A child prodigy in the making, Vitesse grew up in the heart of Kalos racing Rhyhorns in tournaments from an early age. She often wiped the floor with the competition, and held a number of records throughout the years. Victory upon victory drew the world's eyes onto Tess, who were always eager to see her next victory or broken record. Meanwhile, her parents could only see the Poké dollars in their eyes rather than their child's own success. Hiring a professional agent without any say from Tess, their greed led to every aspect of her life managed and on a schedule.

It led to a drastic change in Tess' life. No longer did she simply enjoy her hobbies, but rather found it exhausting. She had been laden with sponsorships from well-known companies such as DENSOKU or Mach Motors, turning her into a walking billboard. News and TV stations requested her appearance, desiring an interview with the reigning champion.

Tess hated all of it. She wanted them all to shut up and leave her alone.

Unfortunately, Tess rarely got what she wanted. The Pokétopia Foundation was to hold its grand opening, having finished completion of its newfound island battle resort. Like many others, she found her name on a list of invitees sought to attend the grand opening. Tess couldn't have cared any less about it, but she knew she wasn't going to have any say in attending.

As such, Tess found herself dragged off to the S.S. Avalon by her agent to enjoy a luxury trip to the island. Who knows; maybe they'll capsize and find themselves stuck on an uncharted island. Perhaps then she'd have the peace she has always wanted.

Despite her success in life, Tess has grown into a shut-in. She has a tendency to carry a blank face, and is often accused of being "off in space" and not listening or paying attention. Of course, this simply isn't true; Tess just has grown tired of being in the public eye. She hates how everyone treats her different, and all the pestering for autographs, interviews or any other attention from organizations and people. Being famous is exhaustive work, and it has sapped the love she once had for sports.

If it wasn't for the destruction and wrought it would bring, Tess would love to tell them all "no more". But like records, anything can eventually be broken—including Tess.

August was born to two ranchers of no renown eking out a humble but respectable living in Sinnoh’s own Solaceon Town. An early childhood spent with other children racing through forests and fields, rolling around in the mud, and learning how to treat pokémon with care and respect set him up for a happy life, if not a particularly notable one. Things would change one day when on a dare, he spent a night in the Hallowed Tower south of his town.

Something changed in August that night.

What was once a well-meaning if rowdy kid became reclusive and mischievous, sometimes even cruel. At the same time, reports began to arise of a dangerous pokémon, or perhaps even a ghost itself, terrorizing the surrounding area after sundown. After weeks of misbehavior and pranks that bordered on dangerous, his parents hired a specialist all the way from Lavender Town in the Kanto region to see if there was any connection between these sightings, August’s strange behavior, and the night he spent in the Hallowed Tower.

The expert was able to materialize a connection between these things and set the trouble to rest by defeating the raging spiritomb and reuniting it with the missing wisp that had joined with August’s consciousness. After that, the confusion had finally settled, though he was changed by the experience. Chiefly, he developed an interest in art as a way to channel feelings over the event that a young child couldn’t easily verbalize, and he was good at it too. He also developed a consuming fascination with paranormal-adjacent pokémon and supernatural phenomena that would shift the course of his life.

Setting off on his own kind of pokémon journey at the age of 12, the family Rapidash acting as his guardian, August began to explore the reaches of Sinnoh for more inspiration. He developed a bit of a following online where he would log his experiences and upload the art they inspired, and this only blossomed into a linked set of careers as a famous artist and paranormal investigator. Ten years later and whether its consulting on the mystery of the unown at the Ruins of Alph, having his art displayed in galleries the world over, or nearly dying because he thought it would be funny to pose for a photo-op while wielding a honedge, August shows no sign of slowing down.

In fact, the last thing he’d done before accepting the invite sent his way by the Pokétopia Foundation was revisit the site of his first ever case, and solve it once and for all. The spiritomb, cheerfully nicknamed “Pizzaface”, now sits in begrudging comfort within a luxury ball. Only the best for the worst, after all.

