The attack of the alchemist boy really impressed Whitney. She had never seen someone who wasn’t a Pokémon to move like that. He really seemed like a brilliant guy. Whitney decided to try to correct her earlier unfavourable first impression. Sadly, it didn’t start out very well. Whitney’s Bibarel’s wave hit him as well.

“Oopsie”, she mumbled and giggled nervously a bit. Then she noticed who the fiery attacker was and also that she was somehow completely alright. Whitney wondered if she had just imagined the sword-cut. She was pretty sure that she wasn’t though, after all she could repeat those movements detail by detail in her mind. Kaguya was also just fine. She was complaining a bit about her neck but Whitney didn’t notice any visible injuries. Is she fire/ghost type? But then the water should have been super effective and she seems to have taken no damage at all. Fire/ghost type with ability which make her immune to water type attacks? That sounds ridiculously strong! I wonder if I can catch her… Except that the sarcasm-Amaterasu said that Pokémon don’t exist so I doubt she is one. Such a shame…

“You’re the fire girl from earlier!” Whitney returned to reality from her internal monologue. “But why…”

A loud noise hid “did you attack and how you’re alright and do you two know each other?” behind it. Whitney watched astonished how Nonon suddenly transformed with a glimmering dance of stars.

“A shiny Mega Evolution! First time I’m seeing one!” she shouted before realising that Nonon had made it pretty clear that she had no connection to Pokémon. But Mega Evolution or not, the transformation was amazing. There were so many incredible things which weren’t Pokémon that it was almost scary.

“I want to be capable to do that as well”, she whispered astonished.

Saber

Saber was silent for a few moments. She was unsure of if it would be best to explain her nature... but then, on the other hand, secrecy seemed to lack the benefits here that it retained in her world of origin. Still... to expose Rin, and by extension Shirou, seemed to be unwise... and so Saber decided to answer the question in a vague fashion. By answering in such away, she would not risk her Master in any way. She wished no harm to come to Rin or Shirou... It was her duty to protect them, not put them at risk. Still, Saber would explain herself and her nature. She did not like lying.

"... My master is a female magus," Saber replied. It was true, entirely so, and yet it certainly did not reveal Rin's identity. As for herself... "As a servant, I serve a Master. As a knight, I serve those in need. However..."

Saber paused. No, there was... no further reason to hide her true identity.

The King of Knights took a deep breath. Invisible Air dispelled, shimmering away to reveal the glittering silver blade and blue and gold hilt of the Sword of Promised Victory. It gleamed even in the dark. The tip of the blade touched pavement, Saber placing both hands upon the hilt. "As I said, Saber is simply the name of my class. I am the heir to Uther Pendragon. I am Arthur, King of the Britons."

At first Ba'al was relatively dismissive of Saber's answer, as one might expect from a being as old as him, he had his own opinions on 'magic', namely that it didn't exist. But perhaps he was cynical from playing 'God' for so long, and having so much of what he did interpreted as magic by primitives. So he would hold off definitive judgement until he got proof one way or another, which seemed unlikely in this situation.

Then, the impressive bit, as Saber released some force, her sword shimmering into existence where there had been nothing before, gleaming even in the dark. It was a deadly weapon if he had seen one. He only wondered how it would match up against his Shikra Blade, and wished he had it here.

The announcement of identity was taken...unusually, perhaps a lot more calmly than she might expect, Ba'al folding his arms and giving her a bemused smirk, obviously finding something funny about this situation. "Well now, I didn't expect to find myself with royalty, especially one so fabled." There was a slight bow, his concession to one technically in equal of status to he. "I've been to Camelot, and I would cede that it is a nice enough place, though I have a feeling that my Camelot may be different than yours. Still, it is a pleasure to meet in person the Once and Future King." Him actually being female was something he could deal with, given the fact that Merlin was actually an Ascended being in his universe, so gender was a small issue. Especially again when it came to being an asexual parasite.

