Guild Name: Association of World Explorers
Guild Head: Cale Pietrok
Guild Description: The Association is more of a loose support network than a guild, dedicated to information exchange and aiding the brave explorers of the world. There are smaller AWE buildings through out the known world, but the one located within Karstberg is undoubtedly the largest, acting as the Associations HQ. It is the role of those individuals registered with the Association to expand the world map - and even redraw some places too. They allow anyone to undergo the interview process, so long as they know the risks and are passionate about their work. AWE buildings also double as Bed and Breakfast's for passing explorers.

The guilds current head, Cale Pietrok, is a man driven by his whims. Those whims, unsurprisingly enough, revolve around exploration and archaeology. He's never in one spot for too long before moving onto the next, but he makes sure to stop by Karstberg when he can. Petulant and stubborn, yes, but he is by no means a poor leader. He has the uncanny sense of being able to know when he's needed in Karstberg for business.

Um, since my character doesn't really sit well with some of the additions to the setting, I think I'm going to try to work out a replacement, rather than finishing that profile. ^^;

Name: Heidi Schwarzwald

Age: ~150

Gender: Female

Race: Pixie

Appearance: A slightly tan child with emerald eyes, Heidi is on the small side for a child, thus making her a bit small for a pixie. She makes up for this by avoiding haircuts like some horrible plague: her hair is over six feet long when in its normal curls, making it a very good thing that she can fly everywhere it the need arises. As a wingless pixie, she has more options for clothing than is the norm, but she doesn't take that much advantage of this, favouring a strapless, sleeveless dress composed wholly of fresh leaves.

Profession: Gardener-in-Chief, Carmine Park

Personality: Somewhat easily distracted, but infinitely more mature than she appears to be; Heidi is reliable enough to ask for advice... but if you present her with a complicated problem she'll probably be gone before you finish explaining it. As a result of what she is, she tends to dislike harming plants, but is even more baffled by the concept of stabbing things to death, cutting them up, charring them, and then devouring the half-burnt flesh. Taking the byproducts of reproduction and consuming them is only mildly less weird.

That is, when the pixie eats something, it's invariably vegan.

Equipment/Weapons: She has access to gardening tools, little as she needs them.

Abilities: As a pixie, Heidi has the innate ability to fly. She also has the ability to control plant life--for the most part, to make it grow faster and to some desired pattern, but she can also shrink plants back and cure them of such things as Dutch Elm Disease (not that Holland exists). Thus, she tries her best to avoid mundane gardeners: what they take years to achieve, she can pull off in an afternoon. When it comes to landscaping, however, she has to put in as much work as anybody else.

Brief Backstory: Born in the same park she now tends, Heidi is extremely strange for a pixie in having come into existence in an urban area. Thus unlike most of her people, she's far from shy, and is used to navigating crowds to get something to eat (not that it's a necessity, but it is better than an empty stomach) or to buy clothes for fancy functions. After about a decade taking care of it of her own initiative, she was officially employed by the mayor's office to take care of the park, with less magically-gifted gardeners answering to her. As she refuses to sleep anywhere but the park, Heidi has a surprisingly large supply of funds stashed away when she decides to celebrate something.

Race Name: Chameleon Beast-Folk
Race Description: Just as the name suggests, chameleon beast folk are humanoids with some chameleon traits. A Chameleon beast folk can be identified by their skin color (normally green), their big eyes that can give them a 360* view, their large tail and their large tongues, usually measuring between one and a half to two times their height. Chameleon Beast-Folk are omnivorous and they do not mind the occasional insect. It's one of their favorite types of meat. There are a few characteristics about their body that make this race an amazing hunter and defender. First, their tongue, is not only long but fast. An adult Chameleon Beast-folk can project their tongues at about 14 MPH. Second, their eyes can not only give a full 360* view, but can also focus on two different objects at the same time. But the most amazing ability of the chameleon beast-folk is their ability to camouflage. By touching a material, they can replicate the color and the pattern of that material and hide in plain sight. They do have to be naked for this and the more complicated to replicate is the pattern, the more energy is used.

