It has been 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named "The Ark", where about 2,400 people live. Resources are scarce and all crimes no matter their nature or severity are punishable by death ("floating" or in this case, being thrown into the vacuum of space.) unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age, if the criminal is under the age of 18 they are placed in a isolation unit that resembles a prison. After the Ark's life support systems are found to be critically failing, one hundred juvenile prisoners are declared "expendable" and sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again.
You are among those 100.
You have all done some form of crime, and luckily for you, you have been placed in prison instead of dying in the vacuum of space. Consider this a gift. You and your other 99 convicts will be the first to step foot onto earth after the nuclear war. Don't disappoint us.
Rules:
1. Death will occur in this roleplay.
2. No God-modding, which is a simple rule of course.
3. The spaces are unlimited, that is until I find the RP a little too crowded. So currently you may only have one-two character(s) per person.
4. You may not go into a 1x1 in the IC. And by that, I mean that you must wait for your peers to post their intros.
5. You all start off in the prison, getting transported to the shuttle that will crash land onto earth.
6. My Co-GM is Dahlia Hawthorne.
7. If you have read the rules please put "Hella Cool" On your CS

Name: Claudette Anderson
Age: 18
Personality: Don't let her gentle look fool you. Though she can be polite and lady-like, Claudette is haughty, narcissist and selfish. She sees herself and her peers at a higher level than everyone else (even if that may not be the case) and does not tolerate anyone. She also has a bad habit of acting like a know-it-all despite the fact she is quite an ignorant person since she is still relatively young.
As a woman of a serious nature, its often hard for her to slow down and and enjoy things. She is often so caught up in her own mindset that she forgets to include the feelings of others. Claudette pays attention to the big picture - which means she sometimes tends to take things for granted. She has a strong sense of loyalty and duty, often casting aside unnecessary debility in order to achieve the larger goal. She can be over-analytic, yet small social graces fly right past her head. For the most part, shes pretty blunt as well.
Criminal Offense: Theft of Medicinal items and distribution of such items.
History: Claudette was the child of one of The Ark's many doctors. As a young girl she would often watch and sit as her father helped treat cuts and bruises. She was well rounded in the facility but she knew better than to snoop around. During her preteen years, her peers would often ask for medicine not for medicinal purposes of course, but to use as drugs. Since Claudette was young and naive, she supplied her peers with the medicine she stole from her father's medicinal cabinet in the hospital facility. Her drug deals went on for quite some time until her father began to notice the depletion of medicine in his cabinet. When he confronted her, Claudette denied continuously, which was stupid since she was always in his facility and she was his only child. Her father had no choice but to hand her over, since she would not listen to reason(And because her father did not want to lose his job as a doctor, he earned more rations than others did for 'keeping up the good work'.)
Relationships: No one is acquainted with her at the moment
Accepted characters
Karisma
Age: 18
Personality: Aeliana is a blunt, intentionally cruel girl. She does not know what it means to have manners or how to implement the traits of a good Samaritan. Because of her abrasive approach to everything, people tend to stay away from her. Nonetheless, she does have a few good virtues that are worth noting. She's extremely resilient and is quick to react to a situation that could potentially pose a danger to her. Well, it's safer to say that she's quick to gamble her life in dangerous situations. Basically, Aeliana is a self-aware, self-confident, good-for-nothing slacker.
Criminal Offense: Aeliana was the main perpetrator behind a massive, organized gambling operation. She had it running for a year or so until the authorities caught on. She could've stopped it in time, but she decided to gamble on whether she would get caught or not. Unfortunately, she lost that gamble along with everything else she had and got sent to the isolation unit at the age of 17. She's been a prisoner for a year now.
