Personality: A quiet and subdued man Cynric prefers to take things slowly and carefully, he will normally look over a situation and decide on the correct course of action rather than run in with no idea as to what he is up against. Cynric can also be very patronising and cynical to others believing himself to be above them, though he is never one to not accept help when it is given to him. He despises being wrong or being unable to do something he wants to do due to unforeseen circumstances. He can usually be found smoking his pipe while reading over a book or cooking. When it comes to cooking his personality shifts. He becomes a beaming ray of sunshine who…No he doesn’t change at all. Don’t mess with him when he cooks something and make sure you compliment his food.
Background:
Cynric had always been an inquisitive child, his father had always wanted him to grow up and become a great mage like his father had been. When Cynric showed promise in his classes his father pulled him out of school and home schooled him. Cynric was a fast learner and it wasn’t long before his father could not teach him anymore. As a result Cynric's father had to ask for outside tutors. Growing up this was all he knew. Learning was crammed in his face for his entire young life, knowing nothing but magic.
Cynric soon became interested in the darker side of magic specifically; Necromancy. The idea that he could control the dead and extend his life and power appealed to him greatly. His father discovered his sons secret obsession with Necromancy however it was too little too late to stop what his son had become and more importantly. What he had done.
Late at night Cynric’s father followed his son as he snuck out of the house. What he found disturbed him greatly. Crying out in dismay he called out for his son to answer for what he had done. Cynric had long ago rented out an abandoned warehouse which he had been using to study the dark art of necromancy. Many bodies layered the floors and walls in a ritualistic style, the stone cobbles that made up the floor had long since lost their original colour and were now stained red with blood. Cynric had been acquiring quite a large amount of bodies which he had been working on over his life as a young man, digging up graves and kidnapping people so that he could experiment on them and gain insight into the workings of death.
Cynric looked at his father an evil look in his eye. “Look father! Look at what I have done! Why are you crying? Aren’t you happy, because of this my knowledge of the unknown has grown even more.“
Cynric admitted to himself that he may have got a little ahead of himself but in his eyes it was all in the name of knowledge. His father did not see it like that, he was one of many that thought of Necromancy as a crime against human nature. Cynric’s father conjured a ball of fire in his hand, he would not let the monster that his son had become escape.
Cynric sighed at his father. “I always hated you. Did you realise that” As Cynric spoke the bodies around the room came to life sticking themselves together and rising to block Cynric’s view from his father. “You realise that this is all your fault. I had no proper childhood! All I knew from the moment I could read was magic! You know what?! This is your punishment for robbing me of my childhood!” With a gesture of his hand the corpses shuffled forward grabbing onto Cynrics father who tried in vain to blast them away taking out maybe a quater of them. The corpses soon reached him and ripped him limb from limb. Once the man Cynric had called Father was gone the corpses dropped back to the ground as dead as they had ever been.
Due to his little grave robbing and kidnapping he was forced to flee a wanted man from his home town. But how could he let such things escape the confines of his town. Conjuring the dead from the graves he ordered them to burn down the town, then pinned it all on his father making Cynric seem like the victim of a merciless attack by a crazed man. Cynric left the land of highrock that he called home and went to cyrodiil. It was here that he learnt his real passion cooking he had like with magic a natural gift when it came to making delicious meals for others. Due to his natural talent he was able to easily find work at various inns and taverns.
However he wanted more than just being a great chef he wanted adventure and excitement a chance to really test out his powers and expand his knowledge.
