires in turn are under the authority of the Moonlight Council and its Lords and swear fealty to the Queen, the head of the council. Vampires run the government, are the wealthiest in the upper class, and dominate most non-labor industries. The notable exception is the entertainment industry, which has both vampires and humans working on and producing projects but only in recent years.
Vampires strongly believe in the social hierarchy. Rules set from above are ironclad and followed to the letter. These beliefs were integral to the founding of the treaty, keeping some of the more adventurous families from breaking rank and hunting humans for sport again. It was reinforced by the council in the 1500s when it was rumored a young group of rebellious vampires turned against the council and the treaty, hunting Queen Noila’s personal villages as protest. In less than a week, the fangs of the offenders hung from the Queen’s neck and they were staked outside for the morning sun. The younger generations now fit easily into the treaty since they have never experienced anything else but they tend to chafe under the heavy hand of their elders, unable to move upwards due to vampiric immortality.
Interactions between vampire and humans change depending on the individual and their viewpoints.Traditionalist families, families who still believe in hunting for sport and pass these views to their offspring, tend to look down on and belittle their mages, turning them into cheap servants or pets all while staying within the bounds of the treaty. Most however are modernists, treating their partner with respect. Many of these relationships extend further into their lives, starting business together, entering a romantic relationship, or managing the vampire’s career.
The primary purpose of the paired system, vampires may only feed on their paired mage. Vampires may allow others to feed on their paired mage if it wouldn’t endanger the mage’s life but cannot feed on another mage without that mage’s vampire’s express permission. Blood is the only thing that can sustain vampires but, like food, each mage’s blood tastes a little different. Between a combination of magic, personality, and current mood, there are an endless variety of flavors to be had. There are self proclaimed blood connoisseurs and a thriving market for blood tasting.
For mages, feeding is often a pleasant experience. After the initial burn of the bite, mages describe the sensation as a warm massage or the feeling of sitting down after standing for hours on end. Although vampires can make the feeding hurt, it sours the taste of the blood beyond pleasant for most vampires.
The five noble families each have a seat on the Moonlight Council and normally manned by the head of the household. These seven families claim to have direct lineage back to the original vampires and use that to assert what they believe is their rightful dominance. The head of a noble family is called Lord/Lady while everyone else holds the title Count/Countess. Territory owning vampires that are not part of a noble family are known as Dukes/Duchess but their family and retainers hold no special titles. The noble families are as follows:
Royal Family Noila: Since the establishment of the Council, the family Noila has reigned over vampire and mortal kind as strong and level headed rulers. The Noilas earned their reputation for tenacity and stubbornness during the Blood Wars, practically strong arming the rest of the Council into agreeing despite the looming threat of annihilation. The current Queen, Anastasia Noila, has ruled for three centuries. Her Sire and predecessor died when demanding a duel against another member of the Council after a petty insult. Queen Noila has two turned daughters, Ryner and Nox. Princess Ryner runs the Noila Academy and attends various social events hosted around the continent to maintain its image. Nox heads Noila’s personal guard and sometimes holds special combat classes at the Noila academy when on leave.
Noble Family Eve (Taken): Represented by Count Lutheran Eve, this is the only family whose head of household doesn’t sit on the Council. Its patriarch, Lord Biero Eve, disappeared a century ago after chasing down rumors of an original vampire text. An avid collector, he vanished without getting his affairs in order and the house has experienced a harsh power vacuum since a head of household cannot be changed without consent until three centuries of absence has past. Count Lutheran struggles to keep his position and many of the other Noble family’s secret mock him and his house.
Noble Family Sinnanodel (Taken): Lady Sybil Sinnanodel has sat on the Council since its creation. Although slow to move, her mind is wicked sharp and she has no problem shutting down opposing ideas. She, and thus many of her house, are intentionally antagonistic but often step out of the heated debates they start just to enjoy the chaos. The Sinnanodels however are dreamers and intellectuals, boasting some of the greatest educational and research facilities on the entire continent. They teach their fledglings to be analytical and cunning and that the mind will always overcome might. Behind their backs, other families refer to them as the Devils.
