Alexander
The smell of coffee filled the small kitchen; it was well appointed, and actually rather large considering its position sixteen floors up. Alexander finished stirring the coffee, he favoured it strong, black, and without sugar. There was no point in diluting the finer things in life as far as he was concerned, or in diluting anything at all frankly.
It was a nice apartment, in a wealthy area of town. There had been a uniformed man at the desk, complete with golden buttons and old fashioned hat. There had been marble in the lobby, and the apartment he was in now was spacious, well furnished, and had an impressive view from the bedroom, not that his mind had been on the sights out of the window.
He’d arrived in town last night in an expensive car that wasn’t his, and strolled into an exclusive club to find some company for the night. It hadn’t taken long, he was attractive, and he knew it, and he had the air of danger about him that drew thrill-seeking women like a moth to a flame. The girl in the bedroom was one such woman. This was her apartment. The doorman hadn’t looked entirely surprised as they’d gone past arm in arm, and he had judged that this wasn’t the first time she had brought a total stranger back. Unfortunately, it would be the last.
“Come back to bed Alexander.”
He grabbed the cup, just the one, and padded back towards the bedroom.
“Sure.”
On his way, he slid the knife from the kitchen side and held it, ready, behind his back.
