No, it's more like Soloist has three arms (A fact I neglected), two are going horizontally and one is moving vertically, if I understand correctly.

Do normal combat rules apply when fighting NPC Outlaws?

Last time as long as it was reasonable and you didn't make yourself overpowered by saying things like "And then Radical McAwesome killed all the level 3 Outlaws by gyrating his hips in their general direction and they exploded like little nukes which killed that one level 9 that was there" you could do a a fair bit.

Might want to wait for GM confirmation though.

Edit: Now I think about it, what would be an apropiate price for hiring a mercenary? If killing level 3 players gives Shadow Shot 30 exp, I would imagine it would be much more then that.

A job usually consists of 100 EXP/currency at its bare minimum. Since this is the Black King, maybe I'll be generous...and consider 800-900 EXP/currency. The person who makes the job offer can choose whether the reward is EXP or currency.

Do normal combat rules apply when fighting NPC Outlaws?

For simplicity reasons and not dragging on battles, no. However, be reasonable when fighting NPCs, especially if they're levels higher than you.

In other news, I guess I should have the Black King get off her lazy ass be a badass, huh.

Mang, dis time dilation is really messing with my sense of time now. XD

Guess I'll toss a post up and have Soloist think about the meaning of life for half a minute before no one has landed on her, and then do something. Maybe.

I figured it was a bit of a stretch to have the portal back up, but it fits the rules and was a pretty convenient way out of our problem.

Nooooot quite actually. While we are playing fast and loose, I'm still sticking to my one post = one round = one minute rule. And by that ruling, Newt's portal should be on cooldown this post. Granted it does save some confusion, but at the same time only adds new one since now we have to make sense of how you're able to spend a minute falling about twenty feet above the ground. You may have to edit that Diggerton, otherwise everyone else will also have up to a minute or two to use for their actions. And that could result in an even bigger clusterfuck.

Honestly, I still feel like combat rounds should be shorter than a minute. Give a better idea of how strong/useful attacks are if they have multi-post cooldowns. Even then, though, it feels like it's stretching it to imagine that the whole 'everybody falling into the same person' scene took more than five seconds...

What? One round passed, Luscius. Hence one minute passed, hence it's back up. I know it's a bit contrived but it technically follows your system.

Not quite. In one minute you used the portal: The cool down begins at the end of your post. With a cool down of one minute, it'll be ready at the end of your next post, and ready to use again on your post. Even if you use the skill at the beginning of your "Minute", unless you want to keep a running tally of your actions per turn, cooldown begins and/or refreshes at the end of each post.

At the beginning of your battle phase you had summoned the imp and the sword. Round one, one minute.

Second you warped in through the portal and attacked with the sword again. Round two, one minute.

Your third post has you use your portal again, despite using during your last post. One whole minute has yet to pass, as you're acting within the current minute. For all we know only ten seconds had passed.

Unless you're imply that your teleporter refreshes it's cool down each time you post, and in which case that's going to need to be adjusted.

I know using minutes to determine the actions of a fight is going to be confusing, but unless everyone would rather try to work with a Six-Second Round per Post, I'd hope you could follow the previously established method.

Okay, I see what you're coming from, but it's pretty much either it's back up, someone saves Newt's ass, or she's dead. It would kind of suck if I just got pulled out of the story just because I misunderstood the mechanics of Ash's character... there's no way for her to just magically move out of a free fall into a spinning death machine without magic.

well, thats life. or in this case a game. if you die, youre dead. Personally, flan doesn't even trust the guys your fighting. the only person on flan's team is newt and the king

---

I mean, its not like death takes you out of the story for good, you respawn. Flan will probly die as well before this battle is over. its obvious that the ebony strikers are severely out numbered

You could have survived it. By the same ruling, Soloist can't use her Land Demolisher to hit you since she just used them to propel herself towards Newt (One minute cool down is still in effect). At worse newt get's knocked away by the arms themselves and might be at critical health cause she's a squishy mage, but at least you didn't get hit by an attack ability.

True, there's no real penalty to dying in game. However there is a time limit of when you can spawn back and some of your EXP will be gone.

I mean, there isn't, but there's a penalty for me as someone's who's trying to enjoy an RP. I'm pretty much out of the story since everyone in in game.