Saber

Saber's response was silence. She did not have any preconceptions as to how he would react, and so there was little surprise at him taking it so calmly. After all, Saber had no way of knowing what the world that Ba'al was from was like. There was the faint hiss of metal through air as she raised the tip of her blade from the concrete. Even with how she felt she had not done such good for her people... that did not change the fact that she was and always will be the Once and Future King. And so, when she was required to do so, she introduced herself as such. The mention of Camelot... of other Camelots... It was... Saber supposed it should not have shocked her, And yet it did...

A Camelot, even if it were not her Camelot, thriving... Saber could not help but feel happy to hear such a fact. It meant that somewhere, the place she had once called home, even if it was some other version, had survived...

After a long pause, she spoke again.

"... It is good to know that there is... some place that Camelot remains," replied Saber. It was a simple thing to say, as Saber was truthfully unsure of how to further articulate her feelings.

That unsure feeling Sazh had continued to flare up listening to the creature's words. So everyone that was here had been here, for who knows how long. And it wasn't just them; there were other Challengers, too. But they had all died, or otherwise failed the challenges. None of that was at all particularly reassuring to the l'Cie and his experience with gods. Who was to say that this time would not be different, and that the Viewer was just being insincere? The mage with the glasses suddenly popped his head out of a higher window and invited the red creature inside to elaborate further. Apparently getting inside the hotel was an honor, to the whooping lizard-thing. Sazh had the same idea as Saber: as tempting as it was to learn further of this world, they all set out here to do missions, and missions was what Sazh was going to do.As the pilot looked back to the snowy forest they had come from, Sazh caught sight of a burning streak across the sky, amidst a flurry of fireworks. The blaze flew down sharply before crashing down... somewhere in the forest. A handful of moments later, and there was a dim, but wild stream of lights emitting from around that same area. Then it hit him: Wasn't that spot at least very close to where they had come from?"Uh... hey, fellas," Sazh spoke up nervously, "I think we might be getting some commotion back in that copse." He was motioning for nobody in particular to follow, while sidling forward to strain out what might've been various shouts coming from the forest.

His time to take in information was cut short by the shear volume of it all. So this world knows who we are and at least someone respects us, he thought quietly. There must be some reason for them all being here though, perhaps I am being too hasty in my judgements. Suddenly fire came blazing in the distances and his other group member yelled and took off.

He was following Sazh best he could, when they managed to arrive the sight was quite something to behold. The rather annoying girl had actually . . . well it had seemed as though she fused with some sort of machine, water was pouring from an area around a large animal of some sort, and one of the ones who went to the top of the tower was currently steaming and continuing to blaze with some sort of magic. This was going to get complicated fast. He looked around to see if maybe perhaps something had provoked the attack and he was only met with more newcomers. Annoyed and slightly angry that he had taken as much effort to arrive for virtually no reason he 'yelled' to the growing group of people "Just what the hell are you all doing?" though on second thought the same could probably be asked at any point in the group of people, that seemed to never stop expanding "Perhaps you should 'calm' the situation'" addressing Sazh "I think perhaps I lack the experience to well do much in this circumstance." Really though it had simply occurred to him that he should not yell obscenities to a bunch of fire/water/odd music making machine wielding group of aggravated people.

As if the day could not get any more weird. There was some sort of... beaver-like thing making a huge wave of water, a teenage-looking figure with an intricate sword (who looked VERY confused), the flaming girl from earlier standing a little over a complaining maiden, some sort of old martial artist who was desperately trying to shrug away from a cat (who itself was being nudged aside by some bipedal cow), and to top it off, that cynical girl from earlier was flying in some sort of costume with jets and cannons over her shoulders and WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON!?

Sazh was snapped out of his stupor by Asphyxious addressing him, suggesting that the l'Cie may be slightly better equipped to handle this kind of thing than the lich was. Over one of the thoughts in the back of his head that wanted to say 'I told you so', Sazh simply nodded hastily and rushed out into the clearing. No time to waste.