Noble Family Astorio (Taken): Lord Peiron Astorio runs the family with an iron fist. A heavy traditionalist, his family was the strongest opponents of the treaty and have the most offences against it to date. Over time, the Astorios have lost 16 of its members to death by sun for hunting regular humans and killing its mages. These individuals openly treat their mages as pets and, despite warnings and harsh words from the rest of the Council, continue to toe the boundaries of the treaty. Perion and Sybil regularly clash heads Council meetings and their arguments tend to hold up proceedings for nights. Despite their clashing natures, Perion and Sybil regularly vote against progressive matters.
Noble Family Marivaldi (Taken): Lord Salazar Marivaldi is easily the youngest on the Council but also rather easy going and calm for a vampire. The Marivaldi family is the nicest to its mages and the most receptive to romantic relationships between its members and mages. It’s no secret Salazar was originally a mage who requested vampirism after saving the last head of the Marivaldi’s life. The previous Lord Marivaldi died in the last decade and rumor has it Salazar had a hand in it. Nothing can be proved however. Although all the families are tight knit and secretive, the Marivaldi take it to the extreme. Few are able to interact with lower house members and its mages and fewer still can even guess what they are doing. Some speculate they are plotting for the throne, some believe they are plotting to destroy the treaty, and others still believe they are experimenting on mages and vampires lalike.
Mages were, and still are, the saving grace of humanity. Lower on the social scale that any vampire but higher than normal humans, mages are humans who were gifted the ability to cast the magic intrinsic in their blood. Between their magic, their ability to walk in the sunlight, and their natural ingenuity, mages make excellent bodyguards and partners for the vampires. Those who find themselves as part of a team of mages generally find themselves in scholarly occupations, whether it be research or teaching, or as part of a vampire’s guard.
Physiology: Mages carry the same variety of appearances as their mortal kin. They are otherwise as fit as other humans although appearances and physical prowess can be altered greatly when applying appropriate magical enhancements. These skills are taught later on in a mage’s schooling.
Mages’ magic each manifest as a singular elemental specialty that is their primary magical ability, although they will be taught a variety of arcane magic later on. While learning their magic, each mage also develops their own casting method. These methods vary from runes and incantations, to channeling through weapons and wands. And necessity also plays a large part in that development. The basic elements-fire, water, air, earth- take very little in the ways of casting method, easily manipulated through will alone. The more complex elements-light, darkness, life, plant- all require some degree of casting medium. Arcane magic always uses incantations.
Sociology: Humans stand at the very bottom of the totem pole, while mages stand slightly above thanks to the treaty. Quickly isolated from normal humans, mages are shrouded in an air of mystery to most humans. That coupled with their vampiric involvement, makes humans consider mages to be a step above them but still several steps lower than even a turned vampire. As a primary feeding source, vampires hoard their mages and keep them close to their circles out of purely selfish reasons. At best, mages are considered valuable assets and at worst, pets. The Council added an amendment to the treaty shortly after the 14th century, forcing vampires to allow their mages time to visit their families after their training was complete.
Mages have no say in their assigned vampire. Many mages throughout history have suffered gross abuse but technically don’t have to put up with any mistreatment at their partner’s hand. However, reporting abuse to the Council often results in light reprimands to the vampire and even more brutal punishments for the mage behind closed doors. Social standards demand mages put up with the abuse. In modern days, abuse has lessened but not entirely disappeared.
Crimes committed against a vampire are judged more harshly if it is a human committing them while vampires suffer only reprimands in the opposite case unless it brings bodily harm or death to the human.
Humans with capacity to use magic are generalized as Mages. These humans are otherwise unordinary. If they were stripped of their magic, they would be just another human. Some humans, although rarely, awaken to their magical potential early, able to produce some magical effect from early on. These early bloomers have their magic sealed away or at least severely limited until they turn 18. Having awakened magic through puberty has resulted in catastrophic events, many leading to the death of the caster since their body can’t yet handle the stress of magic. Most however do not know of their potential until they undergo the mandatory Awakening ritual.
