[IC] Fractions: A New Age

He didn't really know where to go without going through the main entrance, so he was a little stuck. He looked around clueless about the school he was so familiar with. "It's this way." Finally, a turn for Nyx to lead and for Keele to follow. There was a corridor with a seemingly broken door that leads to the school's boiler room. The place was filled with many pipes and tanks and it fascinates Keele as they walked below them. "I think they know we sneak out, as long as we don't do anything stupid I think they are okay with it." The two crawled and climbed up a ladder that lead to the roof, where the sky was crossing between night and day. Where the sun was on the exact opposite of te moon and the first of the stars were to appear. "This is my favourite, when night starts." She spreaded her arms and while Keele just lifted his head with his eyes closed enjoying the breeze.

His hands were in his pockets. "And I enjoy the night wind." He opened his eyes and gazed into sky. "I can't believe I miss my old home... The war's taking a lot on us. I miss my mother and father... " He sat down on the roof. "The look was the same from my home. On the roof with the open sky. Maybe I'll just stick here for sometime." He looked towards Nyx. "Do you miss home? With the war taking its toll?"

Kyron chuckled at her saying he was hitting on her... it wasnt far from the truth honestly, he just hoped he wasnt a sorry excuse for a flirt. "Eh, the place really isnt that bad honestly. Food is fine and we all get our own bed. But sometimes I think Z is hiding something. First he starts this whole 'I own you' routine then acts like hes the coming savior of the defects? I mean, come on. You will like your teachers though, especially Erebus. He is the Phorros combat instructor, huge guy, but he is really cool. I havent gotten to see much of the other teachers, mainly because I got kicked out and thrown in solitary for a month or two. But now that I am back, guess i finally get to meet the Viper teacher. Heard she can get scary." he said with a dry chuckle. He looked over at her and nearly blushed again, the way she held her head in her hand while she ate... it made her look downright adorable. "So, you ready for the classes?"

Nyx stomach twisted and her chest tightened. A home? A family? She didn't have anything like that, she didn't even know where she had come from or who had made her. She just woke up one day, in her simplest form and by instinct she traveled wherever she could go. It wasn't until she found earth did she even learn about families, and what a home is. She took a deep breath. "The only person I've known my whole life is Alex, he's the only family I have which is why I returned, so I guess this is my home, or he is my home." She looked at him with saddened eyes, not that she didn't love Alex and regrets anything, but she wondered if she ever had a mother or a father, and if they wondered where she was. But each time she thought about it her heart broke, but she avoided eye contact.

"Hmm" He muttered as he laid down. "That's one home that you've returned to then. I'm not sure if I could cope with a person as mystical as Alex." He had a small smile over it. Somebody like him, seemingly harsh and tough. He wonders what would happen in a family of Nyx and Alex. "This place is really nice. I could use this hide out often if you don't mind." He looks out to the sky again, seeing more stars appear onto its canvas colouring the coming night. "Say Nyx... Why not tell me more about yourself? I've been wondering. I know you like brownies so far, but there's got to be more to you than just brownies-- Although don't get me wrong, they're great." He chuckled. "I suppose I should say something about myself first. Let's see... I've trained in sword art for ten years!" He told her, hoping that she would play along.

Caroline finished her drink and put it down, resting her head on both hands while she waited for him to finish. "What do you want to do now? I don't think there's going to be any real classes yet." She took the drink straw in her mouth and lifted it out of the cup, playing with it in boredom. "Honestly there isn't all that much here. I wish we could go out somewhere."

She sat at the edge and pulled her knees to her chest. "He's been all I've ever known, he is mystical but his whole life has been lived because of me.. He took care of me from the very beginning. He's protected me but also has let me learn from my mistakes." She placed her chin on her knees until he asked to learn more about her. She bit her lip and turned to him. "Well.. the problem is. When I enter another vortex I usually only remember glimpses of the old place, and I never interacted with other planets. I just wandered." She looked up. "But it's not just wandering, you learn. You learn about what it means to be a soul, what a soul can circumference to, but when I land on earth it's as if people have forgotten how strong a soul is and when you neglect it, that's what creates darkness." She had to think hard about herself, which made her wish Alex was there to name everything she was, he knew her better than herself. "I love music, I love to sing." She stopped and thought harder. "I got really good at throwing knives but it's not very lady like." She laughed. "I don't really have a life to tell." She frowned.

Kyron thought a moment about what they could do. Obviously there was not much going on within the facility... but...

