@LuckyBlackCat Thank you very much. I will likely unsub from the RP thread itself, but if you're fine with me passing by the Discord now and again, I promise not to be a bother, not that I was all that active before, but still.
@Mangrale I'm sad to see you go... but it's been fun ! Hope to see you around, keep up the good work !
@Indra As my (New) Co-GM said, we stay afar from too much Canon stuff. Especially since we're in a different country, but nothing stops you from creating a character inspired from it.
@Genon The Quirk could work...but I'd need to see it written down in more details. Through a PM if you wish, or directly on a CS so we can approve or pin point stuff to change?
@Ryonara I like this Quirk idea. I like that it's pretty simple. As Blackcat said, though, we need a drawback. A good inspiration would be Momo - she creates objects that last forever, but doing it requires energy. Something akin to that? Reinforcing objects requires something out of him, and the bigger the more, but the effects remain? The rest seems fine with me !
Did I miss anyone? Sorry for the long time I take to answer - this is why I appointed a Co-Gm ! Haha.
How about I make it so he can only reinforce objects for a minute, regardless if he’s touching it or not, and afterwards there’s a cooldown period for each object? That way later upgrades will just be longer reinforcement duration and lower cooldowns.
@Ryonara The problem is almost all Quirks come with some form of Backlash in MHA... even with that solution, he still can technically use his quirk indefinitely. Not that it's the most OP power I have ever seen, but it's more in order to follow the MHa spirit? I'd rather see a upgraded version of the Quirk with some sort of limit to it, than a weaker version with no limits, if you understand me?
@Aerandir I forgot you ! Haha. So far it looks ok, but I will wait for a finished CS before judging.
Backlash huh. Hmm. Could I do something like reinforcing an object only delays the damage it would sustain? That way after it wears off in a minute the normal damage comes back, could end up destroying whatever he's reinforcing so he has to be mindful not to over use it. Not really a direct drawback but it'll at least prevent Damian from just using his quirk over and over on an object since he will end up destroying it.
Another idea is that the more he uses his powers his body takes physical strain depending on how he's reinforcing his items. Harder objects causes bruises, sharper objects gives him cuts, etc.
Quirks are not super powers, and from what I saw so far people tend to see them too much as this... Quirks are essentially all mutations of the body. The Quirks have to find their origin from within someone, and more often than not using a Quirk will tire you just as much as using any other parts of your body, like legs or arms. So this is the direction you have to take.
My villain is Poisonous, but she has to maintain that poison in a way not yet disclosed. Some others are hurt when they use their Quirks or hurt themselves or get tired. So this is the way you have to take to develop a real MHA Quirk ! Hehe.
Way I see it, maybe he uses his energy when he uses the Quirk, so he has to eat more than others. Or Drink, or something like that.
Alright I get it. Then I think I'll use a sort of "does damage to his own body" sort of way. He's basically using his own muscles in a sort of way to reinforce whatever he's touching, so this means the more he does it the more damage to his muscles it causes. This also prevents him from reinforcing big things since they take up more energy that will weaken him much more.
Can I make a suggeston? Instead of having the reinforcement actively damage him, why not a simple debuff to counterbalance the simple buff he's giving to the object he's touching? IE, while his quirk is reinforcing something, he himself is much more vulnerable to damage; he'll bruise more severely when struck, he'll bleed more profusely if cut, and it makes him more sensitive to pain in general. You can even take this to further levels if reinforcing larger objects or prolonging the reinforcement past the usual time limit takes more effort on the part of his quirk; he'll start becoming more sensitive to light and sound, and even changes in air pressure. It could even affect his immune system. :)
This way, reinforcing things still provides a risk to himself, which forces him to be more careful with it and dissuades him from using it on one thing for too long, while also playing into the theme of his quirk. Thoughts?
@SimpleWriter So, since I'm co-GM and we now need more girls, I might as well...
