Willow watches nervously, unsure what Rowan is planning as he holds onto her hand. As he licks her wrist, she feels like every hair on her body stands straight up, a shiver up her spine causing her to wiggle. Squirming, she tries to pull away from him before going stock still as she feels his fangs against her skin.

“R-Rowan?” She manages to stammer. When she realizes she’s not scared of him, she blinks and tries to figure out what sensation she’s feeling instead. Her nose wiggles as a more citrus scent fills her nostrils. “Wh… what…?” This is her scent, but she’s never ‘scented’ something in her life. Why is the smell so strong right now?

He looked to her more, inhaling and getting a hint of her citrus. His pupils dilate at the smell. He quickly pulls her hand away and clamps a hand over his mouth and nose. He leans forward, picking her up at the waist and moving back down the stairs. He set her on the bed, and then pointed to the blankets and pillows. "You can't leave this room, alright? I have to go and get you some food to restock the fridge. Your body will instinctively want to nest. That's what those are."

He turned, hand still over his mouth and nose as he started out of the room. Really? Pre-heat after explaining everything, though honestly.. it might have been his fault. Thankfully his ruts never aligned with being here, but if he is around her that might change and he doesn't want them to regret anything.

Willow yelps in surprise as the atmosphere between them changes drastically and she’s being carried again. She promptly falls on her bum after Rowan sets her down and watches in bewilderment as he tells her she can’t leave the room. “W-wait!” She scrambles as she tries to get to her feet, eyes wide and ears folded back. She hadn’t expected this to happen so soon after just learning about it all. “I actually have a lot of questions!” Suddenly her plan of just ‘figuring it out along the way’ doesn’t seem viable anymore.

She pauses at the edge of the bed, remembering how he had described everything, even if it was briefly. She definitely doesn’t want to go through this for the first time alone, but she doesn’t want to be an inconvenience. Will she actually try to throw herself at him? “Rowan… I’m scared…” She mumbles this, not wanting to guilt him into anything, but she’s being honest. “S-sorry, this probably isn’t any easier on you… Um, I’ll be alright I’m sure.” She sits back onto the bed, folding her hands in her lap.

He stops and turns a little at his name. He watches her for a moment, probably seeping her fear into her scent. He moves back over and reaches out. He's hesitant, but he touches her cheek, hand still over his nose. "I know you're scared, but I have to leave right now. I have to grab some scent blockers and a nose punch if I want to even step foot in here. I'm lucky my ruts don't align with when I come here, but that doesn't mean.. I can't go into one. This is your first one outside of the pill, so it'll be more potent. I can already tell from your pre-heat scent."

He draws away and sets a hand on her head, but doesn't ruffle. He then turns back towards the door. "I'll be back. I promise. Try starting your nest to get your mind into your instincts. Let me know when I come back if you feel like anything is missing from it." He pauses at the steps. "And don't be embarrassed if you get undressed. It's natural." He then quickly goes up the stairs and closes the door. He leans against it for a moment before grabbing his wallet and going out of the house. Dammit.

Willow looks up at Rowan, her brow crinkled as she nods. She can’t help but lean into him when he touches her cheek. When he only sets his hand on her head, not ruffling her hair, she can tell he’s being serious and feels embarrassed for not being stronger. “O-okay…” She says as he leaves before flushing. The stripping part is real?

She stares at the stairs after she hears the door close, her frown returning. Outside of running into Grant twice now, things over the last week had been going so smoothly. But now? It feels like the two have gone backwards now. Taking Rowan’s advice, Willow starts moving the pillows and blankets around, not really sure what nesting should look or feel like.

Thankfully there was an omega store in this little town, so he was able to get what he needed for Willow, as well as some things to get help if he needed to be present. He was quick to come back to the house after also stopping to grab some food for the fridge. Before he went back downstairs, he rummaged around and put on a strip on his nose that would block Willow's scent. He also threw on some scent patches, even dropping his pants to put some on his inner thigh glands.

He cleared his throat, grabbing all the bags and knocked on the door before opening and coming inside. "Hey. I'm back. How's it going?" He set the bags on the counter, glancing to Willow and the nest and blinking. "Uhh.. Are you alright?"

Willow looks up from her haphazard pillow fort with a sheepish look. “I have no idea what I’m doing.” She says in a huff before folding her arms over her chest. “All I can think of is a bird’s nest.” Her ears twitch back and forth as if trying to receive satellite signals that’ll tell her what she’s supposed to do. “Didn’t you grab books from your study or office or whatever? Or will those not help me?”

Her gave a soft laugh. "Nesting is instinctual. The books only really tells you the best materials." He ran up to grab them and then set them on the counter when he came back down. "I'm not going to touch it, because your omega might think I'm your mate in that sense. But.. I want you to close your eyes." He leaned against the counter, crossing his arms.

Once she did, he smiled. "Now, letting the feeling of your omega surface. You'll know what it feels like. Almost like a secondary voice in the back of your head urging you to do things. It'll tell you how the nest should look, and what extra things it needs."

Willow gives a small pout when Rowan laughs at her, even if it was soft. As he talks about her omega confusing him for a mate, she blushes and looks down for a moment, trying not to say the first thing that came to mind. What would be wrong with that? She closes her eyes at his prompting and tries to follow his instruction, her nose and brow crinkling in concentration before she hears a whisper tickle her brain.

Fluffy… Soft…

An image comes to mind of soft plushies, fuzzy pillows, and lots of blankets stacked together almost in the shape of an igloo. The pillows and plushies create a circular wall while the blankets provide a ‘ceiling’ to the nest.

