Private Durandal

Regan produced a cloth to wipe her sword clean before sheathing it and recovering the enemy lances. She was already planning how to fire on the enemy armor below when Jatmoore motioned a huddle. When she said to fire on the tanks, she only smiled. The lances from the three lancers in the room were already in a row by the window, waiting to be shot. Well, two were. One had been fired, but she found a lancer round laying about. The soldier was probably reloading when they surprised them. They just had to load it, if they even needed it. The idea was not to need it...

She would take a position out of sight by the window, peeking out to assess the position of the enemy tanks. The lancer took a moment to focus, taking a breath and readying her body for the action. Almost meticulously, she would grab the first lance, exhaling slowly, and with a sharp inhale, as Jatmoore completed her countdown, Private Durandal would begin. Plucking the first lance from the ground, she'd prop herself in the window and aim carefully but quickly, to fire on the closer tank. She'd put the lance back down and grab the next one. She had to get the second shot off before the enemy had time to react. She quickly propped herself in the window again and fired down on the second tank, though she had ducked back too quickly to see if the last one got taken out.

The Lancer would gather the third lance and its round and load them as she moved some windows over. With a quick peek, she saw that both tanks were out, which was good. She lobbed a grenade at a gathering of enemies and laid low for a second, taking the moment to grab her own lance. Just as she did, she heard Jatmoore bark her order. With a new pep in her step, the Lancer ran back to the window. Yellow house? She sets down her own lance for the Imperial model and fires on the wall of the building, to expose its occupants, before picking up her mortar lance and firing a follow-up round into the exposed interior. And then she'd duck back into cover.

He moved like a machine, letting off one shot after another, ducking down every shot or two. Bullets flew passed him, and before he knew it, every Imperial was dead. More than a few were from his own rifle, and not for the first time was he a bit perturbed at how easy it was for him to gun someone down. Colins chuckled uneasily at the realization that everything seemed to be going smoothly at the moment.

Corporal Hunt tapped his shoulder and told him to follow him to the first floor, and Collins nodded quickly, watching his comrade's flank as they descended and moved forward. He hadn't felt this accomplished in months. The orders to clear the forward barricades were welcomes ones at that. He reloaded as they moved out of the building, hefting his rifle and readying his next shot.

Lilly Jatmoore & PFC Snider

What?! Lilly's eyes went as wide as saucers for a moment as she ducked around a corner and covered her mouth. She never spoke like that and very rarely swore, what had gotten into her? After Private Durandal had dealt with the house they had been allowed a brief moment of (sort of) calm where no one was returning fire specifically at them, and that calm allowed Lilly to realize what she had just said. Just calm down. Keep shooting. Keep fighting. You can do this.

A few minutes later, Hunt's orders came over the radio and Lilly took a moment to compose herself before relaying them to the group. "Good job everyone, Mr. Hunt's fire team will be joining us shortly. We'll meet them at the intersection in 5 minutes. If your areas are clear, you can make your way downstairs." Lilly took a brief look out her window, making sure that the Imperials had retreated well past where she could fire on them, before descending the stairs and standing guard beside the door leading out to the main streets.

***

"Alright! Onwards!" As Snider piloted the tank further down the main road, it's machine guns and cannon made short work of the few remaining imperials who dared to stand and fight. When they passed Corporal Hunt's house, Snider radioed them. "Corporal Hunt, we'll act as a shield for you as we advance. There shouldn't be too many lancers left alive, so you can use our tank for cover in the streets." He slowed the tank down to a walking speed so that the infantry could keep up, though he actually couldn't tell if they had taken him up on his offer or not. Everyone's eyes facing forward and the hatch being closed meant that the tank's ability to see behind it was non-existent.

At the intersection, the Gallian defenders had pushed up to the tank traps and sand bags, and were trading shots with imperials at the command post two blocks down the street. The few retreating Imperials who survived had bolstered their numbers and were preventing the Gallians from safely advancing. When Snider pulled up beside the store on the corner, he stood up and opened the tank hatch. To their right, he saw Lilly's fire team come out of the building to meet them and a small handful of soldiers emerge from the buildings to their left. He didn't recognize any of them, so they must be Charlie section.

When everyone had gathered together, he shouted down to Hunt. "Alright, corporal, what's the plan? With the imp tanks gone, I can probably advance unhindered in an attack now."

***

Lilly let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding. No one from Hunt's fire team seemed to be injured, and the group of soldiers joining them seemed to be in likewise condition. Phew. She had met a few close encounters with enemy bullets, but she was overjoyed that so far no one had been injured. Thank the Valkyur. As the groups began to organize, Lilly gathered with the rest of her team as they waited for Hunt's orders.