The Awakening ritual allows mages to temporarily tap into a fledgling mage’s magic and determine if it can be consciously harnessed. The mage undergoing the ritual holds a specialized focus, often a crystal, as the caster proceeds. The focus glows if the person holding it has magical potential and stays dull if they don’t. Most of the time, the magic isn’t strong enough to determine the mage’s element. If it is, the crystal will glow a color or hold an image that gives a clue to the mage’s magical affinity, or element. These range from the common fire, water, earth, and air to lightning, darkness, ice, light, life, plant, etc. Magical affinaties come in a wide variety and new ones are catalogued every few years.
Just as mages differ in elements, mages differ in casting styles. From runes to incantations, to pure mental manipulation to weapons and wands, there are some general concepts for casting. The base elements-Fire, Water, Earth, and Air-require very little in terms of casting apparatus. These mages generally need neither word nor wand unless they are attempting something extraordinarily complex, just will and a gesture. As the affinity moves away from the basic elements-Life, Light, Darkness, Lightning, Ice, Plant-mages require a focus or incantations, possibly both, to safely channel their magic.
Arcane magic is elementally neutral and requires complex incantations to be cast without infusing it with the mage’s elemental property. Arcane magic is used to create wards and bindings, cast specialized rituals, and enhance the mage's abilities in ways their elemental magic may not be able to. One of the first arcane spells any mage learns is dark vision.
There are several forbidden magics, the primary two being Necromancy and Blood Magic. Those who show an element for these incredibly rare magics are promptly shut away and never heard from again. Both of these magics have the capacity to control vampires without their knowledge and they refuse to allow mages that ability. However, both of these magic types can be learned as arcane magic to their full potential unlike most other magics. Though it is rumored among the mage circles that the last and most powerful arcane Blood Mage forced a vampire to turn them and they now sit on the Council as part of one of the Noble families.
Protection: The school of shields and wards. All students learn the basic shielding spell and most learn a few more advanced ones, especially those intent on dueling professionally.
Evocation: The school of battle magic. These spells damage and harm their targets through a variety of effects. All students are required to learn two basic spells from this school.
Summoning: Spells in this school call items and, at their higher levels, creatures from other places to the caster’s side. This is an advanced school that may only be taken after specific specializations of Protection magic have been completed.
Transmutation: These spells change the properties of items and even change their base materials and shapes. It also provides a variety of enhancement spells, including the mandatory spell Dark Vision.
Charms: Containing the widest variety of spells, most spells that don’t fit into the other school are grouped here and range from color changing spells to teleportation.
Mental: A highly dangerous spell school, mind magic allows others to invade the mind of willing and unwilling participants, even going as far as controlling them. Mind magic is the one school that can be cast without incantations but only if the mage pays the ultimate price. Mages must submit an application, undergo a variety of evaluations, and must take a specific course line to be considered.

No God-modding, don’t be rude OoC, the standard.
Since mages and vampires assigned partners at random by the GM, each player will be allowed to create one vampire and one mage. You do not need to create more than one character if you need.
Please post at least once a week! A stagnate RP is a dead RP after all! But life happens so just give everyone, or at least the GM, a heads up if you will have difficulty posting.
Make sure to stay in contact with the RP! I have a discord channel set up for ease of communication but PMs and posting in the OoC work just as well! Please request the discord link via PM!
This RP has the opportunity for a lot of dark and explicit content. Please contact the GM if there are subjects you have a hard pass on just in case those subjects have a possibility of coming up.
Romantic relationships and what they entail are allowed but please do not post explicit content in the RP. If you wish to RP explicit scenes, please do so outside the RP and, if something important happened between the characters, allude to it in later posts.
Traditional holidays and festivals have long since faded, banned since the treaty’s creation and more often than not the target of many a vampiric assault in older days. The Moonlight Council instituted a world wide banned because they pointed towards other powers-higher and more mysterious-than the vampires themselves, not that any mortal in current day remembers.