History: Aeliana was making it rain. She had more money than she could have imagined because of her underground business. However, she barely held on to that money; she would gamble it away in a matter of seconds. That was her life-- counting dough and wasting it on unnecessary products. The only reason Aeliana was able to act any way she pleased was mainly due to the fact that her parents cared little for her. While growing up, she was only a part of the background at home. So in order to compensate for this, she made it her goal to become part of the main spotlight outside of her house. And, obviously, making money while achieving her innermost dream was like mashing two potatoes with one fork.
Relationships: She tends to lose whatever feeble relationships she builds with others because of her 'all or nothing' personality.
Other:
Dahlia Hawthorne
Age: 18
Personality: Adela is very cool, despite her being isolated for over a year. She likes to tease and make fun of others, and takes almost nothing serious.
Criminal Offense: Providing alcohol to minors/being a minor and possessing alcohol as a minor.
History: Adela grew up with carefree parents on the space station, where her mother was very strict and her father was sent floating for beating her mother. Her strict lifestyle raised her to be frustrated with doing even simple work. Her mother was one of the chefs on board, and brought her to the kitchens to teach her the culinary art. Suffice to say, her "friends" told her to get alcohol from the kitchens so they could get drunk at a party. A change from strict rules definitely seemed appealing, and so she stole it. Eventually, she began providing alcohol to minors as a business, her nickname being "Alcohol Adela" this nickname of course led to her capture, and being 17 at the time, she was isolation unit.
Relationships: Most people of the people on the Ark know about her "service".
Other:
Litepow
Age: 18
Personality: Jon is the embodiment of a rebellious spirit: He is very hotheaded and can't seem to keep his mouth shut, unless someone is forced to do so for him. He has absolutely no respect to those who try to impose their will upon others, and tries desperately to rally the people for his causes. He is very stubborn and it's not terribly hard to get him riled and put him in a temper, hence maybe why he is so quick to be outspoken. Despite his knack for fighting the law, Jon is definitely by no means a physically strong person and can be taken down a notch easily. Despite this, he has a never-give-up attitude in the face of adversity. Jon is a very caring individual, but his headstrong and bossy attitudes can make him someone people will have a hard time warming up to. He absolutely *hates* being told he is wrong.
Criminal Offense: Disturbing the peace (trying to start a rally against guards who "treated the lower-class unfairly"), resisting arrest.
History: Jon was born into a very low-class environment. The people in his sector of the commons were poorly fed - which was partially due to the guards withholding much of the rations - and were treated as the scum of the station. His father, Patrick, was arrested when Jon was 16 for stealing food from the guard's barracks. Already showing signs that he was impulsive, the guards kept a close eye on Jon as he reached adulthood. After being let off the hook once after spitting on a guard, Jon was incarcerated after staging a failed rally with his friends, who promptly fled the scene when the guards arrived.
Relationships: Not many, he either views people as too cowardly for speaking up, or his impulsive ways make it hard to maintain friendships.
Other:
Kautalya
Age: 17
Personality: Juet Jackson, also known as JayJay was the druggie in her group. Juet is a laid back girl. She's calm and intellectual but after she gets wasted, She takes a 180* turn and she becomes more wild. JayJay wouldn't care about other's feelings, health, or being and would start as many problems as she possibly could before her euphoria died down. She'd go on rampages, start spouting out all the 'yo momma' jokes she knew, and randomly kick people in the shin.
Criminal Offense: Got caught with the possession of drugs.
History: "Hi! Yes! Is this mic on?"
Ignore her. Juet doesn't have much but a normal life to begin with. Her mother worked hard, as well as her father. Getting older, she started getting into drugs. At first it was her best friend introducing it to her. Telling her it's like candy. Of course, she regretted it but enjoyed it more than anything. Her parents didn't know anything about her little secret. Until one day, her best friend brought more friends in JayJay’s house, bringing in the "candy." Yes, JayJay didn't mind. After all they did have fun. When the party ended her best friend left a sack of drug on the seat without Juet noticing.