Corporal James Hunt|Battle for Vasel

@Everyone

James had been firing from behind a mailbox while Fairglaive, Colins, and Rousseau fired from their own pieces of cover. The Imps were in full retreat and if they didn't get shot from behind, the got shot in the face and chest when they turned around to try and provide cover fire of any kind for their retreating fellows. "Say hello to the Valkyrur for me you Imp bastards!" He had to duck a flurry of responding SMG fire, but the owner find himself choking on blood from a round fired by Colins. When Snider moved up beside them and offered to provide mobile cover, he waved his team over behind the tank and followed the tank to the intersection, continuing to fire when he could.

A few minutes later, the tank stopped at the intersection and all the soldiers now under James's command hurried to his position. Let's not get anyone killed, Hunt. All these soldiers are going to come home from today's battle. With a deep breath, he started lining out the idea he'd come up with once the Imperial tanks had gone down. "Snider, I want you to hold position for a bit and lay down some covering fire. And, in the process if you can, don't leave them any thing to hide behind. Jatmoore, flank left with your fire team, have Durandal drop lances on them with that mortar lance of hers until you find a spot that leaves them exposed to your fire. Charlie Section," he turns to the group that had come from the opposite side, "flank right, same idea, minus the lance. If you got grenades though, let the bastards have it. Once you two are in position, let me know. Snider, at that point we're going to move up the middle and close the Imps between all of us. Any objections?"

Charlie Section:
PFC Fenrir Cheslock / Private Smythe

Still catching his breath from his impromptu wrestling match, Cheslock assembled alongside the rest of Charlie Section, as the reinforcements gathered around Gallian tank. He fumbled through his equipment to make sure he still had his hatchet, knife, machine-gun, and spare ammunition. Everything was accounted for, as the tank's hatch swung open, revealing another first-class Private.

“Who's the armour?” he whispered to Smythe.

“Snider. He's damn good.”

Fenrir nodded in recognition.

Walking around the base of the tank was Corporal Hunt, the highest-ranking officer currently present, and Cheslock knew to keep his posture as straight as possible while the Corporal was around.
The tank-driver shouted down to the Corporal, asking for further orders, now that the enemy was in full retreat.

Addressing each section present, Hunt gave his orders. They were to perform a flanking attack from either side, surrounding and overwhelming the imp outpost.

“Any objections?” the Corporal barked.

“No, Corporal”, Charlie Section resounded in eager unison.

PFC Colin Nelson

Colin Nelson had survived thus far, and was fully intending to help everyone else do the same. He gave chase with the rest of the team, firing crackshots every now and then, shooting off limbs and heads with expert, if erratic precision. The young man fell in beside the rest of the team behind the Gallian Tank. He saw another private checking his ammo, and Crackshot did the same. He had gone through about a quarter of it, he would guess. Not so bad so far. His ears twitched at the sound of Corporal Hunt speaking. Colin almost felt a kinship with his superior officer now, having been taking out these Imps alongside him in a few short, albeit fierce minutes of combat. "So I just go up the middle once the plan is enacted with the rest?"

Private Durandal

Durandal had positioned herself away from the window, to let someone with a proper gun up, to fire on their retreating enemy. She loaded another mortar round to her lance, but found their role in combat had come to an interlude. She took the opportunity to steady herself; even years of her mother's martial arts training had not prepared her for war. Though she understood the skills she had to be lethal, they had been... studied... as a (albeit strict) form of art. An artist, not a warrior, though there were chunks of the latter that came as inseparable from the art itself.

Regan stopped her thoughts. She was about to become philosophical in a dangerous place. She finished cleaning her sword, sheathed it, and gathered her equipment to await rendezvous on the first floor. She found herself a Lilly. Something had happened to her squad leader's mentality during the fight. "Jatmoore," she approached slowly as she spoke, not wanting to potentially startle her, "holdin' up alright?"

It wasn't long before Hunt showed up, however. A quick rally later and they had new orders. As Regan moved to form up on Jatmoore, she took stock of her surroundings, and it struck that this used to be someone's home. People lived here...

Stay focused. She was becoming acutely aware of the mental strain she was enduring. Twice now, her mind had started to wander. However, with any luck, she could get rest enough to gather her thoughts after this battle. A good evening's meditation should fix what ails her.

Lilly Jatmoore

"I-I-I'm fine. It's just stress. Make sure you're ready for the next attack." Lilly's reply to Durandal was a bit more curt than she had intended, but she had so much on her mind right now that phrasing things properly was not high on her list of priorities. She was thinking. What should she do? Where should she go? How was the next attack going to work out? What if things went wrong? At least she wasn't responsible with inventing the plan. That part was taken care of when Mr. Hunt arrived and started issuing orders.

