This is a thread for debates (more or less) and general discussion. These topics can be roleplay related, or not (mainly not). PM me with a topic that you would like to see discussed and I will post it here, giving you credit. People can discuss/debate topics in this thread, though I ask you to please be civil. This thread can become something great if we all work together in order to have civil, productive conversations. I will post the new topics of discussion when it seems that the other topic has been discussed enough. Depending on the topic, this can be a day, a few days, a week, perhaps even a month.

Without further ado, here is our first topic.

What is you favorite 'weird' food combo?

I don't really do "weird food" even though I'll practically eat anything. Guess the closest would have to be putting potato chips on a sandwich, rather than a side. It's pretty good; gives the sandwich some extra flavor and a satisfying crunch.

My dad used to make these sandwiches for my brothers and I when we were little that were bologna, miracle whip, and barbecue chips.

That's the only way I'll eat bologna or barbecue chips unless in a really, really, really rare mood.

Bourbon alcohol with cereals. I think it was Crunchy Nuts.

I also once used peanut butter on salmon fillets when I ran out of sauce, turned out to taste pretty damn good if you add chilis and garlic into the mix.

And oh, almost forgot the time I carved holes into pear fruits, filled them with goat cheese, honey and walnuts, then roasted them.

Miracle whip is a straight no for me. I don't do that or mayo.

Right now I've been using some Walmart brand queso chips with them. We bought them sometime ago and no one really liked the taste, but at least they're somewhat edible on a sandwich. Better to eat them instead of just tossing them out, too.

I was ready to happily try all the strange food combos that might be posted in this thread, but this is a whole new level of somethin' I'll tell you that. Do you genuinely eat this combo? How does the cheese and chocolate taste together? Is the queso on the mild or spicy side? Spicy chocolates are pretty good but the cheese...??? The cookie texture? I figure the cream in an oreo is minimal enough to ignore but I'm very curious about this monstrosity.

If you pair dark chocolate with blue cheese, you'd get a balanced flavor of bittersweet, which is delicious.

I mean, not regularly. There comes a time in every person's life where they look in their pantry and see "Oh shit this nacho cheese I bought is gonna expire soon, I should do something about it" but you don't have any chips to dip or whatever so you look and go "I've already come this far, what the hell" and the cookie goes in the cheese and the combination is a winning blend of "I thought that would be worse" and "At least I'm not throwing up".

How does the cheese and chocolate taste together?

Cheese and chocolate go together well enough but it depends on the cheese and the chocolate but also that only applies in, like, fancy settings. Think of it as fondue except instead of dipping bread in piping hot melted cheese pots you're dipping a sandwich cookie in a jar of room temperature slightly spicy nacho cheese dip.

In all actuality you mostly get the nacho cheese followed by oreo rather than a combination of the two. It's salty and a bit spicy then sweet so it works okayish. It could be worse.

but I'm very curious about this monstrosity.

Well there's only one way to sate that curiosity

I went through a phase of putting ketchup on everything. Didn't matter if it was sandwiches, pizza, chips, I was obsessed with it. I still sort of do it but nowhere as often as I do now.

Not sure if considered a combo in the food context but I like garlic and eat it straight up sometimes. My friends say I'm weird for doing that, but then again, I'm a weird dude.

Garlic is great for flavor enhancement, and ketchup is probably my favorite condiment, right next to Ranch. I to, put ketchup, on a lot of things.

Scrambled eggs and ketchup SMACK. Y'all can fight me.

Everyone is disgusted but curious until they try it and like 70 percent of the time the response is "Well that's not so bad" and I take that as a win.

Garlic-infused olive oil is legit the best cooking oil you'll find for anything and you can't prove me wrong!

And yes! I fucking love ketchup on my scrambled eggs. People say it doesn't add any flavor but ugh, I might have some now.
