At mention of this, he sat up and vainly tried to resist blushing. "Wh-what? I got the hardest fucking head around... Im no romantic!"

He huffed and leaned back against his bed, but then thought again and looked over to her with interested curiosity "Unless... unless its working by any chance."

This was really strange for Kyron. After using all of his anger before, he had none left, he didnt know what to do with himself! Granted he will probably go back to his own cynical self soon... but at least he could enjoy not being bitter while it lasted. What was wrong with that?

"Hmm..." Caroline said, pretending to consider. "It might be." She smiled and put the iron rose to her hair, using magnetism to fix it in place. "How does it look?"

Kyron comically inspected the rose before giving a jokingly sarcastic answer, "Looks like you have an iron rose in your hair" but he quickly changed his answer with a laugh and said "It looks nice on you"

Before he could say anything else, his stomach growled loudly and he patted it. "Well, it seems getting beaten up works up an appetite, wanna go grab some food over at the cafeteria?" he asked her with his small smile.

Caroline smiled and stood up, brushing her pants off. "Well what are we waiting for?" She said "Let's get some food." She held her hand out for him.

Kyron couldnt remember the last time he smiled this much. The last time was probably when he was with his brothers after winning a big match against some thugs in the underground fighting leagues. He took her hand gently in his own, his large hand easily encompassing her own as they made their way out to the cafeteria. wonder whatll happen when Alex finds out? 'hey man I know we just duked it out in the training area, mind if I date your sister?' yeah I dont feel that'd go over well... maybe I should talk to him to see where we stand at the moment. He is already willing to help me... maybe i should take him up on the offer...

Looking back at Caroline, he couldnt help but smile. She just made a shitty day better, who wouldve thought just letting someone talk to him would end up so well? It was the first time he had really genuinely spoken to someone... it was scary, but at the same time, nice. "I never asked where you were from" he said as they walked together.

She leaned over to stare at it, she could do that! She doesn't know how she did it exactly but it scared her the first time she did it and she practically ruined a whole classroom. She wanted to touch it, but watching the things around being destroyed told her that wasn't a good idea. "Wait, how do you do that? I mean- I can't conduct fire and water, I don't think. Well, actually.." She paused. "I mean there are things like it out there but not from here.." She tilted her head. "Does that make sense." She looked over her shoulder and leaned in cupping her hand so only he could see. She took a deep breath and made a tight fist with her palm upwards. She bit her lip and focused at her palm, yellow and red light glowed between the crevices of her fingers and she slowly opened her hand. It was a sun, a glowing star that could easily destroy any universe. Before it could grow any larger than size of a golf ball she closed her palm fast and took a deep breath before sitting back in her seat hard. She smiled and laughed a bit. "Crazy huh." She smiled at him until her eyes focused somewhere else and her smile faded. "That's what makes me a monster." Her eyes flickered to his and she sat silently for a moment before blinking herself back. "Oh! I mean, it makes me different." She was not going to make herself stand out of beg for pitty.

Caroline faltered for a moment, and for a second a darkness like Alex's flashed over her eyes. Almost as soon as it came it was gone though, and Caroline smiled again. "I'm from Nexus Elpis. My parents died in the war, so I came here instead." It's not quite a lie. she told herself. They stopped being parents when the war started. "What about you?" She asked, bringing herself closer and wrapping her arm around his.

Kyron thought he had noticed her falter, but she was back to smiling so quickly he just thought it was nothing. He couldnt help but feel the heat of a blush on his cheeks as she wrapped her arm around his so she could be closer. When she asked about where he was from, he said "The Nexus Phorros Colony, just on the outskirts of the civilization. Where I lived, people were pretty crummy even before the war, a little gang issues but they were a joke honestly. My dad owns about ten acres where he raised my brothers and I. Townspeople werent very fond of me so when the order came to round up defects, they wasted no time in pointing their fingers at me."

He smirked at the thought of that. One of the reasons for his anger... he held a lot of resentment for those people still, all because they were scared of him... well, it wasnt like they didnt have fair reason to. He shook away the old feelings and smiled down at her before opening the door to the cafeteria. His stomach growled again as he smelled the food, and said "Hmm, what sounds good today?"