***

Once the briefing had been given, Lilly nodded and gathered the rest of her group. "I understand. T-team, please come with me." When they had all gathered, Lilly waited for a break in the firing and sprinted across the street into an alley that separated two houses and ran parallel to the street "P-Provided there are no objections, I think we should do the same thing as last time. We can follow this alley parallel to the main road and use it to get closer. Miss Durandal, we'll pause each time we reach a gap in the houses for you to fire your lance. Everyone else can stand guard or provide covering fire during this time." Lilly took a deep breath and steeled herself for more combat. Just one more. Just one more attack and everything should be fine. "We'll have to cross a small street at some point, but I don't think there will be anyone defending it. ...Does everyone understand? A-alright. Let's go."

***

By the time they had reached their first firing position, Snider and the rest of the Gallians had gotten the defenders' attention and were busy pouring on the fire. Lilly quickly poked her head around the corner to look onto the main street, noting the amount of machine gun fire both coming from and at the command post, as well as the fact that they had a clear shot at it from here. She waved Durandal over and pointed at the house it was located in. "Do you think you can hit that house from here, Miss Durandal? I would like you to try." While the girl got ready to fire, Lilly yelled to the rest of the team, trying to be heard over the machine gun and cannon fire. "Miss Sykora, guard the alley in case any imperials try to sneak up on us. Everyone else... COVERING FIRE!!!" With that, Lilly crouched beside Durandal and began firing her rifle at the windows of the house. Once the mortar lance went off, she quickly ducked back into cover, reloaded, and motioned for the rest of the team to continue moving. "Keep moving! To the next alley!" *static* Come on, Come on, Come on. They needed to move faster, hit harder, and shoot quicker. Each time they fired presented the Imperials with a chance to figure out where they were attacking from, but they needed to help at every chance they could get, lest the Gallian defenders back at the intersection take more unnecessary casualties. Needless to say, Lilly was a little bit antsy.

PFC Snider

"Alright, Corporal. We'll light 'em up for you." Whem the teams were dismissed, he climbed back to the tank's drivers seat. "Everyone ready? Lets kick some ass!" Once everyone had begun to move, he piloted the tank around the corner and had them assist the other Gallians firing at the Imperial's command post. "Neville, machine gun nest on the second floor. Put some shells through them! Fire!" *BOOM!*
@Zarkun
Lukas Glockner

"It's all connected, start it up!" Lukas motioned with his hands for the trio of recovery vehicles to begin attempting to haul the Siegfried back to base. A super-heavy tank of it's size was not an easy thing to pull, hence why they had two extra vehicles on hand. The metal groaned and the chains scraped, but after a few attempts, the towing vehicles managed to get the tank moving and on it's way back to base. Lukas himself was about to return with it, when Major Mooringstar addressed him. "Where do you think you're going, Lieutenant? I'm not done with you yet."

After getting chewed out for a few minutes, Lukas was given new orders. He was to be assigned to an artillery observation team working in tandem with a battery under the command of squad 655. This was the kind of assignment he absolutely hated: dangerous, on foot, and far away from his beloved machinery. Lynette certainly knew how to get back at him without diminishing her unit's abilities. Apparently they were going to support the Imperial forces fighting in the city. This was going to suck...

Lilly Jatmoore

The advance from launch site to launch site was surprisingly easy for Lilly's fire team. They encountered one or two scattered imperials, but were able to easily deal with them without taking casualties, and Durandal hadn't had much difficulty landing her shots. For a moment, Lilly allowed herself to believe that the final assault would follow this pattern and be relatively easy. This belief quickly shattered once they arrived at the edge of the intersection. When Lilly poked her head around the corner, she only got a brief glimpse of the house they were supposed to take before bullets started landing in the wall beside her and causing her to get back into cover. Despite the tank and Durandal's best efforts, the imperial defense was as lively as ever. Walls had been blown apart, and a portion of the roof had collapsed, but the imperials in the CP and the surrounding buildings were still holding stubbornly on, using the rubble as cover and continuing to provide fierce resistance. Scouts on the second floor were providing precision rifle fire, and the troopers on the ground level were laying down suppressing fire. Crossing the open yard and street ahead of them would be suicide normally, but a decision that Lilly had made long ago might be the key to their survival: she had brought smoke instead of fragmentation grenades with her for the operation. She had used one of them in the battle for the coach house, but the remaining one should provide enough concealment for them to make it most of the way across the street without being shot. Turning to her team, she took a deep breath and laid out the plan.

