The worst of it is that her boss was manipulating her so he had the excuse to fire her. Told her the wrong time to be in to work, didn't tell her where he posted the schedule so she could check it to find out when she worked, gave her a five minute orientation, and more bull shit I can't remember.

Sadly that's a common occurance. They do that in training when they realize oh crap i don't have enough money to pay for another employee do they create and excuse to fire those in training as it's easier then those who aren't in training

I hope she can find another job quickly

The issue wasn't money though, they're short staffed even. The issue the boss is an ass and a lazy one at that. He'll show up to work for 45 minutes to an hour then leave for the rest of the day.

The whole place isn't like that, my dad's worked there for years. The issue is that they're short staffed all across the board, a lot of the nursing staff recently left, and so they can't catch everyone right now because they're covering other shifts and such. It's a nursing home by the way.

Then I think what needs to change is the management. How the boss hasn't already been caught is beyond me, considering a nursing home seems like a place where you would need some for of manager there quite often.

The administrator is there, but she's got to cover nursing shifts. Sunbridge has had this issue before, same as any other kind of business. The guy will slip up, they always do.

Well its nice to know that sort of thing happens in other countries too with nursing.

nursing is, sadly, a corrupted thing. If one person of the long employeed staff doesn't like you then you are gone.

and short staffing is an issue of funding. A lot of places here are short staffed because they don't hve the moneyfor enough nurses.

They did it to me and about 50 other assistant nurses half way through our contracts, citing something we did as a reason for our being fired.

The guy who was made her boss had been working there a few MONTHS but they made him manager because he was the only one interested in taking the job. It wasn't even nursing that she was working in, it was as a dishwasher.
