Team KESS - Patrol Mission Recap
The situation thus far..."W.A.R? Oh no... I thought I was gone from those guys... Alright. Take a seat. This requires some 'splaining to do."
Fixit mumbled incoherently to himself as he gathered up metal folding chairs and water bottles for everyone. As he did so Officer Midori eventually arrived, taking the thugs away in her car. Though for some reason she also stayed to hear Fixit's story, claiming that she's doing it so she can collect evidence on behalf of Vale PD. And yet she continued to look very excited.
"Mhmm... Alright. So I guess the best place is to start from the beginning. W.A.R. is an acronym for 'Warrior Army of Remnant'. I used to run with them, back in my youth, and they were well established long before I was born. They got a long history, dating back all the way to the early days of the Hunters and Grimm. In a way, you can say that W.A.R., or the Institute of W.A.R. as they like to call themselves, is something of a rival to Hunter Organizations. Whereas Hunters are trained to fight and defend the world from Grimm, the Institute of W.A.R. focused on fighting other... Human threats. And faunus, of course." Fixit looked over towards Skyra.
"W.A.R. tried to be something of a global army policing the various kingdoms to ensure that their Hunters weren't being used to merely train up a new generation of super soldiers... Of course, the ultimate irony was that the Insitute of W.A.R. pretty much did exactly that. They took promising Hunters from way back when, showed them propaganda about who they were, and got themselves an army of the best hunters around. Even when it came to upholding the law, the Institute of W.A.R. were quite 'forgiving' when the criminals they capture end up right in their armies. It wasn't long until the corruption in the command tried to pull a military coup in Mistral. Of course, the Hunters put a stop to that, as it turns out the Hunters were pretty good at fighting other people too, and they had the support of the kingdoms to make sure that the Insitute of W.A.R. didn't last much longer. Of course..."
Fixit left for a moment, coming back with a large box. Inside was various bits of memorabilia, including what could presumably be Fixit's weapon, in the form of a kitted out crowbar. There were posters, buttons, badges, pictures of battles and trophies, and much, much more. Most notably, none of the stuff looked like the sort of things a hunter would collect. Nothing grimm related at all; this was the sort of thing you'd get by taking it from someone else. "They're still around, but underground. They're not officially recognized in any capacity, and anyone who claims to be working for them are, at best, a poser, or at worse a criminal. Eeeeh, last I run with them, which mind you was a good 40 odd years ago, they seemed more like a mercenary group. Not like they went about robbing towns or working for terrorist. They got hired by rich folk or even government people to do dirty work. Back when I was with them I worked on their machines, even touched up on their robotics, though I assure you the sort of robots we got back then couldn't hold a candle to the sort of machines we have now. Literally, half of them could barely stand, let alone hold a candle without tipping over because of the weight, eh heh heh heh...."
Clearing his throat, Fixit continued. "Anyways... I quit while I was still young because it wasn't hard to see what direction they were going in, after a change in leadership. Some hotshot hunter thought that the Insitute of W.A.R. was the real way to protect the world, not what other Hunter academies were doing. Figured that if they eliminated all the evil of the world, they'd starve the grimm of the negative emotions they feed off of. I may have been dumb enough to join them back then, but even I wasn't falling for that sod. I left the organization, and good timing, because they had some... Nasty severance policies. Of course after the new leader came in he tried to restart the Institute of W.A.R., he was crushed by an elite team of Hunters before they could have made too much of a mess."
Nearly finished with his long, ranting story, Fixit drank a water bottle in one go, tossing and missing the recycling bin. Officer Midori actually stood up and went to put it away properly, returning as Fixit was finishing up. "I figured they might be making a come back, as you may have noticed with those thugs. Fresh blood, but also trying to bring back the old guard. I'm sure you all are the ones who dealt with them robots a while ago. Yeah, they were based off a bit I helped worked one. Not my patent, mind you, but I'm the only guy in town who knows their factory secrets. Anyways, of course I don't want anything to do with those loonies, which is why those punks were here. Figured they could take me away and convince me to come back. Eh... I wish I could tell you more than my old story. But honestly speakin', I was so busy being defiant I couldn't really figure out where they intended to take me. That being said, I know they got operations in the Land of Walt. One time, before they started sending those meatheads here, I met a young man who wanted me to call him when I reconsider not joining them."
