I am a light in the darkness, and as the darkness grows, my light shines ever brighter. What hides in the darkness fears the light, and cannot touch it, while the darkest shadows can be eradicated through light's love and kindness, and for those who stand against I will embrace them as well, that they will know they are not stuck on their current path. Should they pull me into their oblivion so that I am no longer able to be seen, then let me be a martyr.

But just as the dark will confront my light, another light will confront the dark in the never ending cycle.

There is a refuge in the darkness, one which grows strength in diversity! You would breed weakness unto others, let them become unknown to death, nor known to life. Your light will expose only their flaws and weaknesses, damanding them, approving them as if they were acceptable! But the darkness will not accept such things. Strength and freedom must be earn, not given nor taken at the behest of others. there is power in darkness, where one faces their inner evils and destroys it by their own hands, than to let their suffering and weakness known for all to judge and witness.

When one searches for something without knowing what it truly is, a pure intent becomes corrupt as in the case of your warrior. Who says there is no diversity in the light? From the dimmest candle to the brightest stars in the sky, every light is it's own story of hope and struggle. While the light may reveal our flaws, it reveals the good things in us as well. If you hide from your flaws, how can you ever grow past them?

Darkness is a sanctuary. There are mortals of sin and evil who knows they will be cut down if their crimes are left in the light. Do not deny that there are not those amongst your flock who would sooner execute the sinful than to offer them penance! There are some secrets that cannot be revealed to the world, like bodies hidden beneath the cloth. The darkness blankets them, protects them, and allows solitary reflection instead of constant judgement.

Now chose your champion, slave of the light! Let us see if your mercy can extend to the sins and evils who will DO. YOU. HARM!

Darkness is a sanctuary, for cowards. Those who wallow in the darkness in fear of the light have never been shown true light, and never will unless they seek it for themselves, for they wander the same twilight as those who are misguided enough to attack one who could be saved.

I will not deny that there will always be some who claim to stand on the side of light, but do not truly embrace its ways and will try to kill those who are in the darkness. The truth of that is however, that they belong to the twilight between light and dark, and will never be able to commit to one side due to the illusion they have created for themselves. If those who hide in the darkness would come forward and embrace true light, the light would accept and forgive them that they would be reborn anew, bright as a star.

The darkness protects them? Instead of constant judgement from others, the 'solitary reflection' you force upon them causes them to judge themselves! Those who are trapped by their fears or their misguided beliefs in the darkness have no friend other than the light to show them hope. Those who judge themselves often find that they no longer have a will to live, and are helpless to the outcome of this decision because the darkness kept them from seeing the way back, the path to salvation lit by the light that it may shine through and save those who have not been entirely tainted by your darkness.

'Slave of the light' Haha, you think me a slave? I am not like you, I bear my light willingly for all to see! I am my own champion, and will never regret nor rescind the mercy granted unto thee. It is a gift of the light, a courage unshakable by your petty threats. I welcome your attempts, for I shall not fall until my purpose is served.

I think I'll need to know Alaira's reaction before I can post, as Ssarak's response will depend on if she does anything crazy.

Ssarak might object to that out of principle, after they are out of danger, of course. Apparently, there is something in this camp that is important for our investigation. Could be anything.

The only thing important is in the Ravine. The surface camp doesn't have much aside from the loot dropped from the bandits and some supplies. The good stuff is down below. Though you will need to act fast: The person down there will only attempt to fight if backed into a corner, otherwise he's going to make a run for it. Spend too long bickering about loot and I will take that opportunity to make him flee, taking evidence with him.

Ssarak is all business until the camp is cleared. I just need to know Alaira's reaction.

Fair enough, though I should make this obvious: The caves are too small if you want to go swinging around your axe/hammer/blunt weapons. It's barely big enough for Ssarak to stand in, let alone fight. If your weapon requires any momentum greater than the swing of your arm you're in a tight spot.

I would actually argue against that given what I know about historic fighting techniques. Polearms are actually fairly versatile. You can simply hold the weapon closer to the head and use it like a shorter weapon, just with the rest of the haft behind you. For instance, with a spear, you can hold it near the point and use it almost like a dagger. With a pollaxe, Ssarak could use it in a similar style as a one-handed axe, as long as his allies don't crowd too close behind him. The haft really doesn't add much weight at all, compared to the head. I wish I could show you what I mean, but words will have to suffice.

If your pollaxe had a spike for stabbing that might be doable, but considering that it was a warhammer up until recently, I couldn't say for certain what it should look like. Not only that but it is indeed rather tight to the point that if you're not walking single file, you may be squeezing past each other in addition to everything being pitch black.
