Jason blinked. He saw the locket. He tried to snatch it back from her.
"How did you get that?! That's Emilys' locket!"
He was upset.

Marin tilts her head a little. “I know Emily, and she gave me this to give to you. She’s not coming back.”

[Vampiretwilight]

npc:
Jason glared. He snatched the locket out of her hands.
"She did not! She promised never to take it off! You don't know Emily at all!"

Marin crosses her arms. “I do know her. She was visiting her parents here when she disappeared. She’s feisty, stubborn, and hates restriction. She’s caring and relatively intelligent, but sometimes her emotion takes over.” Marin goes on, describing Emily, and hitting every nail on the head.

npc:
Jason narrowed his eyes.
"Anyone who has known her for two days knows all that. Try again."
He was not easily fooled, if at all.

Marin tilts her head slightly. “Your name is Jason. Your Emily’s college sweetheart. Perhaps from the same college that her friend goes to. I don’t know the friend’s name, but he is a young man that Emily looks after since he is always bullied. He got into yet another fight the day Emily disappeared. I also know that all of Emily’s female family members beyond her mother is either on the other side of the country, adults nearing their last leg, or deceased.”

npc:
Jason shook his head.
"You are wrong on quite a few things."
He narrowed his eyes.
"Those family members wanted nothing to do with Emilys' mother. She has family in town, but on her fathers' side. She was not looking after him, they are friends. She is always there to support him. She did not tell me about any fights, as she did not know of any herself. Besides, any classmate of hers would have known the stuff you are saying. And not necessarily friends either."
He was basically not fooled at all. He could always sense when someone was trying to get close to him for selfish reasons.

Marin frowns. She just wants to please her master; she didn't want anything beyond that. She sighs sadly and looks down. "I told you I don't know her that well. That's all I know," she says softly, genuinely upset. She wraps her arms around herself. "What does it matter how well I know her if I want to help?"

Jason narrowed his eyes. He crossed his arms.
"if you want to help, you will tell me the truth and tell me where she is for starters!"

[Shadow Dragon]

He paces in his laboratory.

Marin looks up at him. "I fear that you won't believe me and if I tell you where she is she could be in trouble. This isn't a good place to speak."

Jason narrowed his eyes.
"I just want my Emily back. she is the best thing that ever happened to me. I...I love her so much."
A tear rolled down his cheek.

Marin frowns sadly. “What’s it like? To love someone?” she asks softly.

Jason sighed.
"it is a wonderful feeling, but it comes with some risk. if I loose Emily, my heart will break, and it is a pain I do not wish on anyone. it is like depression, anger, and misery all rolled into one. Anyway, I feel like I am on cloud nine with Emily. She makes me happy. i'd do anything for her."

Marin sighs and crosses her arms. “I won’t talk about this in the open.”

Jason narrowed his eyes. He crossed his arms. He looked away.
"...fine."
He turned away.

Marin rolls her eyes, muttering, “Humans.” She grabs him by the arm and leads him away from the crowd to a secluded patch of trees. She points to a log. “Sit.”

Jason frowned. He shook his head. He was forced to sit down in the end. He looked quite angry after that, arms crossed and all. He turned his head away. He would not look at her.

Marin scowls; she doesn’t trust people who don’t look her in the eye. “Look me in the eye or I won’t tell you anything.”

Jason narrowed his eyes. His head turned towards her a bit. But, his emotions and such remained the same. He did not change. He waited. He was not patient though.
