By definition of what a coalition is, you guys technically aren't a coalition. :P

You would have to have joined together for a common purpose, e.g. defeating Napoleon, and usually be part of an alliance that is temporary in nature. You would think that in order to be a coalition, the threat would have to exist before the establishment of the alliance, but in your case, your gigantic alliance predates the war.

As far as who has the lamest name, I think you guys win.

The common purpose of the Eight Coalition was to oppose the Treaty of Constantinople. It very much falls under the definition of a coalition, and is much more creative a name than the generic "The Allies".

I guess we decided the name wasn't such a big deal.
The Axis Powers was a better name than the Allied Forces but that didn't save them.

I will say the Eight Coalition is less generic than 'the Allies', but both are still ripped from history.

Isn't it essentially the Crimean War mixed with the Seven Week's War sparked by the Netherlands invading Belgium with support from Prussia?

^ The precipitating event of this war was the Austrian and Ottoman suppression of the nationalist efforts of their citizens and neighbours, and their opposition of movements towards national unity abroad. I should know, I'm writing the treaty that declares it such.
