Speaking of which, I'm going away for a while. Well, later in the month at least. I'll be gone for about a week to shoot French people at Waterloo including, amusingly, a skirmish at La Haye Sainte.

Weapons and Equipment: Goll, Engineer tools and anything a tank driver needs, plus more. Also a flask of booze.

Personality: Sig is a rather lax person with an easygoing, all forgiving disposition. He however, tries to be a man of honor and chivalry, and for that very reason he strives to make his word have the same weight as law. A bon vivant and rogue in his free time, he's more than often found partying with junior members or bringing ladies to his bunk. Sig has also a vivid interest for weaponry, much like a child always seeking new toys, and he can be quite focused on researching and repairing tanks, whom he affectively calls his "babies". Sig's loyalty is set on stone, both by his honor code and his loyalty to comrades in arms. However, he is also more than capable of talking back to superiors if they're being negligent or foul, a bad habit that has bit him in the back sometimes.

Bio:Sig hails from the Kingdom of Fhirald. Originally a middle-class child with a rather strong fascination for innovation and technology, he enlisted in the army as engineer, in order to eventually become a top researcher in his homeland. Unluckily for him, the hammer of EW1 struck Fhirald hard, and soon he was fielded as a tank officer while the world kept crashing down around himself. Nevertheless, Sig fought back with immense ferocity as his duty compelled him to do so, stubbornly clinging to what shreds of weaponry and men had at his disposal, and not surrendering until the entire kingdom did, earning himself the nickname "Dragon". After the war, Sig survived the purge by virtue of the courage displayed against overwhelming odds and his inventive and resourceful mind, and was soon incorporated in the Imperial army. Sig eventually reached the rank of Captain as well as earning himself a place among Imperial weapon researchers.

However, Sig's career was halted suddenly when he admonished a superior Imperial officer with a jaw-breaking punch for desecrating a war graveyard while drunk. Sigismund was demoted to a 2nd Lieutenant and Court Martialed. It was then when he caught the attention of the 655 squadron, who offered him a spot as tank driver, due to having an unique combination of militar background, honor and loyalty, and enough scientific background to perform research in the spot if it was deemed necessary.

Perfect, Sig is accepted. I'll put him in the 655 section. So far his interaction with Marcus has consisted of a kick to the shoulder, but post away. Once you and Raven have posted for that battle, it'll fade to black and they'll have a brief after-action chat before that side plot quietens down for a while.

@AtomicNut, accepted. Post her to the Char tab and post away. The squad is just getting to know a few new recruits after a briefing, so now is a good time for her to approach them.
@Willy Vereb, I plan to avoid the classes from VC2/3, mainly because that sets a dodgy precedent for magical musicians, men with uberhammers and other frankly weird things that don't quite fit in on a WWII-esque battlefield. That said, I'm not against your character having a sword.
Just prepare for every man and his dog to mock the living shit out of him and for it to be effectively useless anywhere but in (very) close urban combat. He will need to use a gun most of the time, or else he'll probably come up against the same problem that Japanese officers did in real life: charging bare-arsed at a man with a machine gun tends to get you dead. That said, Meulemann made it work to a degree, so I don't mind limited swordplay.

In other news, after 15 hours in hospital I feel a bit better. I'll try to post soon to prepare for the new arrivals, then my new post after that will timeskip us on to the mission.

First off, I'm glad you are better.

Second, while some classes are ridiculous and you can bet those are just game mechanics, VC wasn't really a pure WW2 setting to begin with.
If I have to say it crosses anime cliches with alternate WW2. Albeit this is even more obvious for the latter games.

Third, which I could've mentioned with the second. Anime cliches alo mean overized stuff, acrobatics and generally that soldiers in VC can be midly superhuman (or not so mildly, depending on your milleage). Carrying around 20+ kilogram water cooled SMGs is certainly not what we can do. VC1 soldiers already do. Same with certain classes wearing various bulky armors which actually do offer protection.

Yup, given how nobody else is a swordsman in this RP and how weird it is to do that in the age of guns I planned Kyo to be quite an oddball within his squad.
As for how he'd handle gunmen, it's up to his tactics and unique methods. His 60kg sword can effectively bash/slash through walls so there aren't many obstacles to prevent him. And he generally tries to not get shot via positioning and some acrobatics. The sheer fact you are ambushed with some crazy dude wielding a sword nearly as large as you can be often also terrifying enough. He isn't fit to deal with gunners on wide open terrain tough, of course.

On the other hand you sure don't need to worry about me destroying tanks alone. That kind of thing is beyond me.

Posted my CS in the characters page.
Chose the MAGS M1R because it's small and resilient. It may survive if Kyo decides to throw it as a weapon (because he may have better accuracy with that)
And well, he may like Meulemann's company because he can tell him tales about his father Kei's exploits.
Otherwise Kyo is rather distant with people now.
He could warm up in the future, though.

Oh and I if you haven't noticed, I also introduced a Man in Black NPC who is similarly an oriental swordsman who also killed Kyo's father in the past and took his family sword.I can elaborate on some details to him in PMs, if you want.
You don't really need to calculate with him much. Basically this would be my character's own bit of sub-plot.
