On The First Day sat upon the hilltop. It of course, had no gender, but for the sake of causing less confusion, from here on On The First Day will be referred to as 'she'. She watched the slowly setting sun and wondered about the people she had chosen. Each of them so different in personalities and backgrounds - probably the only thing that solidly linked them was their potential to receive her blessings. This was her first time having to manage a group of 'protagonists'; most of her fellow Virtues were already managing teams of their own, some of them preventing disasters on multiversal scale - one team was in fact able to battle Satan himself and seal him for another thousand years by that universes timeline (although On The First Day had heard that nearly everyone on that team died. A true pity, if that was the case - glorious and honorable death was death nonetheless, and can never be completely celebrated). On The First Day was not envious of their accomplishments, but rather wished that she could start helping out more.

The sun began to set and the world that was hosting her sunk into its twilight hours. How long would it be before her chose heroes arrived, she wondered. There was a universe that she was currently tasked to repair, and the arrival of her team would help immensely, in fact, it would be fair to say impossible to fix without them.

As she contemplated this, she saw figures making their way towards the hill, and smiled. It looked like it was finally time . . .

He had received a message to go to the hill. Had nothing to lose, since his life had never been that exciting. He just despises the fact that he had to leave his sister alone at home. She is able to take care of herself, but she was the only family he had left. Agni's lifestylte isn't something enjoyable. But he lived that way, without any regret or sadness. The only fact that always had made him angry was how people usually talked to him about how things were going. In his school, in his work... everywhere. For him, they were faking. Putting a mask to hide how they don't care a little about how things are going for him, good or bad. In a sense or another, that's the only thing Agni hates: people.

As he climbed the top, the only thing he saw was a person. He looked at her and saw a smile in her face as he got closer and closer to the top. Agni started to imagine what that woman could ever want. Was she waiting for him? She smiled upon seeing the horizon behind me... was she saiting for my arrival?, he thought. Then, he looked on the same direction she was looking and saw more people coming. He sighed. Encountering with other people wasn't something he liked, even in the slightest.

Jynmi was nervous, but this wasn't new, and he knew how to deal with it. It wasn't hard either. He learned the trick awhile ago when he was playing Deadspace, the first survivor horror game he took to with the serious intent of seeing it through to the end. Just keep moving, and that was it. Pause, and wait around for the nerves to calm down and your head to give a soothed nod to go ahead because it wasn't in danger of blowing up anymore, and you'd never venture into the next room. So he found the hill and headed up. There was a woman there, and another man, who didn't look happy to be there. Good, if nothing else, there was that much in common.

"Morning." Jynmi said out of habit. "Evening." He said out of the realization that morning stopped being a thing for that day around six hours ago. "This is the place, right?" He looked to one stranger and then the other. "Is this the place?" He couldn't wait much longer before his hand, on its own, took a paper back out of his pocket, and he started reading. "Well, I'll just wait awhile, and see if anything happens. If not, I'll go home. No hard feelings. I got some exercise, and there's the Dresden files here to keep me coming." With that his eyes turned to the pages, and he glued them there so they couldn't wonder off and get him into some kind of trouble like last time with that one guy, the one with all the tats, who didn't like his wondering eyes.

She didn't mind going to that hill, seeing as she had nothing else to spend her time with. By doing so, it broke the chain of her everyday routine actually, and that was always what she'd hoped for. Lotte had received a message directing her to this hill, and she could see that others too got the message. The wind was breezy, causing her long blonde hair to flow behind her, along with the unfastened chin straps of her helmet. It felt comforting somehow.

Reaching the top, Lotte was greeted with a scenic sunset view, and she saw a woman standing by a young tree. She had long blonde hair like hers, wore a white dress, and had... wings and a halo? That description matched perfectly with an angels'. She was smiling, seeing Lotte and others reaching the hill. Now that she was seeing them closer, they all actually seemed to be around her age.

"Evening, pretty sure it's the place," she answered someone, despite knowing that the person might not reply back as he was reading something then. She turned to the being and questioned her, "What do you have to say?" in quite a bored voice, but the glint in her eyes belied that.

Xander calmly walked up the hill, his eyes looking up towards the top with both his hands in his pocket. He had received the mysterious message, which intrigued him thus explaining his arrival at the hill. He was wearing a white t-shirt, one with a big blue 9 in the middle of it, enclosed by a circle of the same color, som jeans, and black sneakers. He saw others around his age but none of them whom looked familiar to him, he was pretty sure he knew no one here.

