"Psh. Heroes? Please, nothin' but a bunch a scamps s' what I see."

Having been unceremoniously plonked here by another wayward multiverse portal, Johnny was now subject to something akin to a test. Weird, green-skinned humanoid creatures were now roaring and charging into the little altar temple thing he and the other "scamps" where in, armed to the teeth even though they didn't look particularly dangerous.

Before the thing had even begun, he'd looked around, hands in pockets, and had quickly determined that all these chumps were loose change. A ragtag bunch of misfits seeking glory. He, on the other hand, was looking for a way out.

He was on the left side, and as such the five orcs that came charging in had swords clamped in their knobbly, grubby mitts. With a sigh, Johnny straightened his hat with a hand and loosed his shoulders, giving them a roll.

"Right fellas, watch 'n learn."

The lead orc came charging up to him and attempted to chop him in half horizontally, a swing that he ducked under easily, pivoting on his left foot as his right shot up, driving itself into the orc's gut as he turned his back on him. The air bubble he'd built on his sole detonated and sent the paleskin spiralling backwards into its brethren even as victim number two ran up to him, its sword hurtling downward at his head. Johnny kept on spinning on his left, standing up straight as he leaned backward, bringing up his right knee into the orc's chest, crumpling its ribs with his strength and flipping it over onto its back. As it struggled to get up, he extended his right leg, lifting it vertical in the air before bringing it down in a swift axe kick, detonating an air bubble as his heel struck the orc's torso. The resultant shockwave caved its chest inward and knocked it into the stones, creating a small crater where he'd kicked.

As he recovered, the two remaining orcs had scrambled to their feet and were busy charging him from a distance away. Without waiting, he swung his right leg, pivoting on his left as he shot a snap kick at the orc on his left, then a reverse horizontal kick at the orc on his right.

With his first kick, a vertical blade of air shot from his foot, rocketing at speed towards the first orc. A horizontal blade followed right after his second kick, shooting straight for orc number two. The blades impacted their targets and detonated, one after the other, with the resultant force of a semi truck impact, flinging the paleskins backward and into the land of the dead.

Johnny lowered his foot and straightened his hat with his free hand.

"Was that supposed to be a challenge?" He said to no one in particular. Then he lowered his hat and walked back to the center altar, rolling his shoulders gently and grumbling softly to himself.

"I've been in worse bar fights, fer cryin' out loud."

Norvandell wasn't sure what he had been expecting when he walked through that portal, but he hadn't been expecting this. Placed in the center of the group, he spread his winds and lifted himself upward to examine his surroundings. Evidently, they were being attacked from multiple sides, and by these faceless creatures as well. What the heck were they, anyway? They certainly weren't creatures he was familiar with.

Well, whatever they were, they weren't going to last long. Arrows had been fired at Norvandell and the group, and Norvandell raised his weapon to defend himself. However, a transparent barrier blocked the arrows and reflected them back. Well, that's one annoyance dealt with. Norvandell looked around, and then flew over to the orcs on the right. Norvanfell hovered over them, looking down on the orcs who tried to reach him with their swords.

His only response to their vain efforts was to point his hand down and shoot a stream of fire into the group. The orcs went into a state of panic, running around, trying to beat away the flames, but all of them soon perished. Norvandell laughed maniacally as the deed was done, enjoying their torment and pain.

Yash stepped through the portal cautiously. He had been told to help a group of warriors in a battle against evil. Looking around at the sudden shift in scenery he saw that the area was filled with allies and enemies alike. It seemed most of the orcs were already engaged save for a group wielding short swords. They should suffice for a warm up. As the group charged in a surprisingly organized arrowhead formation Yash slowly stepped forward to meet them. Once he deemed them suitably close he charged forward, his massive tower-shield held in front of him colliding heavily with the leader knocking him to the ground. He stomped on the leaders throat crushing it mercilessly and swung his blade through the orcs to his left, the holy blade decapitating one and giving the other one a nasty slash across the stomach.

He grinned as he felt the ineffectual clunk of a sword against his shield and turned to face the source. Yash viciously slammed his shield into the orc's face causing his to stagger backwards into his fellow and Yash took advantage of the opportunity to skewer both of them. He turned to face the last orc of the group and saw it turning to run in fear, a smile crossed his lips and he grabbed one of the daggers in his shoulder-plates and hurled it. It sunk into the orcs head with killing it instantly as it toppled to the ground. A glimmer of light and the blade vanished re-appearing in its original position. Yash then surveyed the battlefield considering his next move.