The Marivaldis originally wanted to reinstate the old ways, correcting a severe morale problem that directly affected human population growth and ability. They were unanimously opposed until Princess Ryner stepped in and helped create a new holiday system that focused on the families composing the Moonlight Council. Each family would be in charge of handling one festivity across the world and would host it for all across the realm, mortal, mage, and human alike. While the royal family wouldn’t host one themselves, they were heavily invested in each festival.
Even after the revisions made between the Marivaldi’s and Noilas, the bill was still heavily opposed by the traditionalists with the Eves leaning in the Sinnenodel’s favor. To ensure it passed, the Marivaldis gave the Astorios a powerful tool: a promise to vote in anyway the family wished in the future. Lord Peiron snatched up the chance and eventually the Marivaldis regretted owing the brutal Astorio patriarch when they attempted to support the Noilas’s bill to expand mage healthcare protections but were forced to vote against it.
Holidays:
Chaend(Sinnenodels, March 12 - 17): Named after the original Sinnenodel, Chaend is a five day long holiday dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the arts. The Sinnenodel’s host massive arts festivals and competitions along with free workshops on almost every subject. Alcohol is often banned from these celebrations since masterpieces that have been centuries in the making are often on display. Lady Sybil Sinnenodel herself chooses one town in the realm to open a part of her private library collection but only one person a night is allowed access to read as much as they can in that time period.
Sangeunum(Astorios, June 18 - 23): Unimaginably named after the very substance the Astorios revel in, Sanguenum is a festival of physical prowess. The Astorios host a variety of sports and events, ranging from pole tossing to jousting to aerial combat. Every competition hosts three classes: Human, Mage, and Vampire. Magic is strictly forbidden during these events. It also includes drinking contests and a brutal variety of eating contests.
The Revel(Marivaldis, September 20 - 22): Despite being the shortest festival, The Revel is a 48 hour nonstop party whose theme changes from year to year and is decided by the Lord/Lady of the House. These parties are all encompassing, including dancing, food, drugs, orgies, and anything else the host could possibly think of. Rules and regulations for these events vary from host to host. Each Host also picks one or two Festival Marquees who have the right to any material pleasure they desire during the festival. The Marivaldis almost always pick a mage and/or human but sometimes pick vampires they need strategic alliances with. The Marivaldi and the Noilas offer cheap insurance to all Hosts in the event things get out of hand.
Moon’s Mirror(Eves, December 16 - 23): The last festival of the year, the Eves host this quiet event as a time of introspection and focus heavily on relationships. Their events revolve around group activities, team competitions and free food and drink so people can sit and enjoy each other's company. This festival also hosts a variety of matchmaking games and fun, from speed dating to the cliche “Tunnel of Love”. Mulled Cider and Wine are popular drinks during this time and candles decorate almost every window.
I can't take all the credit though. @WeepingLiberty ran an RP that this one is based off of. I've added more details and put more political intrigue and social dilemma in the immediate foreground but the foundation was theirs! I was just so bummed that it stopped that I created a new one!
She has special fireproof clothes, but her regular dress is more regular and urban. She's a little on the short side, and doesn't weigh much. Her skin is light brown, her hair curly. Though fire doesn't burn her, it does make her skin sooty black, changing the actual pigment and not just leaving a residue. It fades after a few hours, but even so, she finds it hard to hide when she's been using her elemental power.
Age: 18 Gender: Female Element: Fire
Personality: Cassandra is someone who thinks and acts quickly, for better or for worse. She has good manners ingrained strongly, but once formalities are out of the way, it's fair game. Because of her peculiar upbringing since the age of ten, Cassandra is unused to being around people her own age, or indeed anyone who is a peer or equal, rather than a superior in some way. She is still impressionable enough that her social skills are likely to be shaped and possibly changed drastically by how her classmates behave and treat her.