Upon arriving the top of the hill, his eyes looked at the people his age, he saw a cute girl, a boy looking down and reading something on a paper, and another guy who seemed he really didn't want to be here. His eyes quickly looked over them before rolling over to the angelic like being, he looked slightly awestruck before speaking to her, or rather it.

"An....angel....did you call me here....and apparently others?" I ask curiously.

Today would have been a normal day for Steven Tall had a letter of invitation not urged him to head to a certain location. Young Steven would have thrown away the letter, dismissing it as some sort of scam but something compelled him to go. Could it be the hands of fate? Or was it simply Steven's childish fantasies telling him to believe. Not even the sixteen-year-old knew. All he knew was he was going to be there. He could only hope he doesn't get mugged or shot because of it.

The location was a hilltop looking at a sunset. Steven spotted several figures there, including a female that sported wings and a halo. It was then Steven felt excitement, his childish imaginations seeming to come true. This was not normal. Unless of course it was him that was not normal and he could be imagining all of these but if so, Steven did not want to wake from this brief respite from reality.

With some measure of hesitancy Li had decided to answer the summons of the mysterious letter he'd received earlier that day. It was not his normal method to partake of such dalliances, after all, there was always plenty of work to be done. Still, he was suitable ahead in his studies and secure in the knowledge that there were no pressing matters that at the current time were in need of his attention. Therefore the boy settled on visiting the hill more out of a desire to expend time than any real interest in what might be occurring there.

Upon arriving at the outskirts of the area his expectations were already dropping. What was this, some gathering of middle-school drop-outs? Sure, perhaps his arrogant attitude precluded the ability to see the vast depths of personal worth in others, but still, it was fact that those assembled on the hill formed a mighty motley crew. For a moment the asian hesitated; was it really worth the curiosity? After all, he might actually have to talk to some of these plebeians? It was only after Li caught sight of the angelic figure that he made a firm decision. That sight finally peaked his attention enough to investigate fully.

As the boy approached his manner of dress became more apparent. Li was clad in some kind of cadet dress uniform, military design clothing that was more for the purpose of everyday wear than combat use. Along his lower sleeves two gold bands signified his academic status, circular garrison cover completing the uniform. "Well, if it isn't the super squad?" His tone of voice was dripping with contempt, obviously he felt superior to the rest of the assembled peoples.

Xander turned around and sneered at the asian military boy, he bared his teeth at this taunt made towards all of them. Xander heard his tone, he despised people like these and replied with a similar superior-esque tone, facing and staring at Li directly into his eyes.

"Well then, seems someone escaped communist camp, eh? Military....oh, my mistake seems someone loves the red stars." Xander said with a chuckle, looking at the arrogant boy before him.

He was quite aware of the legal power that this boy held, but he didn't care. The boy probably had some sort of military combat training as well, though he wasn't sure, though, he merely looked at him and awaited any sort of hostile actions towarsds him. He folded his arm, his left over his right as the left hand wrapped around his right bicep.

There was a pause, then a sly arching of the eye-brow. Li's attention was focused, turned away to face some insignificant enigma who, by their very words, admitted to knowing very little about him, his country, or his situation. "Well then, seems someone escaped communist camp, eh? Military....oh, my mistake seems someone loves the red stars." "One could say the same to you? Your insulting my nationalistic spirit doesn't impress me, neither does your ridicule of our economic system. Really, I'd think we'd both be friends? After all we both live in democratic republics? Or were you too stupid to remember we both use the same governmental model." With this, Li gave a simple cough before readjusting his uniform. Americans were always the most troublesome. They went out of their way to try and belittle others when really they should be looking inward at their own problems? Red stars? Really? With all the demagoguery and flag worship that emanated from that hated state? They might as well go back to blinding worshiping native American totem poles.

And they called him barbaric.

Agni sighed. That discussion was so fundamental and important, just like two kids arguing between Marvel and DC comics. Still, being stuck with people like them really annoy me. I mean, we're in the 21st century. Is there any reason for those stupid, pea-brained, hot-headed idiots to be discussing about the past. Better to bury it and live the present life., he thought, upon seeing the kind of people that were there with him. He kept watching the horizon while waiting for the words from the angel.

