@Archangel89 Gotchya! Yeah, like I said, do what you want. My example was merely the more min-max version. Let me think about this... Hmmm. So, the Fighter is the dip, but the Bladesong still needs Leather armor to be effective... You sounded like you wanted WIS to not get any lower, and CON can't really afford much change, especially since DEX is about to get ganked...
Alright, from the top with all 13's, Mountain dwarf for a chonky +2 CON and +2 STR. We frisk CHA and leave INT as 18 base, since the Bladesong AC and CON save bonus depends on it. 3 points from WIS to raise STR, DEX and CON all to 14. Dwarf bonus raises STR & CON to 16.
STR - 16 DEX - 14 CON - 16 INT - 18 WIS - 10 CHA - 8
HP: 25 (taking average hp, accounting for Fighter d10) AC: 13 (light armor)/ 17 (with Bladesong) +5 to hit with weapon, +5 to damage (with dueling)
This is the best I've got for yeh, unless you plan to drop anything else to bump up STR. Another option, if you don't care about preparing too many spells, is to switch DEX and INT, so that your AC can be more reliable at all times, but it will cost you with your Bladesong AC and CON save bonus.
Also, Sigil allows us to start with extra gear (within reason) to represent us being Level 3 adventurers, so be sure to ask about starting with Studded Leather armor for an extra +1 AC bump.
Rickard stands at 6'3" and walks with an aire of self importance. While his armor is fairly plain, his cloths are anything but. His pants are thick wool dyed a light brown, his shirt made of good silk dyed a forest green. Silver thread embroidery makes the sigil of his family on his left breast, a large maple tree it's branches stretched high and wide full of leaves. On his left hand ring finger he wears a simple silver ring with a small blue-green tourmaline.
He keeps both armor and clothing in as pristine condition as he can using simple magic.
While he is young for a high elf, 102, to most he appears to be close the human age of 20.
Rickard is a fairly outgoing individual and tends to always carry himself with confidence and an aire of self importance. Rarely found without having prepared himself, his outward appearance is purposely displaying what he thinks of himself.
Often he will go out of his way to try to impress people and present the image of a hero. By doing this he ends up helping people, or finding someone to help them.
During most of his youth, he was fascinated with the tales of heros from long ago, and often how people looked up to them. He often emulated elven heros wielding magical weapons, fighting vicious monsters to save the villagers from peril. Other times would imagine that he was pursuing a terrible band of bandits who were raiding the locals of good and anything of value. Regardless he was always a hero dressed in fine armor or clothing. As he grew, the dreams of being seen as a hero grew with him.
At the age of sixteen, he began to squire for Ser Lynda Cauldburry, the daughter of the lord that his family owned homage to. While serving as her squire, she taught him what she could of how to utilize some magic while still primarily wearing armor and fighting with swords, mace, lance, and axe. During this time Rickard traveled often with Ser Lynda to various tourneys, hunting trips, diplomatic errands, and pursuits of potential outlaws. He'd learned how to make camp, how to hunt for and prepare food, as well as proper grooming for horses.
After Rickard was knighted he still traveled with Lynda. The two grew closer during this time as well, him following her where ever she went. Eventually he was summon to Lord Cauldburry's hall for a private audience. It was then that the lord had asked about Rickard and Lynda's relationship. Cauldburry had started to hear rumors about the two and wanted to know for himself the truth of the matter. Rickard denied the rumor. Lord Cauldburry stated that Rickard should gather his things and return to the Barriden holdings, as his services were no longer needed.
Not wanting to create any more problems, Rickard returned home. From there he continued to go out and see what he could do to help the common folk his family looked after. A month later word reached the Barridens that Lynda and her father had an argument about Rickard's dismissal and she had left in a fury. Her father had not heard from her in weeks and was growing more concerned with each passing day.
With this news Rickard also started to worry that she had gotten into some trouble. He gathered three others to set out looking for Lynda. He spent weeks searching through areas he knew that she like to go to, the river town where ale from dwarven settlements came in regularly. A large open plain that one could ride for hours and see only a few homesteads and farmers tending fields. Lastly he went to the large woods that sat on the very edge of his own family's lands. There was a large clearing that stood on the border, a small stream marking the divide in the property. He found her there, camped raised near the stream with a duck cooking over a fire.
After telling his companions to stay put, he called out to Lynda and slowly walked out. She had quickly jumped up with bow in hand and arrow knocked as she turned to face him. Rickard stopped his approach waiting for Lynda to lower the bow. Calmly she asked him why he left, why he didn't insist that he should remain by her side.
