Zhayne would never look at the Mansion the same way, especially after everything that had happened. Not that it was apparent that he was disturbed by the deaths, shaken by the sudden drop in morale, and the fact that he himself was put into situations that legitimately threatened his livelihood. Overall, his spirit was exhausted from having to be so strong, and to bear the burden of being one of the few to survive the slaughter. It was harder to know that some of he faces he recognized would never be seen again, and so he found himself conflicted. Trying to figure out how best to live the rest of his life, while being mindful of the people who sacrificed themselves to save him and his friends. Thankfully, most of his close friends made it out alive, he could only hope that psychologically they weren't nearly as stressed as he was. His pearly black eyes stared at the ceiling for an undetermined amount of time, the abandoned kitten he found a few weeks ago purring in it's sleep was one of the only sounds filling the small room. He alternated between blinking slowly, and listening for any picayune sounds in the hallways with his ability. He could have been using any slew of innate animal attributes, it was to the point where he didn't care to identify it, he'd rather just bask in the dense silence.

He wouldn't blame anybody that had to suffer through that for wanting to simply remain in their rooms and clear their minds, solitude might as well have been the best remedy when dealing with something like this and then attempting to move on. What else could they do? It was almost as if having these abilities forced an automatic obligation to the circumstances, regardless of the moral complication. Or maybe it was just Zhayne who thought that, he'd never really know. He breathed out for a moment, having stayed in bed awake for 2 hours now, the thought of leaving the room hardly entered his mind, he was almost afraid that the events would reoccur if he opened that door. Surprisingly though, he felt safer here than anywhere else. His feet hung over the edge of his bed, he put a hand through his dreads pulling on the strands before scratching his scalp lightly. While the bunker accommodated as his new home, it certainly lacked the charm of the mansion. For a while though, it was easier to forget his sorrows than have to be reminded if they remained in what was left of the dorms. At the same time, his mind didn't want to dwell on his misfortunes for the rest of the day, and so he stood up and got around to the bathroom. The routine of washing his face, and brushing his teeth kicked in quickly. Afterwards, his thoughts would dwell on his phone, if anyone wanted to talk they could always call. Most of his outgoing calls in the last few days were directed towards Aaron, which he swore he saw him a day or two ago, swore he could feel his presence somewhere. Aaron was careful enough not to get himself killed, not as of the other mutants didn't, but Zhayne just seemed to prioritize Aaron because he knew him personally.

He hadn't returned any of his calls, and Zhayne was ultra worried, a part of him was apprehensive to know whether or not something happened to Aaron, what else was he to presume with no contact between the two? He walked out of the bathroom back towards his bed, and took up a fresh pair of clothing from what he could gather after the aftermath, luckily his room wasn't too tarnished, only to add to the fact that he hardly kept heavily significant personal items. It made him wonder just why he had chosen the bunker instead of the apartment, maybe he just trusted Beast's leadership than anyone else. Knowing his life was still in danger, he had to wonder whether or not it'd be better to forge a normal life, to leave, and mend his life separate from the X-Men. For now though, those thoughts would continue to be linger at the back at his mind, far more prevalent was the sudden rumble in his lower stomach. He was starving, and wasn't exactly sure of the last time he had eaten. He opened the door to the room, walking out , taking in the bunker air, which was a mixture of a stale stench of inactivity, and the newly added pheromones of the mutants who were housed down here. He would have described it as neither good or bad, from that he was able to sniff out the distinctive scent of Beast, and other mutants like Sarina (he was cautious in admitting that she smelled something akin to a scented candles, and picante or some sort.), and Jacob. That led him towards the Gym, or at least the corridor that put him there.

"Hey!"