"Um... The street is completely covered by the Imperial troops but never the less, we need to cross it and take the house their commander is in. Hunt and Charlie sections' groups will no doubt be doing the same, so we can coordinate with them." Lilly took another peek around the corner, before ducking back as a bullet whizzed past her face. "I still have a smoke grenade on me, so we will use that to cover our advance. Hopefully the Imps won't manage to hit any of us when they can't see." Looking to each person as she assigned their tasks, she first spoke to Regan. "Miss Durandal, once I throw the smoke, I would like you to shoot the front wall of the house. It shouldn't be anymore than 10 meters away." Turning to the next, she addressed Brenna, who's smg was about to become invaluable. "Miss Sykora, the lance should blow open a hole in the wall large enough for us to get through. After she fires, I want you to run straight to it. If its large enough, go straight through the hole and begin to clear the house. If not, fire through the windows and try to kill the machine gunners." That just left the Aria and Private Weber. "Miss Hexner, Mr. Weber, the two of you will come with me. We will support Miss Sykora and clear rooms after the first. Miss Durandal, I would like you to follow us. We will keep you safe from infantry, and try to get you into a position to fire on the other houses." Phew... Lilly took a deep breath. Just breath. Everything will be fine. She quickly radioed the plan to Hunt and Snider, so they would know about the smoke and the planned movements for her team. Once she was done, she calmed herself and retrieved the grenade from her pouch.

"Is everyone ready? Alright." She pulled the pin on her smoke grenade, leaned around the house and threw it as hard as she could. It hit the house, bounced a meter or two back, and then began spewing smoke. "Ok everyone, wait for the smoke and... GO! GO! GO! DURANDAL, FIRE!" She waited a split second for the lance to go off, and to allow Sykora to get ahead of them, before charging into the smoke with the rest of the team in tow.
@Evil Snowman @Shyla Nesthorn @CirusArvennicus

Lukas Glockner

While the rest of his unit was on the way back to base, Lukas was sitting in the passenger seat of an Imperial staff car, listening on the radio and observing a map as he was driven to his new assignment at the artillery forward observation post. Suddenly requests for support began to come over the radio, as well as contact and status reports. Something big was going on... As he listened in, he plotted the positions being listed off on the map. ... All around their last command post in the city. Apparently the Gallians had begin a counter attack, and were doing... far too well. They must have gotten reinforcements. Switching the channel to the one his battery was on (since squad 655 was not part of the artillery network that answered the usual calls for fire), he radioed the gunners. "55A, this is Glockner. Fire for effect. Mechanized infantry in the open. 3 rounds per gun, High Explosive. Grid NB432789, Danger Close. Over." After a moment, the radio crackled to life as the gunners responded. "Mechanized Infantry in the open, 3 rounds High Explosive, Grid NB432789, Danger Close. Authentication is Whisky Hotel, please confirm. Over." "I authenticate Lima Foxtrot, Glockner Out." Off in the distance, the sound of artillery cannons firing began, causing Lukas to grin. They might not have been able to use their heavy tank, but at least they could provide fire support with the best guns the Imperial army had to offer.

PFC Snider

"Keep givin' it to them! We're moving up!" Snider's crew kept pouring on the fire as he slowly advanced the tank, suppressing windows and blowing holes in the upper stories of the houses. When Lilly's voice crackled over the radio, he listened to her plan and nodded. The smoke would certainly be helpful here. "Understood, Jatmoore, We'll move up to support you." Fortunately, the Imperials didn't seem to have any lancers left defending the house. They had either all been killed in the retreat, or were no longer in positions to pose any threat to them. When they arrived at the intersection just in front of the command post, Snider angled the tank and let his gunner do his work. "Alright, Neville, light them up!" They managed to get a few volleys of machine gun fire off while Lilly's team waited for the smoke to spread, but things quickly went to shit. Just as everyone started moving, a massive explosion rocked the tank, literally flipping it onto it's side. Snider was thrown out of his seat and tossed around like a rag doll, much like the rest of his crew, and nearly got knocked out. When the tank settled, looked around and tried to move. "zuhhhh... WhaThe hell wasthat?" To his right, he saw a massive stress fracture in the metal armour of the tank and the fact that they were now on their side meant something big had hit them. Behind him, his gunner and driver were both out cold. He had to get out of here. His head was ringing, and it felt like something was broken in his chest... but an impact like that might have caused a ragnoline leak. If that was true, it was only a matter of time before something exploded.

Snider crawled to the tank's radio and fumbled with it, trying to raise someone. "Corporalhunt. Someone... Anyone. ThisisSnider. Thetank is fucked. I can move but mycrewis asleep. The worldis... fuckin spinning. Weneed help. Someone gethem outof here before the ragnolai... in... aid.. thefuel explodes." Everything hurt and his head felt like it was in a vice. Snider could barely talk, but he managed to crawl over his crew to the hatch and get it open. Bullets were flying around him and ricocheting off the tank, but he had to get out. By some miracle, he managed to crawl out of the hatch and behind the tank without getting shot. He just hoped that someone would be able to help them.
@Zarkun @Jotunn Draugr