Now August sets off to face something scarier even than spiritomb: being around other famous people. It’s not really something that comes up in his line of work. Who knows? Maybe some of them are also traveling alongside a shipping container full of priceless, original artwork and carry around the embodiment of their childhood trauma with them everywhere they go. That’d be nice.

Auggie never quite got back to the version of himself that existed before spending that night in the Hallowed Tower. He’s nice! It’s not that he isn’t nice. He’s just a lot of other things too. Things like overly mellow to the point of occasionally failing to exhibit what would be considered a proper amount of distress during dangerous situations. That wouldn’t be so bad if it was a calm that came about as a result of something normal, like, confidence. Auggie isn’t confident so much as he’s unconcerned, due to what could be described as an almost cosmic level of assurance that things will just sort of turn out alright or otherwise go how they’re supposed to.

However, Auggie is also empathetic and caring towards others, if a bit clumsy in his attempts at comfort. He also struggles when faced with interpersonal conflict, usually unsure of how seriously to take those kinds of things and prone to discomfort whenever he can tell when something is a big deal. Ultimately he just wants peace within himself and those around him.

As a final note: do not get between Auggie and a platter full of poffins.

Bat, alongside his twin brother Tyr, was born and raised in Hau'oli City, Alola, by their grandparents. Their childhood was a rather normal one, with the boys spending their time like any regular kids would - playing various games, watching television, schooling, and wishing they could go on epic Pokémon adventures. Their grandparents, who were a bit too old to be taking care of twins, often relied on the boys to take of them more often than the other way around. Bat was in charge of cooking and cleaning, whereas Tyr was tasked with taking care of and exercising their grandparent's Pokémon, much to Bat's chagrin.

Being caretaker to their grandparents caused the boys to grow fast. While, at first, Bat was a bit disgruntled at his being relegated to cooking for the family, there was something about it that gradually started to grow on him. He slowly found himself experimenting with each meal, much to the surprised enjoyment of his grandparents. After a time, he actually preferred cooking, and he would take any opportunity he could to rustle up a dish. His newfound hobby, however, would not overshadow his desires to become a Pokémon trainer - something that would change his and his brothers lives, for better and worse.

On the boys' 15th birthday, their grandparents presented each of them with a pokéball. The boys, elated, each went on their own little treks around their small part of the island, searching and contemplating what Pokémon they wanted to catch. Bat didn't end up taking so long to choose which Pokémon would become his first-ever partner, and within a day or two managed to catch a Rattata who he named Rawst after he found that berry to be its favorite. Tyr, however, took it upon himself to try and catch the strongest Pokémon he could find - being the much more reckless of the two brothers. It was a week or more that Tyr clung to that pokéball - every day after the next, he put himself in harm's way to prod at Pokémon and gauge whether he deemed them worthy to be his partner. One day it was a wild Ekans, the next it was an Ariados - and once it was even a Snorlax.

But Bat's brother was never satisfied, and took to recklessly searching the waters of Big Wave Beach, reasoning that only the strongest Pokémon would live around the more dangerous waves. On a particularly stormy day, Bat tried to stop his brother in his headlong schemes, but was too sickly to physically stop the other boy from endangering himself. And it was that day that something swept Tyr from the surface of the water, dragging him into the depths. A nearby beachgoer was only just swift enough to stop Bat from taking to the crashing waves after his brother and dooming himself to the same tempestuous fate.

From that day on, Bat has grown to fear the water a great deal - an ironic feature for an Alolan. It took some time for him to adjust to life after his brother, but he had to. For his grandparents. Their grief took an even greater toll on them, and he was now the only one they had to rely on. As he grew older and more capable, his desires to become a powerful trainer took the backburner to his culinary affinities. With his creativeness and natural culinary accuracy, he found himself picked up by a professional chef one day while attending classes. And this led him to great success in the world of gastronomy.

Despite his youth, he was extremely quick to pick up different techniques and cooking styles, and has grown to be seen as one of the brightest culinary minds. He has even, in his more recent years, co-hosted and co-sponsored various culinary events and venues. He has not yet been the sole proprietor of an establishment, but he has grown to be greatly respected in the world of culinary arts -- one of the best, especially for his age, many praise.