He certainly heard that but he had no idea just where it came from, then came sounds of panic, and struggling. He looked everywhere but had yet to see anyone, till he dared to look up at the ceiling. A student was basically trapped to the ceiling, their body from what he could see was phasing through the bunker walls. From the looks of it, Zhayne probably couldn't do much about it,but get help. "Uh...just...stay there? I-I'll go get some help." He ran into the gymnasium only to find more trapped students sinking through the walls and floors of the bunker like it was quicksand. He had to wonder how long he'd be perfectly stable. He looked around to find Beast and Scattershot surveying the situation, while all he could really do was stare quizzically. He walked towards the small group, a bit bewildered but ready to do something. We aren't just gonna leave them like that are we?" he asked.

Steve wasn't stupid. He knew exactly what Jay was referring to. It grated his nerves, but for once he passed by it. He knew with Laurie here and her time sight thingy, Jay wouldn't try anything. But what concerned him most was the look on Laurie's face when he asked about how long he was out. "Hey... Laurie?" he asked with a gentle tone but a very serious look on his face "What. Happened? Please... tell me". He was practically begging, shuffling carefully toward her. A thousand negative situation plagued his mind. Most prominent being... where were his other friends? And were they okay? She opened her mouth to talk, but before she could, they heard something from the hallway.

"A scream?!" Steve asked, alarmed, his previous line of inquiry forgotten as the three burst out of the medical bay. Well... two burst out. Steve was still having problems walking, and stumbled out, but managed to stay standing. What they saw shocked them. Several students had become intangible and were stuck in walls, the floor, and the ceiling. "What the..." Steve murmured, reaching out to try and help one of the kids, but sure enough, his hand went right though her. "Please..." she sobbed out, clearly terrified "Please, help me".

"Shhh, shhh. It's okay. It's gonna be okay" he tried comforting her "Listen. I'm gonna go find Dr. McCoy. He should know what's going on. I promise, we'll get you back to normal, okay?". Apparently it worked, because the girl managed to stop crying, but the fear was still heavy in her eyes. Not wasting any time, Steve turned to Jay "Hey, where's Beast?" Jay didn't respond, probably focusing on the rest of the compound, Steve guessed "Hey?" Still no answer. "HEY, JAY!" he shouted, finally getting the guy's attention "Beast. Where is he?" "Oh, um... He's in the gym. Why do you-?" "Thanks, I gotta go. Watch them" he cut Jay off and reached for the overhead light, focusing on the electric current running through the compound. Luckily, he was familiar with it's set-up and could sense the large bundle of electricity that was the gym. His vision suddenly tunneled as his body turned into pure electricity and merged with the current running through the cables. Following the path towards where he felt the gym to be, he managed to get there in about 10 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the gym, a lone lightbulb began to glow a bright blue as Steve untangled himself from the current and reform his body. Unfortunately he forgot one thing... the gym lights were rather high off the ground. And he plummeted to his death... nah, I'm kidding. He just hit the ground really hard, ironically landing right at the furry blue feet of Beast. He slowly sat up cradling his head, taking in a sharp intake of breath "Ooooowww... my ass" he mumbled, looking up at the face of his old science teacher. "Oh! Dr. McCoy! Perfect! Listen, there's a bunch of kids that are stuck in walls over by the medical bay. They need help quick, and I have no clue what to do. They're see-through and intangible" Steve quickly reported, pointing at a kid who was showing the same symptoms right behind Beast "Just like that kid... and that one and that one and... wait... what the hell?". It had finally dawned... this was bigger than just the medical bay "Oh, shit..."

Caleb smiled as Heidi took the plate, suddenly he heard a scream and saw that one of Andrea's foots was literally in the floor. "What the hell?!" he exclaimed as he picked her up to see her foot was completely transcluscent. "What in the hell is going on?" he asked as he looked and some of the kids were floating and some falling through the floor. Caleb grabbed someone's hand who seemed to be struggling as their feet started to sink.
"Who is doing this?!" Caleb exclaimed louder out of frustration. That's when he saw a car going insanely fast towards the building. "OH NO!" he yelled closing his eyes to not watch since he couldn't do anything. But there was no sound, he ran over to a window on the other side of the apartments and looked out to see the car continuing to drive. "It just passed straight through.." he said. "Angel!" he said, "What's going on? do you know?" he asked, "What should we do?!" he said.