Fixit then handed Krysthane a
somewhat faded business card, which not only was so old that the once decorative colored background was a bleached white, but it used the old logo and name of the Land of Walt: World of Walt. Though the information might have been a bit obscure, Officer Midori helpfully pointed out that they stopped using "World of Walt" as a name about 17 years ago, after the last Walt family member died and the business was handed to a close family friend... The Sapphiric.
Krysthane followed along with the story eagerly, finding herself interested in learning more about Fixit and his interesting past. It seemed he knew quite a bit of helpful information and that they now had another solid lead to follow. As before evidence seemed to indicate the Land of Walt as a primary target.
"Thank you very much for your time Mr. Fixit, we'll be sure to put the information you gave us to good use." Krysthane examined the card and considered if there was anything else they needed to do before moving on. Bad guys taken away, information found, everything seemed a go. Although...
"You did say you knew about their factory secrets and a bit about the robots they worked on. Your information may be a little outdated, but anything we can get would be helpful." If the robots had a critical weakness that hadn't been majorly fixed or the factory had a certain set-up, it would be of great help for shutting either of them down.
Skyra tilted her head.
"To be honest... they don't sound as bad as I had imagined them to be.", she mumbled quietly to herself, but of course that might just be her own "underground organisation"-experience doing the talking, she reckoned. When Krys asked for information, Skyra couldn't help but get a little stab in.
"You think, we could, for example, not rush into the building next time and scout out the area a bit more before walking head first into a trap?", she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Don't be such a bitch, Skyra. These guys aren't worth that level of effort." Ebon said bluntly as he waited for the team to finish with their questioning. The cat was waiting around the car, leaving Ebon a bit more annoying that the only other cat was Skyra, who wasn't nearly as cute or affectionate.
"And besides that, the information he gave us is old as shit. He hasn't been with these guys for more than a few decades ago and the business card is using a name that hasn't be used in 17 years. Even if we go to the Land of Walt there's no guarantee the guy we're looking for is there, or even worked there in the first place."Ebon walked over to Fixit and looked at him intently. He was going to use his Telepathy powers on the old man to look into this memories.
"Old man, try to remember the day you saw the guy who gave you this card. What did he look like? What did he sound like?"Fixit looked rather shocked at Ebon's curt questioning. Though he was right and that the information was quite outdated, he could stand to be nicer about it. Fixit did try to remember the person who contacted him. He remembered that the man was young, much younger than Fixit was last they met. He must have been in his early twenties. He had dark skin, not tan, but it was a light brownish color. Perhaps red even? He also had sneaky yellow eyes. The sort of eyes that says "I'm only interested in money". And he had reddish brown hair. His voice, however, was hard for Fixit to pin down.
"Ah... Well um... Let's see it was a young man. Twenty or so years old. He had dark skin, not really tanned but maybe he does get out a lot? Naturally dark regardless. Yellow eyes, sneaky types. Got a silver tongue, you know? And reddish hair. It was short last time I saw it, combed but a bit messy, on purpose that is. Young people's fashion, you know."
An audible, almost non-human growl came out of Skyra's mouth.
"You know what, Ebon... I don't even care anymore if you get hurt or killed by rushing into things...!"Somehow, Skyra was fuming, but not just an angry fuming, more a sad, depressed anger.
"I am so fed up with your attitude of superiority! Just know, I will not be around when misjudging an enemy when you could have easily prevented it by just scouting ahead will cost you your life, like it did my sister!" A furious sniffle later, Skrya stormed out of the room purposefully bashing into things with her feet and hands.
Krysthane winced. Well that could've... not happened. That would've be good. Uh... well she had to do something. Reprimand Ebon, apologize to Skyra. Yeah that should work.
"Ebon you should really try to be more tactful." Add in a parting jab as she went to comfort Skyra? Nah, would probably promote conflict rather than recompense.
"Thank you again Mr. Fixit, I'll be back momentarily." With that Krysthane hurriedly rushed after Skyra. Esh, childhood issues and inferiority, this was going to be tough to deal with.
"I know Ebon can be a pain sometimes and that I made a mistake-" a justified one though, come on: How was she supposed to expect armed gunmen to be waiting in a mechanic shop?
"But we still need to stick together and work these things out." Well that sounded slightly more lame when she sound it aloud. But she really wasn't sure what to say except generic team leader things.
Skyra had ran a bit until she sat down next to a pillar her face buried in her hands when Krys came to talk to her. A great big sigh escaped Skyra's lips her ears still folded back.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry I snapped... Just..." She whisked away some wetness in her eyes. No, crying was way out of style right now.