As he has grown more accomplished and capable of caring for his grandparents - namely by providing them with full-time care through his monetary success - he has, since his youth, opened up his palette for more of what he desired as a kid. Alongside being a very successful chef, Bat has also strengthened his affinity for Pokémon training. In fact, he is a respected Fighting-Type Ace - something that often surprises those who are fans of his culinary works. Not many know it, but one of Bat's goals in life is to own his own Gym that doubles as a restaurant.

But at the moment, Bat plans on truly testing himself and his battle-prowess - and what better way to do that than enjoy a visit to an up-and-coming battle resort? And even better - one that he himself sponsors!

If one had never met him or seen a class of his, and went solely off of appearance, they would be forgiven for thinking Bat unapproachable. Despite his sickly pallor and usual dark, sophisticated look, he is actually a rather light-hearted individual. While he tends to keep to himself while unprompted, this is not always true, and he is known for making nice with most everyone he interacts with - and isn't known to be a stranger to joking or teasing.

He is, in general, a pretty amicable individual, even if his sickly state tends to drive people off who meet him in person.

Kaison was born to a highly successful business magnate and his beautiful high school sweetheart. When Kaison was only two years old, his mother died giving birth to his younger brother. Consequently, his father developed depression and a drinking problem. Due to his young age, he was never familiar with his mother, and his relationship with his father has always been impersonal. His father threw himself upon his work, only to drink whenever he came home. Even so, his father was a drunkard; not neglectful, and he and his brother were generally raised by a series of babysitters and nannies. They accordingly had a lot of time to themselves, growing up, and often invented different games to play with each other. Although they had their fair share of video games from their father, they were drawn to the creative freedom of roleplaying games, and eventually branched out into making their own games. Kaison learned programming, while his brother learned digital art, and soon they had a pokémon-based video game of their own design. In trying to keep it true to life, Kaison did extensive research on pokémon, and so, when they were on vacation in Alola, and a cute little flower mantis came up to him, he took to pokémon training with surprising ease.

Although a native of Unova, his father's need to travel made it practical, at the time, to start his journey in Sinnoh. Although typical in Unova to start a pokémon journey later in one's mid-teen years, his brother, copying the native Sinnoh trainers, made him feel pressured to get started immediately, and while they both did amazingly for their first circuit, Kaison managed to defeat his brother in the Pokémon League Conference before going on to win the whole thing. Unfortunately, their father was more concerned with meeting his own deadlines, and while staying on their own was technically an option, Kaison's brother was not yet ready to leave their father, and Kaison was not yet ready to say goodbye to his brother. They barely had time to celebrate his victory in Sinnoh before they were flying back to Unova.

Trying to cheer him up, his brother suggested he take on the Unova League instead, and while he dismissed it at first, the seed of the idea had been planted. Beating the league circuit in his home region certainly held a certain allure, and he eventually decided to go on another journey, the one he felt he had missed out on by starting early, this time leaving his brother behind. While he enjoyed the company of his brother, his desire to stay in touch with their father meant he knew he would have to part ways with him sooner or later, and the journey he envisioned going on alone was a prime opportunity to get used to it.

As the years went by, and he managed to win not only the Unova League conference, but the Unova Champion Circuit, he was left feeling a bit directionless. He certainly didn't care for politics, and declined to take up the Champion position, though it didn't stop people from attaching the title to his name. Deciding to take a break, he went on vacation to Alola once more, where he had met his starter in the first place. There, now a much bigger name in the Pokémon battling scene, he was invited by professor Kukui to take up a position in the Battle Tree, and, perhaps on a whim, he accepted, taking up residency on Alola until he felt that he was ready to continue reaching for yet grander heights. He found the Alolan League and their island challenges to be a breath of fresh air, though before taking on Alola's Champion League, he wanted to go back to take on the Sinnoh Champion League he had left behind years ago. Before even that, however, he received an invitation letter for an all-expenses-paid trip to Poketopia Foundation's new battle resort, on a ship sharing a name with his Escavalier, no less. That latter fact made him feel that he had to entertain the offer, so he said his goodbyes to Kukui and the other friends he had made on Alola before setting off.