Viona

Walking though the portal with her blade ready, the sound of battle could be heard clearly with the clashing of blades and... explosion of magic? Viona sighed as in her world mages were quite a nuisance for their abilities making them quite hard to take down, hopefully they were on her side. Taking her first step out of the portal, Viona looked at the battlefield looking at the scenario, observing the fighting she notice that all sides were equally taken care of with the exception of the the right side with the creatures wielding the sword.

Beginning in a walk before turning into a jog, Viona hurried herself to the elf for his assistance. 'He seems to handle himself fairly, hopefully the others here can do the same.' She thought to herself and smiled briefly before she came close enough with her first victim soon to cross with her in battle. 10 feet... She looked at the orc, gathering around the elf most likely as he was the only fighter so far. With a burst of speed, Viona began sprinting towards the orc pushing herself forward, along with the noise of the other battlers should make her presence less noticeable. 5 feet... Taking advantage of their attention to the elf and the speed she was approaching the orc, in her next motion she positioned herself for a crouch before then lunging forward with her blade. Shooting forward she placed her blade in the openings of the orc's armor and pierced her opponent. Pulling her blade back, she positioned herself in a defensive stance preparing for the attacks of any of the orcs that might of have noticed her approach.

Thanks to the inhuman might of the Heroes, the first wave was almost like a fly swatted in the presence of a human.

Wave 2 - Orcs

Enemies: 36

From the main entrance came 5 Orcs with shortswords and leather armor, 5 Orcish bowmen and 1 Orcish Raiser; wearing black robes with red stripes in certain places. The mage Orc held a black staff with a ruby gem on its head. As the Orcish swordsmen charged forth and the bowmen took aim, the Raiser stood behind the archers and merely observed.

From the first entrance on the right side, 5 Orcs came forth wielding battle axes and leather armor and 2 Orcish bowmen who took aim as soon as they saw the party.

Yash looked around as more orcs flooded into the area. It appeared this had just been a warm-up indeed. He had no time to think it over more as two of the archers from his side immediately fired shots at him. He confidently blocked both arrows with his shield and the remaining melee orcs charged. More cautious then the last bunch they moved in an attempt to encircle him. Grinning Yash charged two of them slamming one to the side with his side and slashing at the other one. He immediately spun and pushed off the attack he knew was coming with his shield. He was now in-between the wall and a pillar. The ruble past the pillar ensured they could only come at him from the front, though the archers would doubtless pick other targets at this point. Yash yelled confidently, "Come on then." and waited for their assault.

Yash observed the oncoming orcs, mildly troublesome at best. He hurled a dagger at one of the archers landing it solidly in the orcs arm, no doubt preventing it from firing. That was all the time he had before the rest of the orcs got to close. As before he took the initiative and he slammed his tower shield into the first orc. As the others attempted to all attack at once he broke through taking one hit and his shield and skewering another one. He whirled to face the remaining four, his positioning now put a pillar between him and the archer forcing the orc to re-position if it wanted a shot.

"Looks like the two of us are the only ones doing the real work here, pal."

Johnny called over to the paladin at the main entrance, who was busying himself with the bigger main group that was out there. Instead he got saddled with another bunch of the faceless queers, this time armed with axes instead of swords. A trio at the back were armed with bows, and as he watched they took aim.

"Pfeh."

He raised his right leg and brought it close to his chest, gathering a big ol ball of compressed air on the sole of his foot. Then he kicked outward and detonated the ball, creating a shockwave of rapidly expanding air that blew the orcs all over from the force. With leg back down, he waited as the lead two orcs scrambled back to their feet and charged him, axes a swinging.

The first orc swung his axe vertically downward, an easy strike to dodge as Johnny proved. He swiveled on his right foot, moving himself back slightly as the axe blade whizzed past him and buried itself into the stone floor. He then used the opportunity to bury his foot three times into the orc's body; one snap kick to the gut, another to the chest and one more to the face in quick succession. The last kick had the force of detonated air behind it and it snapped the orc's neck clean in twain as the second came up behind him.

The next orc swung its axe horizontally, trying to chop him in half. With nary a moment to react, Johnny dropped to the floor, landing on his back as the blade cut through the air above him. Using the momentum of the fall, he cocked his legs in the air and flipped himself back upright, even as the orc reared back for another attack. A vertical chop came next, but he avoided that by hopping backwards a step to let the blade cleave into the stone ground again. Bracing his right leg, he took a step forward with his left, switched feet quickly as he wound up his right, then kicked out to the side, his heel impacting the orc's gut and sending him flying from the detonation of another bubble of compressed air.

