Just to clarify, Viper's corpse is outdoors, right outside Eren's window. Eren is in her bedroom. The basement wouldn't have anything in it except Eren's knife that he left down their with dried blood on it from Viper's arm.

If you need an excuse for your character to not visit the empty basement, remember that Eren's scuffle with Viper would not have been quiet. She fired a loud ass gun in the backyard before climbing the window back into her room.