He then heard screams as he looked out and notice some random street looking mutants seeming to take advantage of the sudden chaos as not all three of them were effected. Neither was Caleb, but he was still holding Andrea. The mutant's seemed to be messing with cars, and people. One of them had a transparent hand that he used to unlock a door. Caleb handed Andrea to Angel who he could tell couldn't fly.

"I'll take care of these guys." Caleb said as he went to the stairs and ran outside to meet them. "Hey!" he yelled at them, "Go back to wherever you came from!" The mutants looked at Caleb and gathered together and laughed at him. "Or what human?!" they asked, "Are you gonna cry like the rest of them when we beat you down?" the mutant with the transparent hand asked as he turned his other arm into a club. The other mutant next to him suddenly had a small ball of energy in his hand. The third one put his hand up revealing small holes in his elbows where he shot out a sharp bone into the ground. "Well human?" one asked, "You have 3 category 3 mutants staring you down. What's it gonna be?"

Bass grinned, "It's going to be you leaving...now." he said they charged him when he finished saying it but didn't go to far. Bass brought his hands back and clapped them making an extremely loud clapping noise reverberate through the area, it was extremely loud almost as if someone had just fired a gun next to their ears. A shockwave flew out smacking into their chests sending them all flying back. They got back up in utter shock. "I am the X-man, Bass, category 4 and highly dangerous." Bass said as he was quoting what he had heard a soldier say once about him. "So like I said, you will be leaving.. now." Two of them nodded and ran but the one with the transparent hand ran at Bass. Bass quickly dodged his one swing with the club arm, and it was over for him. Bass using his wing-chun smashed him multiple times all around his side, each time sending a small shockwave to do more damage. Bass then grabbed the club and elbowed the mutant in the face sending him flying. The mutant struggled to get up as he now ran off.

Caleb walked back upstairs, they're taken care of." he said with a half grin. It was nice to get back into battle, and show how much better he had gotten.

Sarina went back to what she was doing once more after speaking with Aaron and leaving his room, She was glad to of helped him and of course it was nice to actually stop from everything she was doing. Heck maybe she would be able to catch up on some sleep at some point to, That would be nice. Either way her next port of call she had planned was to go and see her friend Raixx and see if his condition improved in the infirmary before she would check up on some of the other younger students, Sarina really stepped up helping them in the Absence of Storm.

It was on this way to see her friend when she heard a yell and some sort of commotion nearby, Sarina quickly ran over to a room to see a student slowly phase through the floor becoming intangible to her shock, She could see the student was scared as only one thought came to mind that her favourite teacher Shadowcat was only capable of such a feat but that quickly snapped out of her mind as she ran into the room to quickly try and grab the students hand or arm, Anything that could help her pull the student up but it was to avail as her hand simply passed through with the student disappearing more and more Sarina began to panic she was unable to help them. "I will get help!" She yelled, She hesitated to leave the student at first but she needed to get Hank and pray the student didn't fully disappear into the ground.

She ran as fast as she could, Sarina could not understand how or why and none of it made sense other then suddenly feeling useless and bad for leaving a student in danger behind even if it was to get additional help to save the student. She must of been roughly halfway through to getting to the others in the main area, well she hoped they were still there. It could be possible Hank can figure this out. Well that was if she made it to him as unknown to her Sarina was affected by this strange occurrence, Weather understood or not it took slightly longer to effect the young teen but effect her it did.

Rounding a corner, Sarina became partly intangible, But to suddenly float a little along with failing to grab hold of anything to stop her momentum she simply went straight into the wall, Well most of her that is, She went into the wall at such speed and angle that her body went in except for her head and right arm up to it's shoulder that was when she suddenly and quite painfully stopped as she let out a yelp of pain from her arm getting dislocated. Sadly she was also a split second after the help as quick as it started was knocked unconscious from her head making contact with the said wall leaving what could be seen of her laying on the ground. If Sarina was concious and aware she would most certainly of wish she never ran around the corner as fast as she could and once more she got herself into a pickle.