Lilly Jatmoore

Halfway across the street, Lilly heard a massive explosion and looked over to see an artillery shell demolish their light tank. Well not completely demolish, the armour was still mostly intact, but knock it out of the fight in a rather impressive manner by landing right beside it and flipping it over. She didn't have time to realize exactly what was going on, because a split second later, another shell landed several meters behind them. The explosion nearly knocked Lilly off balance, but the engineer behind her was thrown to the ground. Shit! She quickly doubled back to grab Hexner and help her to her feet if she was alright, or drag her to safety if she was wounded. They had to get off the street! If artillery was coming in and they were caught in the open, they'd all die!. "Are you alright, Aria?! We have to move! Everyone else, don't wait for us! Breach and clear! Kill them all!" *StaticStaticStatic* Come on Lilly, move! Your life depends on it! The SMG fire had stopped but the scouts on the floor above were still firing into the smoke. Lilly had several close calls with grazes that nearly drew blood, but thankfully she managed to make it to the house with Hexner without being hit. The delay of running to check on Hexner, as well as the smoke, prevented her from seeing if the other groups had made it to the house, though. All she knew was that her team was attacking, and prayed that people from the other sections had made it there to help.
@Evil Snowman @Shyla Nesthorn @CirusArvennicus

Brenna

Durandal's lance had certainly done it's job, and the hole it blew in the wall was easily big enough for Brenna to run through. Once she was in the room, she quickly shot the two shock troopers at the windows on either side, who had been dazed and wounded by the explosion, before pushing further into the house when more people caught up with her. Imperials were in just about every room, and they pulled no punches when firing from the doorways, throwing grenades or charging them whenever they were within melee range. The resistance only got stronger as they approached the back stairwell. The commander was probably on the second floor.
[@everyone]

Smythe & The Clark Twins

Meanwhile at Charlie section, the group was currently squatting inside a house on their side of the intersection, waiting for everyone to get into position for the attack on the CP. Needless to say, with three shock troopers, they were the fastest at clearing the houses on the way to their objective. When Lilly radioed her plan, Smythe turned up the volume on his radio so that everyone else could hear. "It's a good thing she has smoke, otherwise that crossing would be suicide. I don't have any objections to this plan." Sue and Joseph also nodded, with the former speaking up in agreement. "We shouldn't have any trouble, especially with the way Cheslock has been fighting. We'll need to move fast, though. They'll need every shock trooper they can get to clear that house." Smythe motioned to Cheslock and spoke again. "I'll stick with you for this battle. Valyrur knows I'm not cut out for close combat with this rifle."

When the attack began, he stayed true to his word and was right at Cheslock's side when they charged towards the smoke, right up until the artillery started landing. When the tank beside them got tossed, he froze and just stood there in the street for a moment, trying to process what to do. Should he help them? Should he keep running? Hunt's section should be the closest to them, right? His thoughts were quickly cut off when a stray bullet hit him in the side, cutting a deep (but not fatal) wound and knocking him to his knee from the pain. Fuck it! He ran as fast as he could towards the house, holding his rifle with one hand and his wound with the other. If it was him or Snider, he was going to take the path of self preservation!

Another artillery shell landed near the twins, missing Sue, but throwing Joseph several feet. Sue kept running, scrambling to get to the house as fast as she could, but Joseph was left laying in the dirt. He was clearly wounded, but still alive and was doing his best to crawl off the street and into cover. Who knew how long that state was going to last, though.

Corporal James Hunt|Battle of Vasel

James had been leading his fireteam behind the tank when he heard the telltale sound of artillery shells falling. And unfortunately, he had no way to warn Snider. "OFF THE STREET NOW!" He tackled the person next to him down and hoped the other two listened. He scrambled for a doorway and kicked it open, pulling his tackled fire team member inside. As the artillery rained down, he watched the tank flip and listened for something, anything, from it's commander and the others under his command. Soon enough, radio chatter came in and he frowned. Snider and his crew needed help, but he wasn't going to let any one else get hurt. "This is Corporal Hunt to all Gallian units that can hear me. Keep pressing the attack and stay in cover. I'll get our downed tanker and his crew." Rushing out at the end of his address, he scooped up Snider first and got him inside, realizing for the first time that the person he'd tackled was none other than Fairglaive. Thank the Valkyrur.

"Start patching him up, I'll be back." He ran back out, avoiding the artillery and getting blown up by the Valkyrur's grace only. Reaching the tank once more, he climbed inside and started working on freeing the other two tankers.

PFC Colin Nelson

Colin's world exploded, the fiery immolation and shudder of impact drove him into the ground a few feet away from where he had been standing not seconds earlier. He did his best to collect himself and follow Hunt and the rest into the building next to them. He gritted his teeth and let out a few yelps of pain. He nearly dropped his rifle, and needed to reload it. He began to do it methodically as the next events transpired.

Colin gave Hunt an unsteady salute as the Corporal went out to grab the Tank crew. "Come on, come on, come on," he breathed, fumbling for the bullets as he reloaded his gun too slow for his liking. A sudden and swift cocking action, and grasping the handle of the weapon just in time. Crack Crack. Two enemy soldiers that had been advancing upon the fallen tank were shot and killed.

