Shujin
He simply looked at Lazarus. "You know... seeing you stand a top the sacred alter, with that evil grin on face, almost killed me. I'm glad that you managed to find yourself, find such loyal friends, and become the man that my brother was truly meant to be. I wish I could make it all go away. But I can't. This is the one job I cannot refuse from the royal family. Your acts cannot go unpunished." The ice prints on his armour melted away as his metal heated. "It is true, I would rather see this man dead, than in a cell. That does not mean I wouldn't give him a fair trial. It is not up to me to decide his punishment. The gods themselves will decide that." He looked down. "I am not an enemy of Phoenix wing, nor do I wish to be. But... no matter how you try to help him, Lazarus Rex's heart is black. He cannot be saved." He increased the size of his blade via moulding, just in case anyone tried anything.
Lazarus
The cuffs were broken, and he rubbed his wrists. Given everything that was being said, he was just glad his guild had his back till the very end. He smiled a little, before remembering the situation. Sasha said that she loved him. He was taken a back, and opened his mouth to say something. He couldn't. "I'm sorry Sasha. What I did can never be repayed. I can't say the same thing to you, even if it's true. I wont let you live a life without me, if that were to be the case." Telling someone you loved them too, right before you were locked away for life, didn't seem like a fair act. "Shujin is not lying." He looked down. "It's true." His voice shook. "I tried to change, to make up for everything. I forgot the magic I had learned, and started to use angelic magic. I joined a wizards guild, Phoenix wing, and for a while... I even believed in myself that I had changed, that all was forgiven."
"Amaterasu, formula 100!" Lazarus cackled, standing on top of the sacred alter, black hair trailing over one eye. "Disappear you bastards!" He laughed at the priests cowering, huddled together in the middle of the room. A couple of them said goodbye to each other before the spell was cast. The purple magic fired, blasting a concentrated beam of destructive magic downwards, killing the priests instantly. When the dust settled, nothing was left. "Hahahahahaha!" He laughed once more. Nothing left. "Weak scum!" He grinned, turning on the spot. Between him and the door was his 'father'. Lazarus grinned, arms crossed. "You told me that this magic wouldn't bring me happiness. LOOK AT ME NOW! I am truly happy!" He grinned. "Thanks for raising me... I'll make your death quick, dont worry." He pointed his hand at the elderly man. "Disappear." He charged up black energy in his hand, ready to fire. He suddenly stopped, feeling a tug at his leg. He looked down. "Get away Shujin-kun." He was hell bent on destroying everything that had held him back so far, but before hand he had decided that he'd leave his fellow orphan alone. "Get out off my way Shujin-kun... now...." He was intimidating and scary to the kid a fair few years younger than himself. Once Shujin had moved, he look back up. The elderly man he called father was nowhere to be seen. A sudden rage took over him, in which he unleashed his magic, bringing down the pillars in the chapel. He walked out, dragging Shujin by his collar, as the building collapsed. "Learn the way of Zeref, and join me brother, or leave me be." The younger boy had heard to stay away from those readings, and declined. Lazarus looked at him. "Farewell." He turned on the spot, and walked off, in no particular direction, leaving his brother behind, who was crying in front of his burning home.
".... and that's how it began." He croaked. "I don't need forgiveness... I just need to pay for my crimes."
