Kijani shrugged lightly at his question, wandering back in the direction of the cafeteria to talk with Connor. "Uh... it's been okay. Training and all that. Creating my own martial art. It's fun." She rubbed the back of her neck, just realizing she'd never had a long conversation with one of her classmates. Unless she counted Sue, but that was less talk about herself and more instruction about capoiera. "How's the engineering going? Blow anything up recently?"

(Five minutes until class time. It's still gym)
Ben hurriedly grabs a bowl of cereal from the cafeteria and scarfs it down on his way to the gym.

(Anthony's still waiting on a reply from Sue)

"Creating your own martial arts? Thats impressive" Connor said, grabbing some e food quickly, starting to eat. He seemed thoughtful at her question. "Just, uh, just really needed to adapt my suit. Been working on that, needed to make it taller. Just added a few extra links in" and now he was rambling, but couldnt seem to stoo himself, "I tend not to blow things up" he winced at this, rememnering he had fired at her in that first simulation. "Well, try anyway" he gkanced away, wishing he hadnt thought of that simulation,

"I like to build things, not destroy them" he quickly stuff some food in his mouth, cutting himself off.

Kijani nodded a bit, not realizing what she'd reminded him of. But she carried on talking, while mildly wondering how he could put away food like that... maybe it was a guy thing. "So I had this idea the other day during Mimic's class." She started to wind a dreadlock around her fingertip. "Paper, as a tool, as a lot of weaknesses, even when I'm using it. If it gets too wet, or it burns... well, it becomes pretty useless to me. I know it's more in the realm of chemistry, but... do you think some kind of protective laquer could be created to proof it? I figure I'd ask, you're the smart one." Well, him and Anthony, but Anthony was so arrogant that she'd hesitate to ask him for a glass of water in the desert. "Could you come up with something like that?"

Connor seemed to perk up at this "yeah, you can use this type of vanish, or ueah, lacquer to make it waterproof. It's old stuff, like from the 70s. That parts easily solved, making it waterproof. Making it fire proof, that's harder to do. Will take a while to find the right chemical construction to do that" he mused, already thinking on it. "I'll see if I can get some of the water proof stuff. I can probably come up with something" his voice sounded eager now.

"But" he said looking at her "it's your idea. So you have to help"

Austin chuckled, then began scarfing down his food. He was rather hungry. He nearly enhaled all of his food into his mouth at once, and he was nearly instantly done. He said," we're going to be late for class. Gym remember?" He looked at the two, wiping stuff out of his fur with a napkin.

Ryan looked at the clock. They had to get going soon. "We should get to the gym soon." He said. "I'll meet you there. I'll save a seat. " He said sprinting out. He appeared in the gym a few seconds later. He sat Dow to wait.

Jack looked around. "I think we need to head to the gym like now." He said hurrying off. "I'll meet you there!" He yelled behind d him. Once he got there he sat down and looked around. He wondered of anyone else would sit near him.

Phoebe had just grabbed her laptop, turned around and Ryan was gone. She blinked, before slinging her laptop over her shoulder, and jogging to the gym. She headed in

"Help? Me?" She looked surprised. Didn't geniuses like working alone? Though he already sounded like there were gears turning. "Sure, I- I guess. If you really want me to." She checked her watch. "Oh, crap. We'd better hurry. I hate being late... Come on." She snagged an apple and started off at a light run toward the gym. While she still didn't enjoy the class, she'd certainly made her peace with it. It helped that she was in better shape than she'd ever been in her life.

"Well, it's your idea. It's to help with your power, right? So yeah, sure you should be involved" Connor said, finishing his food, grabbing some water "come on" he said to Austin "let's go!"

Estella knew she was running out of time. Alright well you're a student here right? Gym is soon. Follow me. She couldn't make sure that Zach would follow. She had to run to make it to Gym on time.

Phoebe entered the gym, quickly finding Ryan and sitting down, setting her laptop down, looking about.

Ryan smiled as she say down. "Wonder what the Doc has planned for today? Something painful no doubt. " He mused. He sort of liked this class. A lot.

"Always does" Phoebe said, "but it's enjoyable" she said, smiling, "a challenge each day" she moved her laptop under the bench. "I like it"

Anthony finishes his breakfast and makes his way to the locker room to get changed out of his suit and into workout clothes. While walking to the locker room, he spots Sue quickly walking in the opposite direction. He greets her with a smile that would seem genuine, and says, "Hello Sue."

Sue’s march to leave the gym was halted by Anthony, the towering man who sported a winning, seductive smile. It had been a while since she really talked to him. They exchanged glances throughout the months that they were here but there were no real advances by him anymore, and in fact Sue never really felt anything for him. She viewed him as no more than a good friend and a greater ally, one who saved her life against the Hulk. It was a simulation, but he saved her. She owed him, but she was not going to repay him by being with him. If anything, she owed Jack even more, since he was the one that boosted her confidence in her stay in the Academy.

There was distance between them, so Sue did not have to arch back her neck as much. Nevertheless, she could never get used to the number of tall people in this school. The walkway where they stood had people walking in and out, but no one cared to look at them.

Sue did not really want to be bothered to say anything if Anthony was the one that was insisting on being awkward about them being friends. So Sue waved at him.

Announcement

The PA system announces, "Attention students, first class begins in 30 minutes."

She looked up to see where the announcement had come from, then looked back at Anthony, gesturing him to come along, onwards to the gym.

She walked away from him, before she saw a response from him. It’s not that Sue stopped caring for him, friend-sake, it’s just him. She felt as though he was making things hard, but Sue kept on by being her normal self.

She got to the bleachers, her earmuffs on, with her workout clothes that were basically home, indoor clothes, and intently stretched. After PE, she’d have to make a quick run to her dorm to get her things for the next class – she liked it better now. She’d discussed it with the principal and she was now allowed to stay in the girls’ dormitories though with the stipulation that she reside at the highest floor with her anechoic design.

As Anthony follows Sue to the gym, a war rages in his mind between his cold, calculating side and his less developed, emotional side. As usual, the side rule by logic prevailed, and he walked quickly to catch up with Sue. With his legs being so much longer than hers, within a few strides, the gap between them had disappeared. He slips a note into her hand, and with another smile, he leaves her behind as he goes to sit next to Ben.

The note simply says, "There's something I want to talk to you about. Meet me after class."

Professor McCoy enters the gym and smiles when he sees that all of his students are on time. He says happily, "Well guys, I was going to make today just strength training, but since you're all here on time, let's do something else. Dodgeball anyone?" He closes his eyes and points to three random people which happen to be Connor, Sue, and Kijani, then continues with his eyes open, "You three are captains, so pick your teammates two at a time. Winner of the first round faces off against the third team. Remember, no use of equipment or powers. That means no suit for you Stark, no spider powers for the Parkers, no superspeed to Ryan, no animal forms, and no telepathy or sonic attacks, etc., etc. Am I clear? Begin" While he waits for the captains to pick their teams, he beings to line up the dodgeballs along the middle of the gym.

(each captain may pick five teammates)

Estella raises her hand to speak. How will I communicate with my team? she'd gotten a lot better about how she projected her thoughts. Now when speaking normally she tried to emulate how sound would travel, so that only people around her would get the message. Reading mind a wasn't as much a problem since learning how English sounded.

Professor McCoy smiles apologetically and says, "I'm sorry dear, I forgot that you're telepathic. You may communicate mentally."
