"Princess, action needs to be taken immediately. Either we go out there and die fighting, or we hide in here and get killed. The only thing that's certain is the Goblin King and his army are going to kill us. If we hide here, it won't just be us who dies, everyone will. Including the lapdog, you care so much about. As a Medic, his place should be near the rear, but as a leader, you should be near the front. Leading," He explained. "I may be just a Knight's Captain, but from the sounds of it, there might not be much more." He grabbed her shoulders and turned her slowly so she was facing him again. "Fire me if you want. My duty is to the people, and if I have to go against you to keep them safe, I will."

"i need to complete the first two steps of our plan. We can work from there. Does that sound well to you?"
She crossed her arms.

"You better work fast, Princess." He said, securing his axe on his back. He took a few steps back towards the door. "Do you mind if I take your lapdog with me, out into the field of battle? I'm sure there will be wounded that need medical attention."

The princess sighed.
"i am not sure who to choose as far as marriage."
She lied, but she was hesitant to admit who it was.
"as for the infiltration, we will need a spy who is good at disguise, possibly magic even."

Quincy is sewing up some wounds

Cesidia peers at his back. “What am I looking at?”

After a moment, she can see a half faded scar on his left shoulder blade. "I was literally stabbed in the back, with a holy, super heated sword. It missed my heart by a few inches. My master kept me alive long enough for me to escape and heal myself."

'I'm sure the wounded bleeding out in the streets will see his medical care as truly needed, don't you?" He asked rhetorically. "I can't help on the marriage front. Other than that I got married when I was your age, and she died of the plague six years ago. Hurt me real hard, in here." He tapped his breastplate over his heart.
"As for a spy..." He walked over to the corpse of the Goblin that had made it inside earlier and picked up its sword. His magic armour melting away to reveal a dark coloured tunic. "I'll do anything for the people I've sworn to protect." He then walked over to one of the bodies of one of the soldiers who had died in Quincy's care. "Including defecting." With one quick strike, Deo removed the head from the body. "I'll drop the boy off at one of the triage tents before I get to the enemy lines." He lied. If he could get the Medic of the Princess's Personal Court, it would be a really good sign of faith that the Goblin King couldn't possibly deny.

The princess barely nodded. She sighed. She frowned when he said he could not help her as far as marriage. She watched as he did what he did with that tunic. She narrowed her eyes after that. She sensed a lie but could not be entirely sure.
"if anything happens to him, it will be on your head."
She was serious in her warning.

Cesidia frowns faintly as she traces the scar. “Was this during you were helping someone? Or after?”

"That's kind of the idea." He said cryptically. "At least until he reaches the triage camp, then it's on them." He said turning to leave. "One of my soldiers is outside standing guard." He told the princess. "Lapdog! Come with me. I'm escorting you to the front." He called to the medic as he made his leave.

"I was helping some so called holy men root out a worse evil. I had been summoned by a guild of mages, though most of them died in the ritual, and the place fell apart. I helped dig some of the attackers out of the rubble, and explained that I had nothing to do with the explosion. They seemed to believe me, at first. One of them even cast on of those scrying truth spells on me to be sure. I led them out, and as I was turning to leave, they jumped me, and ran me though. They all died near immediately, as they broke the contract., leaving me to pull a glowing sword that hurts my kind more then anything else, embedded in me. I had to rip it out, and burn the wound closed before I bled out."

"Don't be a dumb boy. You would let people on the field of battle bleed out because your ego is too big to be called by what you really are," Deo chortled. "I'll tell you what, Lapdog, you seemed so confident in your experience of war. A friendly dual in the Courtyard. If you win, I'll learn your name, which you never told me. If I win, you come along without complaint."