It seemed like the cast of them would show up pretty soon but it wasn't until that familiar voice sounded that he froze and turned his gaze to Zhayne. He hadn't even noticed him and Aaron couldn't tell if it was in due to the commotion or looking so different. He put it to the back of his mind as he piped in with a question and viewed Hank.

"Do you think this has something to do with life energy? Maybe i can help?"

"You certainly can try, Aaron." Beast looked heavy in thought. Although, he did raise his eyebrow when he realized Aaron's new mutation.

He shrugged and walked to the girl, averting everyones gaze but Beasts. The girl still looked extremely frightened. Heck the majority of them did, especially the...aggressive one Aaron just left. He hoped this would work and that he'd be useful, as he placed his hand on her cheek. "We won't let anything happen to you, alright? It's okay.", He then closed his eyes and focused as a golden light from his hand began to glow. He was giving her some of his energy, but even before he even opened his eyes, he could tell it hadn't worked. Yes the scrapes on her solid parts were healed but nothing else...

"I'm sorry..."He started as the glow on his hand faded away and the teen began to enter panic mode again. "Mr.B-, I mean Beast will find a way to fix this, he always does."He wiped her tear and then stood up as he turned back to the group. "No use..."He said as he played with the hair on the back of his head. Defense mechanisms...He caught himself and abruptly stopped. "Oh...and hey guys."He smiled lazily and then fixed his gaze on one of the other victims.

Heidi was helping the other children who had phased into objects when Caleb got back. she noticeable had circles of wood around her ankles, and there were two holes in the floor where she was sitting when he left. She turns to him. "Welcome back! The kids need help."

She finishes freeing one who had their hand stuck through a wall. "Something very powerful has done this. Something with the power to affect matter all over the country. Maybe even the world. I'm not sure."

Panic and chaos erupted around the world just as it had around Hank McCoy. Students poured around him, others were caught in the furniture and walls, some fell over because only one leg went intangible. The new HQ of the X-Men wasn't looking good right now. Beast had a look of concern on his face but he knew that staying calm mattered. He needed to show how keeping a cool head is important when you've got powers at your fingertips. He popped his neck and straightened his glasses up on his nose with his index finger. His voice grew loud for a moment and had a little growl for effect.

"Everyone with intangibility issues needs to stay calm and make your way to the clinic area in the southwest corner of the bunker. I need to make a phonecall..." Beast got quieter on the last part and grabbed an ear piece quietly saying "Call-Warren."

Scattershot helped the nearest person stuck in furniture, namely the counter, and helped him over to the clinic area as he didn't have the use of one and a half legs... Jacob couldn't help but look over to his jacket and dufflebag containing his suit. He could feel the adrenaline rush coming on.

Brooklyn...

Angel was still outside trying to shake off the intangibility. Suddenly his cell phone starts ringing in his robe.

"We need to put a team together, Warren. What's the situation at the shelter?" Beast said on the other end.

"Kids stuck in walls, you know... usual Saturday evening just on a weekday. One of my wings is out of commision and I can't shake it off whatever it is." Angel said into his high tech phone that makes most stuff out on the market look like K-Mart knockoffs.

"It's Kitty. The government must've done something to her, or something... I'm trying to track her now with what equipment I have here at the bunker. Cyclops and Wolverine didn't exactly make it up to speed on the tech side of things. I had a fourteen year old asking me what a cassett player was earlier...." Beast said trying to keep a level head around the kids on his end.

"I think I've got a few kids with Danger Room experience that are still in one piece..." Angel said into the phone walking back into the shelter/apartment complex.

In the town of Ashbury nearly everyone was stuck in the floor or floating aimlessly like a ghost. Avalanche trailed behind the captured X-Men begging...

"PLEASE! Take me with you... I don't wanna stay like this! Don't leave me!" he said loudly as Colossus, Storm, and Iceman floated towards what looked like a giant burple foot. But now... it was moving.

"On second though..." Avalanche said under his breath trying to float another drection as the intangible X-Men began observing the large foot as it started to move it's owner up from the ground.