Private Glaive

@Zarkun@POOHEAD189@Little_ninja

Alex was walking in formation with the other two, her hands clasped onto the claimed SMG tightly as she looked around for any ambushes. However how could she have possibly been on guard for steel rain falling from the sky, sending explosive death down onto their very location! Her ears picked up on the far off tell tale sound of cannons firing, but before she could even make a move she was suddenly tackled to the ground. This combined with the shell shock that rocked the very earth had her dazed for a moment, before she looked up towards James. A small blush had formed over her face from the embarrassment of having to be saved like that, though a glare was also clear as she waited for him to get off of her! "Enjoying yourself Corporal?" She asked before she soon got up after he got off of her.

Straightening her uniform she released the safety on her weapons and then dashed off after Hunt to the end of their address, kneeling down and covering him with some spraying fire down the street. The feeling of the imperial weapon in her hand was familiar, like it was just the right weapon to be holding... She knew why it was, the higher caliber and more kickback was something her body had built a resistance too, that was why she thought Galian weapons to be so light... Shaking her head she looked down to Snider and then nodded to Hunt "Understood." Moving into the near by building she would apply whatever first aid she could, though she was no medic that was for sure, she was designed to be a commando after all.

Grabbing a near by chair she set it up by the window facing the tank, using it to prop her leg so that she could give covering fire down the street without having to lean out too far for support. However of course someone had to try and be clever, as her eyes drifted to the glass of the window she could see a imperial sneaking across the street wall from the other building! The shelling meant that there was no need for knives and silence, so she fully expected a nade soon enough. Pulling back her gun as if she was reloading she readied herself, and sure enough he tried just that! Reaching out with both hands she gripped the hand attempting to peek from the side of the window and drop the explosive. Yanking it free from the unsuspecting hand she tossed it outside while at the same time she pulled the man right through the window using her toned and muscular figure! Drawing her pistol she shoved it into the mans mouth as she leaned down to him, glaring down to him intimidatingly as the nade exploded outside sending glass and shrapnel over her harmlessly. For a moment her finger twitched but... it took pause "Stay, there." Too scared to do much else, she went about stripping him down and wrapping his own belt around his wrists to bind him. With that she would go back to providing covering fire.

Private First Class Cecilia Rousseau

Following Hunt behind the tank, Cecilia heard the piercing cry of the artillery shots and instinctively dive rolled towards a building. After closing a lot of distance, and seeing Hunt kick open a door, Cecilia hurried in behind him. The thundering explosions of the artillery shots rung Cecilia's ears. The tank had been flipped, and requested for help. Hunt started by securing Snider. Cecilia started off with returning fire at some of the Imperials in the windows.

As Hunt went to help the other two members in the tank, Cecilia followed, providing fire cover. The artillery was still going, and the the shockwaves upon impact were making her feel unpleasant. The shots were still covering the general area they were in. "Oi Hunt! Can you hurry it up!?" Cecilia cried out, ducking behind the tank for cover, before appearing on the other side to shoot the Imps.

Private Durandal

Had her senses been dulled from all the gunfire? Had she let her guard down, letting an attacker sneak up on her? Or, perhaps, it was not something she could have perceived, after all? Whatever the reason, Regan found herself face-first in the dirt, pain radiating in her body. Her eyes rested on the armor protecting her wrist and forearm, and she felt thankful. But... what was she doing again? She was fighting... right. Recks and Houzer and Ladmour had reported in from scouting the last location for Imperial ambush. They were on their way back to base, and they hit a mine that hadn't been there before. Humiliating... they had been ambushed, when they specifically were looking for ambushes. All but herself had perished... Another squad picked her up, and here she was. She wasn't ready to die here.

"Nng..." Sword... check. Gun... check. Hokay. Time to get up She took a breath, carefully, and began to push her hand into the ground, rolling herself enough to one side to bring up a knee. She paused, catching her breath before she repeated with her other hand and leg, and then she pushed herself upright. "Aahg. Gah." Little more. With effort, she swung her mortar lance around and used it to push herself to her feet. She could hear Jatmoore... She followed the voice, pushing herself to relative safety where she would collapse. "Nnn..." She coughed a few times, ending with a bit of blood. "Ooh... that's... not good."

Lilly Jatmoore

When Lilly arrived at the house, the assault was already underway. Webber and Sykora had succeeded in clearing the main room, and were currently trading shots with the Imperials defending the rear hallway. She dragged Hexner over behind a table, and began checking her for injuries. The poor girl was shaken up and looked pretty out of it, but she didn't see any serious (or treatable) injuries. When their lancer stumbled through the door, it was quickly apparent that she had not been as fortunate despite her extra armour. "Miss Durandal!" Lilly rushed over to her as she collapsed, panicking. "Whats wrong?! Where are you hurt?!" She tried to remember the basic first aid training they had gotten and how she had treated the imperials back at the coach house as she examined her for wounds.

