Haru was eating casually, listening to this girls hobbies, one of those people who practiced in fighting with swords or fists. She herself was just raw power since she was used to hard labor. Only experiencing a few brawls at school and even pointing a gun on some stranger on her land. Otherwise, her fighting wasn't really precise... It still hurt if she punched someone though. Was easy to tell with her firm handshake. Though she highly doubted she would need to do such things here, though she probably would have to attend some sport to keep in shape. Didn't want to get all soft when she went back home after all.
As Regan seemed to scold her on proper Japanese formality and once again calling her by last name. Her fists clenched tightly, anger slowly raising in her chest before she forced herself to calm, her blue eyes sharp now. "Ma'am." she started, her voice firm and suddenly harsh and said the word in a cold yet polite manner. "Ah'm not some idiot like many of y'all think. Be mighty ill prepared if ah came here not knowing the customs. Ah don't care what y'all call me as long it isn't mah last name. If you must you can call me by mah Ma's last name King-San. But mah Pa's name isn't for anyone to say lightly." she said before standing up with her empty tray.
"Pardon, Ma'am. Gotta put this back." Haru said before briskly walking out. She didn't mean to sound harsh and she knew it really wasn't the girl's fault. But she always hated being called by her last name since her father died. Legally, she didn't have money to change it either... No point in it since fifty bucks can be used to get food.
It was one of the many reasons she didn't want to come here because Japanese were much harder to make them stop. Back at home, folks may greet with the last name, but quickly switched to first. Especially her since they found it hard to say her fathers last name. Haru was pretty simple, just four letters and sounds like it looks.
Muttering to herself, her muscular tall body treat her out as she cooled her head.