Soft… Fluffy…

Willow peeks her eyes open as her nose wiggles, looking around at what’s available. “Do you have any stuffed animals?” She asks in a soft tone. She’s sure the voice and the image were what Rowan was trying to have her connect to. “The fluffier and softer, the better.” She peers out of her misshapen pillow fort to look at Rowan with wide, pleading eyes as her omega hums in delight at the idea.

Rowan watched her for a moment before pursing his lips and then creating a thin line for them. That was an odd request for a nest. Huh. He looked back up to her and tilted his head a little, half falling over his shoulder. "What's it look like? I don't recommend stuffed animals. You'll get slick over most of the materials in the nest and I'd hate to get you some and them be ruined. If you can tell me how it's suppose to look, I can probably bring you one, but only one."

He looked to the nest on the bed. She honestly hadn't done a bad job from what he saw, but even felt like it was missing something. He couldn't understand why, but he knew there was something off. "Why don't you.. make a barrier around the edge of the pillows and drape the blankets over top of those, and then create a pillow bottom and more blankets and see if you need anything?"

Willow’s brow crinkles again and she frowns, a little sad about the lack of stuffies before her face becomes flushed from Rowan saying she’d ruin them. “It’s that intense?” She whispers, but then he mentions getting her one and she beams brightly. “How’d you know what it looks like?” She asks as she starts moving things per his instructions. “I saw plushies and pillows make a little wall like a well with blankets over it.” She goes on to explain, glancing at him frequently as she moves things around. She still doesn’t quite understand a lot of what to expect, but this part didn’t feel bad at least. Maybe the whole thing will be as easy as this, she hopes.

"I've shared a couple heats with my sister when we were younger." He held up a hand with a frown. "Not the sexual way. I kept my clothes on. We had a rough childhood and I was the only Alpha she felt safe with until she met her now mate. It was only there for cuddling and scenting and only after she had sated herself." He dropped his hand, looking over to her and the nest. "So I know what a nest looks like. Blankets and pillows are the easiest to clean, hence why they're the most commonly used and most mass produced items for Omegas."

He moved to a door she hadn't noticed before and rummaged around before coming out with a slightly large stuffed wolf. It was ironically his coloring. So it was probably the aide for his sister. He brought it to the bed, and held it out, but didn't cross the nest with his arm or the wolf. She had to come and take it.

Willow watches, tempted to laugh when Rowan goes on to explain why he’d share heats with his sister. Her mind hadn’t gone to anything sexual when he said it, but it’s cute that he felt the need to make sure she understood it correctly. Nodding, she determines it makes sense to use pillows and blankets instead of stuffed animals, but also adds a note to herself that she’d find some way to add plushies to her nest without ruining them someday.

“Aww!” Her eyes go wide as Rowan pulls out a plush wolf. “It matches your ears and tail!” She says excitedly, scrambling out of the nest to grab it greedily from his hands.

He chuckled lightly and nodded. "I scented it for her when I couldn't help you because of school or family meetings." He moved back to the counter and started putting the food away in the fridge. "I got you mostly vegetables, since you're a rabbit, but I did get you a few meat pieces. Most poultry." He put the grocery bags inside on another and then ontop of the fridge. He looked back and leaned against the counter. "While you keep building, ask your questions you wanted."

Willow hugs the plush tightly, a goofy grin on her face as she holds it while listening to Rowan. “Thank you so much, that all sounds great.” She’s starting to feel a little loopy and warm, so she quickly decides on getting rid of her sweater. Holding it, she looks around briefly before she decides to put it on the stuffed wolf for now. Then Rowan tells her to ask her questions.

Face flushing already, she nibbles her bottom lip as her ears wiggle the tiniest bit. She focuses her attention on building the nest so Rowan can’t see her embarrassment easily. “U-um… so I’ve heard the B-Beowulfs or guests mention knotting but… I don’t know what it means…” Her hair keeps falling in her face as she talks and she pauses in her building to throw it up in a high ponytail using a scrunchie she has on her wrist.

They had to talk about what she wanted now that they had the information of the options he had given. He was sipping his tea while he waited for her to settle, having just called her out.

In the days following her heat, Willow had spent most of it trying to make it up to Rowan for all the trouble she’d caused. To no one’s surprise, she didn’t actually have anything to make up to him, but her nerves wouldn’t let her not try. She did manage to get the plush wolf clean though, having worked on it diligently until it was almost as good as new. She carried it with her to the couch to show Rowan and held it in her arms as she faces Rowan.

“I got it clean! Hopefully your sister will be okay with me borrowing it.” Willow brushes her hand along the fluffy exterior to make sure she didn’t miss anything. Now that she thinks about it, she feels like she’s forgotten to handle something important, but try as she might, she can’t remember. “What’s up?” She asks Rowan with a small tilt of her head.

Rowan smiled to her lightly as she sits and nods at the wolf. "Alright, Willow. Tomorrow, I'm packing the bakery and flying out. I've talked to my contacts and.. as much as I dislike it, they're saying you going back and helping save more will be even better in the long run than me outright buying your contract. I made a stipulation that I want to be at the auction you'll be up for, so I can purchase you and anyone else to help. They'll also be giving me a separate budge to purchase some."

He sipped his tea again. "It'll require that wolf, Grant.. to hopefully be coming by tomorrow and handing you over."

Oh, I forgot about this… Willow tries to keep her expression relaxed, still quite afraid to go back and face the Beowulfs again. She’s determined to see this through, though. She has her sisters to think about and any others that are being treated this way. With a nod, she takes a deep breath in and out. She wants to ask if she can stay with him once he’s bought her, her heart thumping with the thought, but she doesn’t want to impose. What happened during the heat was just what anyone would do - Rowan said so himself.

“How long do you think I’ll have to be there?” She asks instead, looking down at the plush in her arms. Would the clothes he bought for her go to waste? Or maybe he’ll leave those for his sister to use. She’ll be sad to see them go, though.