Cassandra entered the school immediately upon her awakening, and with an air of infamy and expectation. Neither feelings were from anything she had done. Cassandra came from an out of the way town(the kind with one McDonald's, and no Walmart), and until she was ten years old, had an older brother, Able. Her brother was a mage, with a powerful affinity for the element of life. But he Awakened early. Normal circumstances would have him contained so he could not harm himself, but the local Count was lax, and it was another Vampire altogether who discovered Able. The vampire, William Hess, belonged to no particular family(whether by choice or not, Able never knew) and saw the opportunity to have a mage unregistered, and unknown by the Moonlight Council. Never having a mage before, or been around them in general, William underestimated the risks, and overestimated the reward. Able was strong, very strong, but that would be the undoing of both.
His family never knew about the awakening. Able, coerced by his impromptu partner, kept his magic a secret. As his body degraded, be did his best to grin and bear it, but Cassandra, who was close to him, knew something was seriously wrong. Her parents didn't believe her, at the age of ten, and just believed Able was sick during the last few weeks of his life.
An experiment prompted by Hess finished the job of destroying his body, drastically altering it in the process. Hess fled, having no real feelings for Able, and left him to die. He was found, and lived long enough to tell his short, but sad story to an agent of the Moonlight Council. His family was never shown the body, the agent's mage cremated it the moment he stopped breathing.
Though Able made no mention of any other parties, and it seemed clear they had never known about this, the Roth family was put under surveillance that continues to this day(though now disguised as tutors and helpers for their remaining child). Within an hour of Cassandra's own early Awakening, a mage was at her bedroom door to seal her power away. As should have been done for her brother.
Cassandra and her whole family were spirited away to a new city and a new life, somewhere the Council could not only watch, but guide Cassandra's development. She was tutored, taught those skills most useful to a future vampire partner, though without the ability to put any of the magic into practice.
Though she knows it's just another stage of the vampires keeping eye on her, Cassandra is excited and hopeful that her time at Noila Academy will put her on more equal footing with some of the vampires, and her life will cease to be controlled as strictly.
Likes: Freedom, sunlight and fresh air. Anything and everything that is difficult to come by while living in the care of vampires. Energy drinks, though she doesn't like coffee at all. Doing nothing, when she wants to do nothing.
Dislikes: Sleep, particularly during the day. She views it as just more time taken from her. Being held anywhere she doesn't want to be.
Habits: Staying up late Sneaking out during the day(it has never been possible for her to do so truly unobserved, but she can avoid her parents finding out) Speaks without thinking.
@Achronum Ah, but to ask a formal question about apps, can you explain what the information next to the "Age" field in the vampire app means? Er, a tad tired on my end so i wanna be sure. XD
@Achronum Well, here is the main app proper! Sending other info over PM that is to be eventually disclosed into the app over time!
Hopefully it isn't too...eh, crazy OP or such things. XD
Name: Arianna Dracul Eve
Additional Appearance Descriptions: Standing in at 5’7”, Arianna is the picture of a dominant, strong vampiress with a strong but sexy body befitting her kind’s heritage. With pale white skin, and a rune/mark tattooed between her breasts. Ironically, her lovely features in both her hair and eyes were actually inherited from her mage mother. This being said, her eyes still turn colors as is normal for vampires in certain stages of hunger. Further, she possesses in general all of the other features a proper, pureblooded vampire should have. Even the obvious attribute of fangs.
Her physical age, despite her notable physical features, is alongside and fits in with those other Purebloods and Embraced/Turned that walk the school’s halls.
Age: 95
Gender: Female
Personality: Arianna is someone who carries a regal air of sorts about her naturally, as naturally as breathing air even. Yet she is of the sort whose “regal airs” seems to exert a sort of invisible but virtually palpable “pressure” on those around her. Confidence rings in her voice, and a sort of natural charisma drips from her words regardless of their content, intent, or tone. One could say she’s been raised into a potential leader for the future, or at least to be a strong presence within her family one day, which is not far from the truth.
