Name: Leonce 'Leon' ArmisteadAge: 17
Personality:Leonce is a lover. Outside of a fight, he is almost unrecognizable to those that have fought him. In social situations Leonce lives to find connections with those around him. He's a social butterfly of sorts who remembers every name and usually everything he learns about people, his brain having been lucky enough to be wired for social interaction. Leonce is aware of how his talking someone's ear off can be a negative and tries to form conversations with people and let them do most of the talking (something that has led to him mastering the technique of nodding and going "mhmm"). He's slow to make decisions, wanting to weigh every side of every argument and make sure that whatever he chooses is the best possible decision for every situation. Leonce wants nothing more than to make friends and enjoy life with those around him, always being willing to go an extra mile to put a smile on someone's face. To those less intimate with him, he often appears to be a man of endless smiles and stamina, always ready and willing to turn it up to 11 for every occasion and always ready to offer a helping hand, a smile, or a joke.
Leonce is a fighter. If ever he feels his life is in danger or that the life of another is in danger, all bets are off. Leonce is willing to go to any length to ensure that those who seek to harm others never harm another once he's done with them. In a fight Leonce makes snap decisions and lets go of his inhibitions, ready to do anything at a moments notice, and if the only way to win a fight is to put himself at risk, he will seize the opportunity and dig in his teeth.
Battle-Style: Mid-Close-ranged gunslinger. Mobility and firepower are everything with Leonce, and he would much rather have little armour and lightning quick reflexes than be a bulky bullseye. He has a preference to ammunition over plasma or alternative based weapons, the feedback of rounds giving him a much better sense of where to aim, plus there's just something about the sound that makes it feel
right. When he gets in close to targets, he'll make use of his rifle's bayonet which is typically attached to his Framework's hip and use it to either force a target to stay still and take a barrage of gunfire or break open armour to find a soft spot.
Hospitalized Deceased Special One:Leonce's adoptive mother, Julia Einhard, a framework pilot, was killed several months prior to his being selected to become a Framework pilot. Leonce had always had a strong relationship with his mother and would frequently communicate with her, having even spoken with her a few hours prior to her death. The loss devastated him and cause him to withdraw from society for a while. His mother became a touchy topic that he often refuses to speak about, even to some of his closest friends.
Background:All that remains of Leonce's birth parents is his surname Armistead. Both suffered an untimely death during the Cruxi invasion of an outer world. Leonce was no older than six at the time and had priority among the ships that were fleeing the planet, his parents being left behind to board a later ship. That ship never came. The rescue shuttle boarded the carrier Tetsuba where a temporary refugee camp had been set up as survivors were gathered and shipped off to a safer planet. It was there that Leonce met Julia Einhard, the woman that would go on to adopt him.
There was little mothering she could do for him with her being a framework pilot, but she did her best to make it work. He had a safe home on Earth, nearly as far from the fighting as he could get, a rotating group of caretakers, and frequent access to long distance communication with her. Julia would tell him of her fighting the Cruxi, of how she piloted the framework, where she was, and the general stuff a mother and son would shoot the shit about. Leonce, despite his tragic loss, had a relatively happy childhood as the adopted son of Julia, and a relatively safe life on Earth. Both were more than he could ever ask for and he was acutely aware of how few people had such luxuries.
Years passed by in the blink of an eye and Leonce found himself a young teen, popular among his peers, well liked, and very happy with his life. Leonce tried a flurry of designer drugs and liquor and found that he hated them both. He found his joys in more alternative routes, getting his first tattoo on his neck at 16, his first piercings shortly after, and the complete remake of his appearance followed suit. He had found an exciting new appearance and was quickly pulled into the culture of alternative appearances when the news of Julia's death reached him.
Leonce disappeared for what seemed like months, filled with grief at the loss of his mother and the memories of the loss of his parents that was brought along with it. Leonce's reappearance into the social world was his last. It's a blur in his mind, though from what he's been told he had been stabbed in the chest three times before stealing the knife from his attacker and beating the man until his face was unrecognizable. The military showed arrived in his ward shortly after that. Something about his medical charts seemed to tip them off that he might have potential to become a framework pilot. Leonce didn't complain.
Other things: Leonce is a big fan of tattoos, piercings, and hair dye, all of which he is constantly on the lookout for more of.