The giant world-eater rose to his feet still in a ravaged state. His eyes began to glow and his new herald floated by his side.

As soon as Beast got on the phone, Steve was up on his feet. Looking up at the high ceiling he was about to use the current again, when a thought crossed his mind 'There are bound to be kids on the way who won't know what to do... It would be best if I took the scenic route, pass along Beast's instructions as I go'. With that goal in mind, he turned his heel and ran out the gym doors. Sure enough, he found several people who were freaking out as he went along. Steve did what he could, helping those he could touch get to their feet (in a sense) and telling them what Beast said. They in turn helped those they could as they went. Amazing what a calm head does in scary situations, huh?

As Steve came upon another corner, he saw a sight that scared him more than anything he'd seen so far today. A familiar redhead was unconscious on the floor, halfway through a wall. "SARINA!!" he cried and ran over to her. Trying not to panic at the sight of blood trickling down her face, Steve gently went to grab her by her arm, but she gave out a pained moan, despite her lack of consciousness. Checking her shoulder, Steve could feel it was dislocated. Instead he grabbed her chest (what was still solid) and gently... oh so gently, lifted her up. "Dammit all. She might have a concussion. I've got to get her to the clinic fast!" Steve muttered to himself, and set off at a pace even faster, yet still somehow careful, than before...

It was unknown how much time had passed for Sarina or any of the others who were in trouble or distress. But Sarina was unconscious so time really had no meaning or understand of why or how it has happened. eventually as time passed and unknown to her, Raixx had finally discovered her and immediately went to her aid as she felt pain in her shoulder when he initially grabbed her and let out a little moan of pain which had her possibly in a semi conscious state.

Eventually she was free from the wall and being ever so carefully assisted in moving to a new location to which one would hope was the clinic and be seen by the nurse. Sarina did somewhat come round and could feel her blood trickling a little down her face and constant pain in her shoulder from moving. She did not even really who it was that was helping her or exactly where she was in the facility and simply let out a few more moans failing to speak, If only she wasn't so careless she could help the others instead.

It had been a long and very difficult journey for the young mutant, so much hate in the streets - so much fear about the 'mutant menace'. The young boy, Alex had decided to travel by night, sleep by day in hopes that he would have an easier time of things - less people about; that is what he thought, he was right about that - apart from those who creep around in the night are even worse then those who partake in the rat race in the light.

That was behind him now. He stood at the entrance to the one place that would help him gain better control over his mutation, but as he looked up at the archway but it had been quite badly destroyed and only part of it was still standing. Shocked Alex climbed over the rubble that blocked the driveway to the school and started to walk down the drive way.His journey was shortly interrupted by the schools defense systems activating, small guns popping out of the lawn, targeting him and then shooting. To say that the young earth mover was a bit surprised was an understatement as he tried to run past the seemingly never ending guns and other defense measures the school seemed to have.

A few moments of running/ trying to avoid the weapons fire (with some success) he had got got to the steps leading up to the front door of the school where he managed to dive into the alcove, leaning against the wall, tired and scared he slid down the wall and curled up into the fetal position wishing that the guns would stop or that he had some better protection from the guns. As Alex focused on the thoughts of being safer he had unwittingly activated his mutant power as he could hear low rumbles (not that he was in a position to pay attention) as the earth just below the lawn surged upwards and was drawing nearer the 17 year old where it made a wall of earth sealing off the doorway before enforcing itself with more earth making it more sturdy.

Alex only looked up when the only source of light had been extinguished and his jaw dropped when he saw what had done it - it was one of the rare times that he felt his power was a gift and not a curse. All he could do while he sat there trying to calm himself down was that someone would notice the disturbance and help him...