"Woah, now, hold up, everybody," Sazh shouted out, waving his arms to obtain attention from the group. "Now let's all just slooow down, before we end up doing something real nasty. Just... stop what you're doing, and relax. You're gonna wanna hear what I have to say next, alright?" If he could diffuse the situation and get everyone calmed and listening, then that would be as fantastic. Unfortunately, it was as desired to Sazh as much as it was unlikely. Still, nothing was going to change for the better if he didn't at least take a shot.

Hotel

As Shiroe moved down to greet the lizard, he saw several people disappear to explore. The tactician decided he'll tell the rest of the knowledge he has learned once he has was done listening. Seeing that there were several others still lounging nearby, the Bangaa then nodded and cleared its throat- making a gravelly gargling sound. "Right so, this hasn't been the first time this has happened. The City's been floating about here for about two years now, and this here's batch of Challengers- youse guys, are the eighth generation. The closest any other has gotten to was Day 19, now that was a crazy one." The lizardman chuckled, lost in memory lane.

"But anyways, everyone of the others failed or dropped out, so the cycle always reset back to Day 1. As for the Challenges themselves, there are usually objectives that are divided into one of many categories. The most simple one is to simply defeat something or someone in battle, though they will likely have forces arrayed against you. Then there's something where you have to defend a place from invaders. Ones where you have to finish something within a time limit or find something for someone. They'll all be grand in scale and the City will warp its settings to fit a Theme. One time the entire place became a chain of islands in a giant sea and everyone had to go about in ships or boats!" The redskinned lizard said enthusiastically. "Crystal clear blue waters, golden sand, plenty o' sunshine! Now that was a blast! And there was another time when zombies attacked. That one wasn't so great..." Standing about near the lobby with the opened doors, it was pretty easy for any newcomer to see and hear that scene, such as Korra.

Clearing

Ranma was about to say something sarcastic and blunt before the situation turned into- well, one of his normal days. Meaning someone shows up and lobs an attack, there's retaliation, and then a big old ball of violence would ensue. This proved no different as a wall of water liberally smacked him in the face and washed him into the ground... where he came back up as a girl. With an irate face, the now redheaded girl muttered under her breath and stood up to wring the excess water from her now sodden clothes that emphasiszed her womanly curves. "Right, that's par the course..." And then she looked around and found everything had turned almost as weird as it could back home. "...I hate my life..." Though she lost some of her annoyance as she saw an African man popped up, hoping to calm everything. The fact that someone had a clear head actually made her respect the guy. "Go on then, man. I could use a bit of good news." The pigtailed girl said, walking towards him with her hands on her hip in an unconscious feminine action.

Jakuzure Nonon

Nonon floated in the air and stared blankly at the scene before her. Okay, so... there wasn't a situation apparently? She folded her arms, frowning. And things were just about to get interesting, what a shame... at least neither of those girls had died. They seemed pretty dumb but seriously, dying for no reason was just plain stupid. Still, how exactly had that worked out? She doubted that either of those girls had anything to do with life fibers what so ever. It was pretty unlikely. "So, what, you try to kill each other often? ... Jeez, or succeed looking at the kinda things that you two just went through."

Nonon shrugged, still hovering in the air . Oh, flight... even when it wasn't strictly necessary it was still pretty nice. The only one who Nonon wanted to see above her was Satsuki, so floating above these shmucks was pretty much to be expected, and... wait, wait. That guy... he'd... been hit by the water... And now... now that was definitely not a guy who had just got up right then. That was... how...

For a few moments, Nonon was silent. Then her lips curled into a catlike smile... and all that Nonon could do was point and laugh hysterically. Seriously? Some manly martial artist turns into a girl? That was rich.

The long pause was something Ba'al was unused to, though he wasn't sure how Saber, or King Arthur, that is, would react to the news he had presented. Given that he had never met Arthur in person in his reality, he couldn't gauge her feelings on the subject, and the knight did a decent job of hiding her emotions on the subject, for the most part. Still, when her response did come, it seemed he had hit some soft spot in her armor, some nerve, or just some emotion.

