Salem will try to endear themself to the other guild members, and will probably treat the monster ladies like "onee-chans". The problem with Salem is they are afraid to put any real effort into improving a relationship. I think of Salem like the following video, minus the having all the money in the world part:



Salem demands warmth, but is incapable of reciprocating warmth in an honest and sincere way. Salem does empathize with the others on one point: their creators abandoned them, though Salem's creator abandoned them first. Salem sees Rodias as two things: 1. the only creator who hasn't abandoned the guild yet, which deserves loyalty, and 2. someone who might abandon the guild at any moment, which deserves suspicion.

And yeah, Salem has a lot of Brave Little Toaster and Toy Story vibes, at least when it comes to being owned and abandoned, and unhealthy attachments/obsessions.

Ashara won't be a good onee-sama to the little toy-boy, his innate feelings of hate, jealousy, suspiscion and obsessive fear won't translate very well to her sensing of intent-ability. :P
Even if she doesn't know what or why they feel the way they do, she'll likely just be - as always - polite and friendly, but neither warm nor invested in bettering relations. After all, it's a malevolent spirit who has no gender, nor an actual body - nothing of interest to the foxy lady~ ;3

Honestly, that veneer of 'friendly and polite' is probably sufficient for Salem, who prefers surface-level relationships because Salem has Hedgehog's Dilemma in spades. Salem does feel a sense of camaraderie with the other NPCs, seeing them as fellow 'lost things' and monsters. Relationships are like playing 'House' for Salem; they're willing to pretend to be, and act the part of the 'little brother' if Ashara is willing to pretend to be, and act the part of the 'older sister'. Even if the relationship is not real (and even mildly uncomfortable for both parties), Salem is satisfied as long as someone indulges the farcical fantasy. It's like eating cotton, it has no nutritional value, but at least it staves off the hunger and feeling of emptiness, which ironically fits because there's a lot of stuffed animals in the City of Lost Things.

On that note, Salem probably sees Graft like an uncle, Mamoru, Chuunithulu, Kath, and Light as older sisters, and Kaldorna as an aunt.

I know Light just wants everyone to get along and be friends, although she is very fay about it. She'll be very bubbly and touchy/huggy, might pull a few pranks, is often looking for fun and will become temporarily attached to whatever entertains her, and overall is both cheerful, and incredibly detached. Its hard to explain but you'll see what I mean in the RP.

But she is incredibly honest and you'll know where you stand with her pretty quickly. Don't treat her badly and she wont treat you badly. although intruders will see different sides of her depending on where they are. At the start she'll either hug them, or just let them do whatever. But if they trespass in the vault area, she'll Jason Vorhees them.

I'm trying to figure out what Light sees everyone as besides friends or cohorts/commrades atm. I can see her being enamored by Graft, as smooth talkers are a weakness of hers. Not sure where she stands with everyone else yet though. Although anyone who constantly refuses her hugs will irritate her, I'm sure of that xD.

Not sure Ashara would play the prt of an older sister though, she considers the Chapter Keepers to be "higher" in the pecking-order, and as such views them as superiors more than outright friends or family. Of course, if lil' Salem insists on playing the brother/sister card, I suppose she would play along just as to indulge his wishes - so long as it doesn't get weird. :P

And then, does that mean that he views Rodias as his Papa? xD

Given that the homunculi maids in the canon setting had to eat, quite a lot, and Aura was shown eating (what was eseentially a McDonald's meal), I'd say that if you're not undead, a construct or other being that doesn't need nutrients, you probably need to eat something, sometimes. Be it actual meat, souls, blood or whatever. Doubt Tree will be too picky about that particular detail though, unless we're in an area with absolute no food. Although, CZ was shown to want to eat breakfast with Lupusregina, and she's an automaton...

Mamoru is the NEET sibling who always claims is too busy to help you with your homework, but always has time to go grab lunch or mooch off your dinner plans. If I had to guess Mamoru’s actual position in the guild, she still cares for everyone as fellow guild members, but might be considered a “defiant” one since much like her creator, she is willing to have an opposing view and not just mindlessly agreeing with the majority. Granted unlike her creator, Mamoru does this out of usually legitimate concern and caution as oppose to her creator’s desire to create chaos and drama.

Gromgard is more the trusted Captain of the Guard and will act as a big brother but I doubt Light would like him very much because he doesn't like being touched at all.

@Xaltwind Oh, well, I'd best update Light's sheet then. She loves normal food and can eat like goku, but she can sustain herself on just sanity and fear. She just doesn't use that as her main food because "It doesn't really fill you up." xD. Is Mamoru the cook? Hope she can cook meat. Light is mostly a carnivore. (look at those teeth xD.)

Gromgard might be a target of Light's pranks then if he wont accept hugs. xD shame Ashara isn't a prankster, everyone could bond over that xD.

Dr.Drd is Salem's "Papa" to whom Salem harbors the kind of absolute loyalty that can only be born from abusive neglect. Salem's opinion of Rodias can be summed up by the following quotes, "I guess you're my step-dad. Are you going to leave me too?" and, "If I'm a good boy, will you stay?" It gets slightly worse because Salem recognizes the Player Characters as higher beings, so it's also a bit like the following:



Funny note, Salem abuses their telekinesis and tends to travel by telekinetically dangling everywhere like a puppet, and if given the chance, will hover to, and rest on people's shoulders:

There's not really a limit to how many of a certain race there can be. These are limits you're imposing on yourself because you seem to want to play someting "unique". We got two dragonoids, two vampires, two spirit-like-beings, so really, what's the issue? Just do the idea you wanted to do, even if there's a character who is similar, they're not the same, right?

Honestly, don't guilt-trip people for working and adding to their character. That's not cool.

@Xaltwind I don't think it's unfair for me to take umbrage with someone changing their character to be exactly what I mentioned that I was trying to do for the sake of originality, deliberately trying to avoid doubling up on the accepted characters, and then just saying "too bad" when I politely asked them to reconsider.

But like I said, I'll come up with something else.

Mamoru actually doesn’t really make them either, they simply follow her commands when it comes to cleaning and upkeeping the Chateau. Considering they’re incredibly weak and come en mass, I’d guess they’re mindless creatures and thus things like “sanity”, “fear”, or “confusion” isn’t going to be a problem for them. They only know how to clean and otherwise follow Mamoru’s orders.

And t goes without saying that they’ll clean up any bloody mess they happen to come across too. It is one of the few things they know how to do.