Juet, carried on as if nothing happened. She didn't notice the sack or anything. Her mother was truly terrified when she saw it from the corner of her eye. She screamed her head off, calling Juet's name. Her mother screamed at her, telling her this isn't right and that she needs to get over it. Juet kept quiet, a bit pissed off at her friends. She had a feeling that her best friend did it. Juet then told her mother, calmly that it was her best friend who left it here. Her mother quickly called her best friend's phone, alarming her mother and telling her to come over. Juet gulped as she watched them enter the house. They didn't live that far so it was quick. Juet's mother yelled and yelled. That's when her best friend spoke. Loud and clear too. "Juet was the one who forced me to do it. I swear Mrs. Jackson. She forced all of my friends to do it. I argued with her telling I didn't want to but she slapped me, yelling at me to do it." Juet's eyes widen. Her mother screamed at Juet, crying her eyes out. From the corner of Juet's eye, she could see her friend smiling at her.
Relationships: Nobody at the moment.
Other: Juet is addicted to drugs!
Polar
Age: 18
Personality: Mira was like any other girl growing up: playing with dolls, baking cakes, laughing with her friends. She even had herself a few boyfriends. There was no sign of abnormality in her. After a certain incident, she became antisocial, always retreating into her mind. She would talk to herself, laugh out loud randomly and scratch at her skin. Sometimes, Mira would stare at people for long periods of time, not breaking eye contact even once. She was later diagnosed with schizophrenia and was admitted into a mental hospital (hopefully there are a few in The Ark?) and spent a few years there. As a result of many days and months of counseling and treatment, Mira is now able to suppress her violent tendencies (which didn't happen that often anyway) and has learned to manage it. However, she has become introverted, anxious, nervous, and depressed. She still has the habit of scratching her skin (particularly the wrist area), as well as biting her nails when she is nervous. If she had to choose between a leader and a follower, she’d definitely be a follower. She relies on other people to make her decisions, and once she chooses someone to follow, she’s not letting go.
Criminal Offense: Murder
History: Mira grew up with her uncle. Her mother had her after a one-night stand, not knowing who the father was. He was gone in the morning and was never to be seen again. Her mother decided to keep her. Once she gave birth, she spent a lot of time caring for Mira with the help of her brother. At around age five, a man appeared into her mother's life. They often went out and left Mira to her uncle's supervision. In a few months, her mother had completely abandoned her, chasing after the man. Her uncle fulfilled his duty and became her new father.
As time passed by, Mira grew up to be a lovely young girl who had a very promising future. But there was one day that ended that.
Thirteen year old Mira had gone up to a friend she was playing with in her room. She asked her, "Do you like me?" At which the girl replied with a smile and a nod. Mira shook her head, eyes slowly widening. "You don't like me." The girl looked at her in confusion. "They said you don't like me! They said no one likes me!" And with that, she grabbed a pen sitting on a nearby table and lunged at her friend. She repeated the words "You don't like me, you don't like me," as she stabbed her several times in the neck.
No one was home; her uncle was at work. Her friend bled to death a few hours later. Her uncle came home to Mira curled up in a ball beside her friend, muttering "I didn't do it." Out of fear, her uncle immediately called the police and reported the scene. He was told that they would investigate it further.
After a few days of Mira mumbling incoherently and refusing to leave her room, he forcibly took her to the doctor to figure out what was going on. She was later admitted into a psychiatric hospital. She spent three years there before showing signs of improvement. A few weeks following her release, the police took her away and was sent to prison. They had decided to take her in when she was "normal" again. Two years later and here we are.
Relationships: None at the moment, and maybe none at all.
Other: She was provided a supply of medication to bring with her to Earth, though there wasn't much. After she runs out, who knows what might happen.
Axela
Age: 16
Personality: Very protective of her family and her friends. She is willing to do anything for those she loves. She doesn't take no for an answer, and she never backs down. She tries keep a smile on her face and stay optimistic until there's no one else around to see. There's no one she loves more than her little brother. She would do anything for him. She is about as sweet and kind as they come, and for as long as her brother has been alive, she's had to be a mother to him.