Appearance:
(With black tights and ankle boots)
Name: Kerianne Morley Age: 17 Gender: Female
Hero Name: Nightwatch Quirk Name: Shadow Warp Quirk Type: Emitter Quirk Description: By touching her hand to a shadow, she can turn it into a portal leading to another shadow within 10 feet and her line of sight. It cannot be her own or that of anything she's taking with her, as they would disappear and disrupt the link. She can transport objects as long as they're things she can physically carry, but at this stage, not people.
If she overuses this, she becomes increasingly dizzy and disoriented. This side effect sets in faster if she warps into or out of a moving shadow, or if the light is such that an object or person casts multiple shadows. In the case of these multiple shadows, sometimes she accidentally warps out of the wrong one.
Ironically she cannot use her Quirk in complete darkness, as she needs to be able to see where she's going.
Inventory & Possessions:
Her clothes are always neat and tidy, casual wear and uniform alike. At school, she makes sure to have her shirt tucked in and her tie correctly done up at all times.
A portable camping lantern, which helps with her training - she places it in ways that make objects cast several shadows, and tries to get around that issue.
An iPhone with a surprising amount of rock, punk and metal music, as it helped her through some tough times, although she keeps her playlist a secret.
A photo album with old pictures of her parents. There are no pictures of her foster families, except for the most recent one.

Years on, Kerianne still couldn't get used to seeing her mother like this.
"Hey Mom..." Taking in the sunken-eyed figure behind the bars was harder than ever today, considering what she had to tell her. A ghost of a smile tugged at the girl's lips, before her expression settled back into solemnity. She took a deep breath. Best to get to the point. "I've, uh... I've got some news."
Her mother advanced, prison shirt hanging off her frame. "Hey Keri. Hm, would this be good news or bad news? If you've gotten yourself into trouble again..." She gave a hollow chuckle. "I guess I'm not exactly the right person to lecture you. That seems to be your newest family's forte, not mine."
Kerianne shook her head. "No, it's not that, in fact it's kind of the opposite. Whether it's good or bad depends how you see it." She paused, glancing down at the floor for a second. "I-I went through with it, Mom. I signed up for UJ. And... I'm in."
The seconds that ticked by felt like minutes, hours even.
"Ehh..." She shuffled her feet. "Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I've been thinking, and I decided it was for the best." Immediately she regretted her words. Here she was, trying to convince her mother that putting people like her - people driven by desperation - behind bars was the right career path. She looked at her shoes again, then into the former villain's eyes, expecting anger or disappointment to darken them. Instead, she saw relief, although a soft sigh accompanied the look.
"You know," her mom replied, "I can't say you're wrong. There are worse paths to go down. Much worse paths."
Kerianne bit her lip, unsure what to say. "Don't worry," she finally answered. "When you live with a Quirk counsellor, you kind of end up reining things in anyway. I mean this is the longest anyone's kept me. We discussed this, and decided it'd be a chance to go a step further. You know, make up for everything."
A grin brightened her mother's face, restoring that lively air Kerianne hadn't seen since childhood. "Keri, I'm so, so proud of you. So glad you're getting this chance." Her voice softened, trembled. "Please, take that road, not the one your father and I took. Believe me, it's not worth it. Not worth it at all."
Throat tightening, Kerianne nodded. "I'll do my best, Mom," she said, stepping forward and letting her mother wrap those frail arms around her through the bars. She returned the hug, her resolve strengthening as she spoke. "I'll do my best to really make you proud."
At the sound of a cough, she broke away to meet the glare of a guard. "Time's up, kid," the warden announced.
For a moment longer, Kerianne's gaze rested on her mom. "Well... I'll let you know how things go. And how Dad takes it." Once they'd said their goodbyes, the blonde headed from the room. The building's oppressive atmosphere did nothing to diminish the brisk purpose in her steps.
The daughter of villains, becoming a pro hero... Was it truly possible? Was there hope where there seemed to have been none? If her mom thought so, supported and believed in her despite everything, this truly was an opportunity she had to take.