Steve had finally reached the clinic, just as Sarina began to stir. However, even he could tell she was reeeeeeeally out of it. Hell, he didn't even think she could tell who he was. "Hey, hey, easy now. You'll be alright" he whispered quietly to her making his way to the front of the line. "Excuse me! I need help. I've got seriously injured here!" he called out, hoping to get someone's attention over the ruckus this chaos had caused. Luckily, someone did hear, and before he knew it, Sarina was swept out of his arms. Quite quickly in fact, he really had no idea who had done so and and for a while had no clue where they went. Until he saw her lying on a bed in the corner of the room. 'Oh... well... that was fast. I hope she'll be okay' he thought, debating whether or not to stay here with Sarina or go help more kids. "Ah, dammit" he cursed, knowing he had to help as many as could "I'll be back" he said, more to himself as he turned towards a hallway and ran, continuing to spread to word and assist anyone who needed it.

Steve kept this up for who knows how long, until he sensed something weird in the currents. When he woke up he could barely sense anything beyond the bunker, but now his powers were back up to snuff without him even noticing, and he felt the defenses on the lawn just now activate. 'Someone's here... someone who shouldn't be' he thought to himself as am earthen rumble ripped across the hall. "Is that... Avalanche?" the last Steve heard of the brotherhood mutant was... well not much, but he never thought he'd come here. "Dammit! Not exactly the best opponent I could ask for, but the others are too busy. Well, crap" he said aloud before focusing on the defenses current.

Not fifteen seconds later Steve was standing on the front lawn... and dodging the damn guns. "OH, WHAT THE HELL!?!" he shouted, jumping, rolling, and doing everything he could to avoid getting shot. He barely had time to register a large mound of earth over by what was left of the front alcove before a bullet ripped through the meat of his leg and bringing him down to his knees. Suddenly incredibly jealous of whoever was behind that wall of earth (clearly not Avalanche, as he can't manipulate earth like- ohshitincomingbullet!!) "Sonofa-" and suddenly Steve was next to the mound. "What the...?" but before he could even finish his thought, another bullet wizzed right by his ear and damn near shot it off. "Okay... now I'm mad. Time to make this showy" Focusing on the nearest he tried to see if he could do the same thing he did before... and was suddenly right next to it! Before it could retarget him, he drained it of it's power supply (temporarily) and moved on the the next one... and the next... and the next... and the next.

It wasn't long before he had all guns disabled, as well as a bit of a handle on this new teleporting thing. Seems he could turn into a bolt of electricity and travel through the air "Sweet. Oh, right! Earth pile" Steve remembered, heading over to it and pushing his new ability to the back of his mind. "Excuse me! But whoever is in there, please come out!... Hello?... ... Hello!... ... ... ... HELLO-OOO!?! Alright then..." Steve lifted his hand, focusing the electricity he gathered from the turrets, a grin falling on his face "I'm coming in... Thunder... Javelin" with that dorky little phrase, he launched a high-intensity bolt of electricity at the wall, punching a hole big enough for a torso to fit through... which Steve then did. And upon seeing the young man in the corner, freaking out a smidgen, decided to go with friendly "Hiya! You and me need to talk"...

still cowing in the alcove he could still hear the guns firing, then someone appearing to fail (at least on occasion) not dodging the gun fire, it was enough to make him drop his am s from his face and he started to strain his ears for more sounds. After a while the sounds of gun fire stopped.

"Excuse me! But whoever is in there, please come out!... Hello?... ... Hello!... ... ... ... HELLO-OOO!?! Alright then..."

There was no waiting, no time to do anything, a medium sized hole appeared almost dead center of the earth wall, and standing there was an Asian kid about the same size and height as himself, with shoulder length brown hair.

"Hiya! You and me need to talk"

The first thing that came to the young earth movers mind was that he was about to get attacked by this kid or that he was not welcome here - so as an attempt to keep things peaceful he made the universal 'peace' sign and already cringing about what he was going to sound like:

"I come in peace. Take me to your leader.

Steve couldn't help himself... and lord knows he tried. But after about 5 seconds he burst out laughing and fell on his ass. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Oh my GOD! Is that really the only thing you could think of to say?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Oh, MAN! I needed that! Whoo!" He finally managed to calm down and looked at the kid with a massive grin on his face "So you want to be taken to our...*snicker*... eh-hem.... leader, eh? Alright then, come on. Just a head's up though, we're in a bit of a crisis... okay a major crisis" Steve warned the kid and extended his hand in friendship "By the by, what's your name, Kid?"