Criminal Offense: Murder
History: Her brother was caught stealing from one of the other people on the ship. In order to conceal of his crime, she acted on impulse and murdered the witness, in order to keep her young brother from harm, not thinking of the long term problems. She now is struggling to live with the guilt of the murder.
Relationships: Soren Thomas. She'll do anything to protect herself. She's used to having to take care of herself, and doesn't really want/need anyone else.
Other:
Solace
Age: 17
Personality: Cleon could be a prime example of the ancient derogatory statement, cheeky cunt, from the previous century. Though withdrawn and introverted, he is a facetious and flippant egotistical agitator with, more or less, a loathsome attitude. He is very critical in the morals of people, being quick to judge and incidentally, being adamant in his beliefs. He despises those of whom he thinks 'emulate his' mannerisms and actions, looking down at those 'imitators' as 'frauds who should have been swallowed at birth.'
Cleon has a habit of placing the blame upon others for anything miserable or unsatisfactory that happens to him. His overall hostile and volatile nature has subtracted peers and social skills from his life, and within that, harbors an inability to maintain simple qualities such as maintaining conversations for long or even making eye contact when speaking. He lives on with the fixed mindset that the only person he can rely on is himself. The only people who knew none of his negativity and saw his 'good' side were his foster family.
Criminal Offense: Aggravated Assault / Battery, Theft, and Attempted Forgery.
History: Because of a family history plump with criminal offenses, Cleon was born directly into an orphan's life and possessed no knowledge of his actual parents. He was taken into custody by a well-to-do family in one of the lower-class sectors of The Ark, where famine and disease was especially rampant. These distraught living conditions took the life of his adoptive father, and kept his foster mother bedridden with illness, forcing Cleon to tackle the duties of supporting the family with his older sibling at an early age.
As his foster mother's health continued to decline and only served to grow worse over the decade, Cleon sought to somehow transfer his family to one of the sectors that were better off than theirs. When his request was declined, he grew discontent with the situation and decided to take it upon himself to do whatever he could to save his family. He attacked the security officer and stole a document containing the officer's signature, attempting to forge a transfer notice until he was caught in the middle of the process.
Relationships: Possibly a former associate of Jon Hanson.
Otherwise, good luck.
Other: "There is a clear difference between the two of us, Jon - you're a dumbass, and I'm not."
CallaLily180
Age: 17
Personality: If allowed I will RP her personality seeing as it is very twisted and she is everywhere at once.
Criminal Offense: Theft of course! And some drug abuse.
History: Loren's mother got sick and the family was either struggling, it was a hard time for the family back then. Loren's father attempted to steal food and supplies, he was sadly caught in the act. After a small trial her father was killed, putting the burden on her and her brother, she thought it was horrid..he had abandoned her like her mother would soon. Now she knew that she would have to fight, be tough and let no one push her away.
Loren was ready to do it, to steal and to take what they needed by force, yet her brother Liam was apparently repulsed by the idea, she didn't know why though it was something they would have to do sooner or later. They wouldn't be allowed a job, they didn't even have the experience. She tried as hard as she could, working away at her brother until he caved in, she convinced her brother to work alongside her, telling him it would all work out in the end and making sure he believed it fully, knowing he would quit at an moment...her brother was like that. A stickler for the rules. She hoped it would soon change, or she would have to leave him, take it somewhere else and set up a steady foundation alone. Was it so wrong that she despised her brother? No matter how close they got the always seemed to part even further.
When they started the thievery it was simple, so simple in fact she got cocky. For a while she planned it out, working on everything for months at a time before a hit, making sure no one got harmed in the process. Then things started to change, she fell really...it was all so exhilarating. She felt the rush and she grasped it, stealing things daily now, not having a care in the world anymore. She pillaged and she plundered through the space town they called home. It was all she could ever want.