As for as weaknesses, Chameleon's beast folk have a really major one. They are cold-blooded and heat makes them numb and lazy. Too much cold though, can kill them straight away. It's normal to see Chameleon beast folk wearing the least amount of clothing possible during the day, but the most amount possible during the night.
Magic Name: Void Storage
Magic Description: The users of this magic are able to create a link between their world and the void in order to access an infinite storage place for various items. New users of this magic can open a portal only big enough to be able to store a retrieve a dagger or potion. Masters however, are able to store things of various different sizes, the biggest one recorded being a small airship. While novice users of this magic need to extend their hand to the rift in order to retrieve the items, Advanced users can open various rifts and around them and retrieve whatever items they need just by calling out their names. They can also call out a quantity, but if no quantity is claimed, the rift will release all items called that have the same name.
Alright. I want to try out something that I've never did, which is a completely evil character. If you're not ok with this, let me know and I'll change it right away.
Name: Derill Straull
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Chameleon Beast-kin
Appearance:
Profession: Alchemist during the day, Serial killer during the night
Personality: Derill has what it's known as a Chaotic Evil alignment. He enjoys causing suffering and mayhem, not caring even in the slightest about the value of a life, He's a compulsive liar and enjoys creating his lies out of thin air, but always trying to cause the maximum amount of pair or chaos with them. His preferred methods of killing are poisons, usually psychotic, or explosions. He has a bit of an arsonist on him. Still, despite all this, he tends to fill a little compassion to the people he spends more time with, usually killing them quickly and painlessly.
Equipment/Weapons: Due to his Void Storage, Derill can store an infinite amount of items. His stash is filled with various bottles filled with explosive materials or poisons, some of them in gas form. Apart from this, he has about five small daggers.
Abilities: Void Storage magic (Advanced user). This means that he can call for certain items and open various rifts around him, but the size of the rift is just big enough to move a piano.
Brief Backstory: Derill was just a normal guy until, at the age of 15 while he was alone at home, he experimented a bit with his chemistry set and accidentally caused an explosion that ended up killing his dog. Derill thought that he should feel sadness over the loss of his trusted friend, but in fact, he felt nothing but pleasure. When their parents came back home and saw what happened, Derill made up a story about there being a gas leak. Their parents bought it and Derill thought, at that age, that if he could lie his way out of a though spot, he could continue to do whatever he wanted to with no repercussions. His next victim, 2 months after the accident, was a cat that his parents brought back to replace the dog. This time, Derill felt like he wanted a bit of irony, so after getting a small mouse, he filled it with rat poison and gave it to his cat. The cat ate it whole and Derill watched with joy as it's life slowly vanished. After that, Derill's parents never brought a pet home, but Derill's killings didn't end there. He mostly used poison to kill various other animals. Birds... Dogs... Cats... Even the occasional raccoon, but for some reason Derill wasn't feeling as much pleasure as he felt before. So, he decided to move on up on the food chain. Humanoids. One night, while his parents were away, he sneaked out of his place and entered his neighbor's house, An old man that for some reason, was always being mean to him. He had managed to reproduce the mixture that had killed his dog, but also made it more controllable. It would only explode when in contact with fire. His neighbor was deaf, so he didn't hear Derill walk in to his room, place the bottle right next to his bed and extend a fuse to the window. After leaving the house, he lighted the fused and quickly ran to his own room. A few moments later, there was small explosive, not big enough to cause much damage to the room itself, but big enough to ensure that he old man would die. Derill watched everything from his window and the feeling of pleasure returned.

A few years later, Derill joined the Alchemist's Guild and focused all his time in to creating more powerful explosives or poisons, and most of his nights he would field-test those items on various persons. He always tries to be careful about not getting caught though since the lab he has on the Alchemist's Guild is really important to his research on how to make his explosives and poisons more effective.

Actually, since I don't have any other ideas (for now at least) and the warrior's guild* has rendered the first one unusable, I think I might have to sit this out.