"Indeed, though I hope it isn't a problem that the Camelot where I come from isn't in England, or Albion as it might be called," he replied, that still smug, bemused smirk present. "Where I come from it happens to be on another planet, one of dozens of almost idyllic medieval societies scattered throughout the galaxy."

Then a shrug. "As for yourself, well, you vanished from history, leaving behind different variations of legends. Though there are two major differences I find, which relates mostly to your fate. On Earth, they say that King Arthur died after the battle at Camlann against Mordred, and was laid to rest in Avalon, form whence he would return to take up the throne again. On Camelot though, they say that you survived Camlann, returned, and then went to journey for a powerful weapon called the Sangraal. They also believe that Merlin was a devious trickster." That earned a widening of his grin. "Given what I had to go to to find this weapon Merlin created, I would not fault them that belief."

Vash nodded, listening intently to the Bangaa’s explanation. Based on his description, most of the challenges seemed simple enough — though Vash was certain they’d all have some sort of twist to them. At any rate, the only one that got him really concerned was the “defeat someone in battle” sort of challenge. He could only hope that the rules for such fights would be lenient enough that he wouldn’t need to kill his opponent in order to win…

But he’d save that concern for later. “So, these past challengers,” Vash spoke up. “What sorts of beings were they?” he asked. “I mean, it makes sense to say they’d be just as diverse as us, but, just how powerful were they? Did this Day 19 group have any near-gods or…?”

Mokou was quite literally steaming as she stood there, the remaining water evaporating from the resurgent wings of flame that clung to her shoulders. She was rather attached to her phoenix motif, and it was times like this that it came in actually useful, though 'drying off more quickly' wasn't the normal benefit from being able to shape flames to your will.

"If either of us could die, we'd have found a way in the past four hundred years," Mokou offered as an explanation, not really use to people objecting to the pointless violence rather than practical concerns like 'please don't burn down my house'.

Kaguya had decided to try and find her bunny rabbit, since it had gotten rather lost when she was suddenly attacked. And then she spotted it: perched on top of a hat! Since that hat was rather high up, this meant flying, and this meant that Nonon had someone level with her, reaching towards her head... and unless she just blasted Kaguya back to the ground again, holding a bunny rabbit about level with her face.

Saber

At Ba'al's explanation, Saber was silent. Camelot... was another planet...? As strange as that was, her focus was on the rest. So many regrets... even if she did not wish to change her past any longer, to forfeit her kingship under the impression it would save her kingdom, she still regretted the events that had transpired. Mordred... the Battle of Camlann, Merlin... so many things had happened that she regretted. But no. No longer would she dwell on them and a wish to change such events. Even if she did not... feel well about it, she still would not dwell on it.

Despite her unwillingness to do so, Saber's only response was cold and to the point.

"I see."

With that, she turned away, scanning the immediate area for anything unusual. There seemed to be a bar further down the road, but Saber did not think that would be of any interest. Instead, she focused on the outdoors.

"Do you see anything?"

"Is their a way to leave this island?" Connor interrupted Vash now looking at the person he was talking too,"And is their a way to beat these so called "Gods" He said with a half chuckle he wasn't much of a church going person since he didn't believe that god would both bless and curse him with immortality to watch his love ones die off while he lived. To him it was some cruel joke that he would not take part in.

"Finally, I'm here." Korra said to herself as she had made it to what looked like a city. As she walked around looking for anyone, she spotted a group of people talking and what looked like a lizard. "Can this day get any weirder, first I appear on this island, now I'm seeing a lizard man?" she asked, in complete disbelief at what she was seeing before her. "Well, they are the closest I've found to other people, so it's worth a shot." she said to herself, cautiously walking towards the group, trying not to get their attention just yet. "Um, hello, my name's Korra, and, well... I don't think I'm supposed to be here, so if any of you know how I could get out of here and back to my friends, that would be great." she said nervously, avoiding the lizard as much as possible.