Adventurous, light-hearted, and overall nonchalant, Kaison tends to not take things too seriously, and may come off as distant or insensitive in serious situations. He has a flawless poker face in the form of an unfaltering smile and a stoic disposition that hides any troubles he may or may not have. Although he leans towards idealistic, he has a strong sense of responsibility, and does his best to give things their due diligence even if told to leave well enough alone. He loves various forms of escapism and likes to employ outside-the-box strategies in battle.

Although Sophia was born in Couriway Town and spent her childhood in Kalos, her superstardom didn't start until she was a teenager living in Johto. As part of a student exchange program she completed her schooling in Violet City, which kick-started her love of Pokémon. Well... was it love? More like obsession? Hyper fixation? Brain rot? Definitely some kind of mania, but there was love involved for sure.

Sophia joined fan clubs to connect with other self proclaimed "PokéManiacs." She worked on various job projects in between ranting about how interesting specific aspects of specific Pokémon were and making elaborate suits and cosplays based on them. Eventually she came to the realization that no one else was into Pokémon like she was, didn't understand them like she did, so she started trying to educate them. She made infographics, long threads on fan club social sites, and eventually graduated to writing blogs and making video essays. Because of her cute aesthetic and clear passion, Sophia developed a fan club of her own - and from there her following just grew and grew.

By the time she was eighteen, Sophfey (as she'd come to be known as online) was a popular internet personality. And she definitely let it get to her head. She accepted gifts from followers as well as corporate sponsorships, which allowed her to travel the world far and wide. Her video budget got ridiculous, and what she didn't use on her channels she used to procure rare Pokémon for herself.

Now an adult still based in Johto, Sophfey is as much a brand as it is Sophia herself. Her Pokémon podcast is regularly in the top five of multiple regions, and her channel "SuperSophfey" on RotomTube has a subscriber list in the tens of millions. She has a health and beauty line inspired by her first ever Pokémon, her Comfey Bibi, which she uses to keep herself looking young and makes some speculate how old she might actually be. She's become a huge influencer with several merch lines of that kind, including clothing and Pokémon items as well.

Though over the years she's strayed from her more humble origins, making a commodity of herself, a lot of her content is still focused around the Pokémon she loves.

She isn't quite a household name like league champions or renowned professors are, but one shouldn't understate her popularity with children and fellow Maniacs. Not to mention that anyone that regularly uses the internet will at least have heard the name Sophfey even if they don't watch her videos. Sophia figures it was for that reason that she was invited to Pokétopia's grand opening. She accepted of course, thinking well it's about time!

Sophia loves Pokémon. Normally that wouldn't be something worth mentioning - most people on Earth love Pokémon after all. But Sophia loves Pokémon. From the tiniest, sweetest cutiefly to the biggest, nastiest Muk, Sophia loves them all. She can't stand to see them be treated poorly, but at the same time she also sees them as something to collect. She gets competitive over certain Pokémon, always wanting to be able to claim she has something rare, and she loves to show her collection off. She adores the way they look, sound, even smell. She is, quite literally, a maniac when it comes to Pokémon.

She likes them more than people for sure. Although Sophia is friendly and talkative, she'll usually prefer to spend time with her own or other people's Pokémon when business isn't involved. She is fairly forthright with humans, as well as competitive and passive aggressive. Sometimes regular aggressive if she's in a bad mood. Most people she meets know that she comes off as childish as well, a strange blend of immature personality and mature businesswoman. The way she speaks is definitely cutesy for the sake of her following, but with a slight feeling that she's looking down on you if you don't share her mania. When she drops the cutesy act it can lead to some tonal whiplash, but she does enjoy it.