"Simple chemistry. But I've managed to evolve it to something cosmic like you said." He answered Nyx's question before listening to what she was talking about next. "I sort of understand... There's something beyond this atmosphere. Something vast and incomprehensible." He finished his plate of brownies and ice cream.

When he saw something glowed, Keele looked. A star was in the cup of her hands and it quickly closed. "Crazy huh." Nyx smiled and laughed and Keele seated himself back against the rest and laughed with her. "That's what makes me a monster..." Keele absorbed that statement for a moment, before his face loosened a little from his happiness. It seemed like it bothered him a little. "Oh! I mean, it makes me different." He leaned forward, looking towards the crumbs on the plate.

"We have our own monsters. It's our job to tame it. I don't want to become a monster. This war... Maybe I just want it to end." He crossed his arm. "Anyway, are you going to finish your brownies?"

Caroline looked at the menu and hummed. "I don't know." She said finally, "Why don't you pick for me?" She let go of his arm and leaned against a nearby table, watching him carefully.

She smiled up at him, her shoulders relaxed a bit. She already knew he wouldn't judge her whether she had told him that or not, but she still felt uneasy on how nonchalant people find it to be, if they only understood how destructive she could be and how easily triggered she was. She hid that all behind her twinkling eyes as she looked back down towards the plate of brownies and quickly scooped one up and took a bit gite. She giggled and smiled. "Mhmm." After she swallowed she looked around. "Do you want to go outside?" She asked quietly, looking back in his direction.

"Hmmm..." hummed Kyron slowly as he looked about the menu, wondering what he could get for them that she would like. He didnt know her tastes, so he took this as a challenge to see how good his own were. He decided to play it safe for now, "Well the deli wraps are pretty damn good around here, how about we get a grilled chicken wrap, with a side of fries, I'll get a water and you can choose what drink you want... and some brownies for after?" he said to her wondering if she liked how that order sounded.

"If that doesn't break the rules, I'll go with you." He whispered back. "Actually, I don't really care. You lead, or I lead?" Should he take her hand? "Ah. Who cares, let's go. This is gonna be fun~" He took he hand and lead her out from the cafeteria, towards the corridors and the ground floor. "Let's see, where do we go from here?"

"Sounds good." Caroline pushed herself off the wall and back next to him. "Why don't we find somewhere to sit?" As she grabbed the tray and headed back into the main room.

Kyron nodded and followed alongside Caroline, and as they walked, he caught site of Nyx with the other boy whom he had not yet met. A wave of guilt came across him as he looked over at Nyx, their last meeting was rather... bad to say the least. "I fell like I already owe a ton of apologies and its only my first day back" he said so that Caroline could hear as they sat at one of the free tables. After handing out one another's meals, he bit into his wrap, tasty as always, before looking back at her. "Now that I have had time to really think about things... I was a huge asshole... damn, is this what guilt feels like? It sucks"

As Caroline ate, she watched Kyron. She didn't know why, but she felt at ease around him. Maybe she was just trying to make up for the way her brother acted. "Well, you can always make amends. The best way to deal with guilt is to remove the reason for it."

Kyron listened to what she said about removing the reason for guilt, and he slowly nodded as he chewed. The one thing that really got to him about her was the fact that she was the first here to just speak with him. She didnt try to analyze him or tell him what he needed to do. And that made him respect her more than anything. He felt a lot more easy around her, and he felt it easier to just relax with her than anybody else. "Yeah, I do need to make some friends." he said in agreement with her. then smiled and looked at her saying "Well, ive been lucky enough to meet you"

She didn't know how to react to him grabbing her hand, maybe it was just to help her up in which she pulled away once they were out in the hall way but made sure to do it without being too obvious. "It's this way." She pointed down the hall way and quickly began to job to the open boiler room where the door had been kicked out. "I think they know we sneak out, as long as we don't do anything stupid I think they are okay with it." She said as she crawled up the ladder and out to the roof, the sun was in the middle of setting leaving the moon visible. "This is my favorite, when night starts." She spread her arms out and enjoyed it's power.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were hitting on me." Caroline said with a grin. "So, what do you think of this place? Honestly it's not that much different than back home for me, just with more space." She leaned her chin on one hand while she ate her fries, keeping her eyes on him.