In this moment he admitted that he had wanted to stay and be with her. It had been in order to stay the rumors and to please her father that he left. He told her that he had been planning on proposing to her and wanted her fathers blessing on the matter.
She lowered her bow and beckoned him over to the camp and to sit and eat. The two discussed the matter more through the next three days. On the fourth day they broke down the camp and started back to Cauldburry's keep.
After escorting her home, Rickard had stayed in a local inn for a few days to rest and prepare for the trip home. The day before he intended to debate he was summoned to Lord Cauldburry's hall. Rickard was asked about what he had talked to Lynda about. He admitted that to what he had told her and that he was sincere about it.
Expecting to be thrown out of the hall and shamed for being so bold, he was surprised when Lord Cauldburry simply sighed. Cauldburry asked if Rickard was certain in this, if he was certain that he was able to watch her grow old long before he will. Rickard repeated that he was certain and understood that he would long out live her, and probably any children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, they had. With his confirmation Cauldburry said he would consider the matter and dismissed Rickard.
Having lingered two days past his intended day of departure, Rickard set out with his three companions making their way home at a fairly slow pace. When his traveling party was a day out from his home five riders came up from behind them at a hard gallop. As the riders got closer he saw Lynda at the head with four of her families servents.
Once she had caught up to him she slowed her horse and proceeded to inform him her father had agreed to the proposal. The two were married shortly after and lived on the Barriden lands in a home near the woods the two enjoyed so much. There they raised two sons and three daughters. Their children each went on and had their own children and much was at peace.
Near Rickard eighty-first birthday Lynda passed away. He left the estate he had built for Lynda and him and moved back to his families main estate. After his grieving, he grew restless again and started to travel more and participate in tournaments more frequently. Word of bandits and highway men lead him to gather a few soldiers and run them off, giving back to the common folk that had been robbed what he could. What he could not he used what funds he had access to through his family to help them rebuild. He strives more now than before to be a true hero to the common folk.
Owns two hunting hounds, both mastiffs, that he raised from pups. He left them at his family estate after receiving a letter for help.
Likes: Being showered in gratitude Good wine Telling stories about himself, true or not Seeing his children and grandchildren
Dislikes: Rude individuals Having his family insulted Not being able to present himself at his best Bandits
Hobbies: Hunting Participating in tournaments Being a hero
11/6/2021 *Fixed color error for Charisma. 11/7/2021 *Fixed ability scores by adding two points to dexterity, done to both this CS and the D&D beyond sheet.
Front line damage dealer, potential damage sponge, and attention grabber. Offers some support in spells to help the party.
@Lurking Krog Color code issue in ability scores. Racial modifiers to ability scores. The purple color is close to Victoria's, but it might be okay. Will send you an invite to the D&DBeyond campaign so that I can take a look at your background stuff and extras.
Past this, when a thematically sound opening comes, I'll greenlight you.
So question@Sigil when/if we are accepted you send us a link to the dndbeyond game as mentioned above, does it have access to all the materials allowed here? Meaning I madebmy sheet in mythweaver if accepted could I then remake a sheet with beyond and use that instead?
@Archangel89 No. I do not have sharing enabled. This is just for me to have full access to the CS, including the hidden stuff. The fact that it already crunches the numbers and has point & click access to descriptions/rules is a perk.
Ok this is my sheet, the racial modifiers have been added the character sheet is finished and it is awaiting judgement. Also I was told that we were allowed extra gear within reason so I was requesting Studded Leather armor. I bolded it in the description of the character so that you could know that it was the piece of equipment I was requesting @Sigil
Barkom is a very uptight dwarf from his demeanor to his stature. Standing roughly five feet even his deep auburn hair sits somewhat neatened flowing down to his shoulders which meets his thick chest length beard. His attire mainly consists of a thick leather trench coat over his STUDDED LEATHER ARMOR which his atop his mining pants that he keeps tucked into his boots.
Upon his person he usually keeps a leather satchel that he keeps most of his go-to items in, mostly spell components, his coin pouch, various potions, and raw ingredients to create said various potions. On his hip he keeps any documents he needs which includes different research notes and dwarven to common translations. On either hip are two dwarven made hand-axes and on his back is his family's axe Dalozzurum
A fine dwarven battle axe made with a dark wood handle wrapped in old worn leather straps. The head of the axe is slightly worn black iron and engraved with dwarven runes that line both ends of the blade. The runes are newer than the rest of the axe due to Barkom's delve into the arcane, in lieu of carrying around a traditional spell book he chose to engrave his spells onto his family axe and use it as his arcane focus.