Durandal's armour had taken the majority of the blast it seemed, as the girl didn't have many deep cuts... but the sharp cries of pain she occationally got as she pressed on an arm, leg or rib indicated that all was definitely not well. The girl either had deep bruising or broken bones, and judging by her coughing up blood, some kind of internal bleeding as well. Oooh what to do?! What should she do? She tried using her ragnaid, bathing Durandal in it's healing blue light, but all it managed to do was help alleviate the pain and heal some of the cuts. Only engineers and medics carried the stronger radnaid capable of healing internal injuries. Wait, that was it! "Sorry, Miss Hexner, but we need your ragnaid!" The poor girl still seemed out of it, so Lilly rooted through the engineer's bag herself. Sure enough, there was a much larger charge of ragnaid packed away, which she quickly used to try to heal Durandal's internal injuries.

"Does that feel any better, Miss Durandal? Are you alright?" At the hall, the fighting intensified and Lilly didn't know if Sykora and Webber could hold back the rest of the imps in the house until the others got here without her help. She wanted to stay with Durandal and Hexner, who would still need time to recover (even if they weren't in immediate danger of dying), but she needed to help Webber and Sykora before they were overrun. A dead Imperial lay a short distance away from them, so Lilly hurried over to his corpse, looted his SMG and extra magazines and returned to where their two wounded were. "Here take this. Miss Hexner, Miss Durandal, please stay in cover. We'll get a proper medic to you shortly, just make sure no Imperials sneak up behind us." Before she returned to the hallway, she grabbed a spare grenade out of Hexner's pack. "Sorry, Miss Hexner, but I will need to use this."

Ok, Lilly... Focus. What's the plan? You're two soldiers down, and no one has come to assist yet... Another dozen bullets flew through the door, forcing Webber and Sykora back into cover. The Imperial attack was intensifying, and when she traded her own shots, she saw a few of them pushing up the hall towards them. They were getting too close! They needed to push them back! Lilly's pulse quickened and she quickly told her group the plan she had formulated. "O-ok! Listen to me, please! We need to push up and at least clear the closest room. Miss Sykora, do you still have a grenade? I am going to throw mine to f-force the imps into cover. Once I do, p-please use yours to clear the next room up. We need to keep the imperials away from the front hall. W-webber, when she is clearing the room, we'll cover her. Um... Does everyone understand? Alright..." Lilly whispered a quick prayer, charged her grenade, and threw it down the hallway towards the cluster of imps at the end. *KABOOM!* "That's it! ATTACK! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!!"

PFC Snider

Snider was cowering behind the tank, praying to the Valkyrur for deliverance as shells landed nearby. For an eternity, it seemed like he was going to die here, but his prayers were answered when Hunt came charging through the smoke and dust, to grab him by the collar and drag him across the street to cover. Old war stories were full of tales of soldiers dragging the wounded to cover, and the wounded almost always would be helping by shooting back at the enemy with their sidearm. There was none of that 'glory' to be had for the concussed, though. Snider's head was pounding, his ears were ringing, and his vision was so blurry he barely recognized Hunt when he came to save him. When they made it across the street and into the house, he managed to let out a weak "Thankzcorporal..." before slumping into a state of semi-consciousness from his wounds and concussion.

"That's it! Keep shooting! You're doing great, Sykora. Webber." The plan had worked well, and they managed to push up and clear the first room, and were currently trying to make their way to the second. During a brief pause in the firing, Lilly ducked into cover, and radioed Hunt. "Mr. Hunt! We've cleared half of the house's ground floor, but we need help. Durandal and Hexner are wounded and need a medic. We need more people if we want to take this-" An explosion echoed from the street outside, and Lilly remembered the tank being destroyed. She hadn't heard anything on the radio since the artillery came in. What if they had been caught in it too... What if... Control yourself, Lilly. He'll be fine. You've got to worry about your own team for now. Still, she had to ask. "... Take this house. ... What's your team's status? Do you have any wounded?"

Corporal James Hunt|Battle of Vasel

Rousseau's comment about hurrying up was never heard as James reached the first of the two crewmen, freeing his harness and pulling the man out and handing him off to Rousseau. "Get him back to the house, now!" Not waiting to see if his order was followed, he dove back into the tank for it's other crew member. The man's groaning eventually lead the Corporal to him, but he was in bad shape compared to the first. He had a piece of broken metal through his calf and a rather nasty gash across his forehead. No time for proper first aid. Unbuckling the man's harness was just as easy as the first's has been, but moving him took longer, Hunt having to be careful about the metal in the man's leg as to avoid moving it or getting it caught and ripping it out. He had just pulled him out, and was moving away from the tank when a round hit it directly, blowing it sky high and sending the Corporal and the man he'd rescued flying towards the house his fire team was holed up in.