A smile came across his face, one of mystery and mischief. "Well, there are two things we can do." he said, motioning her to lean forward. "I Know of a way that leads to the outside of the building, but if you want to try something else, there is actually a small cave system under the facility that used to be used for phorros training. It got sectioned off after students got themselves lost inside there, but I know that place like the back of my hand, and there are tons of cool things to see down there if you know where to look, what do you day?"

Caroline perked up after hearing about the caves. "I always wanted to go cave exploring. How big are they?"

"Good size, if I remember correctly they go out for a few miles. But any exits that might have existed then were sealed off. But still the caves themselves are awesome." Kyron responded to Caroline's question. Finishing the last of his drink, he stood up and held out his hand for her to take. "Besides, there is a place in there that i think youll love, so come on!"

Caroline took his hand and stood up, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek as she did. "Just because nobody is around. You're pretty cute, you know that?"

He could feel it, the can of worms opening as he asked for her life story. It was like a philosophy as her mouth opened. A set of sentences created to make one self feel in a certain way. When it came to the value of a soul, he knew well about what she meant. The world gave up upon hope and wanted chaos to occur. When she began to talk about knives... it weirded him a little, but his hobby was swinging long knifes, so he wasn't any better too. "Who cares if its ladylike or not. If you like it, then you like it." He smiled again. "Singing. Hmm, I don't have a talent for singing. Lucky you." He closed his eyes as he laid, slowly falling asleep as he looked into the night.

She didn't bother making anymore comments about it, the more she thought about him the more she wanted to run and cry in his arms for hours and ask the same questions she did as a child. 'Where did she come from?' 'Did she have a mother and father?' 'Is life even fair?' She got up abruptly as tears formed on her face. "Sorry, I am getting cold. See you later." She could feel herself calling for Alex in her head as she quickly climbed off the roof, wiping her eyes at the bottom and began to wander the halls, but being alone with her own thoughts usually wasn't a great idea.

Alex was standing just outside the door to the outside, waiting for her. "Are you alright Nyx?" He asked, folding her into his arms.

He caught her just in time to save her from another mental breakdown, she was so tired of feeling like this. Feeling so sorry for herself, to be reminded of the life she didn't have and all the things people cherished that she wasn't even good enough to receive. "I'm fi-" A sob caught her and she pressed her face in to his chest. "I would have been a great daughter." She sobbed again placing her hands over her face while pressing in to him. "I deserve a family too right?" She whined and complained in to his chest, venting all of her feelings on to his shirt.

Alex held her close, petting her hair. "You have a family. I'm here, and now Caroline is too. You might not have had a chance to be a daughter, but you can be a big sister, and maybe someday a mother." He kissed the top of her head. "Alright?"

A mother? That only made her want to cry more, she would love to be a mother but it frightened her. How was she to be one if she had no clue what it was like to have one. She pushed her head back in to his chest and sniffled. "How do you always know what to say?" She looked up at him with her chin on his chest, she admired him so deeply. Everything about him made her weak in the knees. "Kiss me?" She sang up to him, her puppy dog eyes made her look childish but her lips quivered anxiously. They had pecked and had one long kiss, but she wanted something more intimate, make her feel more of a woman than a teenage girl. Maybe she was just being vulnerable and demanding.

Alex leaned down and pulled her into a long, passionate kiss. He pressed her closer to his body, forgetting where he was as he started losing track of time. Every second seemed to draw out into an eternity, and the only thing in the world was the two of them. his lips were almost hungry as they held hers, and he could feel her heart beating against his chest. He didn't know how long they held each other there, but when they finally broke he was out of breath. "You are the most wonderful, beautiful and kind woman I have ever known, and I want to be with you until the day I die."

Her breath was almost taken immediately as she clenched her fists to his chest and balanced herself on to her toes to kiss him harder. Everything she ever knew was with him, she had her heart in shackles and her soul in chains. She was bound to him forever, and had no problem to play that part in his life. Her body became weak as the kiss broke, she took a deep breath in while staring at the now swelled lips on Alex's face. Her eyes locked with his as he spoke, now being unable to breathe all she could do was look at him, she reached her arms and wrapped them around his shoulders as much as she could on her tippy toes. "I love you, Alexander. I will love you till it is my time to fall and then I will love you forever on after that."

Alex bent down slightly to pick her up, and with her hanging with her arms around his neck he kissed her again, shorter but no less passionate. "It's getting late today, why don't we go back to our room?"

She smiled after the kiss and nodded. "I could really get used to you always carrying me to bed." She teased before wrapping her legs around and resting her head on her shoulder like a child would do.