Well now, this place certainly got very crowded very quickly. Aside from the immortal flame spirit appearing and 'killing' the apparently equally immortal lunar princess, some kind of armoured humanoid demon had appeared, closely followed by a man with a big ball of hair. At the same time, Nonon had changed shape into a... whatever it was, and the guy who was deathly afraid of cats had turned into a girl. To put it in one word: wut.
While the metallic-looking demon was wielding a quite evil-looking sword, Felt wasn't planing on attacking anyone first-hand any time soon after seeing his previous target regenerate without as much as a scratch on her. As for the human -- or at least one of the most human-looking beings--, he at least tried to calm the situation down a bit, which was a good thing. How the man was planning on accomplishing that without a weapon, Felt didn't know. That is, unless the black things he was holding were supposed to be his weapon. At this point, the swordsman wasn't going to take any chances anymore, seeing as to how insane this place was. "I agree. L-let's all calm down for a moment," he said, letting his sword lower a bit more, although he didn't sheathe his sword just yet for reasons that should be obvious.

That taken care of, Felt walked towards the girl with the giant beaver, who was apparently the source of the powerful water attack that struck him and what he had previously assumed to be a fire monster. Seeing as she was just about the only person in the entire field who seemed to be on his side, he'd rather be closer to her than to just about anyone else.
"I-it's okay," the young alchemist stumbled, still a bit confused about everything that just happened. "It's partially my fault for not communicating correctly. Good thinking though; Fire creatures tend to be weak against water-elemental attacks." There was still one thing that bothered him though... Felt had seen some very wide-ranged attacks before, but none of them ever hit anything but the intended targets. So why did this attack hit him? Apparently, the laws of whatever universe Whitney and her... Poking Men? Whatever they were called. Either way, said universe apparently had some very different rules in terms of combat. Unless, of course, the girl struck him inentionally too. Not that it mattered all that much, because in that case he'd still rather be close to her instead of staying at a range where she could hit him but not the other way around.

"Either way, stay on your guard," he continued in a whisper. "I still don't trust that fire girl, although she doesn't seem to plan to attack again any time soon. As for the rest; who knows what they'll do, let alone those newcomers..." Technically he didn't have a real reason to trust Whitney either other than gut instinct, but there was no reason to tell that to the girl's face.

Again, Ba'al wasn't sure what he had been expecting there, but it certainly seemed that Saber wasn't the emotional type. Which was an interesting change of pace, since he hadn't dealt with the Asgard much, and his usual companions were egotistical and grandstanding. On the plus side, it made this more of a challenge, and that was okay by him. He could use the fun.

He looked around as well, searching out people, places, patterns. And he did see them. "Well, nothing out of the ordinary in terms of buildings, but if i don't miss my guess then there are other competitors in these trials in the bar up the street," he replied. "At the least, there must be something that has caught the interest of those walking by, and given the attention we have garnered it would make such a guess easy."

"Woah, now, hold up, everybody. Now let's all just slooow down, before we end up doing something real nasty. Just... stop what you're doing, and relax. You're gonna wanna hear what I have to say next, alright?" Sazh said. Whitney attempted to look the situation from the standpoint of someone who had just arrived and wasn’t too happy. The water was the vastest attack there and her Bibarel was clearly the cause of it. It looked like she had started the commotion even though she had just tried to protect everyone. Her protecting skills would really gain something from training though. Whitney felt like starting to cry. It was so clear to her that everyone would blame her about something she hadn’t done. She hastily took Delcatty and Bibarel back to their Pokéballs and called Miltank closer to her and said: “Go ahead and tell.”

Well maybe, just maybe, I was a little careless, she admitted to herself. “But nothing else and you’re supposed to react fast when you’re under an attack!