Yi is fairly short, only standing at 5’4”. But this is to his advantage, as it makes him seem unimposing at first to most people. His small frame also allows him him more agile and quick in his gymnastic abilities. Yi’s body is highly tone and flexible with his last 9 years focusing in training with a mixture of Tai Chi and Dim Mak(which focuses on pressure points). Both working well with his small frame.

Yi can temporarily cancel out quirks of anyone he touches, except for those with a physical mutation type quirk. He must touch the person first and activate it within a minute of touching for it to ‘seal’. He then must concentrate on keeping it sealed, doing so is hard on his mind, leading to him having small headaches for short activation periods, to throbbing migraines for The longer periods. For now he only uses his quirk as a last resort, and limits himself to one person. For each additional personal exponentially shortens the window he has to keep his focus. If he's not careful, these migraines do become debilitating for him.
Asian fashion sense- Despite growing up in an america since he was five, he tends to gravitate to wearing Asian 'kungfu' fashion all the time. Trying to honor his heritage, while finding it more comfortable. He's always aware of keeping himself neat and tidy.
Collapsible metal Bo-staff- While he confident on taking opponents on with out a weapon. There are times where a staff is preferred.
Collection of kung fu movies/weapons- Yi has an insane collection of kung fu movies. Name a movie, he probably has it or seen it, as well as hundreds of others never heard of. He also loves to train with any weapon he can get his hand on in his spare time.
~Some years ago~
The sound of wood being hit and rattled rapidly and unevenly could be heard coming from the basement, accompanied by the short yell of Ei! with most of the strikes. As it normally would have, but this time it more intense as usual.
Yi was soley focused on his wooden spinning Mu ren zhuang dummy. Each strike was much more stronger than needed, as if he was trying to break the training tool with each strike.
You worthless little shit! I bring you into my home and spend my money on giving you a good life and this is all you can do? sticking your nose into other peoples business?!
Yi growled and stopped a peg from hitting him in his face, which was covered in 1st degree burn marks and nasty bruises. He followed up with hardening his fore and middle fingers, having them stick out a little farther than his fist and proceeding to hammer the main body of the Mu ren zhuang, aiming for the pin point targets he had placed randomly around the training tool. His last few strikes focused on the 'head' area. with enough force to almost send the heavy wooden dummy teetering backwards, before it crashed back into place.
Yi stood there, breathing heavily and shuddering. His right eye swollen shut now from the bruising, he looked down at his hands which were shaking involuntarily. Fresh blood dripped from his knuckles from the brutal beating of the wooden training tool.
He had to get stronger. He couldn't sit back and watch as his sister and mother protect him from that bastard any more. His sister was his hero, she always looked out for him as she protected him and taking the brunt of the wrath from their father.
Yet she always seemed to have a smile on for Yi. She had more strength and courage than he could even imagine. She was the reason... he wanted to become a hero. To protect those who were too weak to protect themselves.
He looked at the training dummy once more, and Despite his body screaming in pain from the wounds he received and gave him himself. He took a deep calming breath and restarted his forms. Controlling his anger better this time.
Could work. Then he could train his muscles, basically, to allow himself to work on his Quirk more. Something like that? If you edit it in, notify me that I can confirm and you can put it in the CS tab.
Hello, just wanted to make sure if this was still accepting? I already have two quirks in mind that I wanted to run through you guys to see if one or the other was better :)
1. A mutation/transformation quirk. Gives my character the physiology of a mermaid and is able to turn their body or specific body parts into water and manipulate them accordingly.
2. The ability to store objects of any shape or kind inside of their body, so long as they aren't bigger than their body. For example, if they were to store a knife, they'd push the weapon into their forearm and allow it to sink into their body. Once they've done so, a tattoo of said item will appear where they placed it, in this case their forearm. They can store as many things as they want inside of them so long as there's space on their skin; no overlapping of tattoos. (I think I favor this one more?)
They each have their weaknesses, but I thought I'd just say what they do for now ^^