She neglected others, even her brother, never did she talk to him. Never did she care about her mother lying there, a living skeleton in her death bed. It was kill or be killed, and that was how she liked it.
When she fell into a depression she wasn't surprised, apparently being rich didn't really mean everything, sure she had stuff but by now she was alone. Just like a stupid drama. Still living the fast life she found out what she needed was friends, more people like her and less people like her family, her family cared to much...and she couldn't look at her mother anymore. So taking a rebellious turn she got into some more trouble, if that was even possible. She hung out with kids like her, kids that felt neglected and needed attention. Those kids got her into drugs, cocaine, weed, meth, molly, anything they could get their hands on really. They also got her into cutting, sex, all of the above. At least she felt wanted....
One day she was pulled back into real life, her brother was responsible for that, and though she never exactly thanked him she showed her kindness frequently...by doing the bad thing and stealing the family some more stuff. Other than that it was a constant tale of twists and turns, right and wrongs. It was...insanely horrible and stupid.
The day she got caught was one of the best and the worst days of her life, they had dragged her and Liam away, she was going to be 'clean' they said, she was happy for this. But as they searched her bag, and dumped medicine on the floor she dropped to her knees and started crying, being as high as a hot air balloon that night didn't help..she had just remembered the reason they came. For their mother. Being dragged away hurt, screaming and crying like a little sissy also hurt, but thinking of her mother..her good as dead mother made it all the worse. How and why was she so stupid?
Now they are more than just juveniles, all because of her and her stupidity. Now they are part of the cursed one hundred, bound to die out there on the old jungle called Earth. She didn't want to go. She could've changed it all. It could have been different. But it wasn't, the past was the past.
Relationships: Liam Roy is her brother.
Other:
Derpestein
Age: 17
Personality: The few people he met before he was put in an isolation unit said he was quite happy, cheerful and bright. That was, of course, before he went to a isolation unit. Now? He was that cynical bitch who would butt in his nose in every single conversation whatsoever.
Criminal Offense: Double murder and resisting arrest.
History: Rumor has it that Kenny was once a regular kid. Playing with his mum and dad, meeting up with his friends, smiling nearly twenty-four-seven...
When he reflected on it, life was good back then. He didn't need wealth or luxury. Just a warm bed, food and drink and some loving parents. And that's what he had.
It was great.
Of course, all good things had to come to an end. This was no exception. The difference? A freak accident that left burns on the lower side of his face, and breathing was significantly harder for him. That's why he had a mobile life support system that covered the lower half of his face. To cover the burns and to help him breathe.
That was when he was eleven. Skip to a few years later at thirteen and some problems arrived. And it arrived in the form of bullies. They thought they were Hella Cool and of course, they started picking on the kid with the 'gas mask'. "Cause he was a fucking weirdo." They had said.
After some months of tolerating it, Kenny had a particularly shitty day. The bullies didn't help much. He snapped. Kenny walked away from the bullies, and the next thing they know, he comes back with a goddamn knife. God knows where the fuck he got it. He butchered the both of them in plain sight. Cops came and he tried to fight em too. He didn't put up much of a fight. Trained cops over a kid with a knife. Pretty obvious who'd win.
So now, he's lived in an isolation unit for four years. And now, he was sent on a suicide mission to Earth. Of course he was. At least it wasn't going to be boring.
Relationships: Eugene Anders, one of the bullies. Kenny hates his guts and if it weren't for police and guards, he'd find another knife from wherever and shiv him in the fucking neck.
Other:
Cadet
Age: 18
Personality: He's a lazy genius. His IQ is among the highest of the surviving human population aboard the Ark but he has done very little with his gift other than to coast by. He acts the clown but usually is entirely aware of the situation and will quickly turn serious if crossed. While appearing friendly and outgoing he is manipulative and fairly self centered when he feels like it. With no great ambition he uses his talents for low level pranks and misdemeanors. He tries to be at the forefront of group decision making and takes charge.