Johnny drew his fingers across the brim of his fedora. A few orcs remained, and no doubt those archers were still struggling to get up from his concussive blast a few seconds earlier.

He'd have to deal with those pesky archers next then.

@Eklispe
The dagger you threw at one of the Orc archers was evaded, resuming the Orc's aiming. They let loose their arrows which only narrowly missed the Orcish axemen but fortunately they broke upon hitting your shield. Despite being eyeless, they seem to be pretty good shots.

There were still four axemen for you to contend with while the archers pulled out their arrows. One axeman decided to charge forth to try and get a hit while one other axeman charged at your side. The remaining axeman would follow after the first had swung his weapons.

@DJAtomika
(You were dealing with the swordsmen by the way)

When you created a shockwave with the compressed air ball, the Orcish Raiser raised his staff and created a barrier of red hue that protected him and the archers. The swordsmen though, was hit and with your actions, two of them were dead.

Three swordsmen were still getting to their feet when the arrows loosed. Four of the arrows missed but one managed to graze your shoulder. The archers proceeded to reload while the swordsmen rushed towards you with swords poised to swing. Two decided to attack you simultaneously while the third one slowly positioned himself behind you.

He smacked himself in the head, trying to reorient himself. That was bad, letting himself be vulnerable like that. This was no time for anyone like Julian to get lost. They were already out and ready to strike, with the Orc warriors supported by archers. How they managed to wield a bow with any form of competence was anyone's guess.

With practiced movements, Julian drew an arrow, nocked it, and pulled back. A pulse of silver-blue energy ignited through the projectile just before the Hunter let loose, aiming to take down an axeman and an archer in one fell shot. As the others advanced, Julian dived to the side and back, crouching down to make himself a smaller target. He had time to prepare and fire off two precise shots at the charging warriors' heads before they started getting too close to risk a third.

The closest warrior was raising his axe vertically when Julian dived to the side again, snapping out a quick shot at his less-armored hide. The next few warriors followed, but Julian was more nimble, backpedaling to run around them and put the archers in his line of sight - and him in theirs. The Hunter braced himself to roll below the incoming volley - the sooner he could take out the fire support, the more quickly he could kill the rest and turn to aid his allies.

Yash grimaced as he observed the archer, he could sense it seemed to be some sort of undead creature. He would have to deal with it later, the enemy of my enemy so to speak. Rather unfortunate as well that none of his abilities work on it. That simply meant he would have to prevent it from getting hit. Yash decided it would be best to do as much damage as he could then protect the archer. Yash charged the first orc spinning as the axe was swung causing it to miss by a hairs-breath and allowing him to cut off the orcs head.

When the other orcs charged Yash quickly stabbed at one of them before the others could reach him skewering it through the chest and leaving it to die. As the other two swung their axes at his exposed sides he vanished in a blur of light arriving in front of Julian, doubtlessly intercepting any arrows fired with his shield. "You needn't fear being struck archer, I shall take care of that." Yash said confidently. No doubt the archer could kill them faster then Yash could, if given an unconstrained firing range, and Yash would give him just that. Any arrows with be blocked with the aid of his skills and he would focus and keeping the melee fighters preoccupied. "Come on then faceless ones." Yash called out mocking them with his weapons at the ready. It would be a hard fight indeed to get past him to the undead archer behind him.

@Penultimate_Pi
The first arrow you let loose pierced through one of the Orcish axemen and also hit the archer some distance behind it. The other archers looked unfazed though and continued to aim their bows.

Your next two arrows took down two more Orcs while your nimble movements evaded the attacks of the remaining two. The archers loosed their arrows but you rolled under them and continued your charge. That is, if an ally had not appeared before you and blocked a\the arrows with his massive shield.

Your ally had told you that he will take care of the axemen while you handle the archers. Of course, he was not your boss and you could do whatever you want.

@Eklispe

You took down another Orc but the remaining three axemen all hit air when you decide to move over to the undead archer to protect him from two arrows intended for him. The close range made the arrows hit their mark but since the mark was akin to a wall of steel, they broke on impact.

Now you contend with two Orcish axemen and the first one swung his axe vertically while the other was moving to the side, undoubtedly to try and hit your flanks. The three axemen you had abandoned had began making their way towards you while the two archers that shot at you had began aiming at you once again.