For several seconds, neither of them moved, before Hunter finally hauled himself up with a groan and a wince. He could feel a couple pieces of shrapnel sticking out of his back and one his leg, but none of them were deep enough to cause serious damage. Retrieving the fallen tanker, he got him back to the house in time to hear Lilly over the radio. Approaching it as fast as he could, he picked it up.

"Corporal Hunt here, we're all good. I'm a little worse for wear from that last shell, but I'll be bringing my storm trooper and a scout soon. Hold that first floor. Out" Turning to his fire team, he takes note of their prisoner and glances at Fairglaive before shaking his head. "Alright, Fairglaive, patch these men up best you can. I'm taking Rousseau and Nelson across to that forward command to help secure it. And while you're at it, see if you can raise that group that was attached to us. Charlie Company I think it was."

Alex stared down the street as Hunt started to pull the wounded to the house, her SMg pointed down the way to make sure to cover them from any enemy attack. Though as soon as they were inside she lowered her weapon and watched as they finally got inside and set up, though she did notice that the guy she captured seemed to tick off the corporal. "What? He wanted to be captured... Look at that face, it just screams take advantage of me" As she said this the imp trooper let out a soft and muffled scream past the gag, though that only made Alex chuckle and shrug "See, he loves it." Though she now had the same job as before in being the companies make up medic...

"Sir, you do know my job is being a commando right?" She questioned, wondering if he had forgotten in all this chaos that she was in fact not the medic! "Haaa... fine though.. I will babysit the others while you go on the attack I guess..." Looking down to said others she gave them a blank look "No offense." She made sure to say before getting the med kit from before, checking the supplies and sighing softly, it seemed they were lucky none of the people here were too badly hurt otherwise they may have been in trouble. With that she adjusted her cap and went to trying to give the most basic treatment of the wounds that she could find "By the way, none of you are feeling like you are bleeding internally? That was some far after you ruined our tank heh." She joked of course, or tried too as she was lacking in that area but she had to do something to make sure they were calm.

PFC Colin Nelson

Colin had run down a bit of the ash covered timber floor to see if Private Glaive had her situation well taken care of. He'd known she was a Commando, but he knew that anything could happen on the battlefield. She looked fine that. He heard the tell tale yelling of PFC Rousseau in the distance. With that, he went back to his elevated position and laid down fire wherever he needed to, taking out another two men within half a minute of each other.

That was when the Tank exploded, the Private First Class now kind of worried that their corporal had been turned into fleshy shrapnel himself, until he heard him speak on the radio. "Phew!" Colin said, wiping his brow with the back of his hand. This was turning out to be one close save after another. Chik-crack! Another enemy fell to his rifle, and he reloaded methodically, keeping an eye out for more foes.

It looked like the coast was now clear however, and he was called down to where the group was gathered to hear what the next move was. "Got it." he said quickly, giving a salute to the Corporal and a steeled look. It was a bit comical on his youthful and often care free face. "No offense" he heard from Private Glaive, at her comment. He gave a lopsided smile and a shrug. "It's all good." His expression then turned to grim stone once more, and he hefted his Gallian-1 Rifle. He might need a re-supply soon.

Pvt Atlas Orville

Everything happened so fast. At one point, it felt like we had things well in hand. Now, the tides of turn with explosions, seemingly out of nowhere. Atlas has worked on tanks with his father a lot in his younger days and looking at the damage, it's clear to say that it would not be fit for battle anymore.

"Damn, Imps!" He mutters, under his breath before hearing a grunt of pain from Private Smythe.

Before he could he even ask what happened, he dashes off with his scoutly speed, making his way through the smoke and more than likely toward the house. He didnt even know where Fenrir Cheslock went in all the chaos. The Clark twins follows behind him, feeling the same urgency but an artillery shell impacts between the twins and Atlas. Instinctively, Atlas rolls behind some rudimentary cover and avoids the blast. After a few moments, he peers from his vantage point and his eyes spies Joseph on the ground, crawling to the right side to get out of the way. Atlas froze and his mind could not help but draw comparison to his own younger brother Victor. He steels himself, gripping his MAG, and dashes toward Joseph.

Sliding toward the fallen twin, he helps him up and carries him out of harms way. "I got ya, Joe. I got ya!"

"Atlas..." He struggles to speak.

The smoke still provided some cover, enough for Atlas to bring Joseph to a safer space. "Don't worry, i'll try and pro-"

"Forget about me! Follow Sue! Keep her safe!"

"But what about you?"

"I'll be fine!" He says while holding his sides. He didn't even have his weapon on him anymore and he is clearly not fine. "Just make sure, she's safe. GO!"

Atlas takes all of this in and takes a breath. He simply nods and stands up, turning on his heel and dashing behind Sue and Smythe. He didn't like leaving someone behind but he respects the want to protect family.