Born in Lumiose City, Kalos, André's childhood is not what one would consider normal. His mother was Michelle LeBeau, a well known socialite and actress. She was a tabloid fixture known as much for her love life, and party girl lifestyle, than she was for her acting ability. She had flings with men, women, anybody she found interesting. She probably never would not have gotten married at all had she not gotten pregnant after a fling with fellow French actor Charles Bellamy. He was a serious actor, focused more on his craft than being a celebrity. They got married because their publicists thought it would be good for both of their careers to marry. Michelle and Charles Bellamy became even bigger stars once they got married, and had their son, which they named André. They sold the rights to their baby's first photos to a tabloid for a substantial amount of money, and both of them were offered a lot more film roles than before. They became a power couple in the film industry.

Since his birth he's been in the lap of luxury. His parents are both famous actors, and since his birth he's been in the lap of luxury. Due to his parents being famous actors, and therefore often busy, André rarely ever saw them. He was also homeschooled for a while, and was rarely able to leave the house. He felt lonely being in a big empty mansion with only caretakers that were too busy to keep the kid entertained. André's parents brought him expensive toys to make it up to him. For a while the shiny new toy would make him feel less lonely, but soon he would get bored of it, and the loneliness came back. He thought something better would solve the problem. When his parents announced a new trip, the young boy cried, and of course, his parents brought him a new, better, more expensive gift once they got back. The same thing happened, it would make him feel good for a while, but soon he'd get bored again. He would continue to ask and receive more and more expensive things throughout his childhood. It was great, and André grew accustomed to wealth and having anything he wanted on a whim. It was nice, but it still wasn't enough, the bad feelings still didn't go away.

André recieved his first Pokemon from his parents. He asked his parents for a sibling so he would have someone to play with. His parents laughed, and said they would work on it. Shortly after that, his parents brought home an adorable Cleffa that he named Jolie for their son, and the subject of wanting a sibling was dropped. André bonded with this Cleffa quickly due to their similar natures. She is the only gift his parents gave him that André hasn't grown tired of. She is the closest friend André has ever had. After doing research, and learning about the Fairy type, as well as the complete lack of male Fairy type specialists, André decided he would catch more Fairy types.

At some point, his parents thought it was a good idea for him to start interacting with other kids, so they enrolled him in a private school. When André started going to school, and meeting other people his age, he got a lot of attention from them due to being the child of famous movie stars. At recess, every kid wanted to play with him. Being with others made him feel just as good, if not better, than opening up a brand new toy. It was then he thought that if new toys won't help, then maybe people will. During this time, he made a small group of friends that André was very close to. They were all different, but somehow they all get along. They all dreamed they would go on a journey together. For a while, André was happy. Then he had to move, and leave his new friends behind, and André was sad again.

At the age of thirteen, André's family moved to Virbank City, to further their careers. There, his parents encouraged their son to follow in their footsteps, and become an Actor. They put him in acting classes, and used their connections to pull a few strings, and get him and his Cleffa a starring role in a major film. He didn't want to do this at first, but did it anyway to please his parents. While making the movie, he came to enjoy being on a movie set, and acting. When his first movie went to theaters, and became a box-office success, he enjoyed all the fame and attention it brought him. Or more specifically, he liked all the adoring fans. He also enjoyed the piles of money, expensive things, and all the glamour that being a movie star brings. He decided to pursue a film career, while also attending school when he wasn't filming. After doing that for a few years, he became as famous and successful as his parents. He is often chased by Papparazzi and crazed fans, and he is also often the subject of ridiculous rumors in gossip magazines. Usually, they involve him spending absurd amounts of money on something lavish, being seen at a party, or romance rumors with various other celeberties. (Not long after hitting puberty, he discovered how attractive people were, and the joys of love. Although he's never had a serious romantic relationship, much to his disappointment.) He doesn't mind all the craziness that much. As long as he has all his adoring fans, then all is well.

André has everything now, devoted fans, a luxurious life, and piles of money at his disposal. Despite this, he still isn't satisfied. He feels like something is missing, but he isn't sure what that is. He received an invitation to attend the Pokétopia Battle Resort as a celebrity guest. Of course he was going to go. He wasn’t going to deny people the pleasure of his company. As well as the opportunity to show off his beautiful fairies.

