One advantage of a single bladed weapon is the more forgiving blocking potential. No double edge sword self injury and all that.

Mmhmm, you could also do half swording esque things with little to no worry of injury, I remember hearing about a bunch of men with Scimitars attacking a Redcoat line as they wandered through a town, the swordsmen basically ran up close and pushed their own blades into the Redcoats with their free hand, rather than swinging and slashing like they are portrayed as being used historically. It might have been a specific method used for tight quarters where you don't wish to injure nearby people, as they were fighting in their city, but interesting none the less.

Every sword has its advantage and disadvantage I suppose.

I actually heard about that too, gave me allot of idea for future scimitar use.

I -think- it was Matt Easton who talked about it, I started binge watching a lot of You Tubers who cover sword myths and the like after you schooled me a few times in the past. It's pretty interesting stuff.

That actually makes a lot of sense for Scimitars. Push the blade up close, and you can just slice through your opponent with a draw cut, without even needing to swing.

Technically the strike should have landed before your character touched the ground, especially if she moved swords to block it effectively speeding up the collision time, but ultimately I feel the result would have been the same, so I'm happy for IN to post and for us all to continue as long as Vordak is.

I'll get working on a post tonight or tomorrow, although if we're all fine with it I don't see why vordak would care.

I may reboot Raln a bit and have him so good with knives that he could headshot a galloping horse with one, a feat specifically stated in his sheet.

As a side note. I could have just unleashed the acceleration earlier to turn the attack that come up to slow into a hit that would have likely killed Listia. But I decided to prolong the fight. :P

That would have been a little bullshit, the whole reason your attack was slow is because you couldn't react in time, it would be a little retarded if your character was then able to react in time to not reacting in time to use something to speed his reaction time.

Sounds like a 'oh I fucked up, bullshit my way out' ability to me, might as well have teleportation.

You know reaction time is not tied to speed of perception right? If you even read Vordak's post, he said it not being well timed. Not it being a case of reaction...

In any case you'll notice he activated it before his attack (which is not a reaction) it was more a matter if when it kicked in. :K

@MelonHead So that was...horizontal from the left, two-handed into one-handed, then immediate horizontal down swing?

It's all one move, imagine holding the sword in two hands, then relinquishing the grip with your left hand as you swing and then drawing the blade down in a diagnol cut. It basically starts horizontal left right and turns diangol upper left bottom right.

@MelonHead Oh waitaminute

So it starts as a straight horizontal left-to-right swing

But then you switched from two hands to one hand

Then it goes from left right to down left up right?

Am I right?

I'M WORDING THIS HORRIBLY IT'S LATE AT NIGHT SHUT UP

No wait that's wrong you said it's going downward.

Now I'm confused.

You have to remember Judgement is like half again the size of your character, and he's attempting to catch her trying to charge low under his strike by giving it a downward striking pattern at the last moment. The arm movement he's carrying out is somewhat akin to turning the wheel of a ship or something, but flat at the start.

__
)

It has the effect of drawing the blade at first in line with her upper torso, but then the point will drop down and the middle of the blade will almost be slashing down vertically.

...I'm still kinda confused. XD

Admittedly it's nearly 11 PM and my brain starts functioning less good the later it gets.

I'm also kinda writing my intro post for Nexus of Worlds.

Alright, fuck, it, I'll just change the strike to a simple diagnol slash, though it's less cool.

Alright, it probably makes more sense as just one diangol slash, still with the hand release.
