[OOC] Kingdom Hearts: Heroes of Hope

So wait... what exactly is the plan and story here? Splitting up? For how long, and into how many groups? And is there a plan to come back together because staying split up for too long has a looooot of issues for a RP. Namely that, you're basically telling two or three separate stories, but each player only gets to be a part of one of them, same thing for worlds, each group goes to a different world, but each player only gets to experience one of those worlds... and it also limits the character's abilities to get to know each other outside the group they end up in. Not to mention it just being a bit chaotic because we only have one IC section, so we'd effectively have 2 or 3 RPs going on in a single thread.

So thus far we have three groups in the works.

Alias	Hoshi	Zac+Taivas

Hot take, we're best to keep this in three groupings. After DI three groups spread out to different worlds. Olympus could be the point where at everyone converges at some point, though all for different reasons relating to a tournament. By then we kinda have a sense who is going down a path towards Darkness and who's leaning toward light. Maybe they all split off along those lines with the Light side chasing the Dark side?

If anyone is cool with joining Hoshi in getting dropped into Traverse Town feel free to join me. I'm figuring to echo the game, maybe having Hoshi eventually meet up with Leon and Yuffie and probably Donald+Goofy. Do some shenanigans, beat some Heartless, move on to another world and try to find the others.

The more I figure it the more I think Hoshi will be more like Sora.

From what I would assume

(A the separation probably won't be for long, would probably just be us entering the same world with no IC knowledge on what happened to the other group.

(B by my guess it'd be two groups, one of three in the ship and one of four from the folks who get flung Destiny Island.

(C If need be for the sake of coherency, we could always make a second (or more) thread so both (or more) groups having separate ICs until we meet back up. Though, if we all end up on the same world and don't take our sweet time meeting back up, that might not even be necessary.

This is speculation and I could be wrong, and Dragonfly as the GM will do things as they please. This just seems to me like the most logical way to do things, assuming a temporary party split early is how we want to do this.

It's only for the beginning because having everyone drop into Traverse Town would be a little too hectic. But it's only after the Heartless attack and consume Destiny Islands. Most characters have been raised there so we can build relations pre-IC based on what we have so far and explore more of it in the IC on the Island.

I have Alias going to Wonderland to set things in motion for that part of the story and to spice things up a bit just so it's not note for note. I'm not sure what everyone else's plan is yet. But I figured we'd all either meet up there or at Olympus.

Also I admit it's been YEARS since I played the first game so I don't even remember everything that happened in each world.

I don't know where Zac's player wants to take him, but I'd be down for the split and then them meeting up eventually. Taivas would definitely be going down the path of darkness for a bit and maybe eventually going back to the light after he meets his friends.

Pretty sure Morgan's story is she recently just washed up on the island, was probably found by someone, and has been since just sitting on the beach staring off into the distance at nothing in particular. So she doesn't necessarily have friends or ties to anyone right now.

My original plan was to have Zac go to Traverse Town and meet up with Merlin, most likely, as I feel like he would have been able to explain things better to Zac. Or maybe have him meet up with Leon and Yuffie, who had introduced him to Merlin, if I'm remembering the first game correctly

I'm just knocking ideas around. I figure the og games had the main cast split up in pretty much every main line entry. Sora and Riku were on separate journeys in KHI. Sora, Riku, and Mickey were all on different paths in KHII that all ended up coming together in the end.

I think as long as we check in regularly enough it shouldn't cause too nuch trouble. Plus we can stretch events out a bit longer when needed while also expediting other parts that run parallel to the games (ie - Wonderland gets a bit more time givem to it, but the group only has to go through Olympus once (as opposed the 3-4 times in game.

How recent is recent? Alias and Hoshi would know of her at least with how often they're at the beach and how Alias took it upon himself to look after everyone.

Maybe not on the ship... Hoshi would get sucked through the Darkness trying to reach Alias. But they could still all end up in the same place.

I trust for the GM to separate out Levi wherever. It wouldn't be likely he ends up on the ship though, partially because he'd give up his seat for someone else, partially because a group doesn't need three tanks.

I would be okay with either of those. Merlin could probably explain better what is going on. Maybe Leon, if you want to use him. But Taivas might just manhandle Merlin for some answers lol.