Criminal Offense: He was caught and sentenced for fraud and hacking after a less talented lackey got themselves caught and ratted him out. His low level drug dealing businesses escaped the eyes of the law but ceased upon his incarceration.
History: His upbringing was fairly mundane. Born to middle class, skilled workers he knew neither great luxury nor poverty. However, the nature of his parent's careers meant he took care of himself during his early teens whilst they worked. He was popular and networked with the majority of his peers, while it was advantageous. What started out as pranks and mischief quickly became low level crime as he pandered to the varying cliques and tried to make a quick buck. Before his arrest Anders had a small drug dealing operation and him alongside a group of lackeys performed various scams and schemes to steal. He had been in prison for just under a year before being selected to be sent to Earth. During that time he tried to make a name for himself as getting things for people. Little luxuries seen as contraband by the guards. However manipulation, tactical snitching and a heck of a lot of brown-nosing allowed him leeway with some guards.
Relationships: Anders never got too close to close and personal to anyone particularly high school. To him friends were mostly pawns and rungs up the ladder. A select few he genuinely enjoyed their company. Because of this attitude his only romantic experiences were several casual hookups. He does not desire anyone as a companion but is always up for a quick fling.
During his time Anders has probably made numerous enemies like people who were the butt of his jokes and taunts.
Other: His time in prison has allowed him to work on his physique such that he is reasonably fit and strong.
Axela
Age: 14
Personality: A know-it-all, unappreciative, judge mental, and a little annoying. Although he seems to be cute and innocent, he doesn't care about anyone else but himself and give little thanks to those who help him.
He was suspected to have antisocial personality disorder, in which he has little fear and doesn't feel any empathy towards others.
Criminal Offense: Theft and assistance in murder
History: He's always had his sister around him to take care of him, and he resents her for that. He hopes to get rid of his protective sister without him doing anything himself - and this is the perfect opportunity. She was just a tool anyway.
Relationships: Cera Thomas is his sister.
Other:
Energie
Age: 17
Personality: Liam learned at a young age the power of a smile, offering up the little bit of contagious happiness to every person he'd met; however, as the years have elapsed and struggle has taken root, Liam has found it more difficult to be his former self. He's come to present a hardened, guarded exterior vying for conversation with purpose over small-talk, as well having become vocally critical of anything he's grown to disagree with as he's learned that silence often times leaves you with nothing but regret and resentment.
Criminal Offense: Theft, Possession of Stolen Medical Supply.
History: He was too young when she got sick -- not too young to remember, but too young to grasp the entirety of her illness. He never understood that his mother's disease was terminal, until he saw the risk that his father was willing to take for the woman he loved. And though, Liam has always possessed a strong sense of morality, he's always struggled with the idea of his father being killed for a crime of theft that was committed simply to keep his mother alive.
It was that system of morals that Liam wrestled with and continues to wrestle with even though he's followed in his father's footsteps -- though, hardly entirely by his own choice. It was harmless conversations at first, he thought he was entertaining Loren's crazy talk about continuing the mission that had gotten their father floated; however, conversation turned into action and he joined along for the ride only because he didn't trust Loren to quit when enough was enough. It started with medicine for his mother, but none of it ever lasted long enough. He'd attempt to comfort her pain and growing discomfort with warm smiles and simply being there for her when Loren was gone. But, Liam began to learn that smiles only provide so much solace and he began to resent their situation, his father's choice that left him with this burden to bear, and his sister's abandonment of him and his mother.
As Loren gained a sense of exhilaration out of the stealing, Liam used it purely for the purpose of making sure that his mother didn't suffer anymore than she already had. His mother didn't deserve to see her kids separating, so Liam put on the smile with Loren and continued making runs with her if only to make it appear that they were as close as they had been as kids; however, when fate caught up with the pair of twins, Liam's tolerance for his sister's self-serving habits diminished, his resentment for her getting them locked away accompanying his thoughts as much as the final image of his mother left to die alone without her family surrounding her.