It had worked, the kid had broke into a smile and was laughing a bit - at least it had worked at diffusing the tension that was undoubtedly been created;

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Oh my GOD! Is that really the only thing you could think of to say?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Oh, MAN! I needed that! Whoo!"

Alex smiled again waiting for the kid to calm down a bit - which happened quickly.

So you want to be taken to our...*snicker*... eh-hem.... leader, eh? Alright then, come on. Just a head's up though, we're in a bit of a crisis... okay a major crisis

"Yes - I want to see your leader." It was hard to keep a straight face - but Alex managed it but things took a bit of a turn for the worse when he mentioned a major crisis.

"Major Crisis? Whats going on then?" then catching the kids last question - "Alex Freeman, and yours?"

Alex stood up waiting for his greeter to take him to were Alex wanted to go.

Steve put his hand down as Alex got to his feet, his smile fading as recent events flooded back into his mind, including a certain redhead. "My name's Stephen. You can call me Steve though. My code name is Raiix" with those words, he turned back towards the entrance to the bunker, Alex following behind. In no time at all, they were standing at the hidden entrance. "As for the crisis... something... or someone has caused a lot of kids to turn partly immaterial. Be it certain body parts or even half a body..." Steve face hardened at remembering seeing Sarina halfway through a wall and helpless. The first time he'd ever seen her like that. "... kids are scared right now, so don't be surprised if things are hectic right now" He softened his face and gave as best a smile as he could to Alex "You're quite lucky to have not been caught up in... whatever it is that's doing this. Now where is my comm... oh, come on! Did I lose it again? Ah, jeez. Well, whatever. Stand back a bit." he told Alex, as he held his hand out to the current powering the door. In a blink he was on the other side, untangling himself from the control pad. "Ugh, I gotta work on that" Steve said to himself, unlocking and opening the ground for Alex to come in (I'm gonna assume the entrance is underground because that makes sense for a bunker. PM me if I'm wrong).

"I bid you welcome, young Master Alex, to the lair of the X-Men... kinda... more like a back-up lair... for those who still wanna be X-Men... I think... I don't know, I've been in a coma for the past week" Steve said, trying to keep the boy's spirits up. He may not know him, but if he was in his shoes he'd be a little scared after what Steve had told him. Alex came down the ramp, and Steve started leading him through the twists and turns to the gymnasium, where he'd last seen Beast... and hoped he was still there so he could drop Alex with him and get back to helping others... the sooner he did that, the sooner he could check up on Sarina. And not just her, Steve was also worried about Heidi and Caleb... he hadn't seen hide nor hair of them since he'd woken up. Were they even alive? No... they had to be...

"Split up. I'll cover from the camera shop down. You cover the east."
"Lookie here, boys! Looks like we have ourselves a human."
"Actually, I'm a mutant, but I'm sure you'll find that out if you take a step closer."

"Freeze! This is the MRD."
"Demo! Blow those bastards up!"

Heidi awoke. She was on the ground. Around her were the bodies of all the mutants and MRD who killed each other here. Only she was alive, because unlike the others, she tried to run. Her ears were bleeding, and everything was quiet. Her hearing should hopefully return. Right now, she needed to head to the rest of the X-men, and regroup. Maybe then she'd find out what was going on there.
Her hearing had not returned by the time the taxi dropped her off close to the bunker. She walked the rest of the way so as not to attract attention to it. She was worried about a lot of things, but the first thing she was going to do when she had access to the labs was diagnose herself for any damage caused by that blast. She keyed in the code she knew and red lights began to flash.

Urgh, of course they'd changed it...

As Alex took the other boys hand, Steve he had called himself, Alex stood and then left the alcove following Steve across the lawns (this time the guns did not attack them) and proceeded down a set of stairs and into the bunker. They got to a door and the other boy began trying to find something in one of his pockets but coming up empty and in the end decided to do something to make the door open.