"When he mentioned that, I just had to think of my sister. Not biological sister, adoptive sister, but my sister nonetheless, I miss her so much... but... I'm afraid to show any weaknesses...", she rambled on. A little pause later, a slight chuckle escaped Skyra's lips.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry... we need to focus on the mission. We can talk about this later, right? Just... just make sure we know we're not walking into a trap next time, okay?" , she said sniffling a little bit.
Well, that was easier than she'd thought. Kind of awkward listening to it, but it could've been worse.
"Alright then, next building we enter I'll be sure to let you check it out first alright?" Krysthane said cheerily and walked back to Ebon and Fixit.
"Alright we got the info we need, get in the car, or walk I guess, we're headed to the Land of Walt!" Krysthane announced and got into the vehicle and gunned the engine happily as she waited for the rest of her team to decide whether they trusted her driving enough to get in a second time.
Ebon didn't really react to Skyra's outburst or Krysthane's comment. Skyra was an emotional time bomb; he didn't need to read her mind to know she had some serious problems she should address. And Ebon wasn't going to invest time and emotion on someone who'd rather stew in self-pity then try to make amends for whatever it is they did. That's how he thinks people would think of him, though he often wished he was wrong. Eventually the two came back and Ebon said nothing as he walked towards the car, sneaking the cat into his arms and hiding behind his shield.
Slightly exasperated Skyra joined the rest of her crew and team in the car, but avoiding eye contact with Ebon for now. She needed more time to calm down and pried open her bag on her combat skirt and popped in her earphones listening to some music until they would arrive at their target.
With everyone in the car Krysthane drove off to the Land of Walt, this time with a marginal increase in safety.
"Alright, first thing we'll do is head off to these Sapphiric's and see if we can't pry some information out of them, after of course making sure that there isn't another ambush waiting for us." Fool me once.
The Land of Walt was busy as usual, serving and catering to people who came to enjoy the rides and amusement. There were armored knights, flashy and noble looking, simply patrolling the streets, helping customers and looking like they were doing their jobs. After (or if) the team paid for their entrance into the amusement part, they were free to roam about most of the area, though despite being here for business they still weren't allowed in employee-only areas, at least not without a good reason and the approval of a station manager, most whom were too busy dealing with customers.
Somehow Krysthane managed to find a parking spot relatively close to the park itself, which saved them what would've been a great deal of walking otherwise. Krysthane then stepped out with a grin, making sure to lock the doors and keep the keys on her person and looked around.
"Come on guys, let's split up and look for clues!" After all they were at a heavily policed amusement park, it wasn't like someone would be waiting to ambush them here. Searching for clues would be kind of hard with the limited information they had, but they couldn't very well give up now could they? They had an appearance, a few keywords to go on, and some rough locations. Now they just had to find out what was going on and break it. Ez
Ebon let the cat leave the Land of Walt, though it seemed to be following him anyways. Ebon figured his semblance would be useful here: he just needed to find someone who might know what they're looking for and spend some time reading their mind. With any luck it shouldn't take them more than an hour at most. When Krysthane told them to split up Ebon was already gone. He figured he'd start his search by looking for places that could hide a secret area, perhaps something underground. A building on the surface was too obvious a spot, but maybe there was a small shack or something that could lead down to one. If nothing else he'd look for someone who seems to be working for the Land of Walt, but isn't dressed as a mascot, guard, or stall worker. He also simply just started reading minds left and right, hoping that maybe he'd catch something while prying into other people's thoughts.
A search mission, something that Skyra knew she was quite competent at. However there were a few difficulties that came with the task. The most important was, to not get detected and recognized as a huntress. As such, Skyra went to a kiosk, bought a magazine about the history of ninja's or something similar to that and sat down on a park bench pretending to be completely immersed in the magazine while actually staring at the passing people and staffers trying to spot something that would give away something.
It seemed the others agreed with her plan, judging by their silent compliance. Krysthane considered the best way to go about it. Probably the most direct way. But she needed a disguise first. So she wandered around and found a little gift shop and browsed around. Hm. Then she saw it. A police hat. Obviously fake but perfect for the job. Krysthane immediatly sntached it up, paying the paltry amount of lien for her cover and exited, looking for the victim of her information gathering tactics. Seeing somebody who looked bored outside the shop and mildly nobleish gauging by the gaudy clothing of him and his wife she casually sidled up to him.
"Hello there, I was wondering if you could provide a police officer such as myself with some information? Specifically if you could tell me about the Sapphirics and their relation to the Land Of Walt." She flashed him an adorable smile, wink, and tipped her hat slightly.
