Checking the time of his digital watch on his wrist, Adrian let out a puff of air. He stalked back to the cabin, letting out a pent up breath. He was excited for the game tonight, though it might not appear so on his outside. He walked up to his crude and roughly built cabin. He shouted out, breaking through the yelling inside," get to dinner! Capture the flag is tonight! Get ready to beat them to the ground! Inform any others that you see." He spun, walking back to the pavilion.

As he walked, he spotted the 7 foot tall Ray, looking at him in disgust. He knew something was off with him, and he could gather what. Some sort of drugs or medication. He needed to talk to him about that. And show him a rather big lesson. He walked inside, grabbing his plate of food then dropping the small portion into the fire. He went and plotted himself down at the Ares' table, sitting on the far left side to keep an eye on everyone that might walk by him. He just wouldn't see anyone that sat down on his right side.

Intense fight, Hunter would admit that. He hated to admit it but the Ares kid was right... He was dead. "Well damn.... Good match." Hunter stood up with some help from Caden. "Next time man, I'ma win." Hunter smiled and walked off. He walked back in a few seconds later to grab his gear. "Now I shall leave." Hunter stated as he ran out with his things.

He went back to his cabin to find it empty still. "Guess there's no new siblings this year..." Hunter liked having the space, but he had issues being alone still. He put away his weapons except his hatchet, he liked to have that with him despite its ability for reach. He looked at his watch and saw the time. "Lunch, good time for me." He started to leave to grab something to eat.

@King Kindred

Jadaria's body shook with a genuine laugh, the challenge in her eyes nearly as fierce as that of an Ares kid. "Not too worried about it, to be honest. I'm a Hunter as well as the daughter of Artemis, I'm much tougher than your average demigod and I won't go down easy. That being said, I'm very much looking forward to seeing the teams. A battle against you might prove to be interesting enough to get my mind off this mess." Her eyes trailed across the growing crowd of campers, her excitement only intensifying. The Ares table seemed to already be buzzing with its usual rage, already making preparations for the capture the flag game. No matter what happened in the future, tonight felt like a game no one would ever forget.
~~

Caden chuckled as he picked Hunter up from the ground with a fair amount of ease. "Good match." He responded with a sly smile. "That's the spirit. If you keep thinking that, maybe someday it might actually come true." His jab was all in good fun, the match having put him in a rather good mood. And from what he heard there was a game scheduled for the evening, icing on the cake for an Ares' kid like himself. He could just about feel the growing tension between campers as the minutes drew ever nearer to battle. As long as he was around, Caden wasn't going to let anyone beat Ares' cabin at capture the flag. Caden paused as he watched Hunter walk back in for his gear before taking off again, shaking his head with a chuckle as he made his way toward food.

Chiron

Chiron stood in his centaur form on the edge of the dining pavilion. He know all too well about the civil war that was brewing, and it made him anxious. His tail swished from side to side as he pondered how to keep the campers out of such a deadly battle. It was almost inevitable, especially since the kids are getting closer to their godly parent now more than ever before. The gods were trying to get their own blood and flesh to fight for them. Nonetheless, there was a Capture the Flag game tonight that had most of the campers wound up. There weren't many new campers this summer, and there weren't any that seemed too out of the ordinary. However, this was the first CTF game of the summer which meant that the campers had to set the bar. It was also a good exercise to see what needs to be improved.

Soon all of the campers had gathered at the pavilion. It was time for Chiron to make his speech. He loudly stomped his hoof on the ground a few times to get their attention. "Attention all campers! As many of you know, tonight is the night we play Capture the Flag. For those who don't know how to play I will explain the game. Two teams are made, and each team given a flag. On each side of the forest, both teams hide their flag somewhere visible, but easily defensible. To win for your team, you need to capture the opponent's flag and carry it across the river that divides the middle of the forest, and acts like a border. I will serve as battlefield medic and referee. There is a jail. Captured opponents can be placed in the jail and aren't allowed to leave unless freed by another person from their team.

Here is a short run down of the rules:
Every camper who is not injured has to play. The creek is the boundary line. The entire forest is considered "fair game." All magic items are allowed. The flags must be prominently displayed and can have no more than two guards. Prisoners may be disarmed, but may not be bound or gagged. Killing or maiming is NOT allowed. The punishment for breaking this rule is loss of dessert. Guards aren't allowed to stand within ten yards of the flag.

Team one consists of the cabins of Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphordite, and Nemesis.

Team two consists of the cabins of Athena, Hades, Hermes, Artemis, Dike, Hebe, and Thanatos.

You have 30 minutes to gather your weapons and meet outside of the forest."
As soon as Chiron finished his speech, campers scrambled down to various locations to retrieve their weapons, and reconvene at the edge of the forest. A heavy sigh left Chiron as he watched the anxious campers. It was only a matter of time before things started to go downhill.

Hunter sat with a half eaten sandwich in his hands when Chiron gave his speech. "Well damn..." He said with the other half of the sandwich in his mouth. Hunter was fine with sparing, even one on one fights... he had issues with games like capture the flag, or any team fights. He had a bad tendency to go... a bit extreme. He also had issues with campers fighting each other in any real form of combat, he knew this was still just a game but he didn't like it.