*More specifically the job board part of it. Since as my profile says, my character was going to have trouble getting serious work. It doesn't say this yet, but I'd hoped it could've been assumed by the abilities and appearance, this is due to the fact that she appears to be an extremely poorly equipped teenager rather than anything to do with her skills. Obviously, this doesn't really work with the way that system's set up, where whether or not someone gets work has nothing to do with the employer's impression of them. And the guild seems to be presented as being so perfect that frankly, there's no real way to justify her not joining it. Basically, unless I make the character a complete idiot or evil (neither of which fit in with what I had in mind), this renders my initial idea unworkable.

@Dragonydas: Okay, I'm going to address this before I look into anything else.

By the rules of how beastkin work, what you've written isn't one of them.

Beastkin, even when they're squid, look almost entirely human aside from some relatively small traits. All squid beastkin have is a "Hat" and tentacle-hair. They have other abilities that do not effect physical appearance as well. This holds true for other beastkin.

Basically, the chameleon people you've written up seem more like they would be lizardmen, or something along that vein. Something more animal-like in appearance.

I'll look into the rest shortly.

Edit: Also this isn't a modern setting. Gas leaks and chemistry sets would not be a thing in this.

Edit: While don't mind bad characters... having so little motivation is not sitting well with me. Also, killing daily? He would have been caught so fast.

Hey. :) Just wanted to let you know that PrimezTime and I have been collaborating together about my girl's limbs and such. And now that his character has been accepted, I've edited my character to work with his character's type of magic, so my character's artificial limbs should meet your requests now. :) Please let me know what you think. -- My character is on page 2.

Hmm. While it's better, medical technology still takes a backseat to magic. Things such as closing her head wound and keeping her stable would definitely be mostly magical rather then technological.

I hope that this character makes the cut:

Name: Lord Duke
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Lord is entirely unremarkable in every way. His black hair is of medium length famign a clean shaven face with brown eyes. He dresses neither richly or poorly, wearing a simple maroon waistcoat over a white shirt and charcoal trousers.
Profession: 'Import/Export'
Personality: He appears to be a little bit manic and excitable, his interest flitting about from one topic to another. He is always friendly and courteous, willing to help a stranger to toss coins to a beggar. During negotiations, he focuses his entire attention to the task, nudging the deal carefully into his own favour. In a dangerous situation all sign of mania totally disappear and he will ruthlessly sort out the problem to his satisfaction.
Equipment/Weapons: Lord Carries a wooden walking stick imported from a distant country. It is hard enough to ring like steel when struck and is a match for any blade.
Going into anything that may turn violent, he will undoubtedly be seen wearing a pistol sword on his hip.
Abilities: Using what little magic he has, Lord Duke can cause objects to be overlooked as long as no attention is called to them.
Brief Backstory: Lord Duke is neither a Lord, nor a Duke. He does not hold any title, lands or property more significant than his airship and some buildings near the port. Under assumed names, he also owns a handful of safehouses scatted across the city.

Lord never intended to be a criminal. After several years of crewing aboard tradeships bound for far off ports, he bought his own small ship to make the short runs to nearby cities for fast and easy profit. The money soon turned out to be not so fast and not so easy and he fell into debt. The moneylenders had him soundly beaten, and gave him the option of working for him to pay off what was owed. The deals that were made introduced him to various unsavoury people that turned into bussiness contact that lasted until long after his debt was paid off.

Right. The magic is the important binding element here; without magic, it would be steam 'n gears working independently of her body. It's the magic that helps bring metal and flesh together to work harmoniously, mostly. Lots of check ups 'n things are still required to make sure things go right. And, the constructs are interesting in their own right, since there is something powering the constructs that now has to work with Calli... Needless to say, there will probably be some fun side-effects. And as for her head piece, even her engineer guy was like--Uuuuhh, don't know how that worked, but it did. Go mage! :D

So, inclusion, yes--magic is doing most of the work for Calli's prosthetic attachments, but the limbs are still made out of gears, cogs, and springs that allows her to move normally. ;)
