Age: 19
Race: Human of Norsaki descent.
Personality: At her core, Jaelith is an opportunist. She has a keen eye for manipulating situations to her advantage, and knows all too well how to play people off of one another. She knows best how to pull the right strings which mean she can live another day, and this survivalist mind-set is carried with her at all times.
She can be charming, flirtatious, funny, and warm, but her bubbly exterior is quick to melt away when the situation demands it, and she has no qualms about putting the lives of others on the line to save her own neck.
Biography/history: Born in the icy peeks of north Galendar, Jaelith was raised as the daughter of the chief of a Norsaki tribe known as the Tenami. As the chief’s seventh born, Jaelith was revered amongst her people as the ‘Moon Childe’, a prestigious title for those of royal blood and potent necromantic abilities, per ancient Norsaki custom.
Despite the harsh conditions she was surrounded by, Jaelith lived a pampered childhood, worshiped by those around her, and had every luxury that was available afforded to her by her adoring clan.
Jaelith’s indulgent lifestyle met its end when a mysterious magical plague which would come to be known as the ‘Pale Mist’ swept through her people’s camp, snuffing out almost all the clan in a single night. Banding together with the few remaining Tenami, Jaelith used her necromancy to raise the fallen clansmen, and set off in a vessel constructed from what remained of their camp, which she dubbed ‘The Howling Tempest’.
Setting sail on the Howling Tempest, Jaelith and her undead crew raided the seas as ferocious pirates, and were unmatched until they came into contact with Lady Marrowblade, who ultimately bested them after a brief struggle.
Reason for recruitment: Seeing the potential in Jaelith, Raven recruited her as a member of her crew, and by extension Jaelith has travelled with her on the Pirate Queen’s return to the Tower of Stars.
Strength of Will: Potent
Magic: As the Moon Childe of the Tenami, Jaelith is imbued with a mastery of Necromantic magic. She is able to raise multiple undead minions all at once and bind them to her will, as was demonstrated by the fact that the crew of the Howling Tempest were almost exclusively undead sailors under her control.
Given her prominent status as Moon Childe, Jaelith’s powers of necromancy are extremely potent, and her undead minions are more resilient and agile than those of an average necromancer.
God relations: Under Norsaki custom, Moon Childe are worshiped as gods amongst their people, so as far as Jaelith is concerned she herself is a goddess.
However, amongst Norsaki culture, Yishreenok is worshiped indirectly, as the embodiment of the moon. Whilst Jaelith believes herself to be channelling the Moon’s power, she is in fact utilizing Yishreenok’s dark magic.
Tech: Jaelith wields an advanced, three round burst, machine pistol, which is usually holstered to her waist. It fires cryogenic ammunition, which has a chance to freeze its targets in a literal icy prison upon impact.
Jaelith also carries a monomolecular Cutlass on her person. The cutlass is made from alchemically bonded molecules which are reinforced with arcane enchantments, giving it the ability to cut through most surfaces and armours.
Skills: As listed above, Jaelith is an apt manipulator, and her cataclysmic knowledge of necromancy makes her a deadly opponent.
Misc: Jaelith’s body is adorned with extravagant jewellery from her pirating days, and her nose, ears, and belly button all carry some kind of piercing. A single gold stud pierces her nose, she has three gold rings in her left ear and two on her right, and an emerald-studded ring sits in her belly button.
