Hrm, trees wont be a problem?
I meant for the sake of taking off again. Also, while not superhuman Alaira's senses are very, very keen. She doesn't have night-vision, but she can see pretty well.
It's a little bit before high noon. You spent most of the early morning traveling (Let's say sixish to ten?), spent an hour searching, and now it's about eleven in the morning. So yeah, still daylight. The ravine entrance however is entirely voided of light. The light from the entrance is hardly enough to illuminate the underground area. Makes sense, giving what lives down there.

Unless she can rely solely on scent or hearing in a small enclosed underground area, your visibility is next to none if you don't bring your own lightsource.
Novice~
Charging Energies is most dominated here. Novices can easily tap into their own energy source and manipulate it with some effort and focus. They can light a spark on their fingers and hold charge for several minutes, anything that touches them is instantly shock with the voltage that a single Taser hit has before charge dies after one used. It requires another charge build up afterwards and after several, a novice will be left exhausted. They can send a small current, for a brief moment, through a metal weapon or item usually strong enough to cause the enemy to drop it or become temporarily immobilized. EIS can be also be used, for a few minutes, out to about 2 feet radius from user. Small light can be illuminating only a small area from their hand when held.
I don't think Lyn ever gave anyone the Ethers. Nor has anyone really bothered to look, so I'm sure that Lyn still has them.
As for the lighting I suppose I'm fine with that, it's just that if you don't take out the guards up top stealthily the robed man in the ravine would let the feral ghouls out of their cages. They are too sensitive to sunlight so they won't leave the ravine, but they have no problems detecting enemies in the dark. Though with the amount of light that Alaira can emit, she'd at best be able to see about five or so feet in front of her before the darkness consumes the rest of the light. Though if she's willing to try it, she could also create a flash of light strong enough to illuminate the room for a few seconds, which would definitely be enough to stun the ghouls (Light sensitive and all that).
