Using my new found Russian abilities I declare the territory around the elves as an independent republic and recognize them as legitimate government. In the ensuing confusion I hide behind the elves, pick up one of the bows from one of your dead archers and fire a single random shot into the Thousand Blades who immediately attack the New Elven People's Democratic Republic of South Ossezkhia. I flee during the fighting and return with reinforcements of bear cavalry. We wait for the war between the thousand Swords and the Elven republic to end and we destroy whoever is still standing at the end with a massive bear cavalry charge King Theoden/king Stannis-style.

We scorch the land and leave only your vodka distillery and your shot-glass factory standing.

I was referring to Russia's recent habit of creating mini-republics around it out of the bodies of their former foes. The clue was in South Ossezkhia which is a mix of South Ossetia and Abkhazia but could also refer to what's going on in eastern Ukraine.