In the while, he thought about his sister. I left her at home, alone. I know that she can take care of herself... but I'm starting to get really worried. We were supposed to eat cake together and thanks to this stupid message, here I am. On the hill, waiting for something to happen., he thought, a little angry about waiting.

Yosuke stalked towards the hill emanating bitterness. Why was he even doing this stupid crap? The people here were probably just going to make fun of him or something. He was strangely compelled to go though, partly because he wanted to kick the crap out of them, partly because of the mystery. An envelopeless letter appearing in your mailbox, telling you to come to the hilltop near the edge of town. Besides, his room was getting kinda stuffy, might as well get out a little...

Yosuke inhaled some of the crisp twilight air. Yeah, yeah this was alright. He needed to take a step outside sometime. Preferably with a 3DS in hand. He took a look at the hilltop slowly growing bigger in his eyesight. There were people on it, ugh. Some idiots were arguing, a military man and some dude in a T-shirt Yosuke was sure wasn't related to Touhou, simply because no one who played Touhou went outside, himself excluded for the moment. There was also some emo looking loser, an excited idiot, and 2 chicks. With an exasperated sigh, he approached the hill. "Hate to break up your petty squabble, but who the hell called me here, and why?" He asked, hopefully breaking up the dumbass strife long enough for someone to respond to his question.

On The First Day waited patiently for more people to arrive. Still though, this was quite the group that she had to manage - she had no idea how the protagonists were chosen from normal people, but she would trust Gods will. Well, she had to, considering that right now her team was looking very shaky.

She could feel their hearts and minds and they were all . . . special, to say the least. They were all disturbed in their hearts to some measure. She hoped that she could find a way to help them, not because they would be helping her in turn, but because she had to. Such was her duty as a messanger of Heaven.

On The First Day opened her mouth to speak, when an arguement between two of her chosen broke out. Oh dear, that wasn't good.

She clapped her hands softly, but the sound rang throughout everyones ears, breaking their thoughts and focusing their attention on her. She smiled in turn and decided it would be best to start explaining now.

On The First Day stood and unfurled her wings to their maximum length - they were at least twice the length of a human adult, and gave a deep bow. Her halo was glowing brightly as she did so. Her presence inspired a kind of familiar warmth, the kind every child feels in the presence of their mother; calm, safe from harm, a protective existance.

"Good evening, my Lords and Ladies. Thank you all for coming at this humble ones request. No doubt you are confused and have questions, so allow this one to answer them.

"My name is not one you can pronounce or understand, however I have been referred to by your ancestors as On The First Day. I am an Angel of Heaven, tasked with overseeing the flow of the universe, an existence that some of you may know as a Virtue."

On The First Day paused, waiting to see if there would be any reactions. There was a lot of info to give, but giving it all to them at once would be bad - there was only so much a person could process at a time.

The people Steven was with were... colorful to say the least. If the argument between two of them said anything.

The entire group was silenced when the angelic being clapped her hands softly which somehow rang throughout everyone's ears, breaking their thoughts and focusing their attention on her.

The angel then did something that made Steven's heart skip a beat and made his inner child scream in awe. The angelic being unfurled her wings to their maximum length - they were at least twice the length of a human adult, and gave a deep bow. Her halo was glowing brightly as she did so. Her presence inspired something that Steven could not feel as his mind lacked the ability to comprehend it.

"Good evening, my Lords and Ladies. Thank you all for coming at this humble one's request. No doubt you are confused and have questions, so allow this one to answer them.

My name is not one you can pronounce or understand, however I have been referred to by your ancestors as On The First Day. I am an Angel of Heaven, tasked with overseeing the flow of the universe, an existence that some of you may know as a Virtue."

On The First Day stayed silent after that, waiting for everyone's response. Steven took the initiative. "Uhh... greetings First Day." Steven already thought up a nickname. There was still doubt within him but he decided to play along. "Sooo... you're an Angel of Heaven, but... what has that got to do with us?"

He tried, really he did, but distractions are hard to ignore, even if the subject matter isn't very interesting. It started to become too much, and the thought of leaving did cross Jynmi's mind, but in the end the angel spoke before he could leave, but after he put his book back and started turning around to make his exit. He tilted his head, and watched her speaking, wondering if 'her' was the accurate term. Did angels have sexs? It could be possible, he supposed anything was possible, but the thought of them being spiritual entities without form made it hard for him to believe genitals existed.