The person Kyrs was speaking to wasn't so much a noble so much as a rich business owner with a strange fashion sense. And while strange, he could easily see through Kyrs' disguise, but assumed she was simply part of the amusement park's staff. So he and his wife shared a glance, deciding to humor the girl. "Ah, the Sapphirics, yes I have heard of them. Very important figures in the Land of Walt. And what does an officer like yourself want to know about them?" Spoke the rich man.
Sweet.
"Oh just a few things here and there. I'm well aware the Sapprics took over for the Walts a while ago, I'm a little curious about what they've done since then. I know Walt had dealings with quite a few people and they must've been carried on by the Sapprics. Specifically I know that Walt used to deal with some folks that went by the name of W.A.R Know anything about it? If not perhaps you know where I could drop by to see the Sapprics myself, very important business you know." Maybe dropping the name of WAR was a little too suspicious but she had to try something. If not there was always someone else to ask. And if all else failed surely her teammates would find something helpful.
Now the noble and his wife were thoroughly confused. They had no idea who these "W.A.R." folks were, since to them the Land of Walt and the Sapphiric (Who they didn't really know either) were about as far away from anything military or law related as one could get. Sure they had armored guards and such, but that had a more fantasy spin to it than anything else. This girl was too strange for them, so they wanted to move on as quickly as possible. "Oh right. Well, I can't say I've ever heard of these 'W.A.R.' folks before. As for the Sapphirics, yes uh, they have an office somewhere within the ministration department of the Land of Walt. Yes, somewhere around there, though I can't really tell you much more than that. I've never really visited myself. Anyways my wife and I must be going, officer. Good luck with your investigation." And thus the husband and wife left. It was uncertain how much of what the noble said was true, considering that he had no idea what Kyrs was talking about, But it was a lead nonetheless.
To be honest that was less awkward than she expected. It had given her a small bit of information, that was honestly more than she had expected. Thanking the couple as they left in an odd hurry Krysthane began heading towards the ministration department whilst looking for a map to make sure she was going in the right direction. Unless it was exceptionally well hidden she should be there in a few minutes.
Eventually Krys would find the administration department, or at least the building with signs that says that the administration department was within. On the outside it looked fairly festive, matching the theme and tone of the Land of Walt. Inside however, the workers did not wear costumes or particularly fancy outfits, however they were allowed to dress fairly casually. Some even looked trendy. Security here was fairly lax all things considered, with only a single knight sitting at a security kiosk near the entrance. Unlike other knights who were fully armored, he appeared to only be wearing the breastplate, and instead of a sword he had some sort of pistol. So long as Krys stayed outside no one paid her much mind, but the moment she'd come in through the front door she'd catch the attention of the knight.
Krysthane mused silently to herself. Sneaking past would be difficult without a distraction and she had very little to cause a distraction with. Plus sneaking around with make her look super suspicious. Maybe she could ask for a tour or something? Well if worst came to worst and he turned her down she could always resort to kicking through a wall or something. Shrugging pragmatically Krysthane waltzed up to the knight and flicked her hair casually,
"Hey there, was wondering if I could get a tour around the place and look at some stuff. Sound better than standing guard to stop eight year olds from running where they shouldn't?" Krysthane asked, leaning slightly on the side of flirtatious but not putting it on too heavy.
The knight looked at Krysthane, suddenly more chipper. Got to keep up appearances after all. "I'm afraid that I'm not qualified to give tours. But if you want, I can give you directions to one of our attraction guides. They should be able to show you all the wonders of the Land of Walt." The knight put on a professional smile, but it was obvious that he wasn't going to let Krysthane in with just a smile and a polite word. As he spoke, someone dressed as a chef came by wheeling in a large food cart. It was so big that it was taller than her was, and there seemed to be a few more that were going to be brought in.
Krysthane nodded sagely.
"I see. I think I saw one earlier, thank's for the help though." she said with a chipper smile and quickly exited the same way the chef came in. It seemed like fortune smiled on her, offering her a perfect chance to sneak in. Immediately once she was out of sight she would run and try to find more of those food carts. If she found one of them unattended she would sneak into it and hide there, waiting to get wheeled in. She wasn't shy about getting covered in food either, she could wash it off easily enough. If there was someone there . . . Well she'd have to improvise again.
