I'm still here.I am on a short city trip with my dad and little brother. We will go back home on thursday so I was planning to finish my sheet then, if that's alright with you Mad Hatter. Great characters we have so far! Good to see we have a human character too. I might make one too if I can't decide on a power.

I still am, but I got sidetracked by some projects that absolutely needed to be completed. Things will probably get worse before they get better, but I should have a sheet done by tomorrow night.

Actually, been meaning to ask something regarding a potential character's powers, and whether they're okay or not. Essentially, two themed powers.
tl;dr: makes psychic links between birds, also bird-based mad scientist power

1. The ability to create a psychic link with birds and bird-like animals by touching them. Can command them through the link and receives sensory information from linked birds with a fairly large range range, but control is reduced the more that are linked. Can fully control every aspect of a single bird down to involuntary actions such as breathing, heartbeat, and hormones; two to five birds can be guided effectively, but not nearly to the extent of what could be done with a single bird; six to eleven birds can be given rough orders that they will be compelled to follow, but ultimately instincts will dictate how they act; any more than eleven causes massive headaches from sensory overload.
2. Super-ornithology. Biological, behavioral, and anatomical knowledge of birds beyond what would be considered reasonable before Supers began to emerge. This knowledge comes in bursts of knowledge whenever it is needed. This knowledge us nearly impossible to translate into a form understandable by others, needing several hundred pages of complex papers detailing even the smallest details due to sheer complexity.

She has a rather small frame and doesn't have much in the way of curves. Thanks to her fairly strict lifestyle though she maintains a good muscle tone.

Distinguishing Marks:
A rose tattoo on her right shoulder with the thorns running down her arm. She also likes to highlight her hair red. The combination being the origin of her alias. When using her powers her blue eyes glow brightly.

Clothing Style:
Gangster.

Personality:
Confident in her abilities and proud of her heritage. A strong sense of duty has been breed into her. Though her sense of justice doesn't often extend far outside family ties she will work with others to achieve a common goal. Like many she can be talkative once you get to know her, but she purposely keeps a distance when it comes to relationships. Taking some time to learn things a little later than most, if circumstances were different she shows signs that she could have been a real nerd.

Biography:
Born into a family with criminal ties staying hidden is a fairly normal task for her. While not at the top of the ranks as far as gangs go the Mendez family was a fairly active player. As such there was a strong sense of camaraderie and unbreakable family ties. Even at an early age Naomi was taught the values of trust and respect. Much of this shaped who she is today and how she responds to situations.

The girl herself was not the first super in the gang. Over the years they have had many different variations. However Naomi presented a rather unique opportunity. Not overtly flashy in any way it was discovered when the little girl was 9. Somehow her toys would disappear and she would show up with new ones, many of which from her own imagination. Not really trying to hide what she could do she created a new object from what appeared to be nothing. It was later discovered that she needed something in exchange for making something but that wasn't much of a setback. Essentially able to turn lead into gold the Mendez began to rise in terms of wealth and power. The success was halted a year later by the sudden appearance of the Technopath.

Through use of a mechanized army the crime rings in the city were decimated. Forced underground Naomi and her remaining family have been planning and attempting to unseat the superpowered being. To some extent they kept the woman's abilities a secret until she was a more capable teenager. Thinking her ready the first couple encounters with the Crusaders turned out well, she essentially dismantling the machines. They learned quickly though and with each upgrade it made it more difficult to fight with them. Deciding to cut her losses she went back into hiding to plan out better strategies instead of going in blind. With no real system of schooling or power in place she had to make due with books. The pursuit of knowledge has led her to meet with both the Resistance and the Fixers. While only a singular goal in mind she has come to appreciate learning even if it isn't the most fun task. Had she grown up in a different environment there's no telling what she would have accomplished.

Skills:
Somewhat of a tinkerer, largely due to her powers offering a lot of creativity early on.Since she's managed to take out a few Crusaders she understands much of their early constructions but a majority of it is way over her head. Given the family business she learned to street brawl even though much of the fights between gangs has died out. She also learned to handle a gun. They tend to draw a lot of attention though so their use is not as common.

Powers:
Matter/energy equivalent exchange. Naomi is able to convert matter into energy and store that energy for a later time. Vice versa that stored energy can then be converted back into new matter. The more dense or complex the result the more energy is required. She can only create as much as he has taken in and only material she's come in contact with. Conversion requires physical contact and she cannot create complex mechanisms on the fly. The more dense the material the longer it takes to convert. Thus far it has only worked on non-living matter but that is likely a mental barrier she is not willing to cross. And while she has the potential to recreate anything she has converted it doesn't mean she understands how it works.

@The Mad Hatter due to not having thought out the age matters with the characters background I was forced to change Drake's background a little.

so now instead of being inside the city since the wall rose, which wont fit with his background and age, as its been 10 years since tech took over

He started to roam the world once more and happened across the city thinking it could be a place to hide.

so yeah a year ago he was able to enter the city, which is I guess easier then getting out as if anyone is foolish enough to enter he/ she becomes trapped inside and becomes a new citizen under tech's rule
How he got inside I admit, I dont know, perhaps he flew inside, flying inside the city should be less conspicuous then trying to fly out XD

Although the Crusaders would likely shoot down anything that flew over the wall, whether it came from the inside or the outside, the fact that Drake can heal as rapidly as he can could have saved him...

I'm about halfway through each of their Histories, so I should be anle to finish it tomorrow. I'll be adding some NPC stuff, too.

You might all want to start considering and discussing the relationships between characters, since they'll probably know each other to some extent.

I'm thinking I'll be setting the deadline for character creation, releationship discussion and so on to Wednesday (May 13th) and I'll get the IC up on Thursday (May 14th), since my anniversery (ten years, yay!) is in the middle of the night between those days xD

I'll start I guess. I can see Piper knowing the more "normal" people. (Those that can pass off as human in the Resistance.) Honestly, I only really see her having contact with Mahmud or Naomi. Mainly Naomi since she seems to be the one who would be most connected to the Fixers. (And their goal of stealing parts from the Crusaders.)

Yes indeed. And actually since she's on a learning stint she probably would be with the Fixers right now. She's trying to be more low key right now though so she probably hasn't told/shown them what she can do. We can make it into a game where they're trying to guess what it is.

I don't know if the Fixers would willingly take in a mutant. They'd help her out if she was good enough, but'd keep her at a distance. Unless she's hiding the fact that she is a mutant. Then they'd only have their suspicions, which might be interesting.

That could work. She doesn't show any signs of having an ability when not using them. And I'm sure one of the normals in her family could have learned about that stipulation.