The angel paused and watched them. It, she, was probably giving them the opportunity to ask questions. He had a lot, but the one about sex seemed more pressing. So he opened his mouth to ask, assuming this would be his last chance, but instead, at the last second, as if his mouth had more sense than his mind, he said. "What does overseeing the existence of the universe entail, exactly? Are we going to have to fix something, because I'm the not the right person for that. There've been----instances that could prove that." He would'Ve gone into further detail, but being an angel he was sure she was aware of the cars, and bikes, and that little old man's electric chair all bursting into flames.

Xander was about to give Li a piece of his mind, before the angel grabbed everyone's attention in an unexplainable way his full attention now On the First Day. He watched......her unfold her wings from her back, he looked at the wings in immense curiousity and awe, before rubbing his eyes as to make sure he wasn't in a dream.

"The....universe....but...I don't think I could take such a responsibility..." He said, in a sort of awestruck and modest tone, continuing to look up at the majestic angel. He saw another boy take a bow before her, in which he did as well, showing respect for 'her'. He rose from the bow, before continuing to look at 'her' listening to her attentively.

Yosuke's mind was suddenly focused as one of the girls there clapped her hands. He had no idea why, but his attention was suddenly drawn to her. He completely missed the lady's cosplay when he first glanced at her, an angel of judgement, it looked like. Hm, this was one weird prank. Getting into costume, delivering the letters, all that for what punchline? Yosuke guessed it probably wasn't even very funny.

The 'angel', for lack of a better term that wasn't very offensive, began explaining herself. Apparently she was indeed an angel, and she was tasked overseeing the universe as a Virtue. Yosuke snickered a little, nevermind, this was pretty funny! For some god forsaken reason all the people around him freaking believed her, like the idiots they were. "Oh my god, you fuckin' morons." He said, a smile of superiority plastered onto his pale face. "She's not an angel! I bet there's a mechanism in those damn wings, here, let me show you." He explained, before reaching to touch The First Day's wings.

Jonan was sitting on a chair, looking at the ceiling in his room, have just read the letter he recieved early in the day, he was pondering if he would really go or not. Part of him said that he shouldn't go to a place he never went, specially if it was outside the city, but his curiosity and sense of freedom said otherwise.

"Well, i guess it doesn't hurt, if anything wrong happens...like...bandits trying to make me hostage, i'll just run, i'm good at running...but then again, they might have guns...but then again, it's not everyday i recieve an invitation like this one." He thought to himself.

Then, he finally decided.

"I'll go, i just need to take care right? It's what my mom always say when i leave home, to take care." He said out loud smiling. Then, he put the letter in his pocket, grabbed some money for the bus, then rushed to the kitchen to grab a pack of cookies, then announced to his familly he was going to walk around the city, of course, that was a lie. There was no way they would let him go so far away from the city.

After a while of travelling and some minutes of walking, he reached said hill, he noticed there wasn't any place for where he could hide just so he hide and watch things from afar.

"Guess i'm boned, they probably saw me at this point..." He thought to himself, then, he approached the group, only to notice pretty much everyone looked around his age, one of them looked like he came from the military and of course, the most flashy of them all, the angel. Jonan the summed 2 and 2 together and, gave the most logical response he could give at a time.

"Ah! I see, this is some sort of Otaku meeting huh? And two of you guys are cosplaying huh? Why didn't you say so in the letter, i was worried for a moment there." He said rubbing the back of his head, while trying to hold a laughter, but of course, he didn't know how wrong he was, specially because he is late for the 'party'.

"This is ridiculous. I don't think I have left my sister at home to hear this talk of lunatics.", he said.

Agni, in no moment, denied her existence as an angel from Heaven, but in no circumstances he would siply believe in her words that easily. His phone had rumbled twice inside his jacket's pocket. Surely it was his sister calling, waiting for him to get home so they could be together, eating the cake he had to buy, even though he said that he did it. With his hand covering one of his eyes as the other was closed, he sighed in frustration.

"Look, I really don't care who you are. Just tell what the hell do you want so this thing can end already! I have more things to do other than staying at the hill, waiting for the sunset to end!", he pointed his opinion.