Krysethane would find one empty cart off to the side, but wheeling it over to the full carts was easy enough. It was a tight fit, but she would be able to hide inside the cart fully. Shortly after, a few more workers came by to wheel the carts inside the building, leaving them in what appeared to be some sort of kitchen. There was no one in the kitchen at the moment, but occasionally workers would come by to wheel in more carts. There was a apron and hat, similar to what the workers wore, laying on the counter.
Around that same time one of the workers came by with another man. He did not dress like the workers, but was in fact much more formal. he wore a tan suit with a white collared shirt underneath, with buttons made of some blue plastic. Closer examination would show that they were not plastic, but gemstones. Sapphires in fact. The man spoke in a soft tone, but even Krysthane would be able to hear him up close.
"Make sure our guests in the observatory are attended to. It is very important that they are entertained with today"s show. I have spared no expense for today, and I will not excuse any amature mistakes."
The man quickly left, leaving the worker to start removing the food from the carts.
Krysthane's mind was working overtime inside her clever disguise. Vague terms like 'guests', 'attended to', and 'show' Someone talking for stiffly and wearing nice clothes. All signs of underground behavior. VERY SUSPICIOUS. But how to get past the worker? If she stayed she was sure to be caught, if she left much the same. She would have to bluff. Krysthane clumsily stepped out of the cart, swaying as she regained her feet.
"I'ma working oda show, now where was it again?" Krysthane asked the worker, staring in his general direction, speaking with slurred words and slightly tilting back and forth, giving off a very convincing impression of drunkenness.
To herself at least. Krysthane had never been drunk before and could only do stuff based on what she'd seen and heard that drunk people did. She scratched her head and shrugged,
"No amatur mistakes huh? Boss man won't be happy unless I get there real quick and people like you tend to disappear when he ain't happy right?" Krysthane said, her voice conspiratorial and somewhat lower, but still slurred. She'd seen this in a movie before, just use people's fear of the bad guy to your advantage and it worked out. Unless the boss was nice and not an evil totally mean dude. Then this would get awkward.
----
Skyra would see many tourist, guards, and workers cross her sight. Most however seemed to have fairly obvious purposes; the tourists were obviously just enjoying the facilities, guards were patrolling, and the workers were taking packages or cleaning up garbage. For a long time nothing "unusual" happened. The strangest thing Skyra would see is a man in a suit walking through the park eating a corndog, only to be met with a colorful girl wearing the Land of Walt's emblem. She mentioned something about "It's time for your interview" and took him off towards one of the buildings.
A slight smirk spread over Skyra's face, just enough to satisfy her need to smirk, but not enough to be really visible. Oh, the stealth game was so on. She left the magazine lying on the bench, stood up, made sure nobody was watching her and climbed into the closest tree. From that tree, she jumped from tree to tree towards the building the colorful girl and the suit guy
Silently, she landed on the roof, took out one of her tools and opened the window slightly so that she could sneak inside. Skyra quietly moved through the storage room and sat herself in a position in the shadows, but at the same time with a great view down to the going ons of the room.
What Skyra would see is a small, but dangerous looking obstacle course with swinging maces, rings of fire, electric fences, and pit traps. On the opposite side was a table of judges, each wearing mascot costumes of the Land of Walt; Fumoffu, some sort of bear/mech creature and the park's lead mascot, Puff Puff, a cutsy slime monster that is actually a sack with a face drawn on it, and Count Tater, which is a giant potato. They seemed to be watching the man in the suit, who tore off his suit to reveal that he somehow managed to conceal his own mascot costume inside, which made him look like a giant mushroom with arms and legs. He even opened up his briefcase to put on his mushroom cap. "My name is Masha Ru! And I... Want to be a mascot!"
A silent sigh escaped Skyra as she watched the mushroom flail about. What a waste of time this was. She slowly stalked her way over whatever happened down below by sneaking over a beam towards the window on the opposite side. It seemed she was back to step one. Right now she had no idea where she should go to find any clues, but she was still determined to seek for anything out of place. Skyra climbed through the window and sat herself on top of the warehouse scanning the surrounding area for anything out of the ordinary, although that mascot audition seemed pretty unordinary as well.
As Skyra abandoned her efforts at the mascot audition, something strange did happen. On the same rooftop she was at, in fact. There was another
mascot, or rather, a costumed bad guy. Skyra may have seen this character in the background of a few posters. He was a basic minion, a faceless mook that would swarm the hero and get beaten en masses, but somehow this one seemed different. Before Skyra would notice him he raised his hand towards her, and suddenly the area around the warehouse's roof top was covered in some sort of translucent barrier. Sound would not be able to pass the barrier, and even the most destructive of attacks would simply bounce off. And more importantly, those outside the barrier wouldn't notice what was about to happen.
