Good day, Edgelords and M'bladies! Another fun filled day of raucous adventure continues in the once peaceful lands of Avonshire, and here you all are to take advantage of the happenings. Now, if that doesn't just beg for jollies to be had so hard you want to smack it in the face with a rolled up newspaper, I don't know what will.

Anyway, thanks to a couple of standard NPC Perception and Insight rolls, a new clue has opened up for potential puzzle-piecing. So now the question becomes: Can you trust the source? Best of luck in the upcoming. Just remember that the weather sucks for everybody and events are both structured (in the sense that a timeline exists) and dynamic (meaning that factors such as action, inaction, weather, and unknown/random factors may influence them). In the end, player decision and the oft fickle Dice Gods will determine your fate.

Well, we are again. Not a very far step into the day, but what might be a interesting few minutes in the timeline nonetheless. As a DM, I might advise that one reads between the lines for intent, rather than phrasing. And another update comes, conveniently on Update Day! Yay! In any case, the weather for this cycle is still being a pain, with just a touch or relief showing. Perhaps an opportunity to plan? Or just one for social niceties. Either way, it looks like the Harvestide Festival has taken a near-mortal blow. Ah, the game is fast becoming afoot! Not that it was merely a-toe before, but things are happening. You will notice that this one was relatively short. This is on purpose. As we move into the Third Act, as it were, I'm going to need to plan the PCs environment based upon the timetable and events present in the general, current clack of the Avonshire Township. This means, this round is the time to finalize the PCs plans and begin to move on them - even if those plans are to stay put. It's an option as valid as any. In any case, the update is posted and if there are any questions, requests, or rolls you want to get done, do be in contact via our Discord.

I would like to start things off by congratulating all of you on your amazingly similar Perception rolls. That, coupled with the overall passive Perception of the group and I feel an odd need to stoke paranoia. Maaaaybe something's there. Maaaaybe something's not. Who knows? Anyway, I've stopped things right in front of the Silversmith's place, so do what you think is necessary for ...stuff. In short, wherever your posts start, they have to end in that location. Get with each other if you need to work something out, collab if you want, do your thing.

Any attempts to interact with the building or any possible inhabitants need to run through me, as we are in a pivotal juncture here, with reactions depending upon routes taken. Intended actions may be subject to die rolls just as often as common sense calls will be made. Recall how this man was described, and also recall how he was acting the last time he was spoken with. And remember, the situation is dynamic. Other things are happening while this transpires all over town. Well here we are again, me writing something, you reading it. It's like what happens when you write something, but reciprocity. Anyhoo, were this a sci-fi door, it would have already given us a cheesy robotic voice assuring us, "ACCESS GRANTED". But no one is by any means out of the woods yet. The letter has bought an audience, or more to the point, an initial advantage to get things moving and not unfavorable reaction.

Admittedly, there are more opportunities for things to happen, both positive and negative, inside of the silversmith's shop. The situation outside has not changed, but at least a half-crazy paranoid guy isn't pointing a crossbow at you all out there (yet). The stage is set, do what you will.

This is a copy/paste with some alterations from our previous combat encounter. The same rules apply:

To be clear, we are NOT in Initiative order yet, and will not be until I post it here in the OOC. Continue to do your thing and speak among yourselves in the OOC Lounge in Discord. I will be doing checks behind the DM Screen (a restricted room in the Discord server) to determine various behind-the-scenes stuff that your characters are just not privy to as of yet. Please keep this in mind. When combat ensues, in the Location part of your header, fill in with the square you are currently occupying, an arrow ( -> ) and the square you are going to.

Example: P14 -> K18

When combat is entered into officially, the posting rules change. Roll your initiatives in the Discord OOC and tag me. I will roll for the baddies and we'll get ourselves an initiative order. The first person in that list has TWO DAYS to handle requests and post their actions. Actions are to be noted in the spaces provided in your header. When you are done with your actions, TAG THE NEXT PERSON IN THE INITIATIVE ORDER in your post. If it's an NPC, that means it's me.

I must admit that there is a flaw in my system here, as it relates to Reactions. All I can say is that we'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. If you can get in a Reaction and choose to, let me know. Until a better system is in place, we will work something out.

As posted in Discord, the initial locations of the Constable and his people are: J-11, J-12, and I-12, with Cavendish at the lead. All are facing toward the smith's door.

In the previous round, the two hidden Guards were given an end-of-round action because of circumstances. Now that they are active and in play, they join in in the proper Initiative, which admittedly looks a whole lot like the way it panned out this time, except that Guard 3 got just a little luckier than Marita and Kat.

Anyway, I would like to bring up some header issues - make sure you are updating this. This includes Location, including the format for movement on the map. Don't put unnecessary things into it unless previously approved. These things make my job tracking stuff easier.

And we have officially dropped out of Initiative Order. Yay! Posting rules go back to regular cycles and characters have full range of action (within reason).

Congratulations on surviving the battle. Some of you are more than a little banged-up, but that's okay! This party is heavy with the potential heals. To recap: Cavendish escaped as if by magic, though not before losing his hammer. One of the Guards lay in the middle of the street in uncertain-to-dead condition, and three have hightailed it after taking respectable damage. It's a victory, even if it promises further conflict later. Also, mild apologies for getting the update set without a great deal of detail. Seeing as I've been describing this area for the past couple of months IRL and there are maps, I think we're good for a shorter update. If you have questions, fire them at me in our Discord or tag me here.

Timers have been reset. Seven days from today to post. There has been a request for a possible extension which, due to the season, I fully understand. There will also be a pause as we get nearer to Christmas/Hanukkah/Yule, so if you need time just let me know. Happy Holidays, and whatnot.

Aaaaaaaand the update had been updated. Posting rules (or the loosening thereof) for the next two weeks have been set in the Discord, but don't let that stop you from getting some words in or asking some IC questions. I will need an accounting of who stepped into the silversmith's shop and if indeed the place was locked up behind you, as well as the location and general treatment of the captured Guard. Aside from that, please allow me to wish you all a spiffy holiday season.

Is Samurai considered a subclasses? Under the Fighter class at least.

Also, where is the link for that DND character sheet thats seen in the other apps?

Samurai subclass is featured in Xanathar's Guide to Everything, which is an accepted source for this RP. If you are asking this for the purposes of submitting a character, there is a Samurai-like fighter type in the setting, though they live a hell of a long way off from the region portrayed here. Will require some creative background work. Also, we're nearing the endgame of this part of the RP. I couldn't bring in another character at this time, though I would be open to keeping it in reserve if we all agree to move into Part 2.

Concerning the character sheet link - I'm not sure what you mean by this. The CS used by the people here is discussed in the original OOC post.

Good day, Edgelords and M'bladies! We are back up and running in full form, doing both the D and the D, as befits our heathen proclivities. With this in mind, we are back to our regular posting cycle. Stuff IC seems to be winding up to a head, which is expected with the coming nightfall.

With this in mind, remember that the Current Clack is still a'clacking, regardless of what characters are doing in the area. Depending upon where said characters are they may have the possibility to influence these events, but, we can't be everywhere, now can we? And even if we could, resources are finite things. (insert evil laugh here) Best of luck, and remember that questions, roll requests, etc., can be placed in the OOC Lounge of our Discord.