Relationships: Loren Roy, Twin Sister

Syren
Age: 17
Personality: Solstice, or Sol as some call him, embodies the once natural earth phenomenon he was named after. He is a wild-eyed, outspoken teenager with a sunny disposition. Sol is a free spirit, quick-to-act and believes himself unshackled by the responsibilities that come with being the son of a Councilman. He is also a troublemaker who often plays pranks on those he knows.
There is a darker, more feral side to Sol though; borne from a deep hatred for the unjust hierarchical society he was born into. This part of him is rarely seen, like the Winter Solstice, and is only triggered during times of great need.
Criminal Offense: Treason, Assaulting a peace officer
History: Solstice, utilizing his high-level security clearance, aided his best friend Equinox with hacking into the Ark’s intercom system and warning its citizens of the ship’s failing life support systems.
Notorious for being an unruly troublemaker, Solstice was already under careful watch by his father’s fellow Councilmen and this sudden treacherous act would be the final nail on his coffin.
Solstice and Equinox fought hard before the guards were finally able to subdue them.
Relationships: Best friend of Equinox Ry
Other:
Syren
Age: 17
Personality: Equinox, like his sunny counterpart, derives his name from a naturally occurring earth phenomenon. Equinox, or “Quin” as Solstice likes to call him, is a stoic, quiet boy who prefers sticking close to the walls. Despite his introverted nature, Equinox finds fulfilment in helping others (indirectly, that is. Quin’s palms get sweaty just thinking about replying to another person’s gratitude).
It is Equinox’s kindness, however, that leads to his imprisonment.
Criminal Offense: Treason, Assaulting a peace officer
History: Equinox admired his father. He was the Ark’s chief engineer, working tirelessly day in and day out to maintain the state-of-the-art ship.
It was through his father that Equinox found out what was wrong.
Thomas Ry had been aggravated that night, worried. He made his son promise not to tell…but news like this could not be kept secret.
The Ark was dying; its life supports failing. And if Thomas and the others couldn’t figure out how to save the ship, everyone else would follow.
Solstice had offered to help. Being Councilman Evans’ son had its perks, and getting past security and into the Ark’s communication systems was one of them.
Not long after the message was sent did the guards find them. Both boys fought hard, managing to bring a couple of the officers down. That was until one of them pulled out a laser knife and swiped across Equinox’s face.
Soon after Equinox found himself face-to-face with his very own isolation unit.
Relationships: Best friend of Solstice Evans
Other: Equinox suffers from periodic anxiety attacks.

Though very high-strung, Espen is quite a little girl. If that could be taken as a good thing. She is smart, but has much yet to learn, and is eager to soak up any knowledge she can. Whenever she falls silent, she is no doubt deciphering something about the unknown, something that many never truly bother to question. Perhaps that is why she seems a little...off kilter. Was it because someone so young thought so hard? Or was it because she knows something everyone else doesn't? No one knows. Those that asked, never got an answer, only a bright smile and a shrug. As complicated as she can be, Espen is a caring person at heart, but is riddled with many inhibitions. Many things that she has quieted down from, things that have turned her to a darker nature. She may smile, but steel lies at her core, melting away slowly, yet steadily. As her heart tries to break free from the barrier she had built for a long time- bordering insanity.