Hunter gathered his gear and met up with the campers on his team. "Let the games begin and may the odds be ever in your favor." He said in a sarcastic tone.

He set out his gear on the ground and started placing it where he could use it best.

Gear: Standard sword, Hatchet, Two combat knives, and ingenuity.

Hunter sighed. "Awesome... lets get this ever with."

Blake and Leon

Blake and Leon walked up to where their team was. Blake was one of the first to speak up "Alright guys so these guys should be pretty easy to beat, we got a lot of skill on our side and we normally win anyway. We just need you guys to go grab the flag while me and Leon defend". Leon looked over at Blake and jumped in with "Guys now is all about team work we gotta band together and beat those guys and since you guys are the best, like we know you are, it should be a cake walk". Leon and Blake then both said "While we defend the flag". Sure it sounded like they wanted to just slack off but if you look at their track record they actually do, DO work and they ARE good it just goes unnoticed do to the fact of their team mates being the runners. That's okay though they don't mind going unnoticed. As long as they, and the team, taste that sweet sweet victory.

Adrian looked at Chiron, his eyes narrowing. As soon as his speech was done, he ran back to his cabin. Once he arrived, he tossed down his sword onto the bed. He quickly worked, placing the armor on his body, tightening the bands around him. With a nod, he grabbed his sword, strapping it on as well. He then snatched his helmet up from the bed, slamming it down firmly on his head. After checking to make sure everything was in its proper place, he ran out of the cabin and to the meeting place, his feet slamming down hard onto the ground.

At his arrival, he noticed the two, Blake and Lane, already seating themselves at the position of guarding the flag. Fine, they did a decent job at it. Once they finished, he cut in, looking at the group," the best tactic would to have three groups of two or three people, one head straight down the middle, the other two curve around the sides. The rest would stay back at the river line, and scattered through our side of the forest. Try to keep all of their the attention away from the flag."

Astrid Ashbourne

"Woo! Yeah! Team Two best team!" Astrid teleported into the middle of the yard where the flag was planted and yanked it out of the ground. Thrusting it into the air she yelled out, "Alright bitches, let's gather round." Slowly the group of demigods circled up around her. Gesturing at the other team, who had also gathered around, she began to talk. "That team over there thinks they have us beat already. They've got two of the big three on their side as well as the Ares and Hephaestus kids. They've also got those great looking Aphrodite kids and the one weird Nemesis kid."

She paused for a minute trying to remember where she was going with this speech. She hated speeches, never could get good at them. "Anyway we are not going to fail. If we fail, there won't be a whole lot anyone else will be able to do. What I'm trying to say is that failure at this point isn't really the smart move to make. We are not to fail, do I make myself absolutely clear? Failure is bad, it won't help us in the short term and certainly won't do us any favours in the long run, and I think I've lost track of this speech, and I'm not too sure where it's headed. But I know where it started and that's what you've got to keep in mind."

Astrid could see she had lost most of the people so she just threw the flag into the surrounding people and said, "Alright hurry up, let's get this damn thing hidden. Artemis kids, you're used to the hunting shit, so you hide that flag quick and get on the front ASAP."

Alistair was half sleep most of his meal and only woke to eat a little and put his head back down. He always thought that the most energy draining thing to do during a day is eating. Alistair was very smart when it came down to certain things and time management was one of them, he would always try to plan out his days so that he could use the least amount of energy and still get some extra sleep in. The boy had calculate that eating was the most energy depriving activity, it took more energy to eat and digest food than it took to train and fight, and he hated it, one of the reasons he did not eat much.

When Chiron finished his speech about capture the flag, Alistair groaned. He did not hate the game but it was who he was playing with, Athena's daughters. They were always so demanding and liked to be in control of the entire situation. He then got up once the centaur was done and grabbed the skull that was sitting next to him, it was of the skeleton that brought him there and headed out to the area where his teammates were talking.

When he got there some girl, Astrid, he thought her name was, one of Hebe's kids. She was at the end of her glorious speech and gave orders to Artemis children to go and hide the flag. "I'll go with them." He said with a yawn. "I'll help protect the flag with anyone who wants to join me." He said with a sloppy grin.

