Hey guys I need a hand. What would be a natural progression of Sapphire's semblance that would allow her to kill a guy with a touch?

@Prince of Seraphs: Frankly, if it's the semblance that is supposed to kill, then something drastically changing her character and semblance along with it to something entirely different. If it's just a tool, then it's quite good already. Sneak up on someone and snap their neck, that counts as touch, no? XD

@Forsythe Well assuming a drastic personality shift doesn't take place semblances evolve over time. For instance, Sapphire's little sister Demetra has an empathic semblance, given enough time she also develops the ability to siphon off the emotions of others and turn them into strength. I was thinking something along those lines for Sapphire could make her now passive semblance deadly but I can't nail down the logistics of it. At the moment she has the ability to manipulate people's perception of herself so what could that evolve into that could kill on contact?

To be perfectly honest, that doesn't seem feasible. Semblances evolve, sure, but whatever they become needs to be a logical evolution of what came before. Ben, for example, could have his Semblance evolve pretty easily to tweak where the strength for his Semblance comes from, or exactly what effect it has. Or Lauren could learn to use that aura of positiveness for an extension of her enhanced state.

But going from passively affecting awareness to deathtouch is...

A pretty massive jump. Like, completely jumping branches on the metaphorical evolutionary tree.

I mean you could possibly affect their awareness of the world and make them think they're in a void of nothingness and cause their body to think it can't breath and die but... idk.

Firstly thank you that is exactly the logical explanation I was looking for to make this work.

Secondly this isn't for RP purposes, hypothetically it might be possible for Sapphire's semblance to progress that far but not anytime soon and certainly not while she's still at school (besides there'd be a whole lot of side effects I'd have to come up with). Her semblance won't develop to that point while this RP is still running (unless we make it through like ten years IC time but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it).

You're probably better off just getting a gadget or weapon for a death touch. Something that shocks someone with an overly lethal charge of electricity, or a sonic paralyzer. Or just poison.

Edit: This is is for some sort of hypothetical future Sapphire, her suped up semblance is a bit between "Master Illusionist" and "Reality Warper" depending on how powerful she can manipulate the senses. Even at the low end "Master Illusionist" you could completely numb them to pain (But not make them immune to death) with a false illusion fo you politely chatting with them from afar, while the real you slits their throat without them being none-the-wiser. Alternatively if she could use her power to say, convince them that they are being crushed by 50 tons of molten iron, their body may react accordingly, breaking it's own bones and gaining sever burns just because it thinks it's going through it. Again, extremely powerful stuff.

In Pathfinder the former is simply a trick of Greater Invisibility and Major Image, while the latter is more or less a Phantasmal Killer. I'd prefer the former, since even on the off chance that you can see through the illusions, you at least have the advantage of a semi-permanent invisibility.

So I have a question what would be a logicial upgrade for Byakko or Cians semblance. Byakko has three modes already a sniper,machine gun, and long barrel/close combat. While Cians semblance is a defensive one that creates a shield but she takes the mental damage from hits on it.