The mook ran towards Skyra, taking a pair of batons out from behind. He slammed both of them down at her, aiming to take her out with a single attack. Despite how heavy his blow was however, it wouldn't even scratch the rooftop.
Quite surprised Skyra barely managed to weave through the blows, one of the batons cutting off a strand of her black hair. Oh, no you didn't...!
With a quick twist of her hand, one of her blades landed in her left hand shaped into the gun form. She let out a quick burst of short-range energy bullets towards the bad guy's backside.
The bad guy quickly turned around, spinning his baton to deflect some of her bullets before dodging out of the way to charge her. He attacked viciously and never gave Skyra a moment to rest, his attacks heavy and fast. Fortunately, it seemed like he only had batons on him, and thus Skyra had a range advantage on him. Assuming of course she could get away from his brutal mauling.
Sadly for Skyra her bullets were nearly harmless at longer distances and so she needed a plan and that quite quickly as the batons came crashing downwards to her. She used the shockwave of the batons' impact to catapult herself firstly to the side and then, bouncing off the wall of the bubble towards the attacker both swords ready to strike for any opening the enemy would show.
The bad guy quickly turned to attack Skyra, his fury relentless, but in his offense he failed to do anything to protect himself. Right as both of his batons would have struck Skyra on her stomach and leg, both her blades cut into his face with enough force to send him recoiling back. For just a new moments, Skyra would have some time to ready herself before the enemy would resume his flurry. During that moment, she may have noticed something odd: there was no blood on her blades despite feeling the swords sink into his flesh. In fact, looking at her enemy, she could see that instead of a face underneath his mask, he had mechnical parts. Her enemy was a robot.

Ebon wouldn't have any luck either. Everyone's thoughts were varied and random. Children were eager to see other rides and entertainment. Parents keeping track of their children. Workers young and old wondering when they'd get off work, lamenting their jobs. Guards more or less doing the same. And that was even if they were thinking about anything related to the Land of Walt, and most of them were lost in their own thoughts and fantasies. The best he could find was someone who notably was without thought. And that was some person in a mascot suit. The mascot went into one of the employee-only areas before Ebon's telepathy was cut off.
This wasn't much of a lead, but unless he was going to sit here all day, Ebon decided to try and follow the mascot. Not personally, but by sending a few R-Types to sneak around. If they flew fast enough they could be mistaken for birds, so he had them fly towards the building the mascot went into, looking for openings they could sneak in through. Ebon himself moved towards the building, buying some snacks along the way. He sat underneath a tree near the building, eating his food so he doesn't look too suspicious.
Ebon's R-type would lead him to the same warehouse that Skyra was in, and eventually the same room she was watching over. The mascot he was following was the one dressed as a potato, who was the last one to arrive among the judges. His R-Type was just in time to see a man dress as a large mushroom thing and attempt to do the obstacle course.
As the mushroom was performing, a worker came into the room and whispered something to one of the judges. It would be impossible for Ebon to hear from this distance, but whatever the worker said made one of the judges leave, following after the worker. There was an open grate on the other side large enough to fit the R-Type, but there was a slowly moving fave in the way.

As soon as she entered the park, Sepia made a beeline for the nearest bench, awkwardly limping past curious patrons. She practically collapsed onto it, managing to hold back a pained groan as she jarred her side. "This really sucks." From what she remembered, they were supposed to be conducting an investigation, emphasis on "supposed to". It was really starting to feel like she wasn't going to accomplish anything this mission. She shut her eyes and breathed in deeply, trying to think of a way to be useful. Of course, however, she got distracted almost right away.
"I wonder what's eating at Skyra." The cat faunus was obviously holding something painful back from them, but Sepia was caught between wanting to find out and help her somehow, and trying not to be nosy. "For now, I'll just have to tell her that she can talk if she wants to." Still, the idea of letting her suffer in stubborn silence was...disconcerting.
"Sepia?" As said girl was wandering around, a pair of guardsmen stopped the hunteress. She might have not recognized them immediately, but these were the same guardsmen she and Skyra spoke to the first time. The one who called her out was even the same guard who gave Sepia the hint on how to hit the Ursa for the grand prize (And all day-pass to all rides and games at the Land of Walt). "Long time no see! How's the hunting thing going?"