"Is that your power Steve? Opening locked doors with out a key?"

Alex said with a half smile, hoping not to offend his guide.
It was almost like an underground maze, full of twists and turns but from the inside you would of been unable to tell it was underground (apart from perhaps, the lack of windows). As the two boys walked Steve began to talk about the situation that was currently on going.

As Steve mentioned about something/one turning people part immaterial Alex visibly cringed as thoughts about people sticking out of walls and other assorted things made him shudder - hopefully Steve would not notice this. To rid himself of these not so comfortable thoughts Alex's mind turned to the current leader/head of this place.

"Whats the boss guy like Steve?"

Steve and Alex were turning the last corner to the gym when the kid decided to speak "Hmm? Dr. McCoy? He's... well. He's real nice and friendly. Very understanding. Highly intelligent. Like super-smart. And he's also very charismatic. Great qualities in a leader. Now with that in mind. He's also big, blue, furry, and downright terrifying in a fight. We call him Beast for a reason, ya know" Steve finished with a wink... until an alarm started going off, which if memory served him correctly, meant that "Someone's trying to get in with the wrong passcode... dammit. Jeez, I feel like a taxi today. Listen, Alex, the gym is right there..." Steve pointed to the door "I last saw Beast in there. Remember, he's big, blue, and furry. Not that hard to miss. Talk to him, let him know I let you in. If he's not there, then just wait. I'll be back after I take care of this new issue". And with that, Steve backed up from Alex, held his hand up the ceiling, and arced into it.

Steve chose a turret that had been destroyed in the attack a week ago for his exit point, not wanting to reactivate the still wonky ones and have to go through that again. Carefully and quietly he made his way towards the bunker entrance, but was unable to see who was at the keypad... wait keypad? 'Oh, sonuvabitch! When did they install that?! I could've used my code to open the damn door. Ugh, whatever' he thought to himself, frustrated at this new evidence that he clearly wasn't fully recovered from his coma yet. But disregarding that for now, he lay on the ground and crawled to the entrance. 'Okay, ready... one... two... three!!' and he jumped out, ready to blast whoever was there to kingdom come. Except he recognized the figure standing there "Heidi?! HEIDI!!!!" He shouted, glomping his friend from behind... and probably freaking her the hell out...

Heidi sighed as she looked up at the flashing light. She stayed absolutely still, no doubt there'd be someone come to investigate the 'threat'. Of course, with her newfound lack of hearing meant that she didn't hear Steve sneaking up on her, or shouting her name, so when she was glomped, she let out a yell and pulled off a flawless pin reversal. It was only when she had already elbowed him in the stomach, turned around and grabbed his wrist did she see his face.

"...Steve?"

She let him go, and her smile grew. which then turned to a nervous, sheepish, embarrassed one.

"Oh, sorry about that...Um, I think I set the alarm off. The codes and code rotations must have been changed."

Looking at Heidi, Steve would notice her black sweater and jeans were dusty and torn, her skin was dirty, and there was blood on her ears and neck, making it obvious that her ears had been bleeding.

Steve coughed, holding his stomach, definitely not excepting the elbow. For a quick second he wondered why she didn't hear him. He practically shouted in her ear. But then again, that siren was pretty loud. Before he did anything else he punched in the emergency alarm shut-off code (luckily, THAT usually stayed the same) which also opened the door, before he turned to Heidi. "Don't worry *cough, cough* about. I might've done the same. But that's not important! How are... you?" Steve's grin faded fast at what he saw "My god! Are you alright, what the hell happened!?" He had just now taken his first good look at his friend... and she looked like hell. Her clothes were dirty and ripped, and she had dried blood trailing out her ears. That only meant one thing. "My god. Your eardrums were ruptured. You can't even hear me, can you? That's why the siren didn't even bother you. Can you at least read my lips? You always were the smartest of us" Steve prattled off question after question. He couldn't help himself, he had to know everything. But there was also something else that was bothering him "Where's Caleb?"...
