A lot of what people don't really get about Genjutsu is that unless they are general, then you don't really get a whole lot out of them. If you make them specific, often for flavor purposes, then you actually have that adaptability that is intrinsic with most other technique forms.

You need to consider a lot of Genjutsu can be easily grouped together under one umbrella (a singular technique). Tuuj has just largely opted to separate them.

I'm not trying to press this, but it is not realistic for a Genin to not a Sensei. No one said anything about training in enemy territory. Just having a team, with teammates, and an assigned teacher. Most of the Sensei are either undercover or not with the students at the moment anyway, Its more about establishing the setting, creating the organization for the rp, and create village groups. The mission now is hardly the whole rp. Should plan ahead a little. Also think of it as compared to the canon set up. Genin have teams and an instructor. Even if they are separated or on separate missions, the mechanic remains. You're missing the bigger picture just focusing on a task your character just received and by thinking Sensei are only in rp for training. Though, again, being realistic, should there ever be a timeskip, how will a Genin improve without a team or teacher?Though, again, not pressing this. You don't have to do anything. But its kind of a waste to let the opportunity pass by when you have the opiton. Of having a built team. A lot of potential there and it is more realistic, honestly, to have that team. It just isn't realistic to train in enemy territory, but assuming that is what was implied by having an instructor is a gross misunderstanding.Oh and the Roster is for three reasons:I'd rather not continuously email him every time it is updated…He has not asked for it and I have no problem updating myself...And, I was just gonna ask Dystopia to edit it in her post on the first page of the In Character, so I already had a plan,Though I just updated it today and she sleeps forever on the weekends.

Okay I understand the reason for teams but it sounded like they wanted me to train now while the mission was still going, and Maiko has a sensei, he's a NPC because at the time I did my first post no one else was in the Rain Village. So after the mission I will join a team.

I feel it doesn't really show any verstality To try and create a technique for every situation. Nor is there any point in having more than 30 techniques in a casual level rp. I mean, who are you gonna fight? I think most players would rather a casual match rather than an overly technical one. If you can't use a little sleuth to execute a technique then you should work on the character, not make 5 support techniques and 3 backup techniques.

30 plus techniques is not necessary. This character isn't even a Kage.

I think you missed the point I was making.

Lets even just look at a basic Fireball technique of a decent size. Not only does that provide cover in that you can obscure yourself (or objects) behind it allowing for certain amount of in combat adaptability, you can use it to create damage to weak points on structures, or to start a forest on fire in combat to give yourself an advantage.

An illusion is just that - an illusion. You can't use your Genjutsu to destroy something to give yourself an advantage, you can't really do much other than alter the perceptions of your opponent; which is something that can be largely grouped together under a singular technique solely by being vague about it. I used to have more techniques on my characters such as Touzoku and Chiyoko mostly because I went specific with my medical techniques. However, I found that to be tedious after awhile as it is easy to overlook something. Thus I created Souken to fill that gap, as I could adapt it to suit a number of my needs.

Genjutsu lack a certain adaptability in combat unless they are vague - specificity only breaks something that could easily be one technique into a bunch of smaller ones, which is largely a flavor aspect of things.

I am simply prepared for eventualities that most people are not.

Most of my genjutsu have applications outside of combat, for example, and Ra as a character is much less about fighting than she is about manipulating people to either fight for her, or making them move in such ways that her goals are accomplished without the need to actually participate in combat. The amount of Genjutsu is simply for flavour and for practicality - I may not use most of them, but they give me the freedom to act in ways that I could not if I didn't have them. :D

~

@Yog: And yes, I am, provided they do not provide a rational explanation as to why they were stupid enough to actually accept. Of course, if I execute the person who authorised the mission and he takes full responsibility, they will be abdicated of their responsibility.

Its not my decision, nor am I in any position to say how characters should be made; it's just my opinion.

Perhaps not, Durn, but it's not like we can't have a constructive conversation about it regardless. We can both learn things from looking at it with a different perspective.

Maiko would fight your character, and she would be over stepping her authority, several of our characters are not from her village and their nations would call for vengeance and start a war against her village. Are you sure you want that

Lol Eki, you trying to hop into another Naruto debate?

Also, I think the Tsuchikage would only punish the Iwa ninja, Yog. As they picked up the S-Class mission behind the Kage's back.