Personally, Arianna herself has enjoyed the fine things, such as saunas, comfortable bedsheets, sexy silk attire, and many other such things that one would consider luxuries or “extravagant” in nature. A bit of hedonist, she is someone who enjoys the “pleasurable” things in life, though some have underestimated her due to this aspect of her personality. She is, though, at her core a determined individual who works for her goals with at times an iron (or potentially stubborn) will. She is also a confident flirt, not caring who it is as long as she desires them in her mind and “wants to” according to her own words.
Bio: Born a member of the Eve noble family to a powerful female mage possessed by her father, and it was obvious from the start that Arianna’s father had big plans for her in regards to her future. She was trained in the fighting arts, both sword and barehanded, and given a good early education. Even driving and riding became included in her education, in the end being propped up like a “princess” really. Ironically “princess” was mockingly given to her as a nickname by some under their breaths as a result of their envy. This being said, though the nickname annoyed her she held her head high and worked to live up to the expectations her father had for her.
Now she is old enough to come to the school, and having been lucky enough to be invited she has arrived. Full force, full throttle, she aspires to become even stronger and more powerful in her time at the school. Though having a bit of fun with fellow students and her mage wouldn’t perhaps be out of the question for her either, just like any normal girl in her mind~
Albeit, she did put in a request to the school for a “cute, non-Fire-element, female mage” as her companion. As it were, she is not a fan of the fire element, possessing distaste for the element on grounds of “it is bothersome, and I need my mage to be obedient rather than having a temper or rebellion risk that i’d have to squash them for”....this and she loathes the flavor of Fire mage blood in general based on personal tastes alone.
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Likes: Luxury Items, Fine Tasting Bloods and testing them, Hot Baths, People Being Genuine, True Confidence
Dislikes: Cowards, Seagulls, the Fire-element, Fire mages and their blood, her father
Habits:
-Tends to lustfully indulge herself in private, this as a part of her hedonistic side really. Usually this takes the form of things like (but not limited to): drinking a fine cup of blood legally purchased ahead of time for enjoyment...or in things like a hot bath or music. Even in lounging about in her room in certain kinds of clothing she enjoys.
-If she is dead set enough on something or determined enough, it becomes at the very least rather hard to get her to sway from it. Especially hard. This can have its good and bad applications of stubbornness, as it were.
-Occasionally staying up rather late, or indulging in playful activities under the right circumstances, the latter thing not being much of what many might expect of her ironically.
Other:
Once had a pet bat named “Tiki” that she’d loved to play with as a younger child.
@Achronum If I wanted to make a mage that had an affinity for manipulating or transforming metal (think Fullmetal Alchemist mixed with Magneto from X-men), would that be a subset of earth magic or its own thing altogether? Or just too OP/not within the scope of magic in the setting?
@Scribe of Thoth Great minds, eh? I was thinking of going with 'Steel' as my Mage's aspect. I've got back ups though so I'd rather use one of them instead of overlapping.
EDIT: I was planning to base them off of my current Pathfinder character, which is a White -haired Witch. Prehensile 'Steel' hair. I may or may not be a Millia Rage fan *cough*
@Crusader Lord Go ahead and move her over! And yes, those effects do exist but they are temporary. Using magic to enhance physical properties does put a strain on the body after a while. As for protecting you against an element, there are short term wards. Long term wards need to be reinforced regularly and the sheer amount of magic they accumulate makes them static.
@Scribe of Thoth Metal is an acceptable element. Since it is such a stubborn element, casting with will alone will be difficult. You will need some medium but otherwise it's perfectly fine!
This looks cool! What does the current mage/vampire ratio look like? I’m thinking about a mage, but I could be convinced to go vampire as well if the ratio isn’t balanced.
@Achronum regarding mages, how do elder mages determine which humans to bring in for the magic test? Do all humans undergo it, or just the ones born to mage families?
Also: would it make sense to create a lineage of mages descended from the representative who co-signed the treaty, and who are very serious about fulfilling the treaty and making good partners to vampires? I’m thinking about making a character from one such lineage who was raised with the ideology that his work as a vampire’s partner is very important and honourable and as such, should be conducted well and be a source of pride.