Barkom is a no nonsense dwarf who takes his military training to heart. Always keen to follow orders despite what those order entail, there are very few times if any that there are reasons to follow orders. Among others he tends to keep people at a distance, holding people to their word and exacting the appropriate "justice" for the situation.
His only driving force is to return home to his people and find a way to overturn his exile by way of proving his worth through arcane studies. He strives to correct the mistakes of his youth and return to his people a proper dwarf.
Barkom began his life as many other dwarf children within the mountain, born to a moderately wealthy family of soldiers, he was trained from a young age in the art of war and trained with an axe and shield. His formative years consisted of training, studying and learning the layout of all known tunnels surrounding the city. Life in the early years was great, he had the love and support of his family his master respected him and he was in line to join the next scouting party for a newly discovered tunnel in the mountain. Life was good.
The expedition was longer than anticipated and the dwindling resources caused a need for a return back to the city. In the face of overwhelming opposition, Barkom managed to convince a small group to follow him farther to chase down glory and riches. A half of days travel the group was ambushed by goblins which the team fought off bravely but slain all but Barkom who managed to escape and make his way injured back to the city. The entire city was in an uproar and the ruling council decreed that due to his arrogance he had to be exiled.
Years passed and Barkom wandered the topside completing jobs around different villages and trying to make a life for himself as an adventurer. Along his journeys he took up the study of magic learning how to harness the arcane to enhance his combat prowess. His time learning helped ease him into the life of a solitary adventurer and he honors his family by using his family axe, given to him the day that he was exiled, and used it as his spell book.
He has riden his share of horses but he has never kept to close compainions with them.
@Archangel89 I don't know the CS RAW text inside and out, so I couldn't say exactly what it is, but something in your CS hider isn't working right. Whole sheet should be hidden, not just the sub-categories.
Scratch that, found what I think is the issue.
Your sheet is missing this on the first line:
[hider= Barkon Starkdelver]
Just copy and paste that at the start of the first line, and that should hopefully fix things.
@Archangel89 Image size needs to have a height of 250px or less. Cool on studded leather as an upgrade. Not a big deal at all. That aside, would you please run me through the math on your ability scores? Those numbers look high.
EDIT: Upon comparison, your color code is way too close to the dark grey I use for NPCs and updates. That will need a change out.
@Sigil Oh, whoopsie there. I was helping him out with figuring out the point buy, and there must have been a miscommunication.
@Archangel89 The totals of what I showed you were the total AFTER the racial bonus had already been added, as I spelled out my process. The STR and END should both be 16 in total, as both should have been 14 BEFORE the racial bonus.
@Sigil Lewa helped me understand the math of how it works and I used his example. I misunderstood and thought what he showed me was pre-racial mods and it was not. I will fix that and the hex-code ASAP
@Archangel89 Nice. Yeah, sorry about that. Also, Sigil has green-lit the Studded Leather armor above, so you should be able to edit your AC to 14 instead and remove any unnecessary bold-ing of words related to it.
Also, here's the approved PCs thus-far, so you can see which text colors are already taken.
Approved Characters:
>list] [*] Victoria Belmont (Half-Elf Bard) [*] Marita Bärbel (Human Cleric) [*] Kosara (Tiefling Warlock) [*] Naivara Gray (Wood Elf Druid) [*] Kathryn Pyke (Human Fighter) [*] Jorlton Forpara (Forest Gnome Rogue) [*] Hugh Caphazath (Half-Elf Monk) [*] Mona Holcombe (this player is temporarily away from the RP, but this is their color, so a dark yellow could work if desired)
As for image size: You'll need to download/have the image and then find a way to edit it (possibly by right click). Try to find a custom "resize" option and then switch the height to 250 exactly (the width should auto-adjust as a result). Then re-add it, and you're golden. I use windows and had to open the image first, then right click to find resizing, so I don't know if that'll be helpful to you.
@Lurking Krog CS looks good, so far as I can tell. Now we wait until a member opening and/or thematically appropriate moment to come in.
@Archangel89 Same as above, with one caveat - please list your character levels as, in your instance, 1/2. Mountain Dwarf Bladesinger sounds like an oxymoron, but it is RAW. Interested to eventually see where that goes.