Whitney realised that the boy who feared cat had vanished and instead there was a girl who looked like a female version of him. She had no clue whether the boy had just changed his gender or if they were two different people. Nothing seemed impossible anymore. Or then the girl had been a girl all around and the water had washed away her illusion or disguise. Whitney had no clue. The only thing she was sure about was that he or she didn’t look like an aqua mouse. Whitney was also pretty sure that when Azurill evolved into Marill, it had a chance to change from a girl to a boy, not the other way around though.

Whitney just shrugged to the fact that Kaguya and the fire girl couldn’t die. There were obliviously Pokémon who couldn’t die and Whitney had also heard about a person who had lived over 3000 years in Kalos. She was a bit jealous to them but forgot it in an instant when the alchemist boy approached him and started to talk her.

Whitney had thought about trying to make a good impression. Instead, she found herself explaining how what she had done wasn’t that impressive at all. “Um, sorry. I usually only battle one-to-one so I completely forgot about my surroundings. Well, they’re actually my Pokémon who battle, I just train them, give them commands and use healing items when the rules allow it. I can’t do anything myself like you can use sword. And um, yeah, I’ll stay on my guard. I had somehow completely forgotten about it.”

Whitney realised that she hadn’t even told the boy that she admired his swordsmanship and she couldn’t open her mouth to say that again. She also realised that she had made a completely fool or herself when she had admitted that she had forgotten not to trust in others. Whitney was about to facepalm but then realised that it would look pretty odd if she didn’t explain what she facepalmed for. She instantly changed her hands course of movement to look like she was trying to fan herself. Then she realised that the air was pretty cold and was about to facepalm again because of her stupidity, only to realise that facepalming without a reason would look as odd as before. This time she started to adjust her hair and, for her luck, she didn’t came to think that it might look like she was trying to look good for the boy.

“Well, I’m pretty sure the only way to leave the island is when we complete and/or fail at the trials.” Vash answered Connor. “As for beating the gods, well, I for one would rather play along with their game. At least I get a shot at that… wish…”

Up until this point, Vash had been a good boy — staying mainly focused on the important things at hand. But, there are certain things a man like him just can’t resist. And the sight of the exotic woman who’d just entered the Oasis was one of those things. “I regret to inform you that getting back to your friends won’t be too easy, my lady,” Vash spoke up, his voice suddenly much deeper and smoother than it was a moment ago as he appeared at the Avatar’s side almost instantaneously. “If you’re a Challenger like us, then you’re here to participate in dangerous Trials set up for us by the Viewer that brought us here, and if we succeed, then he’ll grant us each a wish.” he explained quickly. “It’ll be a dangerous game, I’m sure, but judging by your fierce eyes and wild hair I’d say they’d be a breeze for a woman like yourself. And if they’re not, well, then I, Vash the Stampede, a hunter of piece who chases the mayfly known as love, will be right here by your side to protect you…” he cooed sweetly, slowly wrapping his hand around her own. “It’s tragic that you’ve been separated from your friends, but, at the very least, there’s the hope that you might find something more…~”

"Then do you know anything about these....trials?....Sounds like they are mere children playing with a anthill and we are the anthill..." Connor spoke calmly walking beside Vaash,The immortal spoke but had a thought of why the gods would bring them here and what propose it serves. But this goes back to the theory of these so called gods playing with them like ants in a way it seems a word Ramirez used once,Asshole that was the word he used once the old goat but that would be the right word to use to describe them and for once in his life he felt sort of helpless.

Saber

Saber glanced at the bar again. And now, looking at it more closely, she could see... the boy? And... some strange figure inside it as well... Without further pose, her armor gleaming, the King of Knights swiftly crossed the road without further hesitation. Or, for that matter, any explanation to Ba'al whatsoever. She wanted to find out, immediately, what was happening in that bar. She did not stow her blade, or do anything of the sort. Instead, she simply shoved the bar door open unceremoniously and stepped inside. Places such as this were not locations she frequented.

... Unless they had good food...

Shaking that thought from her mind, Saber refocused. The boy was alone in this bar, and it was clear something was going on. She stepped inside, looking around.