First off, André has tastes that are usually considered femmine. His favorite color is pink, and a lot of his things are pink and have hearts on them. He likes fashion, and he has a taste for cute things, and he's not really emabrrased by it. He really doesn't understand why boys in this country have an issue with guys liking that kind of thing. He just guesses it's because they're insecure about their masculinity. André is very obsessed with beauty and looking good. As a movie star, he feels he has to maintain a certain image, and because people don't want to be friends with an ugly person. He always makes sure he is perfectly groomed before leaving the house, and as such it takes him a while to get ready in the morning. Because he puts so much effort into looking good, he hates getting dirty, as it ruins all the work he put in.

He really values his relationships. He doesn't like to be alone, so he goes to great lengths to make friends and fans everywhere he goes. He often attends parties to meet new people. For the same reason, he also likes love and romance, and as such he comes across as a flirt. He openly hits on people (he's openly bisexual, so guys as well as girls) he considers to be attractive, though he is usually more polite about it then most guys, because he is genuinely looking for a relationship. He is very touchy-feely in his flirting, and openly expresses affection through hugs, kisses, caressing, and other forms of touching. He enjoys it when people respond in the same way. He also likes pairing people up who he thinks would make a good couple, regardless of gender and orientation, and jokingly teasing the two involved.

He can be charming and manipulative when he wants to be. He uses his charm, charisma, and the occasional bribe to get what he wants from people. He knows just what to say to win people over, which sometimes helps him get his way in many situations. While he is polite and well-mannered, and typically acts friendly towards others, he treats people like objects to make himself feel better. He can be self-centered, and disregards how other people feel and what they need if it's not benefiting him somehow. It's not something he does consciously, it's just how he is. He was brought up believing that people's affections can be bought, and it's worked out for him so far.

Having become used to being given whatever he wants, André has been spoiled by wealth. He has an appreciation for the finer things in life. He wears expensive clothes, drives around in fancy cars, takes exotic vacations, and freely spends money like it grows on trees. He is very generous with his money, since he has so much of it, trading a a few dollars for something better is no problem. He's also found it much easier to woo people with money. He especially enjoys being famous, and being adored by many. He doesn't mind the the craziness that comes with being a cleberty either. Bad publicity is still publicity, as long as people are talking about you, then that's all that matters. André has always been accustomed to life on top. His worst fear is losing it all, whether that be ruining his movie career, or losing his hard earned friends.

Edward was born and raised in Rustboro city, where his parents worked in R&D at the famous Devon Co.. As a result he grew up comfortable and well educated, though with little parental supervision owing to their long work hours, indeed he probably spent more time supervised by his father's old Chimeco and mother's pet Mightyena than than with his parents. He's never really held it against them, indeed he thinks he turned out all the better for it.
When the time came for his journey his parents managed to secure him one the year's coveted Torchic brood, leveraging his good education and a favor from one of Birch's assistants. That year wandering the region with just his pokemon at his side was quite the formative experience, Edward found himself greatly enjoying his time exploring the less well trod paths, met some wonderful pokemon and even reached the semi finals, though his relatively small team and inexperience saw him go no further.
He spent the next year travelling abroad, visiting some cousins in Alola and touring the islands, he didn't actually register for their official league, just spent a lot of time wandering the wonderfully preserved wild spaces with his pokemon, picking up a few more team mates as he did. He did eventually stumble upon their battle tower while exploring the relatively untamed Poni Island, and to the surprise of both himself and some of the veteran trainers there, he did rather well, more importantly he met a holidaying Galarian businessman who particularly enjoyed his aggressive style and offered him a sponsorship for his native Galarian League, knowing how few foreigners ever make the right connections to try, Edward accepted.
His next year was in some ways a mixed bag, he'll always fondly meeting the Dreepy that would go on to become his final teammate, but the simple routes and curated wild area simply didn't have the same appeal as wandering off the beaten path, never sure what he'd find.
Of course the most important part may well be the final tournament itself, where he swept aside all competition, ousted the reigning champion and claimed both a rather sizeable prize and a fair bit of fame. He was bored within a month, abdicated the title and left the region entirely, he's still a little controversial there.
Galar had made him realise what really drew him to training, the travel, climbing a mountain to see hundreds of Minior rain from above, pushing through a sandstorm to climb an ancient tower that wasn't there the day before, or spending a week in a forest with noone but his pokemon for company.
He wanted to explore, and he had both the funds to make it happen and the pokemon to make it back. He spent a while exploring the outer edges of Hoen, pushing further into the jungles where few travelled than anyone had in years, but it was his expedition to Mirage Island, which despite persistent rumours had yet to be properly documented that really put him back in the public eye, the footage of him riding towards it on his Gyrados, was the first actual recording, and was shared widely. He mostly just wanders the wilderness without finding anything, occasionally posting about his exploits online, but every so often he'll find some cool ruins or rare pokemon that get him back in the spotlight. Not that he's neglected his training, he's never taken on another league, but is a member at a number of battle towers, stadiums and similar facilities across the globe, getting in a few matches when he passes by.
Publicity work for a resort is a bit unusual for him, but a battle resort sounds fun and he's not likely to get many other offers to ride a luxury yacht full of famous trainers.