Criminal Offense
As a child, Espen had been very fond of fire. In fact, it was the flames that she took comfort in, they would tell her stories with their images, and provide her with warmth. She wondered how such a dangerous thing could be so wonderful, so...beautiful. In fact, it hadn't been long after she had first begun lighting small matches to larger, yet contained flares. She could manage to keep them contained, until the ever fateful day an officer had caught her about to light a small couch near the back of their unit. He yelled at her to put her hands up just as she was pouring a little bit of 'ignition fluid' into the flames. She responded with a gasp, surprised by the booming voice behind her, and in her haste to comply, the bottle slipped from her hands and fell into the fire below. What happened next, happened very, very fast. Though it seemed to go by extremely slow for Espen. As soon as the bottle landed with a sickening thud, the flames flickered before roaring to life, exploding beside Espen and licking at her legs as she was knocked out of the way. The officer had received the brunt of the fire, it had scorched his clothes, nipping at the skin on his back. The flames were spreading quickly, and Espen knew that if she stayed, she would be in horrible trouble, that if she ran, she might have a chance.. Without thinking, her fist brought itself upon the officers jaw, causing him to do no more than let out a groan- she was quite a bit smaller than him after all. But she did manage to take him by surprise, allowing herself time to wriggle out of his grasp and dash to the door. It wasn't long though before she had been cornered, the officer, Jake Reynolds, had her pinned against the wall of the unit and had cuffs on her in no-time. As he was a family friend, or more so, a friend to her father, he had managed to persuade the system into letting her legs be cleansed and properly bandaged, as well as covered with her favorite knee-high socks. Soon after, she had been thrown into the juvenile systems. Left to think over what she had done. Yet again, she felt no remorse, only a bitter hatred burning inside.
History
Espen has always liked to runaway from her housing unit. Not that she could go anywhere on the small shuttle, she had always been returned by Mr. Reynolds, who seemed to know where she'd be. She had always liked to feel the longing in her chest that reminded her she was alive, that reminded her she was in fact human. Even after receiving plenty of scolds from her parents, even a minor strike from her mother, and still didn't feel any remorse for what she had done. She had only felt the thrill of the adventure, the fire in her chest at the realization that she cared enough to want to go back. But never, not even once, did she ever feel that unmistakable pang of regret, the little voice in the back of her head never spoke up, never warned her off, leaving her to her own devices. Her parents had soon had enough heartbreak, enough stress from their no-doubt troubled child. They had said it was for her own good, to be locked away from the outside world and kept under wraps in their unit. This, of course had led her spiraling into more of a defiant young girl, causing her to spiral off into her own world, Seek relief from the world within the flames she lit. Trouble was, she never found any.

Polar
Age: 15
Personality: Dae expresses his thoughts like there’s no tomorrow. He says what’s on his mind, and he hates it when others don’t. He doesn’t mean any harm, but he can be quite blunt and brutally honest. He was taught at a young age to never let himself be repressed, to embrace freedom and fight for it. Overall, he’s pretty laid-back until he has the need to state his opinion.
Criminal Offense: Vandalism and theft
History: Dae was born in a not so privileged family. They had a decent housing unit, but it wasn’t the best. His parents worked 24/7 to pay for his and his older siblings’ school fees, taxes and luxuries. When they were old enough, his older brothers and sisters started working too. Having no one at home for most of the time, he would usually stay over at his dad’s friend’s place. He was the one who told Dae to never hide his feelings, to always be vocal. He had also taught Dae how to create spray paint from scratch. One material, paint to be specific, was hard to come by for people like them. He hadn’t questioned how the older man had so much of it, but his unasked inquiry was answered one day.
The two had nothing to do that night, so his father’s friend decided to finally bring Dae to where he got his paint. The young boy followed him without a doubt. They arrived at a large open space filled with numerous people, much like a market. Off to one side was a desk with lines of colour on it. The older man pointed at it, and then pressed his finger to his lips. Dae understood what was about to happen and complied.
He watched as his old friend sneaked by the crowds, silently slipping a can of paint off the table. He did this with such precise movements that he was back before Dae could realize. Afterwards, the two continued to steal from the vendor, until Dae made a careless mistake of swiping more cans than usual. Both tried to make a break for it when the security came, but they were caught. His father’s friend yelled at him as he was taken away to never let himself get pushed down, no matter what. He was floated the morning after, much to Dae’s sorrow, while he was simply confined to an isolation unit.
Relationships: Open to any.
Other: All Dae wants is to be able to make art again. He’s also fairly quick on his feet.