Every pair of eyes snapped to attention as Chiron addressed the campers, going over the rules for the newer students and reminding the elders not to play too roughly. Jade listened intently to each of the names listed for the teams, a raised eyebrow at the selection. She often wondered if there was any strategy to picking the make-up of teams or if it were just a random draw of the straw. It didn't really matter to her either way, unlike many of the other students who played, Jade was only in it for the thrill of a chase, a win was just a happy bonus for her. "Looks like we ended up on the same team this time. I'll see you on the field then." She glanced at Dorian, nodding her head goodbye before hopping up from her seat and jogging back to her cabin. Quickly she removed the brightly colored t-shirt and pants, replacing them with a rich green, sleeveless dress that cut off at her knee. The material was incredibly light with a color designed to help her blend in with her woodland surroundings. It probably would have been an odd thing to see if she weren't a huntress, the dress being designed after earlier images of Artemis herself. Not all of the kids from her cabin had shown up yet this year, but the ones that did wore similar outfits they felt the most comfortable fighting in. The butterflies of excitement had begun to set in as Jade pulled on her tall fur boots, slipping a dagger into each boot before standing up and exiting the cabin. Jade made her way quickly but calmly to her teams meeting place where a redheaded daughter of Hebe was giving her pre-battle speech. Jade couldn't deny that it wasn't the best she'd ever heard, but then again she wasn't all that great at it either. Jade reached out her hand and caught the flag as Astrid threw it into the crowd, nodding her understanding of her task. Just as she was about to run off with the other members of her cabin, Alistair spoke up his interest in defending the flag. Looking at him she was able to see some of the differences between an actual child of Hades and Dorian, things she would commit to memory for the future. Snapping back to the conversation at hand Jade looked around the group and voiced her own opinion. "I think it would be wise to have a Hermes kid run with the Hunters. If we can get the flag into their hands, we might have a really good shot at winning this."

Caden watched with amusement as campers scrambled around collecting their gear and putting together battle strategies. Gripping his trusty baseball bat tightly in his left hand, Caden draped his right arm around Adrian's shoulders. The two campers might have been half-brothers but they certainly didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things. Adrian was the more stereotypical, bully type in Caden's eyes, so Caden made it a point to annoy the guy as much as possible. "Don't worry man, you can take the break this round." Caden smiled but there was nothing genuine about it, full of condescension and challenge. Letting his arm drop to his own side, Caden shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I volunteer for the group heading down the middle, sounds like the most fun anyway." He added, knowing full well that the strategy was a sound one, he just didn't want to give Adrian the satisfaction of saying so.

Kiran listened intently to Chiron's making sure there wasn't any thrown in extra rules or twists. Nope, this time was the good old fashion CTF. The second Chiron was done with his speech. The excited girl half ran half skipped down the hill to the cabins hooting, hollering, cheering, and spinning around along the way to get pumped. She was the first of her half siblings to get to the door. She flung it open with a lot of gusto. Knowing exactly where to go, Kiran grabbed her adamantine hook swords, changed into better clothes and headed the the rendezvous point. This time she walked since she needed to conserve her energy for the game. Nathan came running up to her, out of breath.

"I can't believe you abandoned me!" He gasped.

"Oops, sorry I was just so excited for the game," Kiran laughed.

"Where's your armor?" The twig like boy asked, looking over her black leggings and long black form fitting tanktop.

"Eh, I don't really like carrying all that weight around. I prefer to be free and agile, even at the expense of getting wounded. Also I fight better over all without the armor. I can take a hit if need be." The girl shrugged.

When they met up with the group a strategy had been formed. However, Kiran had a little bonus to add. Mostly to ensure success. "How about we take advantage of my photokinesis? Once someone has located the flag, I can sneak around everyone and take it." She purposed.

The Rebellious One

After a long time of swimming in the sound Troy finally decided to get out and get something to eat. Unfortunately Chiron had some other plans. He heard him speaking from all the way over here. He only had enough time to put on his pants so he grabbed his shoes and shirt before heading over to the pavilion to get a better listen. When Troy finally arrived Chiron was just finishing up by mentioning the teams and telling them that they had thirty minutes to get ready. Fortunately he didn't have to do much to get ready. He already had his weapon on him at all times. He really had to thank his brother for that.

He stepped into the pavilion to get some food before the game started. He immediately heard the sound of giggles aimed at him. He looked down just remembering that he still had his shirt and shoes off. He gave smiles and winks to the girls that giggled and made his way over to his table. He needed a quick bite to eat just so he wouldn't go into battle with an empty stomach. Troy put on the rest of his clothes before finally chewing down on some bacon and eggs.

He started thinking about the team that he was going to face. The only real threat they had in this game was Astrid with her teleporting. The game would work better if they were able to hide it instead of putting it in plain sight. Since they had to be a certain distance from the flag the best bet to have for guards would be archers. He fortunately had Apollo kids on his team. This just might be an interesting game after all.

Death's Kid

Dorian waved goodbye to Jade as she got up and left. He then immediately went back to finishing his food. He didn't need to talk to the others about battle strategy. He would likely just be sent walking through and not near the flag. Though he tended to be a good demigod repellent. That was until it now seemed that people had no problem approaching him.

Hunter had his gear on, it was a bit heavy but last time he didn't wear it in one of these games he got stabbed. "I'll go down the middle, Any other Direction I'ma get lost again." A story that Hunter will never forget and will be explained another day. He felt nervous being in these woods at times, this was one of those times, he wasn't sure what it was but he could feel the anger in the air. Though none of the campers seemed that mad, at all actually. Something was up, something big.

Hunters mind snapped back to place when one of the campers got his attention. "Nemesis, Hurry up!" Hunter shook off the feeling and joined the center group as they moved up to the river. Then the feeling was stronger, like the closer to the fight they seemed to get the worse it got. Was he just that scared to go into battle? This wasn't right at all, Hunter was normally good at hiding his fear but something was definitely wrong. He just couldn't place it. "Let the games begin..." He said under his breath, trying to hide his fear.