Edward is friendly in a very casual way, he'll greet anyone with a smile, and is open to sharing stories, advice or just a campfire. On the other hand he's not one for formalities and doesn't have many true friends, he usually makes a good first impression, but often doesn't stay in one place long enough to make a second one. He's an honest man, which is fortunate because he's a terrible liar. He's a very laid back man most of the time, the exception being pokemon battles, where he focuses on speed and aggression.
He actively avoids being responsible for anyone but himself and his pokemon and is not particularly good at leasing other humans. He still helps those who need it when he bumps into them, after all his pokemon would be disappointed in him if he didn't.

Born to a highly-regarded researcher and a world-renowned Coordinator, Syl was surrounded by Pokemon since the day he was born. Despite the considerable requirements of his parents’ professions, it could never be said that he was neglected in his childhood. As an only child, his parents never failed to dote on him and encourage his every endeavour no matter how fleeting, fostering his curiosity about the world as the years passed. It was little wonder, then, that Syl ended up following in his mother’s footsteps in his own way after meeting a particular Eevee.

While originally hailing from Unova, Syl’s Pokémon journey did not officially begin until he arrived in Kanto as a research assistant to the renowned Professor Oak. Despite his somewhat odd start, his accumulated knowledge and experience allowed him to quickly build himself up to become a force to be reckoned with. After enduring various trials and clashing with his self-proclaimed rival numerous times throughout his journey, he decided to take up the challenge of the Indigo League. In the end, Syl succeeded in his endeavour, defeating his rival and eventually claiming victory in the championship after a hard-fought battle.

Following his victory, he began his journey anew in the Hoenn Region with his trusted partner at his side. Though his first attempt to challenge the Ever Grande Conference nearly ended with his loss against its Elite Four, Syl managed to emerge victorious after a fierce, uphill battle. Deciding to take a slow down from championships after travelling to Kalos, Syl joined Professor Sycamore in researching Mega Evolution and obtained a Keystone of his own, using his newfound breakthrough to challenge the Kalos Region champion. Though the battle ultimately ended in a draw, that did little to discourage the people from seeing him as a champion, in ability if not in name, until his eventual rematch and victory. Despite his win, Syl chose not to officially take on the title of champion, leaving the responsibility to Diantha. Then, while deep into research, Syl received a surprise invitation to attend the Pokétopian Foundation’s battle resort grand opening. And so, he set off on a brand new journey, one unlike any other.

Sarcastic and quick-witted with a sharp tongue and no filter, Syl can be either irritating or endearing in equal measure depending on his mood. Despite, or perhaps because of, his often spontaneous and constantly multi-tasking nature, he always manages to keep a cool head, no matter the situation. Adventurous and curious beyond measure, he loathes being tied down, viewing the world through an inquiring lens and rarely taking things at face value. A tactical trainer with a penchant for elaborate plays, Syl enjoys the rush of battle just as much as he does the act of interacting with Pokémon itself.

All in all, he is a rather energetic and thoughtful person, if a bit insensitive about boundaries, whether through choice or by nature.
