There was a brief moment of confusion as the robot's hand attempted to curl around the tiny intruder, only to be stopped by the forcefield. It was vaguely aware that its fingers were being stopped by something, like it was holding a small, invisible ball, but before it could investigate the situation the boy had already leaped away and escaped.
Just in time for a bolt of lightning to strike the robot. The robot who could convert raw natural resources of energy into its own. Rather than damage it, the electricity was practically sucked into its conductive metal body like a sponge, more than making up for the drain on its energy reserves from fighting in the pitch dark fog. (It had only charged for a few hours in the afternoon sunlight, after all, and would surely have powered down if the fight dragged on long enough.)
The lights on its bodies brightened noticeably, the red hue growing brighter and more vivid, pulsating with power. It focused in on the three approaching enemies, two hands descending like giant fly swatters to crush them flat. The female slipped under its arm and started jabbing indiscriminately, but the snowblade didn't seem to be doing as much damage as the shadow blade, and in fact even seemed to be melting slightly on the edges as the robot's surface heated up from the overcharge.
The male, on the other hand, had been swiftly crushed. Triumphant, the robot shifted its attention from the lesser threat and lifted its other hand- only to see nothing underneath but the imprint from the impact and wisps of black smoke. The clone had done its job well, the robot didn't even see the real Sam flying towards it. It was a good sneak attack, but the massive weight difference between them meant that the small human crashing into its face didn't even make it flinch backwards, it was like trying to kick over a building.
Sam wasn't trying to knock it over, however. The sword between his legs cracked his 'landing pad', sinking into the circular, glowing faceplate, with spreading hairline fractures following the force of impact. Again, the blade became lodged, and again the robot brought up both hands and clapped them together, attempting to crush the boy between them. Even if it didn't succeed, the force of such large metal objects crashing together would create an almost deafening sound, and a shockwave big enough to send the smaller body flying back.
