Alright. I'll tell you what. I'll give you a male nelf priest. Ilyndriel Shadowsong, "Lyn" for short, is the illegitmate child of Jarod Shadowsong and Shandris Feathermoon. Yeah they had a thing. Lyn was inspired by his mother and Tyrande and became a wielder of Elune's light. He was heavily involved in the fight against the Lich King in icecrown and helped put down the second coming of Ragnaros, but those were his big adventure days. He's good at combatting the darkness.

We used to Roleplay on the official Warcraft forum, so I suppose I can explain a few things. I'm guessing you didn't get to experience it.

1. It's okay to be a bastard child, but it is typically frowned upon to connect yourself to main characters in the canon(official story). Think of it as a taboo if you will.
2. Ragnaros' second coming is so far pretty much unheard of as of yet as we're playing just after the Cataclysm first hit, it has basically just begun.
3. We're using an oldschool interpretations of Warcraft's lore(this is only because we liked it better than the newer one), essentially before things such as when Blizzard decided to retcon the gender roles, so a Male Night Elf priest is a little inconceivable.

If you can improve on those 3, you'll have come a long way.

Though there isn't any shortage of other potential characters you can play. If you have any questions or other character concepts, feel free to ask me :)

I can understand avoiding cannon characters, but I made this one quite a while back and kind fell in love with it. it's also semi conceivable. I see your timeline is a bit behind where I used to play, but I can go back to that point. And yes, male nelfs are pretty much all druids, unless they have an odd reason for being something else. They are also, up until recently, pretty much all alseep a lot of the time. A male priest wouldn't be entirely unheard of. Elune is at least as highly revered as Cenarius.

I wouldn't mind editing his family history.

I don't think all the male Night Elves are druids who prefer to live away from society, as that would pretty much have lead to the collapse of a Night Elf society :P but a large chunk of them, yeah.

It might be best to change your character's parents too. Just come up with some fictional ones. In fact, you don't even need to go into detail about them if you really want to.

And while Elune is as highly revered, and perhaps even more so than Cenarius, a Male Night Elven priest would still not really be practical as he wouldn't have had access to the higher echelons of training within the sisterhood due to rigid traditions, and never been accepted by the rest of society either.

Though I also have a question for you;
Why a Night Elf male exactly? Have you never tried any different characters before?

My favorite race, and I like playing guys. I know most about them than anyone and enjoy writing from their perspective. It is what I feel most interested in.

How about a rogue that usually lives away from society and plays at double-agent?

A thief like character would probably fit the plot a lot better.

Granted, that thief would probably have to be either dwarf, human or gnome as you wouldn't really find any Night Elves in the human underworld, which is where this roleplay is heavily involved.

I think it would be a lot easier to integrate you into this story if you played something other than a Night Elf :P
I personally tend to create and play a lot of different characters, depending on time, place and situation. Variety is the spice of life, some might say.
